•Hiccup's P.O.V•
I can't wait to finish the year, we all have accomplished a lot together and now we're just steps away to grasp that high school diploma, and off to University or College. I'm planning to leave Berk for university but I'm wondering if this will affect my friendship to Astrid.
We gotten closer each day and I'm beginning to understand her a lot and being supportive of what she's doing. She's strong, compassion, and fearless. But something tells me she's hiding something and she's been dodging the question or changing the subject every time I mentioned about it.
But I know it's her decision to not tell me, maybe she's just protecting me or don't want to feel judge. But if she's ready I can wait, I still love her, I mean like her!!
So right now all of us are in Phys Ed, as my class decided to have fun playing old fashion dodgeball. And guess who's in the other side, Astrid. We kept looking at each other with a cunning smirk, seeing who gets to hit who. Astrid's team is Heather, Snotlout, Jack, Elsa, & Ruffnut.
My team is Fishlegs, Tuffnut, Andrea, Anna, & Cami.
"Come at me bro!!"Snotlout shouted, as he swiftly left and right to avoid being hit.
"Argh!"Ruffnut squeezes her ball and aim it at Snotlout.
"Still Miss sweetheart!"Snot laughs, mocking at Ruffnut but unexpectedly, She hits him while he was too distracted.
I couldn't help but to chuckle at the two. I then look at Astrid as she gave me a smirking look, holding the ball.
"C'mon Hofferson"I taunt playfully"take your best shot at me!".
She clenched the ball and throws it at me which I have dodged it and look back at her with a goofy grin" ha! Miss!".
Then she gave me a sly look and grabbed another ball"oh! I'm gonna wipe off that smirk on your face Haddock!!".
Then Tuffnut was making funny faces at Astrid's team"nah nah nah! Face it!!!You can't hit us-"
Unexpectedly Tuffnut was greatly impacted by two balls, as he collapsed on the floor grunting in pain"oh I'am hurt! I'am very much hurt!!".
I chuckle as we began throwing balls at each other and dodging every single one of them, either of us didn't give up until finally the coach told us our class time has ended.
She starts panting as she walks towards me"I'm gonna get you next time!".
"That was fun!"I smirked, walking beside her"perhaps we can try it again".
She rolled her eyes and hits my shoulder as she walks away"I'll see you after class".
I then roughly rub my shoulder as she is pretty strong, then Jack stood beside me, giving me a smirk that he saw the whole thing going on with me & her.
"She really likes you huh?"Jack teases, as we walk to the locker room.
I couldn't help but to smile"yeah, I guess she does".
"Word of advice Hiccup, if you don't tell her how you really feel, that opportunity slips"Jack said.
"I know"
"And! We need to work on that voice, it's very pitchy!"Tuffnut chirps in, as he was eavesdropping our conversation.
"But this is how I sound"I shrug in annoyance.
"Don't worry Hicky!! Astrid will be yours in no time!"He said, confidently with his arm around my back.
•Astrid's P.O.V•
Today's was okay for me, I had fun. Trying to hit Hiccup but he keeps dodging them balls. We're just weeks away for graduation and I been thinking if I want to attend the prom or not, but nobody hasn't asked me to go with. I wonder Hiccup would, or I should make the first move. But we have been good friends since I transferred here and I don't want to ruined our friendship, but we have done a lot together and our friends know our relationship is special.
I'm currently just debating on what should I do after high school. I know I wanted to go University, but what major should I do. Difficult choice to make and I haven't forgotten that Hiccup didn't tell me what he's doing so it got me deep thinking on what he's planning to do after high school.
I know he's very good with engineering, he's an ace student, I stare down the window and watch the cars driving by on the left side of the back Berk High. I held closely with my hoodie and kept thinking about my past. I tried to avoid thinking those moments but I'm really trying to not let that thing sink in my life ever again.
I then heard footsteps coming closer to me as I turn to see who is that.
"Hey Astrid! There you are!"Heather sighs of relief and smile.
I pop a smile and greet to her"Hey Heather! Sorry I was just in my thoughts. Needed to be alone for a tiny bit".
"Oh understandable!"She said"I'm just checking up on you".
"Thanks for checking"I nod, and look back at the window.
Heather then stand next to me as we see our reflection, she then notice I wasn't paying attention and was in deep into thoughts, as she taps my arm to gain my attention.
"You okay?"She broke the silent, as her eyes looked worried.
I let out a deep sigh"just thinking. I tried not to think about it a lot".
"Thinking about what?"She looks at me"you can tell me anything!".
I then turn to her and look around to make sure nobody isn't around to hear our conversation.
"I been thinking about my first year in high school. I can't stop thinking about my so called friend"I look away"we did something terrible, something that I can't forgive myself to do".
Heather eyes went wide"oh my".
"I felt betrayed. We had a very good friendship going. Since elementary we were friends"I held my breathe"I trusted him, I wish I could've knew what was he up to. Until it was too late".
