Vivi: A sea cat!
Usopp/Chopper: <scared> It's a sea monster!
Zoro drew out all of his swords and glared at it.
Zoro: It's our first meal in four days!
Luffy: It's food!
(Y/N) yawned and stared at the sea cat uninterested.
Nami: <looking at the log pose> We're on the right track. I hope we get there soon.
The sea cat looked at Zoro and Luffy's determined faces and slowly backed away, scared.
Zoro: Whoa! It's backing away!
Luffy: Go back! Full reverse!
Usopp: <stuttering> W-W-W-W-W-We can't!
Sanji suddenly appeared and ran towards the cat.
Sanji: Don't let it get away! We have to capture it! Now, how would you like to be cooked, cat monster?!
Vivi grabbed a broom and smacked all three of them in the head, sending them crashing to the floor.
Vivi: You can't!
The sea cat quickly swam away.
(Y/N) sat on the ground and looked at Vivi, confused.
(Y/N): What's wrong, Vivi? It's just a sea cat.
Luffy: Yeah, Vivi, you jerk! What're you doing?!
Sanji: <shaken> W... Why... Vivi-chan?
Vivi: You can't eat it! Sea cats are a sacred animal in Alabasta!
Luffy: Tell us sooner!
Chopper: The sea's full of all kinds of creatures!
Usopp was on the ground, twitching next to (Y/N).
Usopp: You got a ways to go if you're scared of things like that. <gets up> Okay then! Here's a story all about how I bravely fought off sea kings in the Calm Belt.
Chopper: <shocked> Fought off sea kings?!
(Y/N): I've had enough of this.
He stood up and walked over to the very front of the ship and leaned over the railing. He gasped when he saw a bunch of ships in the water. They all had the words "Baroque Works" on their sails.
(Y/N): <to the crew> I think we're getting close to Alabasta now.
Vivi looked surprised when she saw all of the ships.
Luffy: There're so many ships! When did that happen?
Usopp: Hey! They're all flying Baroque Works' colors!
Vivi: Its employees have started gathering. The billions, most likely: the officer agents' subordinates.
Nami: Then there are at least 200 men out there.
Vivi: In point of fact, they're the 200 elites of Baroque Works. The bounty hunters you faced at Whisky Peak don't even compare.
Usopp: Should we fire at them while we can? Let's get the drop on them!
Luffy: It's quicker if we go there and beat 'em up! <stomach rumbles> No, wait! We gotta eat first!
Zoro: Idiot! Don't bother. They're small fries.
(Y/N): He's right. If we focus on them, we'll lose sight of our real target.
Sanji: And if that happens, we're done for. And there's only nine of us.
Timeskip
The crew was now tying pieces of white cloth around their arms.
Zoro: Anyway, tie it tight. Our enemy this time is overly secretive.
Nami: These will help us tell who our real crewmates are.
Sanji: Does that Clone-Clone Fruit guy really become so similar when he transforms?
Usopp: Seeing is believing! It's not just "similar"; it's identical! It's too bad! You should've seen it. We even danced with him.
(Y/N): And I was this close to ending that threat of you idiots would've just let me throw him off of the ship.
Chopper: You're still on about that?!
Zoro: Knowing someone like that is among our enemy, we can't carelessly act alone.
(Y/N): Wait a second, doesn't Mr. 2 have a partner? Where was she?
Vivi: Hm? Oh, you mean Ms. Obon. I've never met her and this was the first time I met Mr. 2, so I don't know. Although there were rumors circulating around Baroque Works that the two hate each other and prefer to work alone.
(Y/N): Does that mean Ms. Obon will be in Alabasta?
Vivi: <shrugging> I don't know. Most likely since this is Crocodile's ultimate endgame.
Chopper walked over to Usopp.
Chopper: Hey, what should I do?
Usopp: Ahh... Do what you can do. You don't have to do anything more. It's okay to run away from an enemy you can't defeat!
Sanji: Are you talking to him or yourself?
Karoo quacked.
Chopper: What I can do, huh? Got it!
Luffy: <shouting> I can see the island now!
Vivi: We'll visit Nanohana, that town ahead, but we need to hide the ship.
Luffy: All right! Anyway, no matter what happens, our left arms prove we're definitely crewmates!
