I was getting ready for school and about to go out the door when I forgot that I had to pack my lunchbox. I silently cursed, worrying that I might be late for school. I quickly ran to the kitchen picked my lunchbox up and stuffed it in my bag before leaving my house
I looked down at my phone and realised I was pretty late

My third week at school already! I'm surprised I've went every single day!

He gave me a smirk and that's when I knew he was gonna say something. I turned around and started walking away from him but he was following behind me
"So about what happened the other day-" Kageyama started to say before I cut him off

"NO," I said while looking at Kageyama who was now next to me because of his long legs
Kageyama may be taller than me but at least I'm taller than Hinata
"FINE! I won't talk about it," he said while rolling his eyes
"Good!" I said slowing down from my fast pace. I was about to ask what he was doing here so I could change the subject but he interrupted me
"Anyway, what were you doing waiting there by yourself?" He asked raising an eyebrow
"Well that is the meeting spot where I usually meet my friend but today she wasn't there"
"Your imaginary friend? Why wasn't she there?" he said with his classic ANNOYING smirk

"She's not imaginary idiot and I think she left without me because I was late," I said while rolling my eyes
Kageyama looked at me weirded out and then took his phone out and looked down at it
"No you aren't, we have plenty of time until school starts," he said confused
"Wait what?" I said confused
"How could you not know the time? Do you even know when school starts?"
"Of course I know when school starts! I'm not an idiot!" I said as I crossed my arms
"So then why did you think you were running late?" he said with that douchbag smirk still on his stupid face
"Because it's what my phone said," I said in my usual annoyed tone
He just looked at me confused and I just looked at him confused as well "Can I see your phone for a second?" he asked actually sounding polite for once
"I guess," I said while getting my phone out of my pocket and giving it to him
"You do know your phone is set to the wrong time... right?" he asked raising an eyebrow while looking from me phone to me
"Whatttt" I trailed off while grabbing my phone back and looking at the time. I grabbed his arm and pulled it over to me so I could look at the time on his phone "That's sooooo weird," I said confused as I looked between the phones

"Wait a second, how do I know that YOUR phone isn't set to the wrong time?" I said suspiciously as I looked up at him
"Why would MY phone be set to the wrong time?" he said emphasising the 'my' like it's impossible it would happen to him
"Well, why would MINE?" I said as I crossed my arms
"Fine then, lets search up what time it is," he said in a smug tone
"Fine," I said as I crossed my arms again
Kageyama went onto google and typed in "what time is it right now" I waited for him to tell me what it said until he smirked and looked at me before he shoved his phone into my face "See I was right MY phone is set to the right time"
"Whatever! It doesn't matter anyway," I said while pushing his phone out of my face

"Did you really set your phone to the wrong time?" he asked while laughing, I was annoyed at his comment but the annoyance didn't matter when I heard him laugh. The sound of it made my heart skip a beat. I looked up to him and examined his face, he had his eyes closed as he laughed. It was cute how he closed his eyes when he laughed

Kageyama just started laughing and I looked up at him outraged "WHAT IS SO FUNNY ABOUT THIS? HM? THIS IS A SERIOUS SITUATION!" I shouted trying to stop myself from smiling or laughing
He looked at me and smirked "You look cute when you're angry" his words made me want to throw up... but not from disgust, from nervousness and butterflies.

"YOU'RE NOT MAKING THIS SITUATION ANY BETTER YOU IDIOT!" I said trying to act like what he said never happened. I looked away from him so he wouldn't be able to see how red I was.
After a few minutes of him smiling and me trying to contain my nerves and keep up with my "mad" act, I took a few deep breaths and looked up at him "You seem... different today"
"What do you mean?" he asked while looking at me curiously
"Well when we first met you were way more... douchey, don't get me wrong, you're still douchey now but a different kind of douchy," I said trying to find the right words
"Gee thanks for all the compliments I love being called 'douchey' on a Monday morning," he said sarcastically
"HEY! I'VE HAD A HARD MORNING! I WOKE UP THREE HOURS TOO EARLY FOR SCHOOL! Two hours of valuable sleep wasted," I said sadly and he rolled his eyes. I laughed slightly and said "So why are you less douchy?"
"I don't know, I guess I'm just in a good mood" he shrugged
"Why? Is it because you got to see my wonderful face," I said with a smirk
"No, seeing you almost ruined my mood but my mom made me meat for lunch so it couldn't"

