You comforted me,

But when the tears slowed
You said,
See? You'll be okay
But I wasn't
And now it doesn't matter
I haven't actually cried in some time
Not because I don't want to
But because I can't
I can't feel
A lot of things
The things I can are of no use
When I fell down
You saw me get up again
But you didn't see
How much it hurt
You didn't see
How many more times
I fell
Because I didn't show you
I probably never will
There's some things
That leave you too vulnerable to speak of
Even among the ones who are meant to care for you the most
When the melody finally faded
Did you see me there, Alone,
Too afraid to ask for help?
When the magic fell away and lost its power,
Did you see the sweet dreams pleading for release?
Did you see me wishing
I could be a part of this,
Everyone but me
Finding some way of belonging,
Me,
J just have ways of coping
And failing
To find meaning
I've looked for it
But no matter how much I create
I can't shake this feeling
That nothing is ever as innocent as it might appear
Everything can decieve you
And in this world
It will
Leaving you
Wanting...
Something
Anything
Clinging into the times when things were different
But still
Having the burden of exhaustion thrust onto you
Unwanted
But there
As you dig deep
Into your soul
Hoping
Someone
Will be able to see its secrets
When no one else could
When you were left
To fade away
And the angel wings of a past life
Abandoned you
Completely
And the unshakable truth
Began to sink in
Leaving you
Wanting
Someone
To take this away from you
But finding
No solace
