"The Story of Napigsa and Nasirib"

Once upon a time, two young men were stranded on the island of Agtintinnulong in which they named it.

They are two siblings and they are really the only two people there.

The two do not get along because they blame each other for why they went to that island.

They accidentally landed on the island because they were swept away by a giant wave as a result of bad weather.

Because of the giant wave, they could not control their boat until they crashed into rocks on their way to the island.

By the time they reached the island, their boat had broken down, so they had nothing to use to return into their place.

They both looked at their map but there was no image or name of this island.

So, they just named it Agtintinnulong Island because it is their last name and they were the first to go to this island.

Then they were surrounded by living stones.

Yes, living stone and anything scattered on the island.

Because of this, they ran to the Island and they were frightened until they found out that all the things there were kind creatures.

All they feared was that wild animals might be there.

Napigsa and Nasirib decided to settle on Agtintinnulong Island first.

Their first thought was that they make their home on the island.

But because they did not get along and reconciled, they decided to build their own house.

They lined the sand, meaning they had their own space.

Even the sand wondered at the line of his face.

Napigsa is on the other side and Nasirib is also on the other side.

The two of them talked about not crossing the line in the sand because they already had a gap.

They agreed with each other and none of them violated by crossing the line.

This is what they did because they could not get along.

Before they made their house, they first looked for something to eat because they had not yet had breakfast.

Napigsa searched the forest for food. But instead of searching, the banana tree gave him its fruit by dropping it.

Napigsa was happy because instead of looking or searching, it was the banana tree that gave it to him its fruits.

Napigsa was very thankful for the banana. As a result, his body became stronger again.

The banana tree was asked why they didn't seem to get along with Nasirib.

Napigsa said that it was out of the situation of the two of them so the banana tree did not interfered.

But, the banana told him that it could give its fruit again if he went there with it again.

Napigsa thanked again. Because of this, he became stronger and he was able to build his house.

On the other hand, Nasirib also looked for his food in the forest.

He saw the island rich in fruits and vegetables and also many tame animals.

As he was walking and observing the forest he was surprised by a species of bird.

He was surprised because he was given an abuyo or a wildchicken of its eggs.

Nasirib did not accept the eggs because he wanted it to multiply.

But Abuyo still gave its eggs to Nasirib, so he just accepted his eggs.

Abuyo said that its egg had no embryos given to him because those with embryos whose eggs were already in its nest.

Nasirib thanked Abuyo for giving away its egg.

Nasirib went out of the forest and went to the place where he would build his house.

When he got there, he saw his brother Napigsa starting to build his house.

While Napigsa was building his house, Nasirib first cooked a boiled egg given to him by Abuyo.

Nasirib took the pot from their damaged boat and then he filled the pot with salt water from the sea.

Then, Nasirib started making fire with the flint and steel he found from the Agtintinnulong forest.

He immediately made a fire with those two stones and he immediately set fire to the very dry wood he had also taken from the forest.

The dry woods were not afraid of being burned but they were even happy because they finally had a purpose as well.

At that time, he boiled the eggs and a few minutes later the water disappeared and turned into salt.

The eggs were cooked correctly.

He thought of taking the salts to season the egg.

Nasirib tasted and ate the eggs with salt and he was full.

But he felt that he was very thirsty so he thought of taking the fruit of the Makapuno Tree to drink its juice.

Because the Makapuno Trees are kind, they themselves give their fruit by dropping their fruit by wiggling.

Because of this, Nasirib is very grateful for their fruits.

He took his bolo from their broken boat and sliced the fruits.

After he cut to two, he saw its sparkling juice so he couldn't wait to drink it.

When he finished drinking the juice of the fruit of Makapuno, he was very refreshed.

Even his brain has been refreshed so he can start building his own house to live in at night using his intellect.

Nasirib has already started building his house.

On the other hand, Napigsa could not finish building his house because he did not plan what he was doing.

Yes, he is strong and does everything to lift all the big logs but no matter what he does, he will not be able to build his house if it is not planned.

He was strong but he did not know how to build his own house.

Therefore, Nasirib just laughed at him because Napigsa's wooden pole to build his house was wrong.

It's really wrong because Napigsa obviously doesn't know what he's doing to build his house.

Napigsa did not know how to plan to build his house and he just relied on his own strength.

So, even so, Napigsa continued to build his house but it is immediately collapsed.

As for Nasirib, he is already planning to build his own house.

Nasirib obviously knows how to plan a house because he is smart.

An hour later, he had already made a blueprint which he drew in the sand.

Nasirib's plan is that he will build a tree house and he will build it above of the Mango tree.

The only thing missing for him is to build it.

Due to the size of the tree house planned by Nasirib, he needed large wood or logs to build it.

So he took large wood or logs from the forest until he placed them near where he would build his house.

He started to climb by handling the big wood above the Mango tree but he could not do it because he was not strong enough to lift the big wood above.

Napigsa just laughed at him because he was trying so hard to climb the trees to the top of the tree by handling large woods.

Nasirib forced himself to lift the woods but he could not do so until he was exhausted.

Because of this, Nasirib only thought of building below the Mango tree but he thought that it was dangerous because he did not know if there were wild animals at night.

Time passed until near sunset, they failed to build their respective houses.

Therefore, the Mango tree suddenly warned them.

That if they can't build their house until nightfall they can be eaten by a dangerous animal and every night they just come out, it's the Leopards.

They are nocturnal and they spend their night hunting and in the morning they fall asleep.

Even though the two brothers heard, still, they did not work together and they still thought of building their house.

Until the time of dark night came.

