I scan the fridge. Who drank all the chocolate milkshake?! Whoever did just ruined my breakfast plans. I look through the other juices looking for something to go with my nutella on toast. I finally decide on apple juice and begin to pour myself a glass. Hands slither around my waist and I jump and spill my juice. Adam laughs.
"It's only me." He whispers against my neck.
"You scared me..."
"Sorry." He kisses my neck softly.
I lean back onto him. I was really nervous, today we're telling Carla and Ab about Adam and I. His hold and kisses made me feel a lot more relaxed.
"Amy come on!" Mum calls from the front door.
"Coming!" I call back.
I down my apple juice and then turn to Adam.
"Goodbye. See you later." I peck his lips, grab my toast and bag and am out the door.
I was getting a lift to school with mum and Meg. I want to throw her off the trace.
We drop Megan off at school first.
"Have a good day Meg!" I shout out the window.
She waves at us then runs to join her friends in the playground. Mum drops me off next.
"Bye mum." I kiss her cheek.
"Have a good day honey."
"And you."
"Text me what your plans for coming home are."
"Will do."
I walk into school. Strange, Adam's bike should be parked. He'd get in early than me because I had to go to Meg's school. Huh. Maybe John got up and gave him a ride.
I'm a bit late so I run to music. I see Grace and run over to her.
"Heyo!" She grins.
"Hey." I smile and sit down.
"Nervous?" She asks.
"Yup." I answer.
"I'll hold the hand that Adam isn't." She smiles.
I laugh lightly.
"Thanks."
"No problameo. When you going to tell them?"
"Break. Adam and I will tell them together."
"Tell who together?"
Grace and I jump.
"Tom! What are you doing here? You don't even take music."
"I wanted to see my girl." He grins.
"Awww! You're cute." Grace says then pecks his lips. "Now leave." She says sternly pointing to the door.
Tom and I laugh and he leaves.
"Glad to see its going well with you two." I say.
"Yeah. I can't believe you plotted that! You little demon."
Music goes by quickly. Just as the bell is about to go for break the receptionist walks in.
"Amy Vayler?"
"Yes?" I ask standing up.
"Can I have a word?"
"Sure." I put my guitar down on its stand and follow her out.
The door closes behind us.
"What's up?" I ask.
"It's concerning Adam Fines, your step brother."
Oh god. How have school found out?!?
"Yes?" I ask shakily.
I'll deny it all.
"He's been involved in an accident."
"What?"
"He's in the hospital. Your mother will be picking you up shortly."
Tears begin to form in my eyes.
"Is he okay?"
"They don't know. I am so sorry. Do you want me to take you out to the car park and wait with you."
I shake my head.
"No thank you."
"Okay."
She turns and walks away. The bell rings and people rush out of music. I turn and walk away, they have their eyes glue onto my back. I don't care. Let them look. All I are about right now is Adam. Is he okay?