"Guess you don't have to put up with me any longer since we're at school now," Kageyama said as he stopped walking and turned to look at me

"You do realise how early you are? I'm right on time for morning practice," he said as he moved back to lean on a wall
"Yeah, I have no idea what I'm going to do," I said as I groaned
"You can come watch us practice if you want?" he questioned
"Oh yeah! You told me last time that you were at practice, what is the practice for though?" I asked curiously
"Right, you don't know! I play volleyball," he said with a sparkle in his eyes and a proud smile on his face
"I would have known if you told me last time! But I guess that's actually really cool" I said with a smile
"I know" he said with a little smirk, trying not to show how excited he was of the fact he played volleyball

Kageyama pushed himself of the wall and started walking to the gym, I followed him having no idea where the boys volleyball gym was. He turned around and was about to say something to me when someone ran past us. I looked at the person running startled

I looked up at Kageyama and he looked annoyed but immediately started running after Hinata. I stood still confused and then realised they were in a race so I started running after them
Since I started pretty late and because I sadly, wasn't a good runner, by the time I got there they were already in the gym. I put my palms on my knees and started breathing heavily until I heard someone start snickering from behind me

"Well someone isn't in shape," a familiar voice said

I turned around, groaned and rolled my eyes when I saw it was the tall blonde haired guy from my history class

He looked at me quite disgusted before he started laughing and so did this green haired guy
"I don't really think the gym is the right place for you or well, maybe it is so you can yknow... work out and build some stamina," he said with a smirk

"I'm here because someone asked me to come," I said while gaining my breath back and crossing my arms
"Why would anyone ask you to come to the gym? You do know volleyball morning practice is going on?" he asked with a raised eyebrow

"Soooo Kageyama has a girlfriend?" The green haired boy asked confused
I started making puking noises before saying "ew no"
"Mhmm sure" four eyes said in his classic sarcastic tone
"No, not again... not again! I'm ignoring your sarcasm! Let's just go into the gym," I groaned and crept up to the gym, I sneakily looked in, trying to see if I knew anyone. My bones left my body as Kageyama popped out in front of me giving me the biggest fright
"What are you doing?" he asked while already dressed in his gym clothes
"KAGEYAMA WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT TO ME?" I said clutching my heart and Kageyama just looked at me confused
"Huh?" He turned his head in a confused way
"I- you-... WHATEVER! I'm coming to watch like you asked," I said as I shook my head trying to get out of my scared state
"So then come into the gym idiot," he said with that 'no expression I'm a robot' face
"That's what I was trying to do until I was rudely interrupted," I said as I looked behind at Tsukishima and he rolled his eyes
Kageyama moved out of the way of the entrance so we could walk into the gym, the moment I stepped into the gym my ears burst at all the ruckus. Kageyama chuckled at my shocked face and I looked about nervously examining everyone
I saw Hinata admiring another short guy who was doing some weird thing with his foot and shouting stuff

I saw a bald guy trying to look cool in front of this girl with long black hair and cute glasses

I saw a silver haired guy, a brown haired guy and a really really tall guy all talking and laughing
My eyes trailed off to the side of the gym where I saw two older guys sitting on a bench. One of the guys noticed me and started walking over to us
"Tsukishima, who is this?" He asked while looking at something behind me. I looked at the older guy confused

I was stunned out of my confusion when someone started speaking from behind me "How am I meant to know? She's just some girl with a breathing condition that was outside" a familiar voice said in a disgusted way

