LISA

"You knew each other?" Taehyung said, fully amazed.

"We went to the same university," Jisoo answered sternly.

"Please excuse us," I quickly grabbed Jennie's hand and pulled her to the bathroom not minding how Taehyung looked at us with his questioning eyes. I slammed the door close and locked it. If there's one thing that I'm feeling right now, that would be anger.

The good thing is, I'm good at controlling myself that's why I'm still calm.

But not too calm.

"Lisa—"

"You're getting married? With my cousin? Life must be joking with me," I started while I combed my hair using my fingers and lightly pulled it out of frustration. Jennie stayed silent, her eyes on the floor.

"Why did you do it Jennie? Why did you abruptly cut ties with us? With me?! I've been worried about you for a year and I've been living my life in search for an answer to what you've done. And now you're just here living a good life not minding how many people had suffered from longing when you left without even saying goodbye?"

"I'm sorry—"

"Sorry? Do you think that word is enough to make things up? Tell me, am I that easy to forget? Am I that easy to abandon?"

"No. You're wrong. I'm sorry for leaving without even saying goodbye. It was all...it just happened. Something bad happened and I almost lost myself in the process," Jennie made contact with my eyes. Tears are streaming down her face. I felt a sudden pinch in my heart but I couldn't shed tears anymore. I've been so done with crying every night ever since she left me.

"Lost? Are you making fun of me? How can someone who feels so lost be here in LA attending a party and getting engaged the next day? How can a lost person be still in track of her passion by showing up in every fashion show and getting more exposure through modeling in various magazines? Am I a joke to you?!" I raised my voice, a little bit higher than my usual. I think my heart is going to explode because of the fire burning in my chest while words flow like a river through my mouth and I just can't seem to stop.

Jennie couldn't find words to speak. She hugged me and she buried her face on my chest. All I can hear was hear loud sob and it somehow calmed me making me realize what I am doing.

"Jennie, how can you hurt me this much? Can't I even know the reason? Don't I deserve an explanation? Hmm?" Jennie pushed herself away from me. She wiped her tears and stared at my eyes intently.

"The night before graduation, my grandma died. And the day after, my dad got diagnosed with cancer. It's incurable," she stopped trying to cool down for a bit.

"That's why I'm granting his last wish before he dies. I have to marry the guy that he chose to become my husband."

I felt like I've been shot by multiple arrows and my body suddenly feels numb. Tears escaped from eyes. I didn't know that I'll ever cry again. All because of her.

After saying those words, she walked towards the door but before she could unlock the door, I spoke again.

"Have you ever tried to tell your dad about us? Have you ever considered the possibility that he could've been just afraid of your future that's why he chose someone who will be a good partner to you? You told me that you're the happiest when you're with me. Don't you think your father will be happier if you're with the person who makes you feel like home? Aren't I that person anymore? Don't you love me anymore? Answer me Kim Jennie."

A long and cold juncture engulfed the whole place. I can only feel my heavy breathing and the loud thud of my heart. After a few minutes, Jennie spoke.

"I don't... I don't love you anymore."

I suddenly find it hard to breath upon hearing those words. It just came out from her mouth. It just did. It's dead end. We're over. She doesn't love me anymore. That's it. That's the end of it. The end of us.

I didn't know that love can be too painful at times. I didn't know that love can be this suffocating.

I cried my heart out and stayed at the comfort room for a few more minutes. I fixed myself before going out. Jisoo might be really worried about me. I texted her that I'll be getting a drink.

I sat on the stool and asked the bartender for the strongest drink that they have. He was hesitant at first but when he saw how puffy my eyes were, he immediately placed a glass of liquor in front of me. I drank it in one gulp. I can feel my throat burning and the heat spreading all over my body. I asked for another, and another, and another, until Jisoo found me trying to drown myself in alcohol.

"Easy there, mate."

"She told me...she doesn't love me anymore," I laughed sarcastically.

"Jisoo-yah, she doesn't love me anymore! I'm finally free."

Jisoo looked at me with pity in her eyes and doubt in words that I relayed.

"She said that?"

"Yeah. I asked her and she told me that. She didn't even think hard upon answering me. Don't worry. I can get over this. This is just a piece of cake," I responded before I drank another glass and asked for more.

"Well, there's only one way to check if what she said was true," she said as her gaze passes through me as if she was waiting for someone to turn her attention on us.

"How?"

"Come closer," Jisoo said in almost a whisper.

"This close?"

"Closer," I did what she told me to do. Our face was already too close to each other, our nose are almost touching.

"Is this close enough?" I whispered.

"Yeah," she said still looking at the people behind me.

"What now?" I was surprised when Jisoo looked at me straight in the eyes then she smirked. I know I'm a bit tipsy but I still can't deny how beautiful she is. Men and women will really fall for her in just three seconds of having eye contact with her.

"This," my eyes widened when Jisoo placed her hand at the back of my neck and pulled me for a kiss. I was taken aback with what she's doing. I don't even understand why my lips are responding to her kisses. She's like a pro who is maneuvering the intimate gesture that we're doing. I was about to pull myself away when Jisoo bit my lower lip and just like a thief she slid her tongue into my mouth which made me let out a moan.

The next thing I knew was that my hands were already on her waist pulling her closer to me and feeling all turned on not minding how many eyes are watching us.

"Intense, eh?" I suddenly got back to myself when I heard Taehyung's voice. Jisoo and I abruptly stopped what we're doing. She even winked at me before I turned my gaze to the persons who interrupted us. My eyes immediately landed on Jennie who is currently looking at me furiously.

Is she affected? Is this Jisoo's way of checking things? This is better than I expected. But Chaeng will surely kill me if she finds out that Jisoo kissed me!

"Sorry, things got hot that I didn't feel your presence earlier," Jisoo responded while eyeing Jennie who's currently locking her raging gaze on me.

"Sorry for interrupting but I just wanted to invite you upstairs. We got drinks there too,"

"Sure, let's go Chu."

Feeling high-spirited because of the alcohol that I consumed, I found myself placing my hand on Jisoo's waist while taking the way upstairs.

I can still feel Jennie's stare on us in a very great degree. We sat in front of them while we continued our act. I let myself got wasted. I didn't bother eyeing Jennie because I might not be able to control myself and I might end up taking her away from here.

"Oh chuuu, I just—I mean I'll go out for a minute to answer this call from the company."

Jisoo kissed my cheek before I found myself walking toward the empty balcony. I was welcomed by the cold breeze but I still feel like burning because of the alcohol in my system.

"Okay. I'll be able to meet with the investors because I'll be back on Monday. Just arrange the schedules for me. Thank you," I ended the call and put my phone back in my pocket. I took a step back until I touched the wall. I closed my eyes and rested my head on the hard surface feeling the breeze on my skin.

I felt some discreet footsteps nearing my spot. I smiled unconsciously at the thought of Jisoo following me over. I didn't open my eyes although I can already feel a minty breath verging on the tip of my nose.

"I know I'm hot, Chu. So stop staring at me like that," I slowly opened my eyes but to my surprise, it isn't Jisoo.

It was Jennie Kim looking at me with all seriousness in her eyes.