He stuck his left arm out with the cloth wrapped around it. Everyone else did the same including Karoo and (Y/N).
Luffy: Now, let's get ashore! To a restaurant! ...and to Alabasta.
Everyone Else: As a side note?
(Y/N): So my first adventure with you people will be to liberate a country from a Warlord of the Sea? How interesting.
Usopp: It's okay to be scared, (Y/N).
(Y/N): Shut up. 💢
Nami: <to Luffy> Our enemy this time is a group of assassins, Luffy.
Luffy: Yeah. That's right.
Nami: Be careful about acting on instinct, okay?
Luffy: You're right. I got it. Yeah! That's right! Yeah! Got it!
The Going Merry was soon stopped near the town of Nanohana, hidden behind rocks. However, the crew could still see the town.
Usopp: So this is one of Alabasta's cities?
Luffy: <mouth watering> Food!
Nami: Listen, guys! Think before you leap instead of acting on instinct!
Sanji: Yes, Nami-san!
Zoro: The guy who most needed to hear that is already gone.
Everyone looked and saw Luffy off of the ship and running towards the town.
Luffy: <shouting> Food shop!
Nami: <mad> Get back here! 💢
Everyone besides Nami sweat dropped.
Usopp: Nothing but instinct...
(Y/N): I take it he does that a lot.
Nami/Usopp: Yes...
Vivi: What should we do?
Sanji: Don't worry. Find the biggest commotion, and you find him.
He got off of the ship.
Usopp: <annoyed> Bingo.
Nami: Ugh! He needs to be more aware of that bounty on his head, especially in a big country like this!
Zoro: <getting off of the ship> Don't worry about him. Let's just eat first. We'll strategize more after that.
Chopper jumped off of the ship after Sanji and Zoro.
Nami: They're all the same...
(Y/N): Aren't we supposed to not draw attention to ourselves?
Nami: Good luck explaining that to them.
Vivi: Speaking of that, Karoo and I can't go with you. I'm too recognizable here.
Zoro: <on the ground> Very true.
Sanji: <on the ground> Don't worry! I'll buy a little something for you too, Vivi-chan!
Karoo looked at something and quacked, alarmed.
Vivi: What's wrong?
Karoo pointed to a ship a few ways away from the Going Merry. It had the words "Mr. 3" on it.
Vivi: <shocked> Mr. 3's ship!
Usopp: That creep didn't kick the bucket after all?!
Vivi: No mistaking it! His ship runs on the power of his Wax-Wax Fruit!
Sanji: <on the ground> The bastard's here?
Zoro: This is bad. He's seen our faces.
(Y/N): So that ship belongs to the Mr. 3 you told me about?
Nami: Yeah, the one we met on Little Garden.
(Y/N): You know, this wouldn't be a problem if you just stuck a sword in him.
Nami/Usopp/Vivi: <scared> So violent!!
(Y/N) rolled his eyes and got off of the boat.
Timeskip
The crew (minus Luffy) were now in Nanohana. Sanji had gotten everyone clothes to help them blend in. He also got some food. They were all next to a wall.
Nami and Vivi were both in revealing outfits.
Nami: Wow! These are beautiful! I love these kinds of clothes!
Vivi: While I realize I asked you to shop for us, Sanji-san, aren't these outfits for dancer girls?
Sanji: <heart eyes> And they look amazing on you!
Vivi: I asked for ordinary civilian clothes...
Sanji: <blushing> Dancers are civilians too!
Vivi: But we have to cross a desert...
Sanji: Don't worry! If you get tired, I'll carry you!
Vivi: <annoyed> Truly a lost cause.
(Y/N): For god's sake...
Sanji: <to the men> But, compared to them, you guys just look like a couple of bandits.
Zoro: What, and you don't?
Usopp: Chopper! What're you doing?
Chopper was on the ground, holding his nose.
Chopper: It reeks...
Sanji: That reminds me, where did you go?
Chopper: Various places...
(Y/N): Is he sick?
Sanji: Oh, the perfume's getting to him.
Nami: Perfume?
Vivi: Oh, right! Tony-kun has a sensitive nose! They are often very potent.
Nami: <smirking> Like this?
She sprayed perfume on her neck, right next to Chopper, making him freak out.
