Miyake POV
"It's been half a month since our birthdays, and now we are making our way to the capital for the upcoming entrance exam. I'm currently in a carriage with Shin to my left, Grandpa is across me, and next to him is Granny, speaking of them"
"Are you two going to act like that all the time or this is some phase?" I ask the two people that are currently facing away from each other and are completely silent
"...Wouldn't I be sufficient to accompany you to the capital...?" Grampa asks
"D-Don't misunderstand. I'm just tagging along because I have to look after Shin!" Granny responds
"Heh tsundere" "Granny just say you're happy to be with us especially with Grandpa," Miyake says with a teasing smile
"What is this child even saying" Granny responds bewildered
"Thanks for coming along Granny, it makes me happy," Shin says with a smile
"W-Well...I'm just afraid this old goat can't teach you any common sense on his own" Granny responds while having a slight blush
"Really...that was too easy"
"Hey! I can see the capital" Shin says excited
Sometime later
"Well, that is certainly a lot of people," I say
"It looks like we have to queue up for inspection," Grandpa says
"Excuse me may I see your identification papers?" the friendly guard asks
"Here," Grandpa says while handing him the papers
As the guard takes the papers he looks at them, and again, it takes him a second to process what he just read
"I-I-It's The Magi! It's Master Merlin! A-And Guru Melida too! The guard yells on top of his lungs completely shocked at the appearance of the two heroes
"Well, that's bound to cause an uproar, nice going bud," I say with a hint of annoyance
"The Magi is here?! W-Where?" "And the Guru is here too!" "I want to see," random people say while a crowd forms
"I-It's an honor to meet you, Master Merlin"
"I don't like causing commotions such as these, so could let us through?"
"Yes, right away but can I ask who are these two young gentlemen?" the guard asks politely
"Shin Wolford"
"And Miyake Wolford"
"Our Grandsons" Granny and Grandpa respond which adds more shock to the already flabbergasted guard
"After getting through we were greeted by a loud atmosphere of a capital, shops everywhere, sellers shouting out their prizes to try and get the attention of the buyers and overall a whole lot of people. But seriously the last time I saw this many people was back in Japan. So in a book, it said that there are districts that divide the city. The outer or commoners' block where we are currently, the inner or block with nobility and the wealthy, and the most inner block or the castle block. Grandpa said that their house is on the outskirts of the 1st block near the 2nd, so we are slowly making our way towards it"
"Whoa, wait a minute are we sure we are at the right address?" I ask a little bit shocked at what am I seeing
"No, we are here this is our house," Grandpa says with a nonchalant attitude
"HUUUGE, is this really your house?" Shin asks shocked
"It was given to us by the king while I was still married to this old man," Granny responds
"In my previous world, only people that are celebrities can buy this sort of house...well grandpa and grandma are technically celebrities so this kind of makes sense"
"Welcome home!" The butlers and maids all say in unison
"Okay, scratch that only nobility live like this, also If they call me Master Miyake I will crawl into my skin"
"Eh?? What the..??" Shin can't comprehend the situation
"Looks like Diseum dispatched them here"
"This is why I hate this place"
The two owners express their displeasure
"I am the head maid, Marika."
" and I am the head butler, Steve."
"I'm the head chef Correll" they each take their turns introducing themselves
"We even have a chef, nice" I comment
"What are we going to do?" Shin asks
"Please do not bother yourself with housework, Master Shin. Let all of us handle it" Marika responds while I visibly winced
"Something the matter Master Miyake?" Steve asks while I try my hardest to not make my cringe visible
"Is the Master really needed?" I ask praying in my head he understands at least a little bit
"An honorific befitting for a grandson of revered hero. That is how we will address you." Marika responds with a smile, and thus my prayers were unanswered
"You can't hold the Master?" I tried to ask one last time
"We received a direct order from His Majesty himself to serve you. We are honored to serve this family of heroes and you have my word that we will not treat you with disdain" Steve says with a professional tone while I just drop my shoulders in disappointment
"...Well, that's how it is," Grandpa says
"We will handle your luggage. Young Masters how about a little bit of sightseeing around town."
