"Hey Shig, can I take another one of those face masks?"
"Yeah, I got another shipment from fans" he tossed me one
"They sure do love to send you this stuff"
"Its nice though" he shook his head, "Im guessing you are going on patrol?"
"Yeah!"
"Well I'm off, good luck and be careful. Night patrol pays well but that's when the real scum come out"
I waved him off as I headed out. Patrol was normal. My problem is dealing with who I could effectively call my rival.
Icaras was a winged villian. He lived in some fantasy that the world would be better without heros; funding could go into other resources like schooling and child services to prevent creating villians. Thus heros wouldn't be needed.
I have been tracking him for months. My eye caught a glimpse of a feather. A red feather to be specific. I raised my guard looking around.
I watch the feather float in the air before starting to dart away. I chase in hot pursuit. This has got to lead to him. I watch carefully ready for a trap, though that wasn't his usual style.
I finally came to a warehouse. Entering I found the birdman himself twirling a feather, "Nice of you to join me"
"Let me guess, join me, blah blah blah dark side has cookies" I cross my arms
He looked amused masking a chuckle, "No no no. I actually have taken quite the interest in you. (Y/N)"
"First name basis huh? Keigo" I glare
"See, this is what I'm talking about. I love this. You know how to quip back"
"What is it you want?"
Feathers came at me suddenly forcing me to dodge, "Don't get me wrong (y/n) I love the enthusiasm but I need you to get out of my way. Its sad to lose a fellow bird but your flames aren't appreciated"
"Sorry bird boy not happening"
I activate my quirk letting any of his feathers around me burn, "You're pissing me off kid. Or should I call you phoenix?"
"Sorry, I don't cater to villians"
"Good thing I have some help"
He pulled a gun before I could even realise. A dart lodged itself into my leg making me panic pulling it out.
"That should cool you off, quirk disabler. Nice what you can get when you have connections. Should last 2 hours. Its American. Amazing work" he tossed the gun to the side, "Now let's fight for real. None of this don't touch me crap"
All I needed to do was draw out this fight. I never knew how weak I could be as he once again slammed me to the floor. An hour of fighting I was exhausted yet he looked like he had yet to break a sweat. Its nice when he still has his damn quirk. I tried turning the gun on him but he was smart enough to only have 1 bullet.
I choked on a cough, my ribs aching. I was sure there were some broken but I couldn't think about that right now. I NEED to win.
My legs shook struggling to stand. I tossed myself towards him throwing my whole body into my punch.
I crumpled as he caught my first, "You are so pathetic right now it's almost cute. You're like a fragile little dove that could be killed with a good smack of a leather glove"
My eyes widened trying to pry my fist from his hand but his grip only tightened dragging me into him. I fought against him but he inevitably won holding me against him. He held both my hands in his one against my chest while the second held my chin steady. My back pressed against his chest so he could hold me still.
"What do you want" I grit through my teeth
He shoved me over to where a mirror poked through the boxes showing our reflection, "So pretty, its a waste really to kill you"
"Then let me go" I try to fight again but he holds me securely
"Sorry Dove but I know for a fact you'll come after me again" his hand left my face reaching into his coat pocket, "fortunately my connections also got me this baby" he pulled a odd sphere.
"If you're going to kill me do it quickly" I try to take the chance to smash my head into his nose but a feather caught it before contact.
"Like I said, a waste"
"Then what is that?"
"You'll see, open up"
Feathers took my hands now so he could use his other hand to pry my mouth open. I fought back snapping and biting but he got it in my mouth, not without me managing to bite his finger though. He flinched it back staring disapprovingly at the bloody finger.
"Swallow"
I shook my head but his hand covered my mouth. After a few minutes of struggle I suddenly realized it had completely dissolved in my mouth.
"Good girl" he gave me a head pat before releasing me completely.
I moved away from him immediately, "Tell me what the hell that was!?"
"Called addiction. Disolves perfectly like cotton candy"
"What kind of sick joke is this!" I wipe at my tongue
"A great one"
"I can break an addiction. Its not going to stop me from turning you in!"
"Do you know what addiction is like? Trust me, harder than it seems. Hard to throw me in jail when if you do you'll get withdrawls" he smirked
I go to throw another punch but he stops me easily. His gloved hand was warm against mine. I feel like all my senses heighten in a single moment. The smell of his cologne alone made me suddenly weak.
"Where did all the fire go? All in a second? This is easy now" he smiled, "What are you addicted to i wonder?" He mused
I took off as fast as I could. I can't be here. I hurry to my agency in a frazzled state. I could hear him laughing watching me run away.
I got healed. I debated telling the nurse about addiction but couldn't bring myself to do it. My head already was starting to hurt.
Home was a blessing finally heading to bed.
Hawks POV
Its been a week and I still haven't seen her. Though I have heard her in the area. She has been tracking me but refusing to get close.
This plan was amazing. She can't take me in like this. Then again she seems to be fighting it.
I couldn't help but smile hearing the familiar shuffle of her feet as she tries to stay quiet. I push off the alleywall deciding to head in her direction. I was honestly curious what this addiction thing entailed.
