The number 17 car pulls into the pit road before coming to its pit stop.
"Jack, you realize you got this in the bag, right?" Buddy Hubbard asks Jack Toretto as he unclips the net on Jack's window.

Carrie Davis tosses a water to Buddy before Jack takes the water that Buddy offers him. "Season's wrapped up, man. Doesn't matter where you place."
"I'm telling you, I got intermittent miss," Jack says as he hands the water back to Buddy, who tosses it to Carrie. "The last two laps."
"On it!" Buddy says before turning to one of the pit crew members. "Get those plug wires!"
"Jakob! Now," Jack yells at his youngest son, who happens to be the crew member that Buddy was yelling at. Jakob nods before raising the hood of the car as Dominic, Jack's oldest son, rushes over.
"Hey, Pop," Dom says as he leans against the window. Carrie smiles as she does every time she sees the three Toretto men in their element.
"Tell me what you see Dom," Jack orders as he looks at his son proudly.
"Got an oil spill going into turn two," Dom explains as he begins to list everything that he has seen. "Bell's driving safe. Corbin's got a sponsor in the stands, so he's pushing it. You got a real problem with car 23."
"Linder," Jack says with a nod as he has seen it too. Linder's crew starts yelling at Dom, causing Carrie to yell at them. Dom begins to argue with Linder's crew, who are two spaces back. "Hey! Leave it. You too, Carrie. He's just pissed because I got that spot in the Busch Series next season, not him. Life's got no shortage of guys like Kenny Linder."
"You're good!" Jakob tells him as he closes the hood before patting it, walking over to Carrie before wrapping an arm around her.
"It's not about being the stronger man, Dom," Jack advises his son, who is clipping the net back. "It's about being the bigger one." Jack takes off back onto the track. Linder follows behind him before bumping into the back of another car.
"I swear to god, this guy," Dom says as he shakes his head while watching the race. "Pop, turn two, turn two!"
"Got it. I'm walking him in," Jack says as he drives high on the track. Jack quickly drops lower on the track as he sees the oil spill that Dom had mentioned, causing Linder to drive into it which causes him to slightly lose control and bump into the wall. "Tell me what you see, Dom." Dom quickly moves to where he can see the rest of the track.
"He's gonna come at you for that," Dom says as he keeps looking between his dad and Linder. "Get ready on your left." Carrie notices that Jakob starts to frown before she nudges him.
"Hey, he's got this," Carrie tells him with a smile, which causes Jakob to lightly smile before kissing her on the forehead. Linder drops to Jack's left while Jack looks down at his dash as it begins to make noise. Linder bumps into Jack, causing his car to turn before connecting with the wall as it catches fire. The car rolls as it is hit by another car while Dom rips his headset off before running towards the track with Buddy right behind him. Buddy grabs Dom, holding him back from being ran over as he cries and yells for his dad. Carrie holds onto Jakob as he falls to his knees.
"That's my dad! That's my dad!" Dom yells as Buddy continues to hold him back.
"He's gone! He's gone!" Buddy says as he looks at the burning car in shock.
"We got to get him out of there," Dom says as he fights against Buddy while Jakob stares at the burning car, wondering if it was his fault while Carrie rubs his back in an attempt to sooth him. "We got to get him out of there! That's my dad! That's my dad! That's my dad! That's my dad! Get him out of there! That's my dad!"

ONE WEEK LATER

"There's a couple of release forms we've got to sign," Buddy explains as he, Dom, Carrie, and Jakob walk down the stairs to where Jack's stuff and car is. "Few clearances. Everything else is down there around the corner." Dom follows Buddy while Jakob stops to look around, causing Carrie to stop beside him before Jakob spots Linder walking over to Jack's car. Carrie hasn't hardly left Jakob's side, wanting to be there for him since she knows what it's like to lose a parent.
"Hey. Nobody's supposed to be around here," Jakob says as he walks over while Linder uncovers the burned car.
"You Toretto's other son? You're the useless one, right?" Linder questions as he points at Jakob, who grabs a wrench from a nearby tool chest. "What is that?"
"Get out of here. Go," Jakob says as he motions for Linder to leave, causing Carrie to run off to find Dom and her father.

"So a man can't pay his last respects?" Linder asks as he points at the wrench. "That's what that is?"
"No. No, not you. You're the one that killed him," Jakob answers him as he shakes his head.

"Dom!" Carrie quickly says as she rushes up to Dom. "Come quick. It's Jakob and Linder is there."
"Go find Buddy. Now!" Dom tells Carrie, causing her to nod before she goes to find Buddy.