I turned around to Tsuki-fucking-shima and death stared him trying to look as intimidating as possible "Excuse me? I do not have a breathing condition in fact my lungs are the best lungs in the world"
"Who lied to you?" he said while adjusting his glasses
"Stay calm Y/n, stay calm, your therapist said you can show her your world in catland if you stay calm," I said to myself breathing in and out and turning around to face the guy that I'm guessing is the coach (I wish catland existed tbh)
"Holy fucking shit, she's bat shit crazy," said Tsukishima with wide eyes. His tone was surprised, concerned and shocked
"Are we just going to pretend that she doesn't play a game that is made for 6 year olds?" said the green haired guy that appeared out of nowhere from beside me
"Ok, I'm going to ignore everything that just happened and assume your name is Y/n?" the coach said while looking at me and shaking his head trying to move on from our conversation
"Yes" I nodded my head with a straight face
"Soooo, why are you here?" he asked with a raised eyebrow
I was about to reply but Kageyama answered for me "I asked her to come Coach Ukai" Kageyama's presence was the only one I didn't forget about
Coach Ukai looked at Kageyama then at me and I nodded happily "Ok, you can come in and watch but what's your full name? Yaknow in case you murder everyone and I need to report you to the police"
"Y/n L/n, but you can call me Y/n," I said while smiling
Suddenly Hinata noticed me and started running up to me "Hiiii Y/n, what are you doing here?" he questioned happily
"I came to watch you guys practice" I replied excitedly
"REALLY? YOU HAVE TO SEE MY QUICK ATTACK" he said happily and I looked at him in amazement

Suddenly his smiled dropped as looked up at something next to me and then he looked back at me again "Wait, are you here with Tsukishima? are you his girlfriend?" he said with a disgusted look
"God no, why would you think that?" I asked looking disgusted, confused and surprised
"Because you're standing right next to him," he replied as he pointed at Tsukishima
I looked next to me and yelped as I jumped away from from Tsukishima
"HEY! TWO METERS! I DON'T KNOW WHAT SORT OF DISEASE YOU HAVE," I shouted at Tsukishima and he rolled his eyes
"You should be the one staying away from me! I don't want to catch the small disease," he said madly as he glared at me
"I AM ACTUALLY TALL FOR A GIRL YOU'RE JUST... FREAKISHLY LONG" I replied still shouting
"Whatever you sayyy" he said in that fucking sarcastic tone
I swear to god if I hear sarcasm ONE more time I'll cry
"Will you stop with the sarcasm you sound like an idiot 'whatever you sayyy' god so annoying," I said while mocking him
"Actually sarcasm is a sign that you're smart," he said with a 'im so smart' look on his face
"Well, you are clearly not smart so you must be using it to try and seem smart" I replied with a smile
I looked around and noticed that everyone was looking at us, I turned around to everyone and started bowing and apologising
"I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to disturb you all, I was just being annoyed by an idiot," I said apologetically
"It's okay Y/n, we understand," Hinata said while laughing
"Tsukishima is a major dick," said Kageyama and I giggled
"Clearly," I said and I heard Tsukishima grumble
"Whatever," four eyes said while walking away to the changing rooms, the green haired guy soon followed after him as he sensed the awkward atmosphere
I sighed from my argument with Tsukishima and then looked at the team nervously, they all stared at me intently
"Hi I'm Daichi Sawamura, you can call my Daichi" a guy with brown hair said and I smiled at him relieved
"Hello! I'm Y/n L/n, you can call me Y/n... actually, you all can call me Y/n," I said with my usual smile plastered on my face
Everyone smiled and started started introducing themselves
"Hello I'm Koshi Sugawara you can call me Suga," said the grey haired guy
"Hel-" before I could finish what I was saying Kageyama interrupted me "You don't have to say hi to everyone we can all hear you idiot"
"I'm just being polite Kageyama, maybe you should take some notes," I said as I rolled my eyes
"Hey! I am a very polite person," he shouted with an angry expression
"Uhhhh, okay then," I said while looking away from him
"I'm going to go practice," Kageyama said annoyed while walking away
"Wow it looks like me and Kageyama have the same cycle," I said expecting them to laugh but everyone stared at me confused

Kageyama laughed and turned around to start practising happily

"Uhhh ok, well I'm going to go practice with Kageyama," said Hinata while backing away from me slowly
"Anyway, I'm Ryūnosuke Tanaka you can call me upperclassman since I AM your upperclassman," he said while smiling and pointing at himself
I just giggled and nodded before looking over to the tall tall guy
"Hello, I'm Asahi Azumane nice to meet you," he said awkwardly
He may look "scary" but he seems nice

