John's dad doesn't exist here to avoid a plot point about "who's stronger" plus I need john to live in the dorms.
John never takes revenge physically but instead gets a different plan, for example, let's say someone is bullying him, instead of acting violently he goes ahead and runs to a place where a royal is nearby (most likely Remi cause of her beliefs) and then leaves while the royals handle it.
Arlo is a douche but later on, he will (slightly, very slightly) respect John.
Rei(Remi's brother) will survive but Remi will still try to get revenge on EMBER.
Adrion has a dorm, but will usually be in John's dorm just to annoy him.
Claire and Adrion are dating.
