Unfortunately he had eidetic memory. No matter how long something had occurred he could remember it clearly, not to mention these events happened in the not too long ago eighth world.
That world was a world of a race of gods. There were nine main Lord Gods which supported the world. They would change with the generations, continuing to prosper.
Bai YueSheng's mission in the world was to "bring on the twilight of the Gods". The meaning approximately was to destroy Midgard, make all nine Lord Gods go to sleep, and open a new age, awakening the new Lord Gods and taking the world into a new cycle.
{T/N: Extremely shaky translation of the world building in this part. Sooooo... what I think is happening is there is a plane where a race of "gods" live, they're a supernatural race kind of like the Asgardians. The main powerful "Lord Gods" are the ones who are worshipped (think Thor, Odin, Loki etc.) whereas the rest of the "gods" just live in the godly plane like regular people. I translated the world as "Midgard", the Chinese is written 中庭 which literally means "middle courtyard" lol, but I googled it and it's been used in translations for Midgard which I think fits the theme. However unlike in Thor, this word seems to be used to describe the godly plane rather than the human plane which doesn't exactly make sense so.... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Just try go to with haha. If anyone has a better explanation please let me know.}
This meant that a war was inevitable, however Bai YueSheng's identity in the world was of the water god Xin Lin. He had a personality that was kind and compassionate, he loved peace and would never start a fight.
As one of the nine Lord Gods, naturally each had their own set roles and tasks in life. So Bai YueSheng couldn't randomly create problems, otherwise he would have his god status removed and killed.
If he died then the mission would fail. So Bai YueSheng had no choice but to pretend to be like the Goddess of Mercy GuanYin, every time he opened his mouth he had to talk about peace, compassion and helping others. Even the Virgin Mary would have paled in comparison!
This kind of godfather-level white lotus, how the hell was he supposed to start a war?
It really was a big problem.
Luckily there was nothing that was completely impossible. When the tenth Lord God appeared it plunged Midgard into not before seen chaos.
In Midgard, the status of the gods was predetermined. The Nine Lord Gods were specifically chosen. Although when they "slept" it was a form of death and rebirth, but regardless of this there couldn't just suddenly be an addition of another Lord God!
But that newborn child definitely had the mark of "awakening". Although right now it was only a toddler, but when it grew up it was destined to become a Lord God. But as for what type of god, nobody knew.
Since their existence, none of the nine Lord Gods had ever heard of a new Lord God.
So regarding the identity of the child, the nine gods were embroiled in an argument that couldn't be resolved.
One side felt that the child was a new god, a Sun God that would lead Midgard into a new age of greater heights, whereas others thought he was the God of Destruction. After awakening he would bring forth the Twilight of the Gods, causing all Nine Gods to fall into darkness.
It should be obvious by now that that child was Lance Steen.
Actually at that time Bai YueSheng couldn't have cared less if the child was the Sun God or the God of Destruction. His main concern was that because of his child's existence, the nine Lord Gods had begun to split and fight with each other. Right now it was only slapping the table and arguing but if the problems continued, starting a real war was not an impossibility.
The Twilight of the Gods would start from a conflict from within. This set up was pretty good.
As the compassionate Water God Xin Lin, of course he supported the notion that the child was kind, that he was the Sun God that would bring about a more beautiful future.
He even put himself forward to be the child's godfather and would be responsible for rearing him.
Actually the first half of their life together was actually quite warm and harmonious, it wasn't until the second half that things took a bad turn. However the end result was acceptable.
Lance Steen really caused the Twilight of the Gods. In order to stop the wedding of the century, he brought on unforeseen destruction and chaos, slaughtered the temple and started the War of the Gods.
Although all of this developed completely not in accordance to Bai YueSheng's plans, however the ironic thing was in this mission he obtained an unprecedented SSS. After the mission he was allowed to visit the Time and Space Bureau once. Not only did he gain a lot of knowledge, but he also developed the desire to become promoted to a main role.
{T/N: I think this means after visiting the Bureau, BYS started wanting to work there as like someone in charge, rather than just being a transmigrator within the system i.e. an employee lol. Hence this promotion mission he's trying so hard to complete.}

He violated Bai YueSheng on the night of his wedding, bathing the premises in death and blood, causing him to become the laughing stock of the entire Midgard.
Although he completed the mission, this was the first and only time in all his lifetimes, that Bai YueSheng died via suicide.

Bai YueSheng walked back into the living room with a normal expression. TangTang rubbed itself against his leg and Bai YueSheng picked it up, holding it in his arms.

It is the same one used for LuoLuo. TangTang means "Sugar Sugar" so I'm assuming it's a girl but since it's a pet could really be anything.}
At this time the kitchen door opened. Father Bai came out holding a plate of freshly cut fruit. He said, "Where's Ah Suo?"
Bai YueSheng said naturally, "In the bathroom."
After that the Lance Steen who was originally in the bedroom really came from the bathroom. He was a god after all, short distance teleportation wasn't a big deal.
Father Bai didn't suspect a thing. He waved his hand. "Come and eat fruit, the oranges are very sweet."
Lance's had quickly adjusted his mood. He smiled and said, "Thank you Uncle."
Father Bai immediately smiled all the way to his eyes.
Bai YueSheng twisted his lips and concentrated on stroking the cat, pretending he couldn't see anything.
Father Bai returned to the kitchen. Lance sat next to Bai YueSheng on the couch. The two people were so close that if one of them suddenly moved they would touch each other.
But Lance Steen didn't didn't do this. His fingers were very long. He picked up a piece of orange and slowly peeled off the skin. The movement was very pretty.
Right now was the right season for eating oranges. The ones that Auntie Yang brought were fresh and ripe, after being cut open they were a very beautiful orange color, bursting with sweet juices, the aroma was very pleasant. The way Lance ate was very clean and pretty. He unpeeled and prepared each piece and then used a small fork to slowly eat each piece. It was easy to imagine the sweetness inside his mouth.
Lance turned to look at him. His handsome brow carried a enticing smile. "Eat some it's very sweet."
Bai YueSheng was slightly moved but he controlled himself. Wasn't it just oranges? He can peel them himself!

