The girl looks down at her wrist once more. "Only an hour left." She hums as she looks up again, seeing all the new faces that had come up since she's been here. There's definitely a lot more people now than before.
The amount of people are in the 400's now, seeing every new face that comes through the very same entrance she did almost a day ago.
She had seen that bald guy that she had a brief interaction with on the boat, apparently he's some kind of ninja.
'You need to find and deter yourself away from any nen users while you're there. People who are already nen users and are taking the Exam probably more than not, are trouble so stay clear of them ya' here kid?'
She recalls her mentors words, he had told her that most people who take the exam aren't experienced nen users, considering that's typically the final stage of the exam. He had also mentioned that she shouldn't spill that she's a nen user and try her best to just use zetsu instead of In just to not seem suspicious.
There were a few people here who she noticed almost immediately were nen users.
One was a man who had the badge number 44, it was hard to miss him as he had bright pinkish red hair and had a green, tear like shape under his left eye and a pink star under his other.
He wore a white cropped shirt that had puffed shoulder sleeves, printed on his white shirt were two black clovers. Under the white shirt was a pink ribbed like turtleneck he worse as an undershirt that was also well fitted at the waist that had a tied yellow jacket to it.
She would have noticed more if the man hadn't caught her staring and locked eye contact with his golden eyes.
Seeing the man break into a smirk, he licks his lips before the girl tears her eyes away for an escape. She could still feel the man's stare boring into her back as she turned and walked away.
A sense of worry crossed her as she tried to evade his gaze, trying to lose sight from him so she wouldn't feel such dread.
Getting lost in the crowd, she barely noticed when she ran into someone until her bottom hit the ground with a thunk.
"Oww." She commented as she rubs her side from the fall.
"Oh! I'm sorry I didn't mean to run into you, I wasn't paying attention to where I was going!" The girl frantically spoke towards the victim of her clumsiness.
The boy sat there for a minute rubbing the back of his neck before getting up. "Hey it's okay, here let me help you up!" The boy spoke.
The girl opens her eyes and looks up at the boy before her. Her eyes meet with his deep honey colored ones as he sends his arm towards her.
He had spiky black hair that seemed to look green in a particular lighting, a small tan to his skin tone, and looked like his favorite color was green by the looks of it.
He had a grass green jacket that had accents of red outlining the collar and his pockets, along with his wrist cuffs, he also wore the same shade of green shorts that seemed a little too short for is stature. He finished off his outfit with a pair of grass green laced up boots that came just a bit below his ankle. He seemed simple
Realizing that she was studying him for a bit too long, she smiled and took his hand.
Lifting her up, his eyes widened just a bit before returning to their original kind gaze.
"I know you said it's okay, but I am sorry I am a bit clumsy, thanks though." The girl dusts her sweatshirt off trying to not make things awkward.
With a smile, the bright eyed boy shakes his head. "No problem! I'm Gon by the way!" The boy beams at the girl putting his arm out to shake her own.
The girl thought for a moment before telling him her name, it would defeat the purpose of her disguise.
"I'm ange! Nice to meet you Gon!" The girl gladly takes his hand and gives it a happy shake. The boy in return also gives her a happy shake.
She could tell just by the glint in his eye that they would be good friends.
"Here! Let me show you my other friends!" The girl nods in agreement finally talking to someone who she could get along with.
The boy then leads her to a semi-secluded area where two other males who were currently dumping out cans of soda.
"Oh there you are Gon." A tall man who wore a deep blue suit and a teal-colored tie spoke before he could notice the person trailing from behind.
Upon closer inspection he also had small circular tinted glasses that rested on the bridge of his nose, and also had a briefcase in his left hand.
Hearing the man speak, the other male which stood directly beside of him looked up as well, instantly locking eyes with her (e/c) ones.
Directing her eyes back to the man in the suit as he speaks again, his eyebrow raising in the process.
"So Gon, who's this now?" The tall man leans over getting a bit too close to her face as she begins to sweat drop as he does so.
"C'mon Leorio, he's definitely uncomfortable." The blonde one spoke, causing the one named Leorio to back off a bit much to her thanks.
"Oh this is Ange! We accidentally bumped into each other while I was walking around." Gon beams as he finishes with a close eyed smile.
Leorio stands up straight once more and slings his briefcase behind his shoulder. "I'm Leorio and that's Kurapika." He nods his head over to the blonde who just stands there looking at the girl.
"Nice to meet you, Ange." Kurapika greets the girl with a small closed smile.
