TW: Violence
"You sent me the wrong file again, Sec.Andres." I think this is the nth time I scolded this secretary.
"I'm so sorry ma'am, I'll sent the right file right away."
I shook my head in disappoinment as I ended the call. I stood up from my swivel chair and went outside this library.
"Tapos mo na ba yung mga pinapagawa ko?" Tanong ko kay Lucifer nang maabotan ko itong nanonood ng sine.
"Yes. Everyone was thankful and grateful but the board members aren't."
"Tss." I sat at the single sofa and rested my back. "I already know they are going to bragged about it. Hindi naman na nila kailangan ng pangkabuhayan business, ang dami na nilang na-corrupt sa kompanya ko."
"They sure did. Bukas lalarga na papuntang US yung mga ililipat sa branch doon."
"Good." I nodded. "As soon as the building got cleared I want the demolition to start right away. Doon ko ipapatayo ang hospital at doon naman sa property ng dating kompanya ni Haven ko ipapatayo ang orphanage."
"Mabuti naman kung ganoon. How did you manage to buy that property by the way?"
"Well I offered them 1.5 Billion in return." I smirked. "And because it's a big amount of price they immediately took it and Haven have done nothing about their decision."
Natahimik si Lucifer kaya naman taka ko itong nilingon. Nakatitig lang siya saakin.
"What?"
"You're so different." Umiwas siya ng tingin.
"They switched my humanity off, what do you expect?" I rolled my eyes at him and stood up to go to the kitchen.
"They switched your humanity off pero naisipan mong magpatayo ng hospital at orphanage? That's just ironic, Satana."
"I have nothing to do with my money and there is nothing wrong with using it at least with sense." Naglagay ako ng alak sa dalawang baso at pagkatapos ay ibinigay ko sa kaniya ang isa. "And I think switching off my humanity is not a bad thing at all. Mas gusto ko nga yun eh. Wala akong nararamdaman na kahit ano. All I can feel is the eagerness to finish all of these." Saad ko pa habang naglalakad papunta sa veranda ramdam ko namang nakasunod siya saakin.
"Vraxx is worried for you, he came here yesterday while you were busy at the library." He stated and I just laughed at it a little. "I explained to him what happened to you."
"He was the one who triggered the switch, Lucifer." Paharap akong sumandal sa railings at bahagyang tumingila para tignan ang bilog na buwan. "I told him to take back every painful thing he said to me but he refused. The pain was just too much and it triggered the darkness inside me to collapsed. And now, he can't to anything about it."
"I am also concerned for you, Satana." I glanced at him with a small smile.
"Thank you but you don't have to." Nilapitan ko siya at ibinagay sa kaniya ang baso ko. "Matutulog na ako. Magpahinga kana rin."
Pagkapasok ko sa kwarto ay agad kong ginawa ang routine ko. After wearing my night gown I lay on my bed and went to sleep. Pero agad din naman akong nagising nang maramdaman ko ang presensya ni Lucifer sa loob ng kwarto ko. Sinenyasan niya ako na wag gumawa ng ingay habang papalakad papunta saakin. Maingat din akong napaupo sa kama habang kunot-noong nakatingin sa kaniya.
"There's someone in the house." He said.
"Okay? Ilan?"
"Hindi lalagpas ng sampo." I just nodded at him. Tumayo ako at maingat na binuksan ang cabinet ko para kumuha ng kutsilyo at baril na may silencer.
"Nasaan sila ngayon?" Tanong ko habang itinatali ang buhok ko.
"They are all over the house. Five in this floor and five downstairs. Ikaw na bahala dito sa taas ako na sa baba."
"Sige. Mag-iingat ka."
"Ikaw rin." And just like that he disappeared.
Lumapit ako sa kama ko at inayos ito. I put two pillows in the middle and covered it with my comforter properly. Napalingon ako sa pinto nang marinig kong sinusubukan itong buksan. I switched off my lamp and went beside the cabinet to hide. From where I am hiding I saw the intruder silently walking towards my bed. He pointed the gun to the pillow who he thinks is me, but before he could even pulled the trigger I shot him in the head with my gun. He fell into my bed and the white sheet immediately turned red because of his blood. Aalis na sana ako sa pinagtatagoan ko pero may biglang pumasok pang isa, rinig kong napamura ito nang makitang wala ng buhay iyong isa nilang kasamahan.
"Nandi--" Bago niya pa matawag ang iba niya pang kasama at pinputokan ko na rin siya sa ulo.
"Stupid." I smirked.
