"okay," ricky sighed to himself as he read his textbook "use the function of y to find the inverse function and then figure out the area of the graph- what the-?" he sighed
nini chuckled to herself as she laid on the bed, fiddling with an old bear while she watched a movie on the laptop laying beside her.
"need help?" she asked, getting up and making her way towards him
ricky shook his head, trying to focus "nope."
nini raised her eyebrows "really?" she asked, leaning closer to him
ricky took a deep breath and turned around in his seat "what are you doing?"
nini shrugged her shoulders as she climbed onto his lap "i told you, i'm bored.
the boy chuckled as he wrapped his arms around her waist "i have to study."
nini sighed "since when did you become boring?"
ricky shook his head with a smile "since i have to revise for my exam if i want to play next week."
"well, you can take a break." she told him with a grin
ricky shook his head with a light grin as she leaned in he kissed her back, the two smiling before the door opening made them both quickly pull back and nini climb off of ricky's lap.
"well, if this is what studying looks like, i'm sure you should be getting all a's on your report this term." mike said, folding his arms
nini and ricky laughed nervously, the girl clearing her throat as she sat down on the bed and ricky taking a deep breath
"um-we weren't-doing what-it looked like-"
mike nodded "yeah. okay. i'll be downstairs. dinner's ready in fifteen minutes."
"you're cooking?" ricky asked with his eyebrows raised
mike smiled "i don't question this, you don't question my culinary skills."
ricky nodded "got it."
"leave the door open," mike instructed as he left the room and went downstairs.
"well, that was absolutely horrifying." nini muttered
ricky shook his head "i can assure you i think there are different scenarios where that could've been worse."
nini rolled her eyes playfully before sighing "but seriously, are you done?"
ricky quickly wrote something down and put his pencil onto the table with a light tap before jumping up from his chair "yup."
he jumped onto the bed where nini was lying, watching the movie
he wrapped an arm around his waist and rested his head on her chest
"oh look, the tables turned." nini joked, looking down at the boy
ricky chuckled and looked up "hey, i should get to be comfortable too."
nini nodded playfully with a smile and ricky gasped
"oh, and you said table-"
"it's a saying bowen," the girl laughed
ricky shrugged his shoulders and she sighed
"what is it with you and tables?" she asks, making ricky laugh
"i just like being right." he said
"and this is why you have to accept that with me, you'll always be wrong." she beams, kissing him on the cheek quickly
ricky shook his head "you're impossible."
"and yet, you love me." she beams
"do you love me?" he asks with a playful eyebrow raised, turning on his stomach as he looked at her
nini pretended to think for a few seconds before shrugging her shoulders "well, i do hate you-"
"hey!" he exclaimed
"but, not as much as i love you." she finished with a smirk
ricky smiled at her and the sound of mike's calls from the kitchen downstairs.
"alright, let's go get food poisoning." ricky sighed as he got up from the bed
"hey, have a little faith in him," nini said, standing up and following him out of the room.
ricky snorted a laugh "you have just as little faith in this as me."
"yeah, you're right."
"at least we'll die together," ricky sighed dramatically
"you're such a drama queen." nini chuckles, holding his hand
"why thank you my lady," he nods, making the girl shake her head with a smile. the same smile ricky always loved to see on her face. and the smile she would only ever be able to wear for him.