Marika suggests

"I expected us to be treated like a VIP but not to this extent. We don't have to hunt, we don't have to cook, is this really alright?" Shin comments on our current situation
"Well better get used to it my friend, anyways want to buy something with the coins that Grandpa gave us?" I ask feeling a little hungry
"Kinda hungry...oh look that skewered meat looks nice," Shin says as we walk towards the stand
"Welcome!"
"Umm, you wanna order or?" The seller asks because I didn't talk and I know Shin is a bit shy...so as any good friend I continue to wait without saying anything
"O-Oh yeah sorry! Can we get two?" Shin asks nervously
"Sure thing, here you go" "Thank you for the purchase!" The seller says politely
"Why did you have to do that?" Shin yells at me
"Just because" I reply with a smug smile
As we were walking around we spot people lining up for something
"Excuse me, what are all of you lining up for? I ask a random guy
"A theatre play! The legend of Magi Merlin and Guru Melida to be exact" he responds
"SERIOUSLY" Shin yells shocked yet again
"Oi, chill out with the yelling," I say to him while checking the state of my ears
"I swear one day he will burst my eardrums."
"Oh sorry, I just didn't think that they would have a play dedicated to them, just how respected are they?" Shin says while I try just look at him
"Did you forget that they literally saved the nation? *sigh*"
"Anyways, let's go," I say while walking away and Shin runs to catch up
"So anyway I was thinking can we create something that helps us with communication or something similar to a voice enhancement to start off with? I ask Shin about his opinion on the matter
"Hmmm, we probably can, I know that you enjoy doing that so I'll leave that to you"
"Noo!! Stop!!! Cut it out already" We hear a girl yell
As we look at the current situation we see three men with swords possibly guards or demon hunters harassing two young ladies. One cute girl with waist-length blue hair and blue-green eyes looks like the shy type and doesn't like confrontation. The second is a beautiful girl with long red straight hair that reaches her waist with brown almost amber-like eyes. "the red hair isn't afraid to state her opinion and will stand up for herself considering that she is standing in front of the three men and isn't backing down...she's definitely a strong-willed person. And those men are literal scum of the earth and I hope they disintegrate"
"Woo, scary. Don't be so mad baby. We're just asking you to play with us" *Crack*
"We'll teach you some fun things, I promise. It's gonna feel reaaalllyyy good." *Crack*
"Wow cliches like these happen in this world as well" Shin comments next to me while I ignore him
"Just come with us!!" The man yells *Crack*
"Nooo!! Somebody...help!" She yells while people around her ignore the situation
*SHATTER*
"Miyake you wanna...oh...? When Shin turns to me he sees that for the first time since coming to his world my composure cracked and I am pissed
As the man tries to grab the red-haired girl again I swiftly grab his hand and twist it to the point of breaking
"AHHHHH" the guard yells
"Try and touch her again and I promise you, you will regret it," I say with a murderous voice while letting go of his arm
"Brat do you not know who we are? We are monster hunters, we hunt monsters day and night we are protecting these girls, in other words, we are heroes."
"That's it you're dead," I say while walking towards them when a hand pulls back on my shoulder
"Yeah, maybe hunting monsters makes you some sort of a hero, but only villains hunt for girls," Shin says while standing next to me
"So you wanna taste my fist?!"
