Adrien's POV:
I finally get to Chloe's hotel and I see my car. It's locked, but I see Felix's clothes in the back seat.
Did he go into the party naked?
And why is he even here?
Whatever. I just want my stuff back so I can get Marinette and go home because he is definitely not staying at my house anymore.
I run inside and look around but there's too many people here. I look in a few rooms but they're empty until...
"Marinette?"
"Adrien?"
We say our names in unison.
Why the fuck is she here?
And why is she crying?
And why is she running away from me?
And then it hits me.
Felix.
I'm going to kill him, but I need to find Marinette first.
I run after her, but she's fast and small and she's gone. How did she disappear so quickly?
I keep going though. I keep looking for her, but instead I find fucking Felix.
I genuinely don't care if anyone sees me do what I'm about to do.
I rush up to him and pull him by the collar and punch him in the face.
"What did you do to her?"
"Ahh- What the hell is wrong with you?"
I punch him again.
Everyone is watching.
I go to punch him again, but he's had enough.
"Alright, alright."
He gives me my phone and keys and tries to push me away but I don't move.
"What- Did you- Do?"
He stays silent so I punch him again.
"You realize how little your girlfriend really knows you? She couldn't get off of me-"
He tries to intimidate me.
"Kitty."
I could beat the absolute shit out of him right now, but I don't. I need to find Marinette.
"Go to hell."
I push him down and run towards the door because she's probably going home.
I call her 14 times with no answer.
I read the texts between her and Felix.
He called her baby.
My head hurts, but I keep running.
My phone buzzes.
Please be Marinette.
No. No. No. No.
Please not now.
God fucking damnit.
There's no way there's an akuma right now.
I hide behind a building and transform.
If I know Marinette- And I do. I know that she's selfless. Even if she's balling her eyes out, she'll still be there for her city.
It's not ideal, but I'll be able to explain what happened.
I find the villain, but Ladybug is nowhere to be found.
I sneak up on the villain and strike him with my staff. It's all going fine but I need her by my side. I find out his akuma is in his bracelet, but he has me cornered.
Shit. Shit. Shit.
I probably would've died, but she saved me.
I don't know what Felix did to her, but if it made her cry and run away from me, it must've been horrible.
But she still saved me.
"Mari- Ladybug!"
She doesn't even look at me. She keeps fighting. The battle goes on a bit too long, but we just can't defeat him.
He has this rope that he keeps trying to catch us with, but he hasn't even gotten close.
"Ladybug, please just hear me out!"
"No. Stop it! Focus!"
That's so like her. To put others needs over her own.
"Lucky Charm!"
We keep fighting. We almost defeat him, but he catches Ladybug in his rope and throws her into a building.
"NO!"
His evil laugh fills the air around us.
"Cataclysm!"
With no hesitation, I launch myself at him and break his bracelet.
I leave the akumatized victim confused and rush over to Ladybug.
"Ladybug, wake up. C'mon. Wake up!"
Tears are running down my face as blood runs down hers.
The akuma begins to fly away.
I grab her yoyo and lucky charm in tears and run towards the purple butterfly.
"Time to de-evilize!"
I purify the butterfly and throw the lucky charm into the air before running back to Ladybug.
She's still bleeding, but she's awake.
"Ladybug?"
She looks at me while tears fill her eyes.
"Please- Ahh, don't touch me."
I pains me to lay her body on the cold ground instead of holding her in my arms especially when she winces in pain right in front of me.
"Please let me explain."
"I don't want to hear it- Ahh-"
She holds her head in her hands from the pain as she goes on.
"How could you say that to me? Why were you even there? How could you-"
Her voice cracks as she cries through the words.
"Marinette- It wasn't me! It was Felix! What did he do?"
I start crying.
She just looks at me.
"What-"
I can see the stress in her eyes.
"Did he hurt you?"
Tears run does her face.
"No. Can you please take me h-home?"
"Marinette, you're bleeding."
"Fine. Your house. Just please get me out of here."
Her words come out as painful screams.
I don't hesitate to pick her up. I jump all the way to my house. I get in through the window and we both de-transform.
"Stay here."
I make sure Felix isn't here. I doubt he would come back, but he's a dumbass so who knows.
I come back into the room but Marinette is gone.
