Author's POV
Taarey reached home after their shopping session, asking the butlers to bring the bags from the car Rey helped her inside the house taking her towards their room. Both of them entered and he helped her sit down on the bed and gave a glass of water to her caressing her head.
She thanked him and he asked her to take rest, nodding she laid down and he went to freshen up not before smooching her forehead dearly. He pulled the duvet on her and adjusted the temperature of the room before walking towards the washroom to take a bath.
He freshened up and came outside drying his hair. His gaze went to his wife who was sleeping peacefully on the bed, hell tired after their shopping session.
Smiling he got under the duvet with her and supporting his head with his one hand, he caressed her forehead with the other. His gaze went towards her tummy where their baby was sleeping peacefully along with her. smiling he caressed her belly over her dress, his fingers caressing her tummy.
He smiled not finidng any movement which he usually does whenever he touches her belly. Their baby kicks feeling his father's hand there, and Ry would smile proudly but he knew the baby must have slept too.
Chuckling he leaned down and peppered soft kisses over her tummy,
"Come soon meri jaan, dadda can't wait to hold you. And you know, I never knew I would sya this but I am so jealous of your mumma right now. She can feel you inside her, but I can only feel you like this. How unfair. But whatever, you will always reside in my heart and my mind. Please come soon so that dadda can hold you and play with you."
Saying that he again kissed her tummy fondly and this time he noticed a small movement under her hand and she moaned feeling the baby moving. Rey smiled widely knowing his baby recognised him.
He nuzzled his head there when she suddenly moaned this time in pain. Rey frowned seeing Taani in discomfort. He tried to calm her caressing her hair and head but she was continuously moving her feet.
His frown deepened seeing her in pain, getting up he decided to check what was bothering her and was shocked to see her swollen feet when he removed the duvet slightly. He sighed and shook his heat at her,
"Why she nevre tells me whenever her feet swells. Pagal ladki."
This has happened more often, due to pregnancy she usually suffers from swollen feet but she never tells him. She would not even let him touch her feet, don't know due to which orthodox tradition that husbands can't touch their wife's feet. He has told her not to think this way thousand times before still she doesn't listen to him.
Shaking his head, he went to the bathroom and brought out oil with him and sat near her feet. Removing the duvet, he took some oil in his palm and rubbing them he started massaging her feet softly, careful enough to not wake her up knowing she would create a fuss.
He gently massaged her toes, her ankle treating the swell. He could see her frown disappearing as a soft smile came on her lisp in her sleep. He smiled seeing her moaning softly at the sensation. He continued massaging her now treating her leg pain as he knew she would be feeling pain in her legs due to walking for so long.
After he was done, he thanked god that she didn't woke up and going inside the bathroom he washed his hands and coming out laid beside her on the bed taking her in his arms. Taani feeling her presence, turned her body towards him and he cuddled her closer smiling at the fact she can recognise him even in slumber.
He sighed kissing her forehead fondly and muttering,
"Mera pagal bachha! Pata nahi kya karunga main tumhara."
Sighing, he continued patting her head and she slept like a log, soon, even he fell in a deep slumber finding peace in her arms.

Taani woke up sometime during the night. Her eyes opened slowly and she rubbed them, stretching her arms and yawning softly she looked around and found Rey working on his laptop sitting on the sofa near their bed. Smiling she looked at him, and got up. she frowned feeling a oily texture on her feet. Looking at them she realised someone massaged them and immediately realise who must have done it.
Frowning she called out,
"Rey!"
Rey looked up from his laptop and smiled at her, getting up he went towards the bed and kissed her forehead fondly,
"Uth gaya mera bachha."
She hummed forgetting her anger for a moment feeling his kiss and the soft tone, whenever he called her like that she could feel her heart strings entangling creating a soft tune. Still, getting her composure, he asked frowning,
"Aapne mere feet massage kiye?"
He sighed sitting beside her on the bed knowing this was coming, he nodded softly smiling,
"Yes, tumhare feet bahot swell ho rahe the, tumhe pain bhi ho raha tha so I did."
She said whining,
"But Rey mene aapko kitni bar mana kiya hai...."
He didn't let her complete and held her hands,
"Or mene bhi tumhe kaha hai ye sab kuch ni hota. If my pregnant wife is in pain and suffering I will do anything to relieve that pain. Feet massage kuch bhi nahi hai, and Taani c'mon main kyun nahi tumhare feet touch kar sakta. You are mine and if I want I will touch your feet okay, and I am not ashamed to do that. Ye purane thoughts nikal do apne dimaag se."