"Say hello to Mr. Death"
"Sorry Shin but could you allow me to let out my anger on them" I ask Shin in a serious voice
"*Gulps* Sure" Shin responds a little taken aback by my tone
While we were talking the guy, attempts to punch Shin but I quickly intercept break his arm and deliver a swift right hook to his face, he falls on the ground unconscious. As the second guy comes at me he swings his fist but he is so slow I just grab him a throw him onto the ground, letting him take a nap. The third guy tries to strike me with a sword to which I pull out my katana and meet his blade with mine, unfortunately for him his sword breaks and I dash at him and knock him out with the hilt of the katana
"If these so-called demon hunters are this weak, it's safe to say this kingdom is fucked"
"Anyways you ladies alright? I ask
"Ah. No, we're fine. What about you, they had swords" The red-haired girl speaks up while running up but she tripes and falls into my chest
"S-S-Sorry" she backs away
"Why didn't I mind that?" both of them think to themselves
"Are you sure you're okay you just tripped on air"
"Y-yeah, don't worry." She says nervously while blushing lightly
"Now that I look at her she is really cute and beautiful"
"Don't worry neither of us would get beaten by their slow moves" Shin says while walking up to us
"But they looked like they moved fast to me..." the blue-haired girl says while walking towards us
But as I turn to look at her I notice Shin's skin lose color
"Shin, you alright?" I ask him
and then it turns into a bright red color "You're the cutest thing ever" was written on his face
"Sometimes I question my sanity when it comes to this idiot. Well at least he found love"
"Umm. Is there something wrong?" The blue-haired girl asks
"Wha? N-Noo, everything's fine" Shin responds while still blushing
"Oh ok, you surprised me because you suddenly froze? The blue-haired girl says politely
"I totally got smitten," Shin thinks to himself
While they are talking I lean towards the red-haired girl's ear and whisper "He got smitten" "Well that's the usual reaction" she answers while we both chuckle
"Anyways you two are safe now so we will get going," I say while pulling away from the girl
"Wait, let us treat you as a way to say thank you" The girl in front of me responds
"Sure, but we will pay for our drinks." I say while also asking "So you two have a place in mind?"
"There is a cafe nearby" the blue-hair responds
"Cafe it is, lead the way umm... now that I remember we still haven't introduced ourselves"
"Well, I'll start. My name is Miyake and this guy is Shin"
"I'm Shin, nice to meet you"
"I'm Maria, and this is Cecily," The red-haired girl named Maria says
"N-Nice to meet you" And the blue-haired named Cecily nervously
"Nice to meet you and I hope we will get along"
"As I was saying lead the way," I say while letting them past us and we start walking
"Again thank you for saving us, but if only we could use magic we wouldn't be in that mess," Maria says with a disappointed voice
"You know we can't, Maria. It's prohibited to use offensive magic in civilian areas"
"Ho, so you can use magic, magic student I'm guessing? I ask Maria
"Yes if I pass the entrance exam next month. Maria says
"Oh so you too," Shin says
"Yeah...wait did you say "too"?" Maria asks bewildered
"Wait hold that thought let's grab our drinks first," I say to Maria while waving and getting the waiters attention
"Good evening. What do you want to order?" the waiter politely asks
"I would like tea" I order
"Coffee for me" Shin answers next
"For us, two iced teas" Maria finishes off our order
"Ok, give me a second, I'll bring them over right away"
"As I was saying you said "too"? asks continuing her question
"Here are your drinks" The waiter brings us our drinks
"You're fast. Thank you" I thank the waiter for everyone else
"I did because we're taking it too"? Shin responds while I sip on my tea
"A little on the sweeter side, not bad," I think to myself while taking another sip
"Wait "we're", Miyake are you also taking the exam?" Maria asks me
"Mhm" I respond with a quick nod
"Seriously...? You know martial arts while being a wizard." Maria says dumbfounded
"I was sure you were a student of the knight school..."
"Oh, that is just a side product of our childhood. Anyways we're going to be attending the same school, huh? I wish you luck in the exam" I say while looking towards Maria and offering my hand
"I'm serious about passing, so I won't lose to you!" She responds
"We'll see about that," I say with a smug smile while shaking hands
"Girls have really delicate hands, I feel that if I put a bit more pressure it will break"
"Let's work hard Cecily!" Shin says while mimicking us
"Ah...Um...I" Cecily tries to answer
"What's up, Cecily are you not feeling well?" Maria asks
"Eh?! N-No, I'm fine!"
"Let's do our best!" She says while shaking Shin's hand while wearing a blush on her face
While we were watching this interaction neither I nor Maria noticed that our hands are still together, and so we awkwardly pull away
"Hey, from which academy are you two from? We're the same age so it's weird that I've never seen you around?" Maria curiously asks
"Actually this is our first day in the capital" I respond
"Oh, so that's why."
"Have you heard about this?! There's news that the Magi and the Guru just returned to the capital today"
"Yeah...we heard?" Shin responds a little embarrassed
"Master Merlin, the peerless Magi with dauntless courage!"
"Pls stop"
"And Master Melida the beautiful demon hunter with unparalleled skill with magic tools!"
