Both Eren and Reiner charged at each other. They both threw a punch but Eren dodged Reiner's one and punched him hard causing Reiner to fall back. In the meantime, while he was still falling, Reiner took back the Jaw Titan from Eren's hand. The fight didn't continue anymore since both the Titans were out of energy. Guess it's time to go back home i pushed on the ground with my foot hard enough to reach the airship. "Protect the airship from below! Use every last shot you've got!" i shouted to the team before we all retreated.
"Everyone, in! They've got nothing to take down an airship!" Jean shouted a while later after he came back. "You go too" he said looking at me. "It's alright, I'll stay" i said looking around. "You have to. Who knows when you'll be fired at" he said sternly. "I could say the same thing about you" i crossed my arms as i floated in air. "Jules.. you! Now's not the time to-" "Jules! Jean! You two go! I'll hold the rear!" Commander Lobov shouted coming towards us. "No. I can-" "It's all you, commander Lobov" Jean said before he wrapped one of his arms around my waist before pulling me up with him. "Mmmh!"
"I told you, I'm a recruit! Nobody needs the Garrison anymore! Especially not some overpaid geezer!" Commander shouted before he focused his attention on the surroundings. "You better come back and cook me your meat pie when we reach home, you geezer!" I shouted at him. "Of course!" he smiled at me one last time before turning his gaze. "You kids have become so disrespectful" i huffed looking at Jean. "Yeah, yeah. We learn from the best, mother" Jean hummed ignoring my antics.
"Who's left?" i asked as me and Jean got on the ship with the help of Sasha and Connie. "Still waiting on Lima Squad" Connie said. "As far as we know, there are 2 casualties" Sasha added. "I see.." i furrowed my eyebrows in frustration. "Shit" Jean mumbled from behind me. "That's nothing compared to the damage we did!" Floch said proudly walking towards us. "Floch, i believe i told you to keep the damage at minimum, right? Is there a reason why you didn't obey my orders?" i cocked my eyebrows. He flinched at my glare.
"But look at the bright side, Jules! It's a huge victory! The New Eldian Empire's first battle ends in victory!" he held my hands in excitement before raising his fist to punch the air. The other team members also cheered alongside him. I swated my hand away from him in fury. "Goddammit" i mumbled walking away from the group. "Tonight, we celebrate in honor of our two fallen heroes!" they all cheered loudly.
"First battle huh? How many more till the fighting ends? Just how many more have to die?" Jean muttered shutting his eyes. "Tell me about it" i sighed and sat on the floor. "Anyways, I'm just glad we survived again" we three, me, Sasha and Jean was suddenly engulfed in a hug "It's not fair to the others but, you guys are special.. to me" Connie said as he whispered close to us. His hands are trembling.. i thought as i put my hand on his arm. "Hng" me and Sasha responded with a smile. "It hurts.. you're wearing a hard gear" Jean said before moving away from the hug. He's embarrassed Sasha and i looked at each other before we bursted out into laughter watching Connie and Jean bicker. Ah.. if only time stopped i closed my eyes with a smile.