She tried to say something,
"But...."
Before she could complete, her voice was muffled by his lips. He kissed her on her lips catching her off guard and making her forget her own words. He broke the kiss shortly,
"Ab agar iss bare mein tumne kuch bola to main aise hi chup karwaunga."
Taani gasped still in the effect of the kiss, she again tried,
"Rey par...."
But this time too he held her close and kissed her, this time not softly but passionately taking her breath away. His tongue probed her lips and she gave him entry completely intoxicated in his spell. He kissed her tasting every corner of her mouth and soon getting out of breath broke the kiss before caressing them and asking,
"Or kuch bolna hai aapne?"
Taani denied shaking her head completely under his spell, her eyes were glaced and he could see the love dancing in them. he could see she was aroused with the kiss and was going to move closer to kiss her again when his phone rang. She groaned and he too did, before both chuckled knowing they were frustrated due to being disturbed.
It was his mother's call, he picked it up putting it one speaker,
"Hello maa!"
"Hello meri jaan! Meri pyaari bahu kahan hai?"
Rey frowned and Taani giggled seeing his expressions when he sulked,
"Maa, aap jab bhi phone karte ho, apni bahu ke liye hi karte ho. Fir uske phone pe hi karlete."
Taani tried not to laugh at him and he showed her a glare making her zip her mouth still giggling, his mother said,
"Mene ussi ke phone pe kiya tha but no answering aa raha tha, isliye aapke pe kiya."
Saying that Taani burst out laughing, even his mother laughed and Rey rolled his eyes,
"Wow maa, I feel so loved."
His mother chuckled,
"Why do you need my love when my sweet daughter in law is there to love you."
Taani flushed hearing Avantika and Rey chuckled kissing her cheek and saying,
"Yes she is. Ye lo maa, aap speaker pe ho."
Avantika squealed and giggled greeting Taani,
"Hi meri jaan! Mera grandchild or meri jaan kesi hai?"
Taani said sweetly pouting,
"Dono bahot ache hai maa, bas aapko or dadda ko miss kar arhe hai."
Rey sighed hearing the conversation between her and his mother. He loved the relation his wife and his parents shared, it was so much more special than a woman and her in-laws. He loved seeing them together, what more peaceful can be for a boy, that his life partner and family goes along.
It's a mindset in Indian families that women sacrifice their families and homes after wedding, but no one cares about the men who too have to adjust in the married life having a new person in their home. And on top of that, men are the ones who suffers if there are differnces between the in-laws and a woman, after all, he is the one who is expected to choose one and no one even cares how difficult the decision gets for him. What would a man give to see his life partner and family getting along and not having to choose between the one. Because even if he chooses one, no one cares how difficlut the decision would have been for him, but only gets disappointed when they weren't the one being chosen. If men support their wives, they are henpecked and if they support their mothers and family, they are called 'Maa ke pallu se bandha'. Wasn't this unfair, as they weren't even expected to showcase their emotions openly. They can't even tell anyone about the stress these different sides load upon them.
Rey was hence grateful for the relation between Taani and his mom-dad. He looked at Taani who was talking with Avantika happily and soon heard his mother call him,
"Rey bachha!"
He replied back,
"Ji mom!"
"Beta it's tiem for Taani's baby shower. Your father and me are comin in two days and this Sunday we can have her baby shower. Start with the preparations okay, and even tell the gang okay. Baki main vahan khud aake dekh lungi."
Taarey looked at each other excitedly and Taani screeched,
"Mumma or dadda aa rahe ho..."
Avantika giggled and said,
"Haan meri jaan."
Taani pouted and said,
"Mumma fir aap mere liye vo gond ke laddu bana doge, plz plz. Last tiem vale finish hog aye or mujhe or khane hai, or haan aam ka achar bhi."
Avantika giggled and said,
"Ji meri jaan, vahan aake aap jo bologe main banake rakh dungi or iss bar chefs ko bhi sikha dungi, agar khatm hue to aap unse banwa lena."
Tanai pouted saying,
"Mumma unke haath mein aap jesa magic ni hota na."
Avantika giggled and Rey admired both most important ladies of his life and sighed pulling taani closer as he continued listening the mother-daughetr talk.
