Nova was leading the group while Harry and Ron stayed close to Lockhart "This way." They stopped when they saw a discolored material it looked like snake skin. "What is this?" Ron questioned, looking at it in disgust. "It looks like a snake. Bloody hell." He cursed.
"This must be 60 feet long." Harry told them in disbelief. Nova turned around when she heard a thud Lockhart had passed out and rolled her eyes at the coward.
"Heart of a lion, this one." Ron pointed out it happened to quickly Lockhart's hand shot up grabbing Ron's wand he pointed it at the children "Venture ends here, children, but don't fret. The world will know our story how I was too late to save the girl. How you three tragically lost your minds at the sight of her mangled body." He told them pointing the want at them he was going to obliviate them all. "You first, Miss Potter. Say goodbye. To your memories." he cast the spell which backfired due to Ron's wand being broken rocks began collapsing forming a barrier between them nova was the only one capable of getting to ginny.
Lockhart was still just as useless without his memories "you two try move all the rocks i'll go get ginny." Before they could respond she had run off.
She ran until she reached a door with snakes on it 'open' she hissed and it did as told. As she entered the chamber she noticed Ginny's body laying in the middle of the floor unmoving she ran towards it as fast as she could.
When she reached her friend, Nova knelt beside the girl shaking her "Please don't be dead. Wake up ginny. Wake up. Please wake up." Nova begged.
"She won't wake." Nova jumped when she heard the voice. "Tom Tom Riddle?" she recognized him from the diary her and harry had found but how was he here how was he so young. "What do you mean she won't wake up? She's not-" Tom began walking towards her. Something was wrong and she got that dark feeling just like she did last year when Voldemort was around.
"She's still alive. But only just." was all he said. "Are you a ghost?" she asked the older boy. "A mere memory preserved in a diary for 50 years."
Nova dropped her wand and grabbed her friend's hand "She's as cold as ice. Please don't be dead. Wake up. You've got to help me tom this basilisk-" Tom cut her off "It won't come until it's called." Nova looked up from Ginny "Give me my wand, Tom." she demanded darkly.
"You won't be needing it." "Listen, I don't know who you are or what your up to but i've gotta save her." Nova said while standing up coming face to face with riddle.
"I'm afraid I can't do that, Nova. You see, as poor Ginny grows weaker. I grew stronger. Yes, Harry, it was Ginny Weasley who opened the Chamber of Secrets." "Not willingly , she couldn't. She wouldn't." "It was Ginny who set the basilisk on the mud Bloods and Filches Cat's Ginny who wrote the threatening messages on the walls." "Why?"
"Because I told her too. I find I can be very persuasive. Not that she knew what she was doing. She was, shall we say, in a kind of trance. Still, the power of the diary began to scare her and she tried to dispose of it in the girls bathroom. And then. Who should find it but you and your brother? "he certainly did keep an annoyingly close watch on me after that. I knew it wouldn't be safe to open the chamber again while I was still at school, so I decided to leave behind a diary, preserving my 16 year old self in its pages so that one day I would be able to lead another to finish Salazar Slytherin's noble work."

"You're the heir of slytherin." she accused. "Surely you didn't think I was going to keep my filthy Muggle father's name? I fashioned myself a new name, a name Wizards everywhere would one day fear to speak when I became the greatest sorcerer in the world."
"You really think you're so great your a half-blood just like me don't even have a nose and may i point out my muggleborn mother may have died but she's the reason you have no powers what's to stop dumbledore from getting to you?"
"Dumbledore's been driven out of this castle by the mere memory of me." "Unlike you he shall return." Nova began to hear the sound of Fawkes Dumbledore's phoenix who held the sorting hat in its beak and dropped it in the girl's arms..
"So this is what Dumbledore sends his great defender. A songbird and an old hat.'' Voldemort walks away from the girl and faces the statue of Salazar slytherin and begins speaking parseltongue the mouth begins opening. "Let's match the power of Lord Voldemort, heir of Salazar, slytherin against the famous nova Potter." 'shit' nova mutters as she realizes what it is and begins to run.
Nova had ended and just as she was thinking this was it the basilisk would get her Fawkes literally swooped in saving her by clawing the basilisk's eyes meaning it was no longer capable of petrifying people.
"Your bird may have blinded the basilisk but it can still hear you." Riddle shouted to her. Nova jumped back up running through the tunnels trying to escape the basilisk not far behind she ran into a possible escape but it was blocked off the creature began closing in on her slowly crouching down she grabbed a nearby rock and threw it into the distance.
She ran back to wear riddle and ginny were and crouched down by her friend.
