2ND PERSON!

"HELP ME OUT ALREADY!"
You whined, rubbing your temples in frustration.

"What do you need help on?", he sighed, finally caving in.

You tossed your textbook to him, "I forgot the formula for the volume of a conical frustum.", you groaned.

He flipped through the pages of your textbook, "You should know it since you already know the area of a cone.", he scribbled some stuff on the page where the equation was, "Just find the volume of the whole cone and the top of the cone, then subtract the two."

Your eyes widened in realization, "I've already done this before, why didn't I know it?", you said to yourself.

Gakushu chuckled at your forgetfulness, "I knew you were stupid but not that stupid.", he laughed, dragging the 'that'.

"Whatever, you're the one who was struggling to write an analytical paragraph a minute ago."

"That was on a Shakespeare book that I haven't read yet, of course, I wouldn't know it.", he refuted with a frown.

You grabbed his textbook and flipped through the pages, "Your handwriting in English is alright but the spelling is sometimes off whenever you write analytical paragraphs and want to include language techniques.", you criticized, highlighting the areas where you thought he needed improvements.

He looked through his writing, "I don't see a problem with it.", he shrugged.

"You're doing Othello for god's sake, there's so much more development you could go into.", you exclaimed, underlining some words, "Make sure to conclude your paragraph by referring to the context."

"What context should I refer to then?", he questioned, eyes focused on the circles around his spelling mistakes.

"Do it in the context of where Shakespeare lived or the era, do you want me to write down a model answer?", you asked, the boy nodded and you started writing.

He watched as the pen moved across the page, observing your elegant handwriting and perfect paragraphing, "I never knew you were this good at English."

You smiled, not looking up from the page, "There's a lot you don't know about me."

"I know that."

You finished jotting down the final sentence and handed the book to me, "It's not something I'd write in an exam but it's good enough as a structural example."

His eyes darted around the page, "This is good, I had no idea you had it in you.", he exclaimed in surprise.

"I'll try to take it as a compliment.", you rolled your eyes and went back to doing your things.

"Since you helped me out you can as for me to tutor you in anything.", he smiled.

You flipped through the pages in your notebook, "I need help in astrophysics, like the math part.", you hummed, twirling your pen around in your hand.

He walked over to one of his shelves and took out a book, "These are my notes from when we were learning astrophysics, just read over them and it'll help you learn the basics."

You flipped through the large book, "This is way too much! And you wrote all of this.", you shuddered at the thought of how many hours he spent on this.

He had a smug look on his face, "These are just the basics.", he shrugged, his signature smirk on his face.

You glared at him, "I'm not gonna remember any of this when I read it, I just need to know the kind of math used in astrophysics, that's all.", you exclaimed, putting the book back on his shelf.

"Oh yeah, that was on the physics exam.", he sighed and flipped through yet another book, "Find x, y, and z such that x³+y³+z³=k, for each k from 1 to 100. You can do that, can't you?", he asked with a smirk.

"Of course.", you confidently replied whilst fidgeting with your pen, "On the surface, it seems easy. One answer is x = 1, y = -1, and z = 2.", you replied, hastily scribbling numbers down on a blank page.

"But what about the integers for x, y, and z so that x³+y³+z³=42?", Gakushu arched a brow, handing you a calculator, "You can't do it without a calculator, it's practically impossible."

You typed some numbers in the calculator, "Yeah, I know that.", you groaned as you constantly came up with blanks.

"It's trial and error, by the way, it took me two days to solve it."

"I'm guessing your father gave you the question?"

"Yes, but even he couldn't solve it within twenty minutes."

You grit your teeth as you scribbled down more equations, "I'll be able to do it, now that I know that it's trial and error."

"I doubt it."

You smirked as you saw how well everything added up, "It's x = -80538738812075974, y = 80435758145817515, and z = 12602123297335631.", you breathed out.

His eyes widened in astonishment, the girl who was considered a slacker, the laziest person he knew, had solved something so fast that not even his father could beat her.

"Wow, that's amazing, didn't expect you to get it so quick."

You placed a kiss on his cheek, "It's because I'm the best.", a playful smile darted across your lips, "I'm better than you, your father, everyone in school, and everyone in the world!"

Truth be told, at that moment you had the confidence you always wanted.

In reality, you felt like you were stupid, dumb, horrible, all because you knew that others could probably have done better. If your parents were here they would've smacked you across the face because you didn't solve it in under a minute.

All you wanted was to be happy with your accomplishment, but your mind wouldn't let you, self-criticism would probably lead to your demise.