Lumabas ako ng kwarto at maingat ang bawat hakbang ko habang naglalakad dito sa mahabang hallway. I instantly hide myself beside this big vase when I heard someone is approaching. Nang mapadaan ito sa pwesto ko ay agad kong sinasak ng kutsilyo ang likod ng tuhod nito na siyang ikinasigaw niya.
"Ang ingay." Inis kong sambit bago ko ito sinaksak sa bibig. "Fuck!" Agad akong napatakbo pababa nang may biglang nagpaputok saakin. Gago ampota.
"May tama ka?" Agad na tanong saakin ni Lucy.
"Wala naman siguro. Tapos kana dito?"
"Oo. Ilan pa ang nasa taas?"
"Dalawa."
"Ako nang bahala sa kanila, dito ka lang." Pagkatapos bigla na lang siyang naglaho.
Kumuha ako ng malamig na tubig at umupo sa countertop bago ito inomin. I've heard multiple gunshots before everything went silent. As soon as the gunshots were gone the lights started to switched on.
"Damn it." I hissed as I scanned the whole living room. Bodies and blood all over. Bigla na lang sumulpot sa tabi ko si Lucifer at inagaw saakin ang hawak kong baso na may lamang tubig. "Who's going clean this?"
He finished the glass of water before snapping his fingers. My brows raised when the bodies and blood turned into dust and flew away.
"Cool." I uttered. I looked out the window and realized it's already morning, the sun is starting to raise. "Maliligo ako, cook me something to eat. May pupuntahan ako pagkatapos."
Bago pa siya makapagreklamo ay mabilis akong nakarating sa kwarto ko. Naligo ako at nagbihis, pagkatapos ay muli akong bumalik sa kusina. Nakahain na ang pagkain pero wala si Lucifer, baka naligo rin siya. Pagkatapos kong kumain lumabas ako ng bahay at dumeretso sa garahe. Gamit ang motorsiklo ko ay nilisan ko ang bahay. Demuretso ako sa subdivision kung saan nakatira si Haven, nagparking muna ako sa medyo malayo kung saan natatanaw ko si Haven na may kausap na lalake sa labas ng kotse niya. The guy went inside her car as she left her house. I wore my helmet and normally drive the opposite direction from hers. Nang tuloyan na siyang makaalis dito sa subdivision inihinto ko ang motor ko sa harap ng bahay nila. I throw a ticking bomb inside her territory and swiftly drove away. Napangisi na lang ako nang makarinig ako ng malakas na pagsabog.
Sa sobrang bilis ng patakbo ko ng motor ay natanaw ko na yung kotse ni Haven. Muli akong napangisi at mas binilisan pa ang pagda-drive, nang makatabi ko na ang sasakyan niya ay sinabayan ko na lang din ang bilis niya. I glanced inside the car only to find out that she's not alone, the guy is still with her. And I know for sure he's one of the intruder earlier but he was the one waiting at the run away vehicle. Without further ado, I took my gun inside my jacket shot him at the head, I also gave Haven a shot on her shoulder before shooting the tires of her car. Muli kong binilisan ang patakbo ko ng motor at tinawagan si Lucy, I gave him an address and told him to wait for me there. I also told him to bring me some clothes.
Nang makarating ako sa binigay kong address sa kaniya naabotan ko siyang nakasandal sa kotse habang humihithit ng sigarilyo. Hinubad ko muna ang helmet ko bago ako umalis sa pagkakaankas sa motor.
"What have you done this time?" He tiredly ask. I just gave him a smirk.
"Burn the vehicle." Pagtukoy ko sa motor na ginamit ko. Napailing-iling na lang siya bago ito ginagawa. I took off my clothes, leaving only my underwear. Sinuot ko ang dalang damit ni Lucy bago ko idinamay sa nasusunog na motor ang damit na sinuot ko kanina. "Umalis na tayo dito." Nauna akong pumasok sa kotse at agad naman siyang sumunod.
"Saan na tayo ngayon?" Tanong niya habang nagda-drive.
"Sa bar ni Nicholas." Tinangoan niya na lang ako bilang tugon. Tahimik na lang din akong bumaling sa labas ng bintana.
I felt so empty.
Nang makarating kami sa bar ay agad kaming dumeretso sa loob. At dahil umaga pa, as usual the bar is gloomy, slow music and soft lights.
Kakaupo pa lang namin ay biglang sumulpot si Nicholas sa tabi ko. Agad namang napairap si Lucifer.
"Wear this." He offered me a sun glasses. "Your eyes are disturbing my customers, Satana."
"Tss." Nakangisi ko itong sinuot. "I have a beautiful eyes, Nicholas. Right, Lucifer?"
"Hindi ko alam." Natural nitong usal na ikinatawa ni Nicholas, napangiwi na lang din ako. "Bakit mo ba naisipang pumunta dito?"