"No more I beg you"
"They are this country's...no, this world's strongest living legends ever!!" Maria finishes with sparkling eyes
"This is killing me," I think to myself while looking at Shin who just spat his drink out
"Are you two alright?"
"What's up with the weird faces?"
"Nothing" I respond
"Maria, you really like Gram--er the Magi and the Guru, don't you? Shin asks while trying to hide from embarrassment
"Do you really have to ask?!" The fangirl says "Also, their grandchild is also planning on attending the magic academy!!
"Whoa...she even knows about that..."
"I wonder what kind of person could he be?! I want to thank the gods for letting me be born in the same year as him!"
"Well, we should get going," I say grabbing the receipt while standing up and Shin following soon after
"Ah, we'll pay for our own drink..." Maria protests
"It's fine, let me act cool for once" I shot her down
"Well see you soon," Shin says while both of us are waving while walking away
"See you soon" They do the same
"So Cecily is pretty cute," I ask Shin with a mischievous smile
"Yeah"
"So you like her?"
"I don't know"
"Dude are you serious...you literally froze on the spot when you saw her and I can bet that she was on your mind the whole time " "And I think she likes you back.. fun"
"So I like her huh...anyways what about you, Maria looks like your type," Shin says changing the subject
"Hmmm...If I had to pick between them I would definitely say that Maria is more beautiful but I don't want to try anything until I get to know her, since I don't want to date someone at the cost of losing them as a friend if we break up, your girlfriend should also be your friend...you get me? I try explaining my mentality on dating
"Yeah, I understand...but you could say it's a little late for me, haha" Shin replies with a self-deprecating laugh
"Nah, you're okay, I'll help you out with Cecily," I say while putting my fist towards him
"T-Thanks" He replies while fist-bumping me
"Unfortunately your stupid head forgot to ask how to contact them" I reply while chuckling
"AH! I'll just have to pray we see them at school," He says while dropping his shoulders in disappointment
Meanwhile
Maria POV
"Shin's a cool guy, don't you think?"
"Yes..."
"He doesn't look too bad, is strong, and can use magic. On top of it, he isn't pushy."
"Yes..."
"The way he part ways is cool, right?"
"Yes..."
".......Can I kiss him?"
"Yes..."
"Hehe"
"Well, then, I'll be taking him for myself, okay," I say with a mischievous smile
"Ye..." "EH! What?! You can't!!" She says with a surprised expression while I laugh "U...Uh, Maria"
"Wahahahah, sorry about that. That's the first time I see you space out like that. I wonder why? Saved from distress by a boy, you fell in love at first sight. What a cliche development."
"That's...that's not it...I think...but...When I see his face, I become very nervous...and it feels like my heart is beating loudly...it makes my body heat up" Cicily say while blushing heavily
"What the heck seriously, just like that?"
"But "Try and touch her again and I promise you, you will regret it" why did I feel safe and warm when that scene replays in my mind," I think to myself not understanding this feeling
Back at the mansion
Miyake POV
"Welcome home, Master Shin, Master Miyake" Steve greets us
"We're back" Shin responds while I think to myself how can I make him stop calling me master
"There are letters for you from the magic academy"
"What?" Shin say a little shocked while I open my letter
"Oh, It's just our registration cards for the entrance exam" I respond with a dismissive tone "I'll go take a nap, see ya"
"I wish you a nice rest, Master Miyake"
"Now about that sound enhancement. Let's see...for a speaker to work you need a sound source so something like a microphone to be connected to the speaker which in turn enhances your voice. So how can I make that with magic...let's see if I say something into this glass bottle it will echo so could you also do the same with magic. Let's try that so thinly spread out my magic to envelop the room ignoring the bed and other objects to create an echo chamber of some sort, okay by the looks of it, it worked now to test it"

Timeskip to the day of the entrance exam
"You didn't forget anything, did you?" Grandma asks us
"We have our writing tools, our registration cards, and our ID cards" Shin answers
"That ID card recognizes the holder's magic pattern so nobody but the owner can activate it. It also has other functions, it's a sophisticated item. Take good care of it. Well, good luck on the entrance exam" Grandpa wishes us luck while waving
"Thanks/Thank you" Both of us respond while walking towards the school
At the school
"There are so many people here," Shin says while we walking towards the board
"What did you expect from the most famous school in the kingdom" I respond
"Anyway, umm... the venue is.." Shin and I start searching for the venue on the board map
"Hey, you. Move aside"
"Ah...there it is" Shin finds the location
"You cretin!!"