Her mind couldn't slow down, He was just too cool!
He wore a blue tabard decorated with a red-orange-colored hem and a white full-body training suit underneath, with blue shoes to match.
From the short time they locked eyes, (y/n) could tell that his eyes were deep grey in color and that he had a red drop earring in his left ear, his shaggy blonde hair fitting him and his face very well.
"That's such a cool name!" The girl couldn't help but beam at the young man in front of her.
"And your suit is so classy it really makes you look older!" She pointed at Leorio as she continued to beam at them, her warm aura making the interaction less awkward.

Right before the girl was about to open her mouth again an odd sound was heard, completely catching her off guard.
Turning their heads they see a man dressed in a black suit with a mustache bow before he spoke. "Here I am, The time for reception is over."
DING
"Now the Exam can begin!" The man who you assume is the first examiner moves to the side as he expands his arm in direction. "This way please."
The man begins walking as he speaks once more "Well. We'll begin with a short verification... It's an extremely difficult Exam, Sometimes you can miss a chance and can end up hurting yourself, or can simply die..."
People starts to follow walking at the same pace as the examiner before them.
"There are things that simply can't be avoided. Now please follow me."
The sounds of people walking started to ring throughout the place, along with murmuring.
The group was closer to the back middle than anything so when the people in front of them started to get faster it caused Leorio to speak up. "What's happening here? They're all so rushed to get out of here." He commented looking from side to side, a sweat drop appearing on his forehead.
This causes the girl to giggle as she starts to jog beside Gon, She could tell that Leorio wasn't the brightest star in the sky, but still had good intention.
"No, I don't think that's it Leo, I think they're speeding up instead." The girl comments, slightly looking behind her shoulder to the man. She caught some red on his cheeks before he started to jog up to the two of them.
The Examiner in the front was saying some words that none of them could comprehend due to everyone around them huffing and puffing already.
"What did he say?!" Leorio opens his mouth once more, trying to keep up with the three of them.
"I think he said that he's going to lead us to the second portion of the Exam, meaning this is the first portion." Kurapika cooly states, speeding up slightly to be beside the girl and Gon.
Not sooner than ten seconds go by and Leorio opens his mouth once again to speak, this time in annoyance.
The girl tries to refrain from laughing at Leorio to not seem rude although it was a difficult feat.
Gazing her shoulder once more she sees Leorio scolding a silver-almost white haired kid who was currently riding on a skateboard.
Gazing upon the new boy her ears when silent as she took in his appearance.
The girls mouth opens just a bit as she gazes into his deep but bright blue eyes, never had she seen such a blue color! She then looked at his clothes, which consisted a black turtleneck that was under a baggy white tee shirt with jean blue sport shorts that reached his knees, finishing his casual look with a pair of purple and white high-top shoes.
'He's so cool too!' The girl gaped at the newcomer, her signature star eyes returning once more till her thoughts were interrupted by Gon speaking.
"You're wrong he just asked us to follow him didn't he?" Gon spoke to Leorio defending the silver haired boy.
"Tell me, how old are you?" The silver haired boy spoke for the first time, his voice sounded cool and casual, he sounded just as she thought he would.
"We're sixteen!" Gon spoke referring to himself and the girl, now being brought into the interaction instead of being just a bystander.
The silver haired male nodded then replied, "Just like me.. Finally, i'm also going to run." The boy then did a trick that caused him to get off of his skateboard without stopping.
"Wow! that was so cool!" The girl couldn't stop herself from complementing the boy, earning a pale pink shade to form on his cheeks. He mumbled a curt thanks in response.
The girl smiles from being acknowledged.
"I'm Killua." He spoke, running on the right side of Gon while (y/n) ran on the left side of the green haired boy.
"I'm Gon and this is Ange!" Gon responded with a bright big smile, causing the girl beside of him to smile and give a small wave.
"Are y'all brothers?" Killua asked, not giving a look this time as he spoke.
The girl laughed at this. "Unfortunately no, although I think Gon here would be an awesome big brother!" The girl beamed which causes Gon to smile in response.
They continued to run as Killua kept calling Leorio old which the girl couldn't help but laugh every single time a joke was said.
They all continued to run, small talk happening in between them. The girl looked around and saw that the running was starting to get to people, some people were sweating buckets while some were heaving.
It was like moments like these where she's glad it was Kite to trained her, in the beginning that's what he forced her to do, run until she couldn't. In the end he was really preparing her for when she had to use nen for hours on end, training her to be able to have the stamina to use and move, so naturally this was nothing but tedious work.