Chopper: <angry> STOP!!
Sanji: <heart eyes> My love greatly deepens, Mellorine!
(Y/N): <annoyed> Jesus Christ.
Zoro: You always this idiotic?
Sanji glared at Zoro.
Usopp: In any case, we've accomplished our first goal of gathering supplies.
Nami: Vivi, where did you say we're headed?
Vivi: First of all, we have to stop the rebels before they bathe this land in blood! So we're going to their base and find their leader. It's an oasis known as Yuba. And going to Yuba means—
Zoro: <interrupting> Hey! Hide!
He quickly pushed the group behind the wall.
Nami: What for?
Usopp: What is it?
Zoro: It's the Navy. What are they doing here?
Vivi: <shocked> The Navy?!
The group heard voices and yelling.
(Y/N): It sounds like there's a big commotion going on.
They heard a Navy officer shouting.
Officer: <far off> Don't let him escape! After him!
Sanji: Some idiot pirate must be running around town or something.
Everyone: Idiot pirate?!
Officer: <far off> Get back here, Straw Hat!!
Luffy ran in front of the wall.
Everyone: <angry> It's you??!!
Luffy: <noticing Zoro> Heya! Zoro! <sees the rest of them> Oh?! So you're all here?!
He started running towards them.
Zoro: You idiot! Ditch those guys first!
The Marines followed him. They also saw the crew.
Officer: There're the Straw Hats! Over there!
(Y/N): Well, we're screwed.
Usopp: Okay, so... what now?!
Nami: We run, obviously!
Vivi: Hurry! To the ship!
Luffy: What're you doing?! Let's get back!
The crew ran with Luffy, while the Marines chased them all.
(Y/N) looked back and saw a tall, gray haired man with cigars in his mouth running with the Marines. He looked like he was the leader.
Luffy: <sees the man> W-Whoa! Here he comes!
???: White Blow!
His fist shot out with smoke trailing behind it.
???: You're mine!
(Y/N): What the hell?
Suddenly, the crew heard another voice.
Voice: Heat Haze!
A shot of fire came out of nowhere and hit the hand with smoke.
The fire and smoke cleared away, revealing a young man standing in front of the crew, blocking the Marine man from getting to them. He had black hair, wore a hat, shorts, and was shirtless.
Cigar Marine: You, huh?
???: <grinning> Give it up. You may be smoke, but I'm fire. We're too evenly matched to settle things between us.
Zoro: He has Devil Fruit powers?!
Usopp: Who is he, anyway?! Why's helping us?!
(Y/N): <thinking> They both have Logia Devil Fruits!
Luffy: <shocked> Ace?!
The young man turned around and smirked when he saw Luffy.
Ace: You haven't changed a bit, Luffy.
Luffy: Ace?! Is that you, Ace?! You ate a Devil Fruit?!
Ace: Yep! The Flame-Flame Fruit!
A Marine yelled out to the cigar one.
Marine: Captain Smoker! Securing the perimeter!
Ace: No time to chat! Get moving! I'll catch up! Leave them to me! Go!
Luffy: <running> Let's go!
Nami: Huh? Who is that guy?!
The crew started running away from the scene.
Chopper: We're leaving the island already?!
Vivi: No, we're going to sail the ship up the river into the interior. The desert lies beyond that! We just stopped in Nanohana for supplies!
Usopp: Hurry! The Navy is coming!!
(Y/N): We have to get aboard and hoist the sails!
Luffy: <smiling> Geez... I never thought I'd meet you here, Ace.
As the crew got the ship ready to depart, Vivi told Karoo to go and tell her father that she's still alive. Karoo quacked and quickly ran off with a barrel of water around his neck.
Vivi: Conserve water!
Sanji kicked Luffy on the head while he was drinking from a big barrel of water.
Sanji: That goes for you too!
Usopp: You idiot! We just bought that water!
Timeskip
As the ship was leaving the town, Luffy told everyone who Ace was.
Everyone: <shocked> Big brother?! That was your big brother?!
Luffy: Yup.
Zoro: Well, I'm not surprised that you have a brother but what's he doing on the Grand Line?
Luffy: He's a pirate. He's after the One Piece too. Ace is three years older than me. He left the island three years earlier.
