𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐓𝐇𝐑𝐄𝐄: ☹︎𝐂𝐇𝐎𝐂𝐎𝐋𝐀𝐓𝐄 𝐒𝐊𝐈𝐋𝐋𝐄𝐓 𝐂𝐎𝐎𝐊𝐈𝐄☹︎

𝐈𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐨𝐫𝐲, when Bella Swan heads out with a single thing in mind she does it without question. She was a driver. She put her mind to something and saw it through (when she forced herself off her lazy ass to get it done). If she wanted cake, she'd bake it. Had to get her homework done, she'd get it done (though she never really wanted to do her homework). If she wanted to lay around on her lazy ass chugging soda and stuffing her cheeks with Nacho cheese flavoured Doritos (the superior flavour, she will die on this hill), she will. If she was willing to drive her fat ass down to La Push to get her hands on the most tantalizing ooey-gooey pecan chocolate skillet cookie the size of her fucking head with vanilla ice cream to top it, you bet your fucking ass she would.

In theory...

In practice, in fûcking practice, Ted had betrayed her and broken down a mile after crossing into La Push. Her POS truck just had to break down.

In practice the universe hated her.

In practice, Bella began to hysterically cry.

Fuck you testosterone!

Banging her fist against the wheel, she sobbed into her palms. "I just wanted a big fucking cookie! Is that too much to fucking ask for!" She raged, looking up at the stained roof.

She punched the steering wheel again, "Why did you do this to me, Ted? Huh?" She asked the truck. "I thought we were friends, you know. You're the only dude who hadn't pissed me off today," she continued to babble through her tears. "You were doing so well, then had to pull this shit," another punch to the wheel, her knuckle popped painfully and she winced and sobbed loudly.

Laying her head against her tree she cried to herself lamenting her pathetic existence as her uterus screamed at her for not getting herself pregnant after all the hard work it had done to welcome a fertilized egg.

"I just wanted a fûcking cookie."

A knock on her window had her screeching and flinching violently away from the sound. "What the Fûck?!"

She turned and made eye contact with a vaguely familiar face.

"Sorry, didn't mean to scare you," his voice was low gravel, his eyes a deep dark brown, he was tall, Quileute. Bella tried to place his face as she rolled her window down slightly. "You're kind of blocking the way, Swan."

Bella blinked at the man for a moment sniffling slightly as she studied his face silently. "Sam?" The name rolled off her tongue before she could truly place it. "Sam Uley."

The man smiled but it looked foreign on his bronze face especially when his nostrils flared and his stare darkened. "Are you okay?"

Bella felt her lips start to tremble and Sam's eyes widened in horror. "No," she cried, shaking her head, fat wet tears streaming down her cheeks. "I'm not okay!"

Sam exhaled through his nose, "Open the door would you?"

Bella hesitated and Sam frowned, "I used to Babysit you, Bella, your dad is the chief of police here, open the door."

She opened the door and Sam swung it all the way open to peer at the crying girl. "I just wanted a fucking cookie!"

Sam nodded slowly and reached into the car to pop the hood. As Bella cried to herself, Sam went around to check the engine.

"That is all I wanted, a cookie and ice cream, lots of ice cream," Bella whined her grey eyes trained in the tuffs of black hair over the rusted red hood. "My day has been terrible. Why are boys, such idiots?"

"I have no idea," Sam hummed slightly from where he stood.

"He just had to embarrass me in front of everyone then stand around like a dumbass when I got mad at him, why doesn't he ever consider how I feel, ya know?" She rambled and Sam hummed coming around and pushing her across the bench, she turned and crossed her legs beneath her so she looked at him directly as he tried to start the engine. "All he does is whine and bitch about me not communicating," she scoffed, her tears long forgotten, "Me? Not communicating? I'm communicating right now-."

"Your car stinks," he grunted.

"Yeah it smells like my boyfriend's dumbass, I swear it's like he takes a piss in it when I'm not looking, what kind of bullshît-!"

"Bella," Sam cut her off and she pursed her lips and stared up at his large figure with wide grey eyes. They stared at one another for a long moment. "Your engine's dead-."

"Fan-fucking-tastic!" Bella threw her hands up angrily.

"I don't have anything in my car to help, I'll call someone to help tow it to a nearby mechanic, he's good at what he does, cheap too," he explained pulling the keys out of the ignition. "I was on my way to pick up my fiancé from the supermarket-.

Bella gasped, "You're getting married?! Congratulations! I love weddings!" She clapped her hands and Sam didn't seem to know if he should smile or frown.

"You hate weddings."

"I hate weddings," she confirmed with a small bob of her head. Sam shook his head and pulled his phone from his pocket. "But I better be invited."

"If you stop crying, I may just consider it."

Bella quickly wiped her tears away with her sleeve.