The group were slowly falling to the back until the sound of something dropped. Both (y/n) and Gon looked back to see that it was Leorio who dropped his case.
Gon called out to the man who was eventually coming to a halt, obviously tired from running for hours.
"Leorio! Come on!" Gon encouraged. "C'mon, the ending might be closer than we think!" The girl added, trying to give the man some encouragement.
The girl looked back to Killua hearing him groan. "We're not having fun Ange, Gon c'mon let's leave him." The girl then furrows her brows at him, not appreciating his comment.
"That's enough!" The girl hears then a sudden burst of wind passes her as she hears Leorio speak again "I'm ready to do anything to become a Hunter!
A smile appears the girls face at his sudden burst of motivation.
"Gon! his briefcase!" She calls back to the green haired boy who responds with a nod and casts his fishing pole now securing the case within his grasp.
They both run back to Killua who ended up waiting for them getting on track once more.
"Oh! that's a cool trick! Do you think I could try it sometime?" KIllua beamed at Gon's fishing rod. "Only if you let me try your skateboard!" He replied to Killuas request.
"If you wanna try Ange you can too!" Gon also spoke which caused the girl to smile a toothy smile. "Really! that'd be so cool!" She beamed, star eyes evident.
"You can try my skateboard to if you want, but it won't be my fault if you fall." The silver haired boy spoke, adding to Gons words. "If that's okay with you! That's so cool!!!" She exclaimed.
"It's settled, I declare you both my new best friends!" She gives a closed eyed smile and she points her finger, which points to the both of them.
Pink Instantly reaches the blue eyed boy, never meeting such a group of bold individuals before.
"Really! I never had a friend before, let alone two best friends!" Gon beamed in response matching the girls enthusiasm.
"Yeah, whatever." Killua quietly responded to the both of them while resuming focus on the task at hand.
It wasn't much later that a small round kid with slick black hair and a computer dropped out, just before stairs came into view.
"Gon, Ange, let's race." Killua said with a small grin plastered onto his face.
(y/n) and Gon nod their head at this, taking the Exam and turning it into their own fun.
They ran, dodging people and slipping under and even hopping over people to get to the front of the crowd, skipping steps in the process till the three of them reach the Examiner.
"I didn't even notice we were in the front!" Gon laughs before Killua cuts him off, "It's because the rhythm isn't very fast, in fact not moving the fastest is way more tiring... The Hunters Exam seems really accessible but in reality it's not funny."
Killing the mood slightly (y/n) speaks up, "So why exactly do you want to be a hunter?" The girl questions.
"I don't really want to be a hunter, I've just heard that is was something extremely hard and I thought that sounded interesting, but frankly i'm disappointed." He finishes with a slight grin.
"Well this is only the first phase, maybe the fun will start soon!" Gon spoke, beating (y/n) to say the exact same thing she was going to say.
"What about you Gon, Ange?" Killua retorted springing the question on the pair which stood on either side of him.
Gon looked at the girl, signaling for her to speak first.
"Well it wasn't even my idea at first, until four months ago I didn't even know there was a Hunters Exam or that hunters even existed. I guess I'm here to prove that I am strong and that I am in control of my destiny!" The girl responded even though she was caught off guard she couldn't have said it better.
Killua nodded, a certain look glossed his eyes but she couldn't tell what it was or meant.
They both then turned their heads to look at Gon signaling that it was his turn to speak.
"My father is a hunter! My goal is to be a hunter just like him!" He simply states with a big smile.
"What kind of Hunter is he?" Killua asks simply. "I don't know!" Gon then scratches the back of his head while Killua busts out laughing.
"That's not ordinary!" The three of them laugh as Gon goes into more detail about how he was raised by his aunt and that he had only seen his father in photos.
"Look! The exit!" The girl suddenly shouted, gaining the attention of her companions.
"I'll race y'all!" The girl shouts as she speeds off away from them, but only to have them catch up with her within seconds.
The three of them simultaneously reach the outside, the new light burning their eyes momentarily.
"This is the Crooks' nest, this is where the second round wll stand. The rare animals you will find in the marsh will eat humans for lunch, losing the way will result to death!" The examiner spoke with not much emotion to prove.
Looking across the land and then back to her knew companions the girl smiles, knowing that no matter what from now on, she wouldn't be alone, not that she now has friends to complete the Exam with.
