I hide around the corner as my father steps out of the elevator with armed SHIELD agents following him. He opens the doors and walks through into a room with some sort of cell in it. I sprint after him, slipping stealthy between the doors before they close and hiding behind a metal wall.

"Mission report." my father orders someone."Mission report now." he says louder when he gets no reply.

I see that I am the only person outside of the cell. I silently walk towards the wall and peek through the barred door. The armed men and scientists are distracted and so don't notice my presence behind them.

My father is leaning in front of an attractive man with long brown hair and a metal arm. Confusion and hopelessness is etched across his dazed face. I leap backwards when my father suddenly slapped the man across the face after awaiting his command to be acknowledged. The man doesn't react other than frowning in confusion.

"The man on the bridge," The man replies distantly,"who was he?"

Captain Steve Rogers. I have met him a couple of times. He was nice. But now Hydra is hunting him down along with Natasha Romanoff.

"You met him earlier this week on an assignment."

"I knew him..." He states, his icy blue eyes staring into nothing.

"Your work has been a gift to mankind." My father tells him. I realise that this man is the Winter Soldier. I had seen him with my father a few times and I have heard about his 'work', I always thought he had done it willingly but by the look of it I was wrong. "You have shaped the century... I need you to do it one more time. Society is at a tipping point between order and chaos. Tomorrow morning we're gonna give it a push... But if you don't do your part, I can't do mine. And Hydra can't give the world the freedom it deserves"

"... But I knew him." He repeats, slowly gazing in my direction. For the few miliseconds that they are looking in my direction, his eyes seem to be begging desperately trying to remember something. His eyes, distracted, trail up the wall beside the door.

I quickly move away from the door and press my back against the wall, I know that he saw my movement but he might not be sure if it was real. I hear my father muttering to someone. I look round again to see the Winter Soldier. He no longer looks distant or distracted, he looks confused, like he was so close to understanding everything and scared because he knows what's coming.

A moment later I hear the low hum of machinery. I peer though the bars to see a scary looking device lowering down towards the soldier's head as metal plates pin his arms to the chair. He is hyperventilating, his breathing so heavy he's almost wheezing. His torso shakes as he breaths in and out uneasily and his muscles tense up. My eyes widen as part of the machine fitted itself around his head like a headset.

After a second of silence he starts the screaming in agony, muffled slightly by the plastic he is biting into, an attempt to resist the pain. My vision blurs as tears build up a wall over my eyes, threatening to fall and my throat hitches as I almost sob.

My father turns around to walk through the door. I slide into the corner to hide from him. He opens the door and strides past me, not even noticing me. I run up to him and kick the agent in between the legs. I grab his gun as he reacts to the pain he is in and I hit him in the back of his head with it, knocking him out.

My father turns to face me and I point the gun at him. He is surprised to see me but doesn't do anything except for slowly raising his hands.

"What are you doing to him?!" I ask, absolutely furious. Tears are now racing down my cheeks, I can still hear the Winter Soldier screaming.

"We are just wiping his memory." He says calmly.

"Just wiping his memory?! You are hurting him!" I accuse, completely outraged.

Suddenly the agent from earlier kicks the back of my leg. He must have woken up and recovered from the pain he was in. I didn't hit him hard enough.

I fall to my knees and the agent grabs my arms and holds them behind my back, forcing the gun out of my shaking hands. I struggle as he and my father drag me to my room. I look back to see the unconscious Winter Soldier being dragged down the corridor and through a door near mine.

I was thrown into my room and the door slammed shut.
