Henlooooo, I am a tired person with no self control. I apologize in advance if I say or do something unprofessional.

This was done for fun, so I most likely won't do much on it?

You smiled up at the night sky as you cradled your youngest baby in your arms. He had just dozed off, his soft breathing barely mixing in with the midnight chorus of the forest mountains.

"My sweet boy, what a treasure you are." You cooed quietly.

He was only five months into this life, and you were determined to make it all worthwhile for him and his older siblings. Sadly, as much as you tried, that proved to be a bit difficult. There were always curses trying to attack your family because of who you were.

Oh? You don't know, reader?

You are (L/n) (Y/n), the greatest sorceress in all of Ancient Japan, and you are retired.

You had always wanted to keep your children out of the sorcerer's life, wanting them to live as peacefully as they could without dealing with the hardships you had to struggle with. It was difficult in such an old era, you were aware of how primitive life currently was.

Your husband was against this at first, complaining about it being the only reason he wanted children in the first place. He even tried to train your other two children behind your back. They quickly told you of it, though, because unlike most mothers, you actually listened to your children's concerns and didn't mock them.

Eventually, an agreement was sealed with, "We helped create them, but we do not control them. We give them guidance when they want it." He knew better than to argue with you on this, fuckin' bottom, and your children were significantly happier.

All of your years of knowing him, you could confirm that he was a battle fanatic. You just never believed that he would actually put them through something that, behind your back to add!

You shook your head, not wanting to overthink. You'd just keep an eye out for him.

After a few moments, you sat up and went to check on your kids.

First, Chibi. She was the eldest at four and a half years old. She had inherited your bright eyes and her father's golden hair. She was a helpful and kind soul with a fair mindset. She also showed signs of inheriting your powers instead of her father's.

Your husband was rather overjoyed from this news, to your concern.

Totally bragging, but your abilities were significantly greater than your husband's. He was never much of a fighter to begin with, but even if he did go full power against you, he would still lose in under five minutes.

Chibi was breathing softly, her long locks resembling golden rivers spilling off of her pillow. She was so peaceful and adorable, you smiled as you slowly closed the door.

Next was Hayao. He was named Hayao because of how fast he was at everything. At only a few hours old, he tried to raise his head up and had already focused his eyes! It was alarming how impatient he was. He was a male child clone of you, with hints of your powers as well.

Again, your husband was ecstatic over this.

You sweatdropped at how the blankets were a tangled mess and how the three year-old drooled all over his pillow. "I'd rather not." You sighed, closing the door as you left.

"It's time to put you back to sleep, my dear." You looked down at the baby boy in your arms, named Kofuku. He was a rather deep sleeper, his long lashes forming shadows on his chubby cheeks from the lights of the nearby lanterns. You internally squealed, amazed by such wonderful children.

"I can't wait to watch you all grow up."

After laying Kofuku in his cradle, you released a silent yawn. You had been awake for the last three days with no sleep, since your husband went down to the village on your behalf.

Your paranoia kept you awake, since you finally had something truly worth protecting.

Before you knew it, you were dragging your feet to your room, collapsing on your futon. Instantly, you were out like a light.

---

"MOMMY! WAKE UP!"

You jolted up from your sleep, eyes meeting with two of your children. Chibi and Hayao, both crying and coughing. The smell of smoke stung your throat and eyes and an irritating static-like pain resided in your waist. You noticed your children's terrified stare and followed it to your hip.

Part of the ceiling had fallen, and a small spike impaled your hip. Luckily, it didn't hit anything vital, so you pulled it out with careful speed. "What happened?" You scooped the two kids into your arms and ran through the house, avoiding the rising flames with ease.

"W.. we don't know! I woke up hearing voices and saw flames in the hallway!" Chibi sobbed on your shoulder. "The fire was blocking Kofuku's room, I couldn't get through it! I'm sorry, Momma...!" She cried as quietly as she could, her small body shaking.

You frowned as you made it out of the house in no time, and rested the two crying kids on the wet grass further away from the house. "You did perfectly fine, Chibi. I got it from here." You ran back into the house holding a thumbs up. "Find someplace to hide until I come back. If I don't return, go down the river to the blacksmith!"

He was the only one you trusted in that village, he was also the only one strong enough to protect and provide until your husband returned from his mission. Besides, the blacksmith owed more than a few favors over the years that you two have known each other.

As you ran through the burning house, you saw that the hallway was indeed far too much for little Chibi to handle. A giant pile of flaming wood blocked the entire hallway, and you could hear the sound of an infant sobbing and choking. "Kofuku!" You called out, raising your forearms to protect your face as you burst through the burning debris.

It was too dangerous to use any cursed energy, but you had a body of steel when you focused hard enough.

But you were always focused, even in sleep. So why did the spike manage to injure you?

You grit your teeth, wincing at the stinging pain on your hip. You didn't waste your time trying to calm Kofuku as you rushed into his room. He was a baby in a house on fire, there wasn't much you could do.

Still, when you scooped the ash-coated baby into your arms, you couldn't help but mumble comforting nonsense as you rushed out the the side of the house.

In a matter of seconds, you had made it out of the burning home. Kofuku started a coughing fit, so you simply patted his back to help soothe out the smoke he had inhaled. "There, there. You're safe now." You smiled, hearing your baby breathe properly once more. You looked up, your other kids out of sight.

"Kids, I'm back!"

No response.

You smiled.

"Wisteria spiders."

The two small children rushed out from behind a far off tree, tears trailing down their dirty cheeks. Without a single word, they grabbed onto your legs and sobbed in relief.