A hand grabs Shins shoulder and he quickly twists it behind the owners back
"GWAAARGH!" the random yells "WHAT ARE YOU DOING RELEASE ME"
"What are you doing. Don't go casually grabbing other people's shoulder" I say to him with an annoyed tone
"HOW DARE YOU?! I AM KURT VON RITZBURG!!" The random introduced himself while yelling
"And? I am Shin and this is Miyake." Shin introduced us
"Also want me to do get a red carpet for you to walk on so you don't have to walk on this peasant road," I say to the prick in a clear sarcastic tone while the people nearby laugh
"I am the eldest son of the Ritzburg family...!"
"?? Yeah congrats want a medal or something?"
"You think that you can get away scot-free after messing with me?
"I think I can."
"There's no way a mere magic school teacher would even dare go against me!!
"Honestly what an idiot"
"Stop right there. Using one's family's powers to harm others in this magic school is taken as an act that disserves magic users. Severe punishment will be dealt to those who do it. It's not just a rule regulated by the school, it's a law established by the royal family"
"Y-You are...!" idiot gets scared
"Or...do you dare challenge the royal family?" the blond-haired boy says in a serious tone
"No, I wouldn't think of it!!" Kurt says while bowing
"Oh good going there bud"I praise the blond-haired
"Then I would like to ask you to stop causing a scene. This is an exam venue. You'll disturb the other registrants."
"Y-Yes.." Kurt walks off frustrated while glaring at me and Shin, I just ignore him
"Hehe...Now that's a way to introduce yourself. Just as I've heard you know little of how society works." The blond-haired boy says as he turns to Shin
"What?" Shin asks
"I am August von Earlshide. Close friends call me Aug. I've heard about you from my father, Shin"
"So he's Uncle Dis's son."
"Earlshide...? That means you are Uncle Dis's son!?" Shin voices my thoughts which shocks the surrounding people for some reason
"Hehe..."Uncle Dis's son" you say...That's the first time I've been referred to as uncle Dis's son. Other people usually try to flatter me the moment they realize I am the prince" Aug responds to Shin
"I dunno I've always thought of uncle Dis as my own uncle." Shin states
"Yeah to us you're basically a cousin" I finish Shins sentence
"EHEHEHE, AHAHAHAH" Aug has a hearty laugh "I see..."cousins" you're interesting. I want to stay here and talk, but we need to enter the exam venue soon. The next time we meet will be at the entrance ceremony, right? Let's do our best" He walks off as me a Shin stand there in silence
"Well let's get going," I say to him
"Mhm" he responds with a nod and we start walking
Meanwhile
Maria POV
"W-Why was Miyake and Shin talking with prince August?! And they are talking so casually..." I ask shocked
"Who is Shin, I wonder..." Cecily responds next to me
"But the big problem is that person. That person wants to attend this school too..." I say seriously while Cecily just looks down
"Listen, if anything happens to you, just tell me, all right?"
"Yes.."
"Oh I know! We can consult Shin about it!"
"W-What?!"
"I'm sure he'll help us!"
"No...It'll just be a bother to him" Cecily says timidly while again looking down
"No, it'll be fine Shin isn't the type of guy who'd ignore a lady in distress! He'll go and protect you, even!"
"But it feels like I'm taking advantage of his kindness..."
"So what? Listen, Cecily. You are someone important to me."
"Maria..."
"Also, you can get closer to him if you're together, right hehe?"
"Mariaaa...!!" Cecily yells flustered
*Sneeze*
"Shin, you good? You aren't sick or something?" Miyake asks Shin
"I don't think I am" Shin responds
The entrance exam is divided into two parts. For the written exam, the sea of participants are divided into different venues. For the practical exam, the entrants are to demonstrate their magical capabilities inside the school's training area.