I then looked at the small guy. His hair was really cool it was all spiked up with a blond streak running through his brown hair
"Hi there, I'm Yū Nishinoya but you can call me yours," he said as he winked at me
I laughed at his pick up line while everyone else rolled their eyes and cringed
Tsukishima and the green haired guy walked back into the gym so Coach Ukai shouted for everyone to go back to practice
When everyone started practicing the black haired girl waved at me and signalled for me to go over to her
I walked over to her with a smile and said "Hello! I'm Y/n L/n, you can call me Y/n,"
I put my hand out for her to shake

Suddenly Tanaka and Nishinoya came up to me while shouting

"CAN YOU SHAKE MY HAND SO ITS LIKE I'M TOUCHING HER HAND?"
At that point I couldn't even tell who was saying what as they were both just shouting and fangirling over Kiyoko until Daichi came up behind them grabbed them by the collars and said "Sorry about that Y/n" before dragging them away and saying things to them madly
"It's ok!" I shouted before turning back to Kiyoko
"Is it okay if I call you Kiyoko?" I asked while looking at Kiyoko
"Of course!" She said with a big smile
"Thanks! Your name is really pretty" I complimented her
"Thank you! I love your name, it's quite unique" she said with the same smile still on her face
I smiled at her before she said "I should probably get water for everyone would you like to help?"
"Sure, I'd love to help," I said smiling practically the whole time
I think my face hurts from all this smiling
"Ok great," she said while walking off to collect the bottles, I followed behind her and picked up the second basket of bottles. We then went out the gym and walked over to the tap and started filling them up
"So, what year are you in?" I asked her while taking all the lids of the empty bottles
"I'm in third year- actually, that reminds me, I should probably start looking for a second manager soon," she said while quickly filling up the bottles, she done it at super speed, I watched her amazed.
I shook my head and closed my mouth as I stopped looking at her inhumanly talent of filling up water bottles "Is it boring being a manager?" I asked her curiously
"Maybe for other teams but Karasuno's team is quite an eventful bunch so there is never a dull moment" she laughed
"Yeah, I can see that, I've already got a headache and I was in there for like 10 minutes" I groaned while rubbing my head
"Are you in any clubs yet?" she asked as she raised her eyebrow
"No, I'm not. I've not found the thing I'm good at yet" I replied as I continued un lidding the bottles for her to fill up
"Well now I know who to go to when I start looking for a manager," she said with a smile and a wink
"How many managers are allowed?" I asked confused
"I'm actually not sure, I think we're allowed three," she said while thinking
"Interesting," I said as she filled up the last bottle
"So who do you like? Tsukishima or Kageyama?" she questioned with a smirk
"Gross, none of them! WHY DO PEOPLE KEEP ASSUMING I GO OUT WITH EITHER OF THEM?" I shouted frustrated
"Mhmmm sureee," she said sarcastically as she smirked and put all the bottles in the basket
"No, not you too," I said with a groan, she just giggled and started walking back inside. I picked up the bottle basket and ran in with her
"Y/N! Y/N! Watch me do my quick attack!" Hinata said bombarding the minute I stepped into the gym