His Majesty the God-King was doing quite well. This car didn't look like something owned by a ordinary employee.
Lance said his goodbye to Father Bai and then looked at Bai YueSheng. "I'll be going first."
Bai YueSheng said expressionlessly, "Goodbye."
Lance looked like he wanted to say something else but because there were two other people standing there he didn't. He only looked at him a few more times before getting in the car and leaving.
Father Bai said in a voice filled with emotion, "Ah Suo is such a good child."
Bai YueSheng said in a warning manner, "Auntie Yang seems pretty nice. However this son of hers..."
Father Bai said, "Don't think too much. His father passed away early. His grandmother and grandfather overseas have some family money. But it's for Lance, Yang Rong doesn't get any of it."
Bai YueSheng had a belly full of things to say but unfortunately he couldn't say anything. He could only swallow it back and yell in his heart.
Bai YueSheng asked him, "Will you stay at home tonight?"
Bai YueSheng didn't want to go back to the city so late at night so he said, "Okay."
But he didn't think after he took a shower and crawled into bed that just as he was about to nod off, he was attacked by someone.
At first Bai YueSheng thought it was just fat TangTang coming to share his blanket so he didn't think much of it. Since it was such a gold night, to hug a warm furball to sleep wasn't bad. However although this "ball" really was extremely warm, it was much too big!
Bai YueSheng opened his eyes. Without too much surprise he saw in the cold moonlight face so mesmerizing it could kill someone.
"Lance Steen!"
The man narrowed his eyes. He bit his chest and said, "I knew you wouldn't forget me."
Bai YueSheng said expressionlessly, "Get lost!"
His appearance was extremely threatening. After all when he was the Water God Xin Lin, he was one of the nine Lord Gods. Although his nature was warm and gentle however his long existence at the pinnacle also meant naturally that he possessed a bone-deep pride and hauteur. Although he was disgraced by Lance in the end, however in that world from the beginning to the end, he was Lance's godfather.
Lance was visibly pressured by him but he didn't get down. He only lowered his eyelids slightly and after gathering himself for a moment, he said in a voice that was slightly cold, "Why do you always refuse to look at me?"
This wasn't really a question but a statement.

At last Lance released him and got off the bed.
Bai YueSheng arranged his clothes properly and turned on the light.
The room was filled with light. He needed some time to adjust to the sudden brightness so Bai YueSheng narrowed his eyes and looked at Lance Steen.
The man called the end of days Sun God had a handsome appearance that made people shocked. It carried a sense of brightness and might peoples hearts feel warm. It was a kind of infectious attraction.
Bai YueSheng thought of the youth with the bright, carefree smile in his memory and his heart was unconsciously affected. He said softly, "Why are you here?"
Lance didn't hide it. He said, "After you died, I've been waiting for you here the whole time."
Bai YueSheng asked, "Waiting for me?"
Lance replied, "The Lord Gods don't die, they only sleep. There will always be a day they will awaken, so I could only wait for that day."
Bai YueSheng said suspiciously, "They you should stay in Midgard..."
Lance didn't wait for him to finish. He said, "The Water God Xin Lin woke up. He has returned to his position but he isn't you."
Bai YueSheng understood.
Lance stood there and suddenly smiled. But his smile was full of despair. "You couldn't begin to comprehend my feeling at the time."
After several hundred years, finally the Water God Xin Lin was reborn. Lance had waited and anticipated this day for so long and thought that at last they could be reunited. His crazy joy at that time was something he could never forget. But then when he had seen the awakened Xin Lin he knew emphatically that it wasn't him.
It wasn't his godfather. It wasn't the person he wanted. It was completely wrong.
His immense joy transformed into a terrible disappointment. The terrible feeling of falling from heaven into hell was a sensation that couldn't be described.
That kind of hopeless disappointment lead to despair. It almost took away Lance's will to live.
"Thank goodness..." He looked at Bai YueSheng. "Thank goodness I was able able to find you again."
Bai YueSheng's heart shook but his voice was still peaceful. "But how did you come here?"
Lance hesitated.

Bai YueSheng said breathlessly, "This is my older brother." After that he turned to Lance to introduce Jiang Ming. "This is my former colleague."
Lance and Jiang Ming politely acknowledged each other.

This day was the same as the others. As it was snowing outside, Lance brought a hot and steaming caramel macchiato. Bai YueSheng didn't have much resistance against his kind of milky hot coffee so he picked it up and drank it and was filled with a feeling of satisfaction.
Lance watched him from one side and felt that his face with the half-closed eyes in satisfaction was extremely beautiful to look at. Lance's heart felt it it was being scratched with feathers, from the depths a desire welled up that couldn't be controlled. He came closer to him and leaned down and pressed down onto the wet lips.
"Peng." It was the sound of something falling to the ground.
Bai YueSheng turned quickly and saw Jiang Ming standing in the corridor looking as though he had seen a ghost.
Ah Jiu: "Very good you vixen. Even your brother can't escape your grasp."
