Spencer practically dragged Jaaliyah away. They were now sitting with Olivia when Layla came over.
"Sorry about Asher...I know he can come off" Layla said and Jaaliyah' cut her off
"As racist? Annoying? Obnoxious? Stereotypical?" Jaaliyah stopped when Spencer hit her head.
Asher may have been right about Jaaliyah but it's not about that. It's the principle of the situation. Asher had no idea who Jaaliyah was so he was asking that question based on stereotypes about people from the hood.
"I was just gonna say he's not that bad once you get to know him." Layla explained
"Yeah yeah whatever" Jaaliyah rolled her eyes and Spencer hit her again
"Hit me again and imma put a hole in you." I mushed his head
"You wouldn't do that cause you need me and I need you." Spencer said hugging her. She pretended to be disgusted even though she wasn't.
Jaaliyah wasn't big on love & affection but when it came to people she loved, she didn't mind. Sometimes she did but for the most part she allowed them to touch her.
"Yeah whatever, I just need my wifey." Jaaliyah winked at Olivia
"I think he's intimidated by you...I think they all are"
"Why...? We damn near poor. Barely got enough money to survive while y'all spend money on unnecessary shit." Jaaliyah said and Spencer hit her again. Spencer was never a fan of her blunt mouth.
"Im sick of yo shit" Jaaliyah said then punched Spencer in his chest and Layla laughed
"Look she finally laughed! I might like you Layla. Anyways I can tell y'all feeling each other so imma dip with my wifey to our next class. Spence I'll catch you on the field. Bye Mr.potato head and bye lay lay" Jaaliyah gave Layla a hug and walked off.
"Before you ask...She gives everyone she likes a nickname..." Spencer said and Layla laughed in return

The drill team coaches asked Jaaliyah to do a routine to prove she was worthy of being on the team. Although everyone knew she was worthy, she still had to tryout like everyone else.
As she was about to do her routine the football team came out to watch me til i got done. Olivia had a free period so she also decided to come also.
Olivia was sitting right in front of Jaaliyah. She always loved to watch the younger girl perform. She seemed so happy and at peace while dancing

The drill team coach stared in amazement & quickly said that Jaaliyah could join the team. Next was the majorette team tryouts. Jaaliyah was specifically excited about this tryout. Majorette had her heart to the fullest.

The coach was amazed which wasn't shocking to Jaaliyah. After she finished Spencer and Liv ran up to her tackling the small girl to the ground. They both hugged the girl, showering her with compliments.
"I appreciate the love & support but i kinda have track practice now" Jaaliyah playfully rolled her eyes
"Damn girl you do a lot of stuff" Olivia said as Jaaliyah walked off laughing
Olivia was right, she did do a lot of extra curricular activities but it was only to keep her mind off of her personal life.

📍Crenshaw Park
Jaaliyah, Spencer, and Coop were currently talking about the twos first day at beverly. Spencer had just got done explaining how Coach Baker did him wrong.
"I'm playing for a bunch of guys who don't want me, a coach who said he'd have my back then moved me off the defense and I'm supposed to what? Play along? Help them win their season?" Spencer exclaimed pacing back and forth
"Then dont" coop simply said
"What? Throw the season?!" Spencer stopped pacing and looked at her like she was dumb
"No what she means is make it your season how you did here in Crenshaw" Jaaliyah explained seeing what Coop was trying to say but couldn't put it in the right format
"Dont let no lily white coach- Coop started but got cut off by Spencer
"Hes black" Spencer sighed
"Black? Idk then he might be right" Coop said and Jaaliyah nodded in agreement
"Black, white, plaid, purple it dont matter. Do what you gotta do Spence" Jaaliyah shrugged
"Sooo I know y'all had a regular school day so I ain't finna ask abt that...tell me about these Beverly Hill girls" Coop smirked
"Uh something did happen with Jaaliyah and they skinny" Spencer smiled sitting next to the fem girl and coop on the table
"Skinny?" Coop questioned
"Skinnier than the switch mama Grace used to whoop me with" Jaaliyah said causing them to laugh
"Man I can't...oh and don't think you off the hook jaaliyah. What happened at school" coop then turned to look at the girl so she could answer her question
"Oh nothing much....I made all of the teams so that's good" Jaaliyah only told half of what happened and she knew that Spencer was not gonna let it go.
"Man coop she almost blew this white dude named Ashers head off" Spencer chuckled
"Jaaliyah what the fuck" Coop yelled but was also laughing at the same time
"In my defense he was being racist" Jaaliyah shrugged

The next day
Jaaliyah and Spencer walked out of the house to see Jordan in a bright red car and dressed in all red & black.
"What the hell are you doing man?!" Spencer exclaimed frantically and threw Jordan's red hat off his head
"Im picking y'all up" Jordan said confused on why Spencer just threw his hat
"In your red hat? Your red car ?! You look like a blood poster boy man" Spencer said. At first Jaaliyah was confused but then she had caught on to what Spencer was doing.
"You gonna get your head blown off" Jaaliyah said in a serious tone, playing along.
"I'm just playing" Spencer said and Jaaliyah was laughing my ass off
"Aye I appreciate the ride and all but I can't...my brother needs me to do something." Jaaliyah leaned on the side of the car. She stood up & walked in the opposite direction of the way the two boys started driving in
