"Have you heard about the new foreign exchange student?"

"He's like, super hot."

"He has a cute British accent."

Word about the new foreign exchange student has been around for at least a week. Clay has never seen this new guy, but he's already heard great things about him.

Nobody even knew him yet, they were just making stuff up. He was supposed to start coming to Clay's school today and he was already being talked about.

George was a nervous wreck. His family wanted to move to America because his mom got this awesome new job that she couldn't refuse. He would rather stay in England, it seemed much nicer there than in Florida. Too many Americans here.

He had no idea how school would even be. It seemed a lot different than what it was like back home.

"Well, here goes nothing," George groaned as he walked out the door towards his mom's car.

He gulped when he saw the school. It was a lot bigger than he imagined. It also had a lot of people headed inside, and he knew absolutely nobody there.

George took a deep breath and walked inside. They all looked like zoo animals. There were people racing around the hallways and dropping books. There were multiple people yelling to each other. It was all very chaotic.

George was thinking about turning around to leave but he couldn't. Maybe he can get through this.

"Hey, can you point me to the front office please?" George asks a girl who looks really sweet.

"Oh, of course! You're the new british student aren't you?"

"Yup, that's me."

"My name is Kate. It's nice to meet you." She put her arm out to shake his, and he does the same. She looks him up and down before turning towards the front office to lead him there.

"I'm George. Nice meeting you too." Kate gave a warm smile and helped him find the front office.

"If you ever need anything let me know!" She waved and went to her first class.

"He's really cute," she said to herself after she left the front office.

George was glad he knew at least one person here. He waited outside the counselor's office until she called him inside.

"Hello, nice to meet you George. Welcome to America, I really hope you're enjoying it so far," she said with a nice smile.

She was middle aged and she looked like a genuinely sweet lady.

"It's been different for sure," George responded. She let out a small laugh and talked about the classes he would be taking, and gave him a map of the school.

Soon enough, it was time for first class. He had the map in one hand and his schedule in the other. "Let's see, B102..."

It took long enough but he found the classroom. AP english, a great class to have first thing in the morning.

He takes a seat up front in hopes that Kate would be there. Nope, she hasn't walked in. Maybe he would make more friends.

A guy sat next to him and had a letterman jacket on. "Hey, are you the new foreign student?"

George nodded.

"Nice to meet you. I'm Nick." He smiled at him, but George couldn't say anything because his teacher started talking. Class was actually easy and he's glad that Nick seemed pretty chill.

"How long have you been in America for?" Nick turned towards him, startling George who was so focused on the lesson that he forgot Nick was even there.

"Oh, only about a week. And it's my first time being here too."

"Sick," Nick replied. "Do you miss England?"

"Yeah I do, but I'm gonna give Florida a chance. It doesn't seem as bad as I thought it would be." Nick nodded in response and faced the teacher, pretending to be focused on the lesson when he really wasn't. George copied all the notes down and payed as much attention as possible.

Clay on the other hand was making jokes with all his friends in another classroom. He couldn't really pay attention during class, especially with his ADHD, so most of the time he didn't even try.

"Clay, nice touchdown last Friday. I know you're getting a scholarship to Florida State for sure," another jock told him.

"Thanks man. I really hope so." Clay smiled at the compliment. He was pretty much praised by everyone because of how good he is at football. He's won so many games for the school without even actually trying. His dad always said football first, school second. And he's always followed that rule.

His GPA wasn't the greatest, but he feels like he'll do decent on his end of year exams. As long as he does okay on those, he should be fine.

Clay hears a girl talking across the room.

"Yeah, he's like super cute. And he's super sweet too." Of course it's Kate, talking about whatever guy has fallen for her tricks.

Clay and Kate were friends, but he barely actually tolerated her. She talked bad about so many people, but she put on a fake face. So he put on a fake face towards her.

"Who is?" Clay asked, nosing into the conversation.

"The new guy, George." Kate thought Clay would be jealous hearing this, but he didn't seem to care that much.

"Hmm, that british kid everyone's talking about? Isn't he a junior?" Clay asked.

"Yeah, so?" Kate rolled his eyes, getting annoyed by Clay. She knew Clay had to be jealous by now.

Clay figured the new guy must be awesome if everyone's already talking about him. And it's only his first day here, that must be a lot for George.

Clay was friends with everyone, so he wanted to meet George too. He thought it would be good if George had another friend besides Kate, who probably just wanted to sleep with him anyways.

George and Nick talked for awhile, and whenever class ended they walked together. Nick kept talking about girls constantly. Nick definitely couldn't keep a relationship, he seemed like the type to have one night stands and never call the girl back.

Sadly, Nick and George had to split ways for their next classes. George had pre-calculus whilst Nick had gym class.

"What's up, man." Nick said to Clay as soon as he got to the gym.

"Hey dude, ready for some football?" Clay was excited for practice, football helps distract him from anything going on. When his dad gets pissed off at him, he finds football as a great distraction.

"Ready as I'll ever be!" Nick replied back. Nick was one of the best football players too.

They met up with some of the other players and practiced for almost the whole gym period. When it was ten minutes left, Nick and Clay sat in the bleachers waiting for the bell to ring.

"So, I met that new british guy. He's actually really chill." Clay looked over at Nick. "I haven't met him yet but I heard he's pretty cool."

Clay was genuinely curious about George. He hasn't even seen him yet, but he seems to already be almost as popular as Clay. And as far as he knew, George was a great guy to be around.

Nick and Clay kept talking, mainly about football and an upcoming party at their friend Wilbur's house. He was british just like George, but he's been here since middle school.

The bell finally rang and it was time for next class. Nick and Clay went to their computer class together, and Clay didn't see George not one time today. Even in the hallway, it's like he didn't exist and everyone was just making it up that he was even here.

Next class was boring for both Clay and George; George had chemistry and he's never actually enjoyed it. Clay didn't do much in computer class, except play games with Nick and talk about football. The day was going by so slow. The two boys both kept looking at the clocks in their classes, waiting for the class period to end.

Finally, lunch time.

"Oh, I invited George to sit with us at lunch if that's cool," Nick told Clay. Clay nodded and said that's completely fine. It's finally time to meet the new guy that everyone's been talking about. Clay was honestly excited.

They showed up to lunch and George still wasn't there. "He probably lost his way here to be honest," Nick turned to Clay. "George has like, no sense of direction whatsoever." Clay gave a light chuckle, still looking around for a British boy he's never even met.

And that's when he showed up. George sat right across from Nick. Clay's eyes met his, and Clay couldn't seem to look away. George was the prettiest boy he's ever seen.