Sam's lips twitched in amusement. "I'll call, you stay there."

Bella's eyes widened in a puppy-like manner and she beamed, making her hands into paws she released a little "Arf!"

"Don't make dog jokes, you can't win."

Bella shrugged, "I'm more into leach jokes," she joked and Sam suddenly turned. His gaze was heavy, his eyes nearly animalistic. The two stared at one another. Sam's eyes seemed to be prodding her for knowledge she wasn't supposed to know.

Bella cocked a brow and stared right back.

When he knew he wasn't gonna get what he wanted to he huffed through his nose and made his way back to his truck. Bella leant back against the passenger seat door just as her phone rang.

Pulling it from her back pocket, she frowned at Jasper's name flashing across the screen. "Yellow?"

"Blue," Jasper answered almost immediately and Bella beamed.

"How may I help you, Jaz?"

"Just checking in, Alice couldn't see you after you left school," his deep southern drawl trickled through the speaker. Bella frowned.

"And why is Alice watching me?"

It was silent a moment before Alice's voice replaced his, "Because Edward is moping and when he checked your house he realized you weren't there and-."

"Why did he go to my house?" Bella interrupted with an even deeper frown.

"Well-."

"I told him I didn't want him to show up," Bella couldn't help but snap.

"You know how Edward is-."

"Yes, I do, that's why I asked for fucking space!" Bella raised her voice in annoyance and heard Alice whine in response. She felt a stab of guilt when she realized she was shouting at the wrong person.

"Sorry, Ali, I'm just frustrated, you know?" Bella softened her tone and laid her head against the glass, slipping her eyes shut.

"Yeah, I know."

"He asks me to draw lines in the sand, and when I do he tramples them, but he draws them I'm suddenly in the wrong, that's not fair like I get it, he's a big bad vamp dude but that's not how it's meant to work" Bella sighed.

It was silent on the other end and Bella felt her eyebrows crease, "He just heard me didn't he?"

"Yeah..."

"I don't want to talk to you today," Bella addressed Edward from wherever he was in the room. "I don't. So how about we talk tomorrow or something, okay?"

A knock on the side of the truck drew her attention to Sam who pointed down the road, "They'll be here in about ten minutes."

She nodded, "Thanks, Sam, I appreciate it," the older man nodded and leant against the truck and stared off into the trees.

"Who are you with?" It was Emmett's voice that filtered through the phone this time around.

"An old friend, my car broke down on my way down to La Push."

"Why were you going down to La Push?" It was Esme's voice that came through.

"I wanted a Cookie, I still want a cookie," she hummed lightly before flicking her gaze toward Sam who was holding his phone in his large hand. "Hey, Sam?"

The man grunted in acknowledgment.

"Will you take me to get a cookie?"

"Do you want a cookie?" He looked back to peer at her.

"Yes, very much."

"Then yeah."

She beamed, "Yay," she turned her attention back to her phone call. "I'm still getting a cookie."

"You went all the way down to La Push to get a cookie?" Rosalie's voice was cold, sarcastic and judgemental.

"A cookie skillet, yeah." Bitch.

"You don't plan on eating that all on your own do you?" Carlisle joined the party.

"You don't know me at all, Doctor, I will not let a cookie the size of my head defeat me."

Sam snorted lightly from where he stood and bell straightened her left leg out to poke him. "Bet."

~~~~~
Unfortunately, Bella wouldn't go and get her cookie first. After her truck was towed and they followed the guy back to his business and paid for the service( which was surprisingly cheap), they made a U-turn to the supermarket to pick up his fiancé. Bella was moping.
"It's just cookie."
"Say that to my goddamn Uterus, Samuel," she threw at him as she laid her head back against the headrest. "Let me mope! Woe is me and whatnot."
The older man huffed as he pulled into the parking lot. He looked out the window and seemed to perk up like a golden retriever. Bella was instantaneously interested in who could make a large man like himself look like he was just given a bone.
She followed his gaze and smiled, "Oh she's pretty."
"Yeah, she is."
The woman who was mailing her way toward them was bronze-skinned (like most people in La Push) with bone dark hair braided out her face. Her deep brown eyes were slight with contentment and happiness. Her smile was bright and infectious. She was stunning. Even with the two claw marks marring her face.
Bella vaguely noted it was not the person she remembered him dating.
Sam stepped out of the truck as the woman pushed the overflowing cart towards them.
"Sorry I' late Em," Sam quickly peppered the woman's face with kisses. She beamed.
"It's no problem, I went back in and got a few extra things."
Bella hesitantly climbed out of the truck and made her way around drawing the couple's attention. She stood there awkwardly and waved.
"Em, this is Bella Swan," Sam introduced, motioning to the teenager.
"Oh, the Chief's daughter!" The woman's smile was warm and welcoming as she suddenly walked forward and enveloped the younger of the two in a motherly hug. Bella tensed a moment and her vision tunnelled.
"I refuse! I refuse this! I refuse you!"
Yellow eyes.
Black fur.
Claws the size of knives.
Blood.
Screaming.
"E-Emily? E-em, Em? No! No! No! I didn't mean to-I didn't- oh god!"
"I'm Emily Young, it's nice to meet you," she pulled back and Bella took a moment to blink the image away but when she did, she forced an equally bright smile onto her face.
"It's nice to meet you too, sorry about making you wait, my, uh, my truck broke down and Sam offered to help," she motioned to the large man who began to load the groceries into the truck bed.
Emily had a look of disbelief across her face, "Sam, a helper?" She looked over her shoulder at her fiancé who scowled in the offence. "Look who's turning over a new leaf."
"Ha, ha."
~~~~

