This is definitely not your typical teenager movie although it does use some common highschool cliches. The film is a coming of age story two former besties reuniting and takes up some pretty serious issues like abortion while also keeping it light-hearted, funny and cute.
Bailey, one of the girls is a lesbian and isn't ashamed about it. The movie doesn't really focus on her sexuality but there's a scene where she comes out to Veronica and kisses a hot lesbian racer.
The only characters I hated in this film is Bailey's irresponsible father, Veronica's toxic boyfriend and the creepy pro-lifer couple. Other than that I loved everything about this film.
The amount of negative responses the movie got from pro-lifers shows exactly why we needed this movie. The film isn't glorifying abortion, it's just showing abortion is nothing to be ashamed of and it's a women's right and her choice to do what she wants to with her body.