Miyake POV
"That wasn't as hard as I thought," Shin says while we are walking towards the training room
"Yeah, it was surprisingly easy," I say honestly
"The next six come in" The teacher calls out to us as we make our way inside and line up
"Demonstrate a magic art that you feel you know the best! We have prepared targets at the other side of the room! Destroy it if you are capable even if you can't you can still pass if we deem your skills satisfactory" The teacher explains to us "You're first!"
"Yes, ma'am!" the boy that was called out walks forward
"This will be our first time seeing magic cast by kids our age!" Shin whispers to me a little excited, I'm kinda the same
"O flames that eradicate all matter!!" The boy start
"?!" Shin and I look and the scene horrified
"Light inside my hands and set my foes ablaze!! Fire Ball!! The boy finishes a casts a palm-sized ball of fire, and as it collides with the dummy it doesn't even leave a mark
Shin starts to shake while I still refuse to acknowledge the situation
"Hmph" The boy smiles proudly while the rest of the students apart from me and Shin are amazed
"That small?! Oi, why are you proud about that?! All that chanting for such a small spell... And why are all of you so impressed?? You can't be serious. Oh no are the other ones going to chant as well"
"Raging waves, wash away my adversaries! Water Shot!" the next one yet again fails to leave a mark
"Please just stop don't embarrass yourself like this"
"The wind spins, the wind dances! Form a gust and mow them down! Wind Storm!"
"My ears are bleeding," Shin thinks to himself
"Lend me your strength mother nature! Repel my enemies with glacier! Ice Blast!"
"What kind of chuunibyou convention is this...?" Shin says with the last strand of strength
"I...honestly don't know" I respond while I feel myself slowly coming back
"Your turn." The teacher calls out to Shin "...Hm. I see His Highness spoke of you two...Hold back your power when you shoot it. Try not to destroy the training area, all right?"
"What did you tell them about us, Uncle Dis," I say in a defeated voice
"I just have to hit a practice dummy in the distance...so this should be enough" Shin thought to himself
"!!! Hey...he didn't chant anything...? the one student says shocked
" I can bet my life that he won't hold back enough"
Shin casually casts his spell and throws it with minimal movement and destroys the target dummies and the back wall
Everyone's frozen state gets broken by a laughing sound
"HAHAHHAH!! I knew you won't hold back enough" I say to Shin trying to calm down
"Yeah that's my bad, I didn't think it would be that strong"
"A-All right, y-you can go next" the teacher says to me
"Sure, I don't mind but where are we going to test this, Shin destroyed everything" I say stating the obvious " Actually...I have an idea since Shin blew out that wall, we can go outside" I say while pointing at the wall behind me
"O-Okay" With the approval of the teacher we make our way outside
"Whenever you are ready"
"So I just need to pass with flying colors, all right"
"When highly concentrated hydrogen meets with oxygen, it causes an explosion so if I gather some hydrogen from the surrounding air and then encase it with my magic it should prevent it from exploding on the spot...lets try that"
Miyake then casts his spell and a small ball of white flame appears in his hand and he slightly throws it upwards and when it gets close to hitting the ground he kicks it into the sky and as it flies into the sky once it is far enough where nothing will get damaged, Miyake snaps his fingers and the ball explodes with a white flame in a wide radius
And once again everyone is shocked and can't utter a single word luckily the explosion was silent so nobody apart from the seven of them saw it
"Nice one" Shin says while walking towards me
"Thanks" I respond while we high five
"So I guess that's that, can we go now?" I turn to the teacher
"Y-Yeah you may go," She says while still looking up at the sky
Times skip at the meeting room
3rd person POV
"Were the two of them really that strong?" one of the teachers asks
"Shin intended to hold back his powers, but still half-destroyed the training facility. All the targets are now dust. And Miyake threw a small fireball into the sky and produced an explosion large enough to wipe out this building. They also looked completely casual while doing so and they didn't even chant." The teacher finishes her report on the two students
"Are we even fit to teach them? Maybe they should be teaching us..." the head director says in a trembling voice
"Agreed. His Highness said that he wanted them to attend this school so that they can learn to socialize with others...So wouldn't it suffice if we make a new research room, put people in there with them, and teach them social skills?" One other teacher shared his idea
"Good idea. That'll make things easier for us." The head director approves the idea
"We haven't finished grading all students but both of them scored full points. So it's decided that they will be attending our school."