To keep the brothers from getting not dark on the island, they took their lamps from their wrecked boat and continued on building their house.

The Leopards immediately barked frighteningly and immediately attacked Nasirib and Napigsa.

Because of this, they were both scared and they quickly climbed the Mango tree because they were so scared.

Because of what happened, the two siblings above the mango tree were terrified and trembling.

While the Leopards are just waiting below the Mango tree that is howling and seems to be furious like hungry.

The siblings did nothing and hugged in great fear.

They also left each other because they found out that they were young man.

The Mango Tree noticed that they could not build a house if they did not work together.

The Mango Tree thought that a young man was smart but he could not lift the trees up so he could not build his own tree house.

The other had the strength but he did not know how to plan to build his house so he could not build on his own.

That is why the Mango Tree has intervened with them.

"Young men, what if you two work together?"

"I can do it alone because I'm strong," said Napigsa.

"Me too, I can do it. I'm also smart," said Nasirib.

"Do you know each other?"

"We are brothers but right now we can't get along because of our conflict," said Nasirib.

"Right!" said Napigsa.

"What happened?"

"It's Napigsa's fault why I came here today because he called me to let us sail everywhere!"

"What, my fault?! It's your fault Nasirib because you wanted to. Besides, you agreed to explore animal species on the islands. It's okay with me even if you don't want to. But you agreed."

"You said it's safe. But not."

"It's just your fault, because you agreed. I didn't know it would happen. I didn't expect it."

"It's just your fault what's happening to us right now! What if our parents get mad at what's happening right now to us!"

"Wait! Just wait. Alas! That's all you're arguing about. That's enough, you two may be no fault of each other. You're Napigsa aren't you?"

"Yes."

"Is the boat yours?"

"Yes."

"You Napigsa, did you let your parents take that boat?"

"Yes, we said goodbye to our parents before we set foot here. So they knew and they couldn't scold us. But on the boat, yes," Napigsa said.

"Hmm, that's how it is. You can't be scolded because you can fix the boat again and there is a lot of wood here on the island. Besides, you really have no fault with each other and then you don't like what happened. What if you forgive each other, you're just blaming each other so you can't get along. "

"Hmm, let's go," Nasirib said.

"Hmm, okay," Napigsa said.

"Honestly brother, it's really true that the two of us quarreled at a small conflict."

"Yes, Nasirib. You're right. The Mango tree is really good here. If it weren't for it, we would still be fighting today."

"It's nothing. It's good that you're getting along."

That night the two siblings got along because of the conflict.

After that, the three of them talked until Napigsa and Nasirib fell asleep.

The next morning, the two brothers started working together to build a house at the top of a mango tree.

The Leopards at that time had returned to their burrow and slept.

So they had nothing to worry about at that time.

Nasirib used his intellect and Napigsa also used his strength to build a tree house.

The two worked together until the treehouse was completed according to Nasirib's plan in his blueprint.

Nor would it have been formed if Napigsa had not used his strength to lift up the large woods or logs and then tie the large woods or logs to build the tree house.

After many hours their treehouse was formed.

Because of their cooperation, they now have two possible accommodation at the top of the Mango tree.

The Mango tree, Makapuno trees and others were also happy with them because they finished the treehouse with cooperation.

After they finished the treehouse they also tried to fix their boat.

"Nasirib, what if we use the wood and our boat will speak?"

"Napigsa, don't you know those have been talking before?"

"What?!"

"You don't believe me before, Napigsa."

Napigsa was surprised because the wood of the boat were speak.

Then, they repaired their broken boat.

Thanks to their cooperation, their boat became well and its former vitality returned.

At noon the two siblings were very hungry but this did not become a problem for the two because they would give them their own food.

The two siblings thought that they did not want to go home anymore because it was so much fun to live here and food was no longer a problem.

But they have to go home tomorrow because their parents may be worried about them.

After many hours of sightseeing on that island, the two got tired again and then they were given more fruit trees that they could eat.

When it's night, they were no longer afraid of the Leopards because they already had a treehouse.

They lit a lamp inside the treehouse that would serve as a light.

It was the first time they lived in it as if it were in their house so they didn't miss it.

In the morning, they woke up nicely because they had a good night's sleep.

This morning they are going home.

Napigsa and Nasirib said goodbye to the island they named it as Agtintinnulong.

"Goodbye, to all of you. Thank you so much for all the food," Napigsa said.

"Goodbye! I'll miss you. I've discovered many species of animals on this island. As well as species of plants and trees too. Also, thank you so much for the snacks and food as well."

The same was said by all living and non-living creatures, whether asleep or not asleep creatures on the island.

But before they boarded, they were first given the Mango tree of its fruits as well as the Makapuno tree and Banana tree.

Abuyo or wild chicken also give its gift which is eggs for them.

Then they thanked them again until they started sailing towards their house.

When the two brothers glanced at the island again, it suddenly disappeared like a bubble.

When they got home, their parents were overjoyed because their missing children had returned.

They also apologized for their loss and their parents forgave them.

Then the two brothers talked about the strange island they had visited.

The two siblings didn't know that their parents had gone to that strange island earlier than they had.

That's why the wood in the boat also speak because their parents did the boat.

Their parent told the woods on the boat not to talk to them when there was someone including their child because they would panic.

But Nasirib had noticed this before and he told Napigsa but he didn't believe him.

Their parents also knew that the island would disappear when they left that island so it was not on their map and they did not even name it.

Their parents said that the island would disappear and then appear elsewhere.

But their children said that they had already named this island as Agtintinnulong island in which they took from their surname not only the surname of the two siblings but also because they are the only family that landed on that strange island.