Sanji: Imagine that. Two brothers who both ate a Devil Fruit.
Luffy: Yeah, I couldn't believe it either. Even when Ace hadn't eaten a Devil Fruit and I had, I still couldn't beat him up. He's tough, that Ace!
Nami: Y-You couldn't beat him? A normal person?!
Usopp: I guess the big brother of a beast is an even bigger beast.
Luffy: <laughing> Yeah, I was such a loser. <laughing> But now, I can beat him.
(Y/N): Do you even have anything to base that on?
Just then, Ace appeared out of nowhere and landed on the railing that Luffy was sitting on, knocking him over.
Ace: Who can you beat?
Luffy: ACE!!!
Ace: Hey. <to the crew> Greetings, all. Thanks for looking after my kid brother.
Everyone: Don't mention it.
Luffy: What are you doing in Alabasta, Ace?
Ace: Huh? Didn't you get my message on Drum Island?
Luffy: <confused> Message?
Ace: Never mind. It's no big deal anyway. But I'm glad I got to see you. I'm here resolving a minor matter of business... and I wanted to see you.
(Y/N) noticed something on Ace's back.
(Y/N): Is that what I think it is?
Everyone looked at him.
Nami: What is it, (Y/N)?
(Y/N): <to Ace> Is that thing on your back Whitebeard's mark?
Usopp: <shocked> Wait, whaaat??!!
Ace: <chuckles> You have a sharp eye. Yeah, it is. Funny thing is, I was just about to mention it. Luffy, how 'bout joining Whitebeard's Pirates? Your friends can come too.
Luffy: <bluntly> No thanks.
Ace: <laughing> Well, just thought I'd ask.
Usopp: <scared> Whitebeard... So that tatoo on your back really is his mark?
Ace turned around and showed it to the crew. It was a face with a long, white beard in front of a cross of bones.
Ace: Yes, and I'm very proud of it. Whitebeard is the greatest pirate I've ever known. I'm gonna help him become King of the Pirates. It's not gonna be you, Luffy!
Luffy: Okay by me! Then I guess we gotta fight!
(Y/N): He really is a member of the famous Whitebeard. <thinking> I'm already meeting some powerful people out here. And a crew member of one of the Four Emperors no less...
Sanji sat on the stairs and lit his cigarette.
Sanji: <to Ace> Why don't you sit down and talk? I'll make some tea.
Ace: Don't bother. My business here is almost finished.
Nami: Won't the Navy be coming after us?
Ace: Not likely. I took care of them with my Flame-Flame powers.
He grinned and tossed a small piece of paper to Luffy, who caught and looked at it, confused.
Ace: Here. I wanted you to have that. Hang on to it! Always!
Luffy: Huh? It's just a piece of paper.
Ace: Yeah, but that piece of paper will bring us together again. Don't you want it?
Luffy: I want it!
Ace: A kid brother like you makes a big brother worry. I bet he gives you guys plenty of grief. Take care of him, okay?
He then jumped off of the railway and landed on a tiny boat next to the Going Merry. It must've been where he jumped from.
Luffy: Huh!? You're going already!? Stay a little longer! We haven't seen each other for a long time!
Ace: Sorry, but I'm in a hurry. I'm on the trail of a major outlaw right now. He's been calling himself "Blackbeard" lately. He used to belong to Whitebeard's second division. He was one of my henchmen. He committed the worst crime possible for a pirate. He killed a shipmate and jumped ship. As his commander, I'm responsible. If it wasn't for that, I'd never even come to a backwater port like this. Next time we meet will be on the high seas.
(Y/N) stared at Ace, who looked up at him and smiled.
(Y/N): Hmm... How can someone so intelligent and serious be related to Luffy?
Nami: <gasping> You're right... Am I dreaming?
Usopp: I was expecting another Luffy.
Chopper: <anime tears> An older brother! Wow!!
Zoro: What an awesome big brother!!
Sanji: You never know who you'll meet on the ocean.
Vivi: <sweat dropping> You guys...
Ace started sailing away as Luffy waved goodbye to him. He was suddenly confronted by a huge group of Baroque Works ships carrying Billions.
However, Ace easily destroyed all of them with his Flame-Flame Fruit powers and sailed away.
