Author's POV
Taani and Rey were sitting in each other's arms on the hospital bed, as Rey cradled the small doll in his arms. She was sleeping peacefully with one hand fisting Rey's thumb. Rey was smiling and kissed her forehead softly while Taani smiled looking at the duo.
Rey looked at Taani, asking her,
"Kya soch rahi ho?"
Taani shook her head keeping it on his shoulder and clutching his hand,
"I can't even imagine hamare baby se dur hona, leave alone dying without seeing his or your face. How much her mother have suffered, nahi? And she must be suffering even after death, worried where her daughter will go? If she would be in safe hands? If she would ever get a family? I am sure even her soul wouldn't be in peace."
Rey nodded in agreement, he sighed saying,
"I just hope that his little angel have all the happiness in this world, uss eiss duniya ki sari happiness mile."
Taani smiled agreeing and said,
"Kuch ajeeb sa connection nahi lagta isse. Jese isse pata nahi kabse jaante ho hum."
Rey chuckled nodding,
"You know, jab she came into this world na, we all stilled ek second ke liye thinking it was you who delivered the baby finally. But then you again screamed and we realised ki that lady gave birth first. Iske aane pe na, mujhe ek second ke liye vo feeling aayi thi ki now I am a father."
Taani looked at him with an amused smile on her face,
"Kutna ajeeb nahi hai, You said you felt like you finally became a father, we met her today, aaj Christmas hai and she was born just half an hour before him. Jese twins ho, nahi? Or abhi when I was feeding her na, mujhe sach mein aisa laga ki main hamari princess ko apni arms mein hold kar rahi hun."
Rey sighed asking her, knowing the wheels were turning in his wife's mind,
"Tum kya kehna chah rahi ho Taani?"
She looked at him with a sad smile, and said in a small baby voice,
"Mujhe bolne ki zarurat hai?"
Rey looked down at the baby and said,
"Abhi you are emotional jaan, aise time mein decisions lena is not good."
Taani looked down sadly and asked in a broken voice,
"Don't you love her? aapne hi to bola that you felt like a father with her."
Rey chuckled looking at the small baby in his hands and said,
"Of course I love her. Hell, I am feeling like holding a part of me. I am feeling what you are feeling, like protecting her, loving her, giving her everything, being her best friend, protecting her from every guy who would like to woo her, feeding her, making her feel special and treating her like my small princess. But just think once. Ye sab hum dil se soch rahe hain, she would one day grow up, we even have him, agar kabhi aisa hua, hamare pyaar mein farq aaya to? Agar kabhi favouritism hua to? What if we fail to love her as much as we love him? When we know she deserves that love more than anything. Fir kya Taani? And what would happen once she comes to know about it?"
She immediately said,
"To dekh lenge na Rey, aapne hi to bola tha sab sambhal lenge sath mein. Ye bhi sambhal lenge." Rey looked away when she made him face her and said in a soft voice,
"Rey just look at her." Both taarey looked ta the little angel sleeping peacefully,
"We need her more than she needs us. Aap bataiye, kya aapke andar himmat hai isse kisi orphanage mein bhejne ki? Ya kisi or ko isse adopt karte hue dekhne ki? Aap hi bolte the na, you want an angel, a small girl which will be your whole world. Maybe, she is the one. And if we let her go now, we will lose that small angel of ours. God has trusted us with her, nahi to itne sare signs kyu? Inn dono ka same time pe hona just like twins, I feeding her, we feeling the connection, or uska iss duniya mein koi na hona. Don't you think it is fated, we all are fated? Maybe, this is the daughter you always craved for."
Rey felt tears falling down his eyes at her words, her words were true, he knew that but he was just scared. The little angel was os delicate, just like a flower petal, he won't be able to forgive himself if he didn't do a good job in protecting her and loving her. Tanai said softly,
"And we know ourselves Rey, mujhe pata hai aapko kiss cheez ka darr hai. But mujhe humpe pura trust hai, we would love her as much as that little munchkin of ours he would be a mumma's boy and she a daddy's princess always, just like we used to dream of. Our family would be complete. Main zidd nahi karungi Rey, coz I won't be able to forgive myself agar aapki marzi ke bina main isse hamari life ka hissa banalu, but please think about it."
Rey looked ta the girl sleeping peacefully in his arms, she was so soft, so sweet. Her fingers were wrapped around his thumb, and she was dozed off peacefully as if she was in the safest place in this world. She was holding him as if she trusted Rey more than anything and Tanai could see his love for the little girl brimming in his eyes. He looked at Taani and said,
"Tum wives bhi kammal hoti ho na, pura emotional lecture deke brainwash karti ho, or fir bolti ho baki aapki marzi."
Taani looked down sheepishly giggling and said tugging at his arm,
"Did I succeed in brainwashing you?"
Rey shook his head at her childishness,
"Are you sure? There would be no going back?"
Taani looked at the baby,
"More than my life."
Rey said with tongue in cheek,
"Let me make my mind as well, after all sabse zyada responsibility to mujhpe aayegi, handling three kids."
He had a smirking naughty smile when Taani frowned asking confused,
"Three? Kese?"
He raised a brow at her as if silently telling her to guess and she opened her mouth in haw finally realising his inner meaning, she huffed hitting his arm and pouting,
"You are calling me a kid."
He smirked pointing at her and saying wisely,
"You just proved it you know."
Her cheeks heated up and she smiled sheepishly again, before whining and said,
"Mazak mat kariye na, boliye, kya socha hai aapne?"
He looked down and asked with a soft smile,
"Kabhi mana kiya hai tumhe?"
Taani's eyes lit up and she shrieked softly careful enough to not wake her kids up, Rey smiled shaking his head at the childlike woman who was now a mother of his two kids.
Two kids!
He sighed thinking about it, his lips forming a smile at the thought when it went bigger feeling Taani softly kissing his lips thanking him. He kissed her back with the same passion, gobbling her lips. They broke the kiss catching their breaths and said in a hoarse voice simultaneously,
"I love you!"
They smiled widely when Taani said pointing to their baby boy,
"Bring him here please."
Rey nodded, handing her the little girl and walking to the crib, he picked the boy up and went back to the bed and sat beside her holding their baby boy. They smiled looking at the kids, thanking god for this blessing, they sat just like that, Rey looked at her and again kissed Taani's lips making her smile in delight. They sighed breaking the kiss and sat like that holding the babies close to them wishing for their happiness.