I turned the corner to see her eyes widen seeing me. The sheer panic on her face was good enough. My arms rested on the wall to each side of her so she couldn't run. This was too fun.
I let myself chuckle again watching her slowly breaking down infront of me. Her hands darted out grabbing my coat and forcing me closer making me laugh more at just how pathetic this was already. Is she going to ask for me to find something for her?
Something cold and wet grabbed my attention making me flinch. Shit, maybe I bit off more than I could chew. What the fuck?!
Readers POV
My headache was finally gone but my mind felt hazey. His body was warm against me. I love the feeling, I craved it. I wanted something but I don't even know what from him.
My tongue darted out before I could even think but even his skin tasted sweet on my tongue. He flinched away but I couldn't help try to keep close.
"You have no control do you kid?" His chest vibrated as he laughed nervousness in his voice, "Fuck" he spoke under his breath.
I felt a shiver run up my spine. I needed his lips. My fingers laced into his soft hair before I could kiss him. The feeling of his lips was electrifying.
It was a whole thrill. Kissing him was like a million butterflies coursing though my body making me feel light as air.
He shuffled back but I pursued even as he fell backwards i fell with him. He quickly brought his hand up covering his lips looking tomato red.
"What the fuck is wrong with you?!" He hissed wide eyed.
Everything fell mute in my body. I felt so heavy. I need more of him, "More" I straddle him on the ground.
"No no no. Down"
I pull at his hand while he twisted away. Once his hand was tore away I grabbed him by the cheeks slotting my lips over his again. This time he kissed back. It felt like bliss as I melted into the kiss. I let my hand snake to his nape and scratch lightly. He made a small noise. I moved to an open mouth kiss enjoying it.
It was all wrong. So morally wrong but it felt so good. He pulled away with half lidded eyes panting lightly.
"Fuck...you need to stop" he spoke up quietly
"Why?" I blurted
"For one we are out in the open" he wiped off his lips awkwardly, "two...If I'm caught you won't get your fix anymore"
"Then can we take this somewhere private?"
"You're a little junkie aren't you?" He teased smirking
"Please, Keigo" I pulled out his name hoping to sway him
"Fuck, you can't say that" his face darkened
"Please" I grabbed his hand rubbing my cheek against it.
He had a small flush on his face. His hand rubbed his chin in thought before he finally smirked, "You be a good girl and we can meet up. If not I will go underground and you will have to go through withdrawls"
"I'll be a good girl" I whine
"Then no...no touching unless I say so" he removes my hands from him.
I take a few deep breaths trying to get a handle on myself. My face flushed feeling embarrassed at my actions. The taste of his tongue still lingered. Problem was, I loved it.
"I'll see you later kid, meet at the old warehouse. I'll be waiting" Hawks cooed before taking off to the sky.
The alleyway now seemed so dark and cold.
I needed to quit. You can quit an addiction, Right? Cold turkey and all that. I am staying away from his district and especially that warehouse. Once I kick this addiction I'll give him what for!
4 days later I felt like shit. I had to call into work I felt so miserable. I craved him. His presence alone is what I need.
I breathe deeply trying to fight the headache. I've had a fever since yesterday too. The pouring rain seemed to match my general mood. I throw on some boots needing a walk. I turned up my heat slightly so the rain sizzles away before reaching me. Perks of my quirk.
My quirk is called Phoenix. I can create wings made of fire. Problem is my body can overheat if I'm not careful.
The walk wasn't helping but it was better than being stuck in my apartment.
Before long I came to the warehouse where I met the Villain before. I walked there subconsciously. I curse at myself but enter. The warehouse looked clear.
I tried to relax but couldn't. I looked around till my eyes caught on a feather.
My blood boiled. I can't, I can't take this. I snatch the feather up.
"Listen here you prick, I know you can listen through your feathers. You better meet me here or I'm gonna-"
"Gonna what?" A voice rang out.
I whipped around to watch the winged man swoop down from the shadows, "i..Im gonna...gonna"
He moved close to me. I could smell his cologne. It took all my willpower not to lean into him.
"That's what I thought. What are you doing out in the rain? Come all this way for little ol' me?"
"Don't patronize me!" I hiss
"You need your fix? Craving my presence?"
"And if I do?"
"Guess you're just too addicted to me huh?" He smirked.
I growl overly frusterated by all of this. I grab a handful of his shirt pulling him closer, "This is all your fault"
"Oh I know. But I just love watching the Inner turmoil in your eyes"
I rest my head on his shoulder taking in his scent. Feeling my headache disappear in an instant is a magical feeling. Its bliss just to be like this. All of my stress melted away in an instant. I move closer snuggling up to his chest enjoying his body heat.
I could hear him chuckle, "You're cute like this little hero"
"Shut up"
"What? Embarrassed?" He jest
I feel my cheeks heat up. I hide my face from his view in his chest
"Aw, little hero embarrassed?"
He asked for it. I bite his chest making him flinch.
"OW WHAT THE FUCK!?"
"You wouldn't shut up! Just stand here and be quiet"
He grumbled but nodded wrapping his arms and wings around me. He is warm. Its comforting being this close to him.