"Yes, Potter, the process is nearly complete. In a few minutes, Ginny Weasley will be dead and I will cease to be a memory. Lord Voldemort will return. Very much alive." he told her. "Ginny?" Nova tried once again to wake her.
The basilisk burst up screeching causing nova to jump away from ginny when she looked around spotted a gleaming object poking out of the sorting hat and grabbed it running to climb up the statue. But the giant creature had spotted her and attempted to get her as she climbed higher and higher until she had reached the top. Walking closer to the edge she swiped the sword at the basilisk making it retreat slightly before it went for her again knocking her over the sword slid from her hand.
Nova jumped up again just in time to grab the sword which was about to slide off. The giant snake went for her, its mouth open nova stabbed it through the roof of it mouth she pulled the bloodied sword out watching as the basilisk collapsed. With her adrenaline pumping she had only just noticed the giant fang sticking out of her arm which she pulled out grunting in pain. The potter didn't waste time in sliding down the slytherin statue down to Ginny who she collapsed by in pain.
"Remarkable, isn't it? How quickly the venom of the basilisk penetrates the body. I guess you have little more than a minute to live. You'll be with your dear Mudblood mother soon funny the damage a silly, little book can do. Especially in the hands of a silly little girl." Tom grinned at nova but it soon fell as he noticed her hand raised above the book with the fang.
"What are you doing? Stop no." she brought her hand down stabbing the book ink began splattering everywhere voldemort began disappearing. Nova grinned as she repeatedly stabbed it "Karma's a bitch riddle. Riddle soon disappeared fully, making her turn her attention to Ginny who began waking up less pale.
"Ginny?" "Nova?" "It was me, but I swear I didn't mean to. Riddle made me. Nova? Your arm."
"Don't worry. Ginny, you need to get yourself out. Follow the chamber and you'll find ron." she instructed the younger girl before Fawkes was sat beside her. "You were brilliant, Fawkes .I just wasn't quick enough." the bird began crying on her arm causing the tears to heal her arm.
"Phoenix tears have healing powers thanks. It's alright ginny. It's over It's just a memory." she reassured the girl.
"You all realise, of course. But in the past few hours, you have broken perhaps a dozen school rules." "yes sir" they all muttered.
"There is sufficient evidence to have you all expelled." "Yes, Sir."
"Therefore. It is only fitting. That you all receive. Special awards for your services to the school." the three children grinned at each other "Thanks."
"Now Mr Weasley, if you would have an OWL deliver these release papers to azkaban I believe we want our gamekeeper back." Ron grabbed the papers and ran off to the owlery.
"Nova? First I want to thank you, nova you must have shown me real loyalty down in the Chamber nothing but that could have called Fawkes to you And second I sense But something is troubling you am I right?"
"Yes sir I couldn't help but notice certain things certain similarities between Tom riddle and me"
"I see well you can speak Parseltongue nova because Lord Voldemort can speak parseltongue If I'm not mistaken he transferred some of his powers to both of you the night he gave you those scars."
"Voldemort transferred some of his powers to us?'' both potters asked.
"Not intentionally but yes." Dumbledore replied walking around his office.
"So the sorting hat was right, I should have been in slytherin." Harry asked while Nova stayed silent processing it.
"It's true Harry you both possess many of the qualities that Voldemort himself prizes Determination, resourcefulness and if I may say so, a certain disregard for the rules. Why then did the sorting hat place you in Gryffindor."
"Because I asked for it too." Harry told the headmaster.
"exactly harry exactly, which makes you different from Voldemort. It is not our abilities that show what we truly are It is our choices.
"Nova I suggest you look more closely at this." Dumbledore gestured to the sword. "It would take a true gryffindor to pull that out of the sorting hat."
The children all sat at the feast hermione in between the twins
"Could I have your attention please?" McGonagall asked her voice loudly in the silent hall.
"Before we begin to feast let us have a round of applause for Professor Sprout and Madam pomfrey whose Mandrake juice has been so successfully administered to all who had been petrified also in light of the recent events as a school treat all exams have been cancelled." Everyone but Hermione seemed to begin to cheer and clap in excitement but all ceased when the entrance door swung open revealing Hagrid making the golden quartet all smile and grin.
"Sorry I'm late, the owl that delivered my release papers got all lost and confused some Ruddy bird called Errol." Ron became red in the face making nova burst out laughing. The half giant walked to the group of four.
"And I just like to say that. If it hadn't been for you, nova ,Harry and Ron and Hermione, of course I would still be you know where, so I would just like to say. Thanks." "There's no Hogwarts without you, Hagrid." Harry told the man grinning nova was the first to hug the half giant.