Much to her relief, after dropping Emily off at their shared house and helping her unload the groceries, Sam took Bella to get the cookie she had moping about for the past few hours. When they pulled up to the dinner Bella was practically vibrating in her seat.

"Can we go? Can we go now?"

Sam released an exasperated sigh at her eagerness. "Let's get your cookie," Bella clapped her hands happily and practically dove out of the truck.

"Come on!"

"Bella, it's just a cookie."

"It is heaven in a skillet!"

The two walked into the dinner and Sam looked around in hopes to spot someone.

"Yo, Sammy," the two turned and spotted a girl not much older than Bella. Bella blinked when she realized Sam wasn't much older than her either, he just looked fifty and twenty at the same time. She vaguely had similar features to Emily, but unlike Emily she had her hair cropped to just above her shoulders and pin drop straight to frame her pretty face.

Pretty but severe.

She didn't smile when she looked at them, she simply cocked an eyebrow like she was already annoyed by their presence.

"I thought I said to keep the flees outside," she hummed as topped up a customer's coffee.

"And I thought the bitches were out back," he retorted and the girl's lips twitched upward reluctantly before they zeroed in on Bella who was looking around silently. Her face was shy but her eyes were eager.

"Who's the golden retriever?"

Bella whipped her head around with a frown. Who the fuck was she calling a golden retriever?!

"Bella Swan who else."

The young woman blinked and raised her brows, "Bella Swan? The Bella Swan, the little shit who stuffed mud down my pants when we were kids Bella Swan?"

The said girl blinked before releasing a loud snort, "Leah Clearwater! I will never forget the face of absolute horror, it was seasoned."

"I'm sure it was," she held out her hand for Bella to shake witch she did eagerly. Only to once again tense as her vision tunnelled.

"Sam what did you do?!"

Screams.

Blood.

Shaky hands.

Ragged breath.

"I d-d-didn't mean to!"

Bella blinked and let a little smile spread across her cheeks. "It's nice seeing you again, how's your mom? I saw Harry the other day, but I haven't seen Sue around much," Bella rambled slightly.

"That's cause Sue's always moving," Leah nodded to the back of the cafe and the three moved.

"So what can I get you?"

Bella brightened, "A pecan chocolate chip skillet cookie please, with extra ice cream," she ordered eagerly slipping into an empty booth.

"Do you want me to call an ambulance for the inevitable cardiac arrest you'll be going into?" Leah drawled sarcastically.

"I'm tiny but my body is made of iron."

"Sure Swan, Sure," Leah rolled her eyes and looked at Sam. "The usual?"

"Yeah," Sam grunted and Leah nodded turned on her heel.

Bella got her skillet cookie and dig into it happily, she ate at her own pace as Sam helped himself to his stack of pancakes (she thought waffles were superior). It wasn't long before Sam got a call.

"Your car's ready to pick up."

"But I'm not done!" Bella whined, pointing at her half-eaten cookie.

"I didn't say you have to go, I'll go get it, you finish your cookie."

Bella Beamed as Sam got up to leave. He turned to pay but Bella shook her head. "Don't worry I got it, you've done enough for me today."

Sam raised a dark brow and nodded before leaving and Bella was thankful that he didn't argue. She couldn't stand the I'm the man, I should pay troupe. It sucked.

Her attention went back to her cookie.

It was a pretty damn good cookie.

Like really fucking good.

Like she needs to get her hands in the recipe.

Damn.

She should bring Angela here.

But damn this cookie was Bussin'!

~~~~~~~
New chapter!
Yay!
It's sucks but it is what is! I refuse that bs plotline with Sam, Emily and Leah. Leah is a queen who deserved better, Emily Is a God who deserves the work and Sam shouldn't be an emotional idiot.
I said what I said.
Fight me.
Anywhore, you know the drill, vote and comment, and I'll see you when I see you.