"No, racing killed him," Linder argues with Jakob. "Look, he knew that I was gonna pit him into the wall. He knew that. Now, I don't know if he dropped gear. I don't know."
"I swear... I swear to God, if you don't get out of here..." Jakob threatens as he walks towards Linder.
"What? What?" Linder challenges him as Dom rushes over before grabbing Jakob's arm.
"Go find Buddy," Dom orders as he takes the wrench from Jakob. "Now!"
"All right, well, now we got the golden boy," Linder says with a chuckle as Jakob walks off before Dom turns to face Linder.
"Leave," Dom tells him, causing Linder to nod his head.
"You here to make threats, too?" Linder asks as he motions to the wrench.
"Leave is a simple word," Dom tells him with a slight shrug.
"Man, what is it with you Torettos where you're all the heroes in your own stories?" Linder asks as he waves his hands around. "Look, I'm gonna tell you a secret. You, your dad, me... we're all stuck, going round and round in the same shitty circle. And we ain't never getting out."
"You ain't half the man my dad was," Dom states as he looks at Linder in disgust.
"At least I'm alive, asshole," Linder retorts, knowing it would anger Dom.
"What did you say?" Dom asks as he squares up to Linder.
"Get off me!" Linder says as he shoves Dom before punching him in the face. Dom swings back with the wrench, knocking Linder to the ground.
"Dom! Dom! Dom!" Buddy yells while rushing over as Dom gets on top of Linder still swinging with the wrench. "Dom, no! Dom! No, man!" Buddy pulls Dom away from Linder as Jakob watches in shock while pulling Carrie into a hug so she doesn't have to see the gruesome sight.

At the police station, the sheriff talks to Buddy while Carrie and Jakob is in the waiting area before Jakob sees Dom having his fingerprints done. Jakob watches in shock while holding Carrie's hand before Dom is placed into a holding cell as Jakob lets go of Carrie's hand.

PRESENT DAY
THREE YEARS SINCE THE BEACH

"Mom!" Amelia screams from somewhere in the house, causing Carrie to quickly wake before grabbing the gun in her nightstand.
"Amelia? Jackson?" Carrie asks as she makes her way downstairs before finding Amelia glaring at Jackson with tears rolling down her face. "Amelia, what's wrong?"
"Jackson said that our dad doesn't love us and that's why he's not here with us," Amelia says as more tears fall down her cheeks. Carrie let's out a sigh because she knew something like this would happen one day.
"Come sit," Carrie says as she points to the couch before Amelia sits down. "You too, Jackson." Jackson sits beside his sister, who shoves him as Carrie sits on the coffee table in front of them while giving Amelia a look to act right. "I guess you are old enough to know the truth now." Carrie sits the gun down before running her hand through her hair. "I met your father when Uncle Vince was in the third grade. That's when Uncle Vince and I became a part of the Toretto family. Your Uncle Dom and Aunt Mia." Amelia nods in understanding because she is intrigued by the story while Jackson just leans back on the couch with his arms crossed. "Your father is Jakob, Uncle Dom's little brother and Aunt Mia's older brother." Jackson leans forward at hearing his father's name. "Your father and I started dating in high school before I started going everywhere with them, including your Grandpa Jack's races."
"Grandpa was a racer?" Jackson asks her confused. "Like NASCAR?"
"Something like that," Carrie answers him with a smile before it turns into a frown. "Your Uncle Dom, your father, and I were at the race where your Grandpa died. Your Uncle Dom went to prison about a week later." Carrie sighs as she thinks back to the past. "I hadn't realized it then but your father had started to push me away. Your Uncle Dom came back before racing your father, who lost the race. By losing the race, your father had to leave. I kept in touch with him the best I could through your Uncle Buddy."
"What happened from there?" Amelia asks as Carrie feels tears building in her eyes before letting out another sigh.
"I was able to see your father one last time before he disappeared," Carrie answers her with a frown, causing Amelia and Jackson to both frown. "He left me a note asking me not to look for him, though I did try. Especially after I found out that I was pregnant with you two." Carrie smiles sadly at her twins. "I wanted him to know you both and be a part of your lives but I never could find him." Carrie's cellphone starts ringing, before she sees Letty's name.
"We're okay, mom," Jackson tells her with a smile as he hugs Amelia.

"Letty, what's wrong?" Carrie asks since she knew that the team is on a mission.
"C, I think you're going to want to be a part of this," Letty answers her with a sigh.
"What's happened?" Carrie asks, knowing the team wouldn't want to pull her in without absolutely having to.
"It's Jakob," Letty finally reveals, causing Carrie to inhale deeply at the possibility of seeing the love of her life again. "Mia is going to meet you at the airport if you are coming."
"I'll be there," Carrie says as she nods, knowing that she owes it to her kids to find their father to bring him home so they can finally be a family.