You sweatdropped, "Have some faith in me, at least." You sighed and began to walk, though they had wrapped themselves around your legs like sad koalas.

Stopping at a nearby river, you began to clean your youngest up as Chibi and Hayao rubbed the ash off of each other's faces. This river you mentioned before led to the rest of the village and practically went through the blacksmith's backyard.

It was smooth throughout the whole trip, so there wouldn't be any issues walking through it. It wasn't too deep for Chibi and Hayao, but someone would need to hold Kofuku.

You told them to dunk their bodies in, and noticed that Chibi was wearing a sling on her back. She was really going to try and get Kofuku out of his room.

You suddenly winced and quickly covered it with a grin, placing said baby into the sling. Chibi looked up at you, her golden hair stuck to her chubby face.

"Momma?"

You placed a finger on your lips, signaling for them to start walking through the river. Hayao's bottom lip quivered at the growing patch of blood on your robes, but he held it in and gave you one last hug from within the river. Chibi followed as well, her small figure shaking as she held you once more.

With one last kiss on their foreheads, they began trudging down the river without you.

You turned around, rage in your eyes. The arrow that was shot through your stomach was ripped out, though you couldn't help but hiss at the pain.

"So you're the one who started the fire? Come out, you coward."

The sound of grass moving told someone was indeed revealing themselves, and your throat went dry at the sight of who it was.

"Ren?! What is the meaning of this?" You gaped at your husband, who was holding a bow and a quiver of cursed arrows. His shoulders shook in a concealed laugh, "I poisoned your food, set your house on fire, and even shot you in the stomach!" He grinned sadistically.

"You really are one of a kind, (Y/n)! And now that you have given me powerful children, I have no need for you!" He prepared his arrow, eyes filled with bloodlust.

"The Ito clan will be reborn with more power than ever dreamed of, thanks to your womb!"

You dodged the incoming arrow with ease, red filling your vision. This entire time, he had been using you for his own selfish desires?

You should've known, this era was full of men like him, but you expected Ren to be different. "All these years of knowing you and loving you, this was really how you felt?"

"Is there really any other way to feel?" He shrugged, "You have a womb, so put yourself to work. Especially when it's for a clan that's down to one."

Oh yes, the scent of death would definitely be arriving tonight.

"When I heard of your rise to the top, I saw it as the perfect opportunity to properly revive my clan!" Ren cackled, shooting arrow after arrow. "Hope you don't mind when I claim your powers for the Ito men."

You growled beneath your breath, "You're a bitch for that!" How could you end him without destroying the whole area out of rage? Your children were still nearby, and they definitely wouldn't be able to escape in time. You'd have to end this quick, to your disappointment.

You closed your eyes and faded into thin air, at least to Ren's eyes. Leaping into the trees, you spoke.

"What do you plan on doing with my children after you kill me?" Your voice echoed in the clearing as Ren anxiously looked around.

"I mean, you're so confident that I'll perish by your hands, so I might as well hear your plans for their future before I pass on." You struggled to hide your laughs as you spoke, but it was successful.

"Like I'd ever tell you, stupid meat head!"

You sighed, this was getting nowhere. "I'd hate to say it, but now that I've seen this side of you," You were in front of him in a heartbeat, "I declare the Ito clan done in."

You thrust your arm through his chest, ignoring the blood that splashed across your face and clothes as you did so. "Live the rest of your afterlife knowing you were the reason for the fall of your pathetic clan." You retracted your arm, his beating heart in hand.

His eyes widened, and his mouth opened in a silent scream. "Damn... you, wench!" He managed to utter as he weakly gripped your arm.

Pain.

That was all you felt in that moment.

It echoed throughout your body, changing everything that once was. Fire stretched your skin from beneath, tearing your muscles apart and welting them back together. Bones rattled and your heartbeat repeatedly changed from stopping to furiously beating. Your brain was screaming for you to leave as your nerves went haywire.

You gasped, your knees quivering from the pain. He fell to the ground, a sick grin on his face as he passed on.

"What.. what did you do to me?!" You grit your teeth, clenching your fist to hold in your screams. You could feel everything within you change, and realizing what it was made it worse.

How could you return to your children like this?

No, you were the one person they needed the most right now!

---

Chibi and Hayao sat before each other by the fire, Kofuku sound asleep in the arms of the blacksmith. The moment he had spotted them pulling each other out of the river in his backyard, he went right to what you told him to do, back when you were barely a month within pregnancy with Chibi.

He had fed them and given them clean clothes and blankets as he peeked out the window every five seconds. "Don't worry, kids. Your mother is the strongest person I know. She won't go down so easily."

He had tried to cheer them up, but the memory of blood soaking more and more of your robes as the tip of the arrow poked through your stomach wasn't very easy to forget.

The blacksmith looked out his window, black eyes brightening as a smile stretched across his plump lips, "I see her!"

The two children jumped up, rushing out of the house before the man could even blink. They paused at the sight of you, and their lips trembled once more.

Chibi had fallen to her knees, covering her mouth to keep in her screams. Hayao didn't know whether to run towards you or away from you. The blacksmith followed them, the joy on his face instantly drained.

You stood there, wavering like a thin branch in the breeze. Blood soaked through your clothes, and your eyes were all white. You coughed weakly, shivering like Death was grazing your spine with his fingertips, but he would never touch you.

Chibi finally regained her thoughts and spoke up in a trembling tone.

"Momma... you're a curse!"