"Sure!" I said trying to sound energetic as I put the bottle basket on the ground
Hinata then ran up to Kageyama and begged him to set for him, he refused at first before finally giving in once Hinata said it was to show me. I think Kageyama just wanted to show off in front of me.
Before I could even realise what was happening Hinata was high up in the air. I watched in amazement as he smacked the ball and it made a loud bang on the floor, when he landed I ran up to him and Kageyama
"YOU GUYS ARE AMAZING THAT WAS SO COOL!" I shouted happily. I suddenly felt so much energy after what I just witnessed
"I KNOW RIGHT! I WENT WOOSH THEN BAM AND THE BALL HIT THE FLOOR" he shouted back
"AND THE BOOM AND THE BANG WAS ALL SO COOL! BUT HOW DO YOU JUMP SO HIGH?" I asked confused
"I DON'T KNOW! IT JUST HAPPENS," he said with a huge smile
"God, can you guys stop shouting" Kageyama groaned annoyed
"Don't be an old man," I said while rolling my eyes at him. He made a grumpy face and turned away "Awww is someone grumpy" I said in a baby tone
Before he could reply couch Ukai interrupted "Ok practice is over, everyone go get changed"
Everyone started walking off but before Hinata walked off he looked at me "Y/n you should come watch us after school, we'll play way better then! Everyone is still pretty tired right now"
"Maybe, I'll have to see if I'm busy or not" I replied unsure
"YAY!" he said while walking of to get changed
I walked over to Kiyoko who was smiling at me "Should we go to class?" I questioned
"We could but we still have like 10 more minutes till class starts" she replied with a shrug
"Oh right, is it okay if I go to the vending machines?" I asked with a raised eyebrow. I knew I wasn't a manager but if I could help then I wanted to
"Yeah sure, the boys don't make much mess in the morning so there's nothing really to clean up," she said while smiling at the semi-clean gym
"Ok, bye Kiyoko! Bye coach Ukai! Bye Takeda!" I said while waving at them all and walking out
I walked up to the vending machines and started counting my money, somehow, I didn't have enough which was very weird since I swear I had enough this morning

While I was thinking someone suddenly spoke from behind me "Do you need money?"
I turned around already knowing who it was by his voice
"YOU CAN'T JUST SNEAK UP ON PEOPLE LIKE THAT!" I said scared as I looked up at Kageyama and he rolled his eyes
"Do you need the money or not? Some of us are thirsty you know" he said looking at the vending machine with puppy eyes
"Didn't you get water though?" I questioned confused
"Yes, but I still want some milk. Now, do you need the money or not?" he asked with a raised eyebrow, loosing his patience
"Can't you just go to the vending machine next to this one?" I questioned him
"I prefer this vending machine, it's better. NOW, DO YOU WANT THE MONEY OR NOT?" he said with an angry face
"What happened to the good mood?" I said trying to not laugh
"I am not asking again," he said as he crossed his arms
"I may or may not need the money," I said nervously as I huffed
"Here," he said as he tried to give me some money
"No no! because then I'll owe you money"
"Nah, it's fine, I'm in a generous mood today," he said as he tried to pass the money to me again
"You're in a lot of moods today," I said with a tiny giggle. He stared at me with his robot face, his intense eyes were staring into my soul and I started getting nervous
"Fine! Sorry, you're very very generous and kind and I'll pay you back tomorrow," I said and he smirked and finally managed to give me the money
I turned back to the vending machines and pushed in the buttons, I put Kageyama's money in and retrieved my strawberry milk
I turned back around smiled at Kageyama and moved out the way so he could get his milk
"Aren't you going to go to class?" He asked while typing in the buttons
"Don't we have history together?" I said looking at him confused
"Yeah" he replied
"So, I'll walk with you to class then," I said as I drank my strawberry milk
"Fine," he said while collecting his milk and rolling his eyes
"Are you bipolar or something?" I asked him
"Uh no?" He said as he looked at me confused
"Oh, you just seem to like... switch moods A LOT," I said with a laugh
"What do you mean?" he questioned genuinely confused
"Ok, so I've named your moods, 1. Robot Kageyama 2. Douchbag Kageyama 3. Dry Kageyama 4. Moody Kageyama and 5. Angry/childish Kageyama" I said as I looked at him proudly
"Yeah, I'm NEVER talking to you again," Kageyama said with wide shocked scared eyes
"WHAT?? I'm just observant!"
"I saw you walk into a lamppost the other day," he said with a laugh
"That's because I was deep in thought!" I said seriously
"I'll try to name your moods then," Kageyama said as he looked at me and drank his milk
"Go on," I said intrigued
"Ok so, 1. Fake Y/n," he said with a straight face
"What do you mean?" I asked confused
"You fake all your emotions your 'stupidness' is just away for you to make people laugh, your 'happiness' is just so you can please others, your 'meanness' is a way for you to deflect your hurt-" I cut him off so he couldn't say anything else
"OK OK I GET IT," I said as I rolled my eyes
"So am I right?" He said with a raised eyebrow
