"In 2 days, why?" He raises an eyebrow.

2 days.
Ara has been in her room for 2 days straight.
I'd be lying if I said it doesn't feel weird without her.

"Who is?" Antonio walks in.
"Welcome back papa." Angelo greets him. Followed by everyone else.
"You didn't answer my question, who is fine?" He look us all in the eyes.
"Ara. She's been in her room ever since the night." Laila's voice quietens towards the end.
"Ahh I see. I'll talk to her." He walks out of the room.
Bella scurries behind him.

Ara's POV:
Someone knocks at my door.
I don't answer. I don't need to.
"mia figlia, its me." I hear a voice from the other side.
Father!
I jolt up and open the door to find my father and Bella at the door.
I embrace him into a big hug.
"Have you heard about this "man hunt" for me?" I do speech marks with my hands, i blink back tears.
He sighs before looking me and Bella in the eyes, "Follow me to my office."
We scurry behind him to his office and take a seat on the velvet chairs across from his desk.
Daddies got drip.
"I have a proposal father." His eyes sort of lit up when I called him father.
"Yes?" He replies curious.
"I will go back to them."
His mouth opens to say something but I cut him off, "But I will keep in regular contact with you gusy and let you guys know about everything."
"What if they hurt you??" Bella faces me worried.
"We both know they wont hurt me Bella Boo." I chuckle sadly.
"Actually. I have an idea." He says.
"In 5 months, theres the official masquerade mafia ball. Every year there's a huge masquerade ball for every mafia."
He goes on to say, "Your aunt and uncle will definitely be attending if you're there because now that you're 18 you have your own freedom."
"So are you suggesting I be a spy AND I come back after the ball?" I grin.
I feel like im in the mafia right now.

"I guess you could put it like that." He says, pulling out his phone.
While he is talking to someone on the phone I turn to Bella who looks worried.
"Promise to call me everyday?" Bella tears up.
"Of course, you're my Bella boo." I tear up too.
"Girls." My dad ruins the moment.
Damn Escobar, let us have our moment.
"The jet is ready for you."
"And before you ask, your stuff has all been packed up." He tells me.
I've never been alone before.

"I love you and I miss you already," Bella hugs me so tightly I think she is cutting off my oxygen.
"I love you more." I tell her before stepping onto the jet.
I wanted to keep it a secret so only Bella, Him and I know about me leaving but I dont think Escobar is gonna keep it a secret.
All I can think of is the ball. The dresses. The music. The dancing.
Father told me that nothing can happen between any of the mafias during these balls because the government is suspicious of the whole event already and if anything happens between anyone then everyones fucked.
There are balls held every week however what makes this so special is that its held during December and everyone kind of has to attend.
I pull out my favourite book out of my bag.
"The Hate U Give" Plastered onto the front cover of the book.

"Where the fuck is she?!" I hear Matteo shout from downstairs.
What the fuck is going on?
I go downstairs to find Laila and Aaliyah sobbing and Matteo looks stressed as fuck.
"What the fuck is happening?" I ask taking my hands out of my pockets.
"We can't find Ara anywhere, this isnt good. Especially since she has a death warrant on her name." Matteo stresses.
"WHAT THE FUCK WHERE IS SHE??" I scream at him.
"Someone's got a crushh" Aaliyah whistles, still crying.
Matteo gives me a death stare.
He's scary you know.
"Oh shut up Aaliyah." I roll my eyes at her.
The girls giggle. STILL CRYING.
Antonio walks in.
"What the fuck is going on?" He shakes his head.
"Thats what I said," I add.
"Ara isn't here!" Matteo tells him.
"Oh she's at her Aunt and Uncles house" He mentions so nonchalantly.
"WHAT," We all say.
"WHY THE FUCK WOULD SHE BE THERE?" I shout.
He gives me the death stare. I back down. Antonio isn't someone to mess with even if he views me as one of his sons.
"She has business there." He tells us.
"She's in so much danger," I sigh.
"She's safe. Dont worry." He walks out of the room.
And as if it were on cue, Bella walks into the living room. Mascara dripping down her face.
Not another crying girl.
"What happened?" Aaliyah runs up to Bella and hugs her.
She whispers something in her ear and then they whisper things to Laila.
This goes on for about 10 minutes until I clear my throat.
They all leave the room.
"What the fuck bro?" I turn to Matteo.
"I don't even know" He walks out.
Fuck I need to get her back.