"Marinette?"
Fuck.
"I'm in here."
I walk over to the bathroom and lean my head on the closed door.
"Can I come in?"
"Ahh~ No. I'm fi- Aghh~"
"Princess..."
I don't know if I should call her that. It feels like we're broken up right now.
"I can't do this- Why can't I-"
The frustration in her voice rises.
"I'm coming in, okay?"
When she didn't protest the action, I began to open the door slowly.
I see her sitting on the floor with her head in her hands, bandages on the counter.
I drop to the floor and hold her in my arms.
"It hurts so bad. Why can't I just- Why did-? I can't-"
She doesn't finish any of those sentences.
"Hey, it's okay. Look at me."
She does.
"It's okay. You're okay. Shhh."
I try to calm her down. I can tell she's still scared of being vulnerable around me.
I can't tell if she's panicking because of Felix or from hitting her head, but I don't like seeing her like this.
"I got you. It's okay."
She sobs into my chest as I rub her back for more comfort.
After a few minutes, she starts to calm down and catch her breath.
"Can I help you with this, please?"
I take the bandaids out of her hand softly.
"Please don't hurt me."
My eyes soften into hers.
I can't explain how awful it is to hear the love of your life beg you not to hurt them.
"I didn't mean it like that."
I know what she meant. She just wanted me to be careful with her head, but still.
"I know."
We look into each others eyes for a moment.
"Can you rest your head right here for me?"
I pat my chest.
"Okay.."
She leans her head on my chest but she's tense.
I wrap my arm around her and hold her head with my hand.
"I'm just gonna clean it and put a bandaid on, okay? It's not gonna hurt."
She relaxes a bit and closes her eyes.
I clean and disinfect the cut and place a spall piece of gauze over it. I rip a square of medical tape off with my teeth and secure the bandaid on.
"There."
She doesn't move from her position.
I just look at her and mirror her breathing.
"I really thought it was you."
"What?"
"Felix. I mean- I thought it was weird, but I didn't even think about-"
She looks away from me.
"Are you mad at me?"
She tenses up again.
"No-! It wasn't your fault. Marinette, look at me."
She does but she's so sad, it's hard to speak.
"Can you tell me what happened?"
She cringes at the thought.
"I didn't want to go to Chloe's party, but Alya showed up at my house and made me go, but I figured if you came with me, it'd be okay so I texted you and I guess Felix had your phone and he said he'd get there soon. I got kinda drunk and when he showed up, I was so relieved because I thought it was you.
I told him I wanted to leave and he pulled me into a room and-"
She stops herself.
"It's okay, princess."
I kiss her head.
She continues.
"We didn't do anything. He just kissed my neck a lot. But I knew it was wrong, I swear I thought something was going on. I knew you wouldn't talk to me like that!"
"Like what?"
"Just like...pushy. I hugged him and told him I just wanted to to home. He wanted me to suck his-"
I take a deep breath.
"Did you? I wouldn't be mad. I swear, but-"
"No. I didn't."
I exhale. I wouldn't have been mad at her, but I would cataclysm him in the balls if he made her do that to him.
"What else happened?"
"I don't know. He told me he never loved me and that I should find a new boyfriend and that I'm easy to manipulate. Then he called me pathetic and told me to leave him alone."
I hold her as close to me as possible.
"And then you found me and I ran but then the akuma and just- Everything is too much."
"Hey, you know I would never treat you like that, right?"
She nods while she cries.
"I know..That's why it was so strange and why it hurt so bad. But Adrien- I promise. I knew something was wrong. But I didn't think-"
Her voice cracked and got faster as she started promising she didn't know.
"Marinette- How could you have known?"
"You would've known!"
"Do you have an identical cousin?"
"No.."
"Then we'll never know."
I smile at her and she smiles back at me softly through her puffy eyes.
"You were drunk and-"
Holy shit. Holy fuck. Shit. Shit. Shit.
"What?"
"Did you tell him that we're Ladybug and Cat Noir??"
"What??"
"He called me Kitty-!"
She makes a face like she's jealous that someone else called me that.
"I didn't tell him any of that. I just called him Kitty when he got there."
A part of me is relieved and other part of me is jealous that she called someone else Kitty. Even though she thought it was me.