"I'm bored." Inilabas ko ang cellphone ko at naghanap ng pwedeng panooran ng balita. "News this days are very interesting." I said as I watched a news about of course Haven.
"I knew it. Dito ka na naman dumeretso kasi may ginawa ka na naman." Saad ni Nicholas.
"It's been just three fucking days since she switched her humanity off and yet she have done so many things." Dagdag pa ni Lucifer. Napangisi na lang din ako.
"I felt flattered."
Sabay silang napailing-iling na lang. Nicholas is really a good friend just like Lucifer. Sila lang ang kailangan ko at pwede kong malapitan, not because they are some kind of demons but because they understand me more than I could even understand myself.
"By the way, I went to the underworld yesterday, ipinatawag ako ni Damon." Nicholas said that instantly caught my attention. "We also talked about you, Satana."
"And then?" I asked.
"Hindi niya din alam kung papaanong kusang nakawala ang kadiliman sa loob mo. It wasn't him or anyone down there."
"That's okay, I didn't blame them tho." I smiled.
"That is not okay, Satana. That's not normal. You're the very first one who switched off the humanity itself." Lucy is about to loose his patience again, I held his hand that is above the table just to calm him and gave him a soft smile.
"When I say that it's okay, it is really okay for me. Because to be honest? Pagod na pagod na rin akong makaramdam." I sincerely said. His face softened and his eyes filled with sympathy. "The pain is too much and it's unbearable, Lucy."
"Athena." Agad kong nilingon si Vraxx na nakatayo sa may gilid namin. Tinignan niya pa ang kamay kong nakahawak kay Lucy kaya naman agad na inalis ni Lucy ang kamay niyang nakapatong sa mesa. "I was lo--"
"Great. Our order is here." Masigla kong sambit nang biglang dumating ang order namin, agad namang napatabi si Vraxx para bigyan daan ang waiter, nakangiti ko siyang tinignan. "If you want, you can freely join us." Nag-aalangan siyang napatingin kay Lucifer at Nicholas. "Come on, they are harmless, Vraxx."
"O-Okay." Maingat siyang tumabi kay Lucifer, kaharap niya naman ako kaya okay lang naman siguro iyon sa kaniya.
"Oo nga pala, Vraxx. This green eye here is Nicholas." itinuro ko si Nicholas na busy sa pagkain ng prutas. "He's the one who's going to erase your memory once I'm totally gone."
Pasimpleng binigyan ni Lucifer ng tubig si Nicholas nang bigla itong mabilaokan ng kinakain.
"What?" Halos sabay na usal ni Vraxx at Nicholas. I took my shot first and take off my sun glasses before looking Vraxx straight into his eyes.
"It's for your own good, Mr.Leenher. Once I finished my job here you won't see me again. And the memories we both made should be erased, same as those people who I interacted with." Deretso at walang alingan kong usal. Napalingon siya kay Lucifer, inaalam kung totoo yung sinabi ko.
"Sa oras na mawala na siya, Mr.Leenher kusa ring siyang mawawala sa alaala ng lahat ng taong nakasama at nakausap niya." Pagpapaliwanag ni Lucy. "It's like she was never here and no one will remember her existence. And she will be remembered as the victim of rape and murdered forever."
"And in your case, Mr.Leenher," Kay Nicholas naman kami napatingin. "You're quite special because Satana requested to me to do it for you."
"T-Teka lang." He looked at me in disbelief and in processed. "You said it yourself, memories that WE both made, so particularly you can't just decide. It should work both of us."
"Your decisions and opinion are not needed in this, Vraxx." I said coldly.
"That's not right, it's unfair."
"And you expect demons to be fair? We're quite mischievous, Mr.Leenher, and we're not even sorry about it." I put back my sun glasses and drink my shot.
"We're talking about my memory here, Athena. Easy for you to say because you're the one who's going to leave." What he said made me stop from drinking my another shot. "Hindi ikaw ang maiiwan kaya sobrang dali sayo ng lahat. And now that you can't feel anything it's so much easier for you leave me."
Pabagsak kong inilapag sa mesa ang baso dahilan kung bakit ito nabasag, I could feel my blood dripping because of the broken pieces that slices my skin.
"You told me that you regretted loving someone like me, Vraxx." I stood up and looked down on him feeling nothing. "You should be thankful because erasing your memories will be a lot easier for you to forget that you loved someone just like me." Ilang segundo ko pa siya tinignan bago ko siya tinalikoran. "Let's go home Lucifer."
I never wanted to be this heartless to him but I can't do anything because I'm already dead inside. And just looking and talking to him making it more worst.