I look down at my hands as they were shaking"I was so blind that our friendship was fake since we get into things that we weren't supposed to be doing. I just wish I stopped remembering. That's why I transferred here, then Hiccup. We've been really good friends now and I'm wondering if I'm comfortable enough to be something more, it's so silly to talk about this, I think I'm getting attached to him".
I had a single tear coming down on my right eye and held in my tears.
Heather then place her hand on my shoulder"listen Astrid, it's okay to feel this way. It doesn't matter how badly it was, that's life, we face these uncertain times. The decisions we make. What matters now is what future you want. You have a wonderful life here in Berk City! You made a lot of friends! There's a lot of good people here! Just remember we're here for you!"
I look at Heather and smile brightly"thanks Heather, thank you for listening. I never had this kind of talk to anybody about it, other than my Mother".
"What are friends for!"Heather said, cheerfully as she quickly hug me.
After we hug, we start start walking down the hallway as our day was almost over.
"Say! Where is Hiccup"Heather asked.
"He said he was busy with a project from one of his classes"I respond and couldn't help but to smile"I was thinking about hanging out with him today".
"Then You gotta ask him!"Heather pleaded"its time to say how you feel".
"But! I'm too shy, what if it's not the right time to-"
"Listen Astrid! No matter how hard it is you must face it, don't be afraid. It'll work out"Heather comforts me.
"Okay, I will try!"I said confidently"but I'll do it my way".
As the bell finally ring I then make my way downstairs to the front entrance of the school and wait for him to show up.
•Hiccup's P.O.V•
Tucked in my backpack as I got outside as I remembered Astrid wanted to meet here so I waited for her. I then saw her coming outside with a friendly smile, waving her hand as she approaches as I smile back, we then both started walking together and turned left to the sidewalk.
"Hey got any plans right now?"Astrid asked.
"Not really, you?"I respond.
"Nope. I was thinking we should go eat"She suggests, pointing to the different direction from home.
"Alright! Let's go. Where?"I wondered, as we begin walking down the sidewalk.
"Cami told me yesterday there's a new restaurant, it's like 15-20 minute walk, we don't have to take the city bus"She explained, as we make our way to the new restaurant on foot.
We both walk passes by the park as we continue our conversation, without any attention of our surroundings. I notice she was very close on my side, as crowded of people passing by us.
"Jheeeze, such a busy day!"She exclaim, tucking my sleeve.
"We're almost there!"As we finally got to our destination.
"Ugh! Finally!"She praises, slowly letting go of my sleeve"I'm starving!".
"Me too! Let's get our table"We both walked in.
It was a fancy restaurant that was recently opened, we walked inside and saw the interior of the place, it looks really cool and not too big, there were booths though, having this chilling vibes going on. The waitress then guide us to our booth as we made ourselves comfortable.
"This is really nice!!"Astrid glance around in awe"it's too fancy for us!".
"I'm impressed! I hope the food is good"I open up the menu, that the waitress provided us.
"Cami says the perogies are to die for here!"She exclaim, looking at the menu.
"Oooh Alfredo"I was very pleased of the food in the menu.
"We should get appetizers"She points out on the menu.
"Okay, I'm up for it"I smile, closing the menu.
We then made our orders and wait for our food, but this seems kinda awkward for us but I couldn't help but to look at her.
"W-what?"She chuckle, noticing my weird behaviour.
"Oh ugh nothing!"I said, nervously, rubbing the back of my neck"how was your day?".
"It was good! Today was fun. I almost had you though"She laughed.
"It was fun. But I'm sure you'll get me next time"I tease.
She rolled her eyes and smile"oh shut up, how are classes so far?".
"They're okay. I'm just getting ready to finally finish this year"I said, leaning back.
"Ugh same! I just can't believe we're this close on finishing this year. It's like yesterday we just met"She chuckle, looking back at me.
"Can I ask you something?"I asked.
"Sure"
I bit the lower part of my lips and ask this odd question.
"I never really understand, why you can't talked about your past, I'm sure it's not that bad, look at me! I nearly lost my left foot and I hope it won't happen again!"I pointed down.
She rolled her eyes"i just don't want to talk about it. It....sorry..."She looks away.
"Hey...it's okay...sorry I brought it up"I assured her"I just wanted to know, but it's up to you if you feel comfortable on talking about it, I respect your decision".
"I never told anyone besides my Mother"She brush her stray of hair and look over at the window"sometimes it's best to keep things away from people you loved, I mean!!....yeah!".
"Love!"I tease, kicking her foot"so...who's making the first move then".
"Oh stop! You muttonhead!"She laughs, kicking back"you know what I mean!! I really enjoy spending time with you! You make me feel safe!".
I couldn't help but to smile"I'm always here for you Astrid".
"Oh Hiccup"She muttered, smiling at me as I felt blushing as I tried not to be too awkward and keeping my cool.
I chuckle lightly and couldn't help but to stare at her, just really focused on her sapphire eyes as I was in some sort of hypnotized of her beauty.
