She started walking back into the black towering building and instead of staying out here like I did last time I followed her in.
"Nylah!" I called out to her.
"What! What do you want Loki?" She turned back to look at me.
"Come on shouldn't we strategize or something?" I sigh.
"Strategize?" She scoffed.
"He did just declare war on us" I explain chuckling.
"What us Loki? There is no us, there is me who has to deal with your mess" she starts walking up spiraling stairs and I continue to follow after her.
"You know we're more powerful together" I smirk.
"I don't need you Loki" she sighs.
"Just admit you could use my help" we reached the end of the stairs and started walking through hallways.
Two servants pulled double doors open and we walked into what I assumed was her room as the people shut the doors.
"Give me one reason I shouldn't kill you right now" she turns around finally looking at me.
"Because I saved your life" I scoffed.
"Mhm, why did you?" She crossed her arms.
"Hm?"
"Why'd you save me" she elaborates.
"Because I want your help" I play it off.
"That's the only reason?" she raises her eyebrows.
She takes steps closer to me and suddenly she was so close I could here her breathing.
"Yep" I stated sounding a little less confident then I intended.
"You don't like me, do you?" She laughs putting her hand on my chest.
"Why would you even say that" I laugh nervously.
"Because your heartbeat is increasing" she whispers.
She snakes her hand around my neck and pulls me in, her mouth dangerously close to my neck.
"I don't like you Nylah" I whisper.
"Good, cause that would be amazingly stupid of you Loki" she says, backing up again.
"Why did you give him the scepter, you could've just let him kill me, why didn't you?" She questions.
"Like I've already said, you're a good person to keep around" I say, all emotion in my voice fading.
"Stop with the bullshit" she laughs.
"Ok, if you're so sure it's not that then what do you think it is?" I yell in frustration.
"I don't know Loki, but I can tell you're lying" her jaw clenches.
"Fine! You want the truth? I wanted to be the one to kill you!" I scream hoping she'd be better with that than digging deeper.
To be completely honest I don't know why I sacrificed the scepter to save her. All I know is I don't want her to die, gods knows why.
"You think you can kill me?" She laughs.
"My gods Nylah can you focus at the much bigger problem" I pinch the bridge of my nose.
"What bigger problem are you taking about?"
"The fact that the leader of the dark elves just declared war on both of us!" I scream, mad that she's not putting that together.
"What Loki, scared of a little battle" she chuckles.
"No, but I think we should come up with a plan"
"The plan is, Malekith comes back and I chop his head off" she shrugs like it was so simple.
"Let's not forget he had a sword to your neck" I point out.
"I was distracted" she scoffs.
"Did I distract you?" I smirk.
"Get your head out of your ass Loki for fucks sake" she bawls her fists.
My smile slowly fades but is only replaced with a cocky look.
"I'll let you live" she sighs like it's such an inconvenience.
"You couldn't kill me anyway" I laugh.
"Why cause you think I care?"
"No because I'm stronger than you think, it wouldn't be that easy" I defend.
"We're going in circles here".
"That we are" I agree.
"What will it take for you to leave and never come back?" She asks.
"You help me with my Malekith problem"
"Sure, I was already going to kill the bastard" she shrugs.
"Ah ah ah, there's more" I interrupt her.
"What is it?" She sighs.
"I get to stay here, and we fight him together" I state my demands.
"Why is it so important that we do this together Loki?" She asks.
"Can't have you taking all the credit, can I?" I smile at her.
She almost smiles but forms her lips into a straight line to hide it.
"Fine, is that it?"
"That's it, after that you never have to see me again" I reassure.
"You know you've said that before" she points out.
"I mean if this time"
"What makes this so different from last time?" She questions.
"Well last time, you weren't such a huge bitch" I laugh.
"I tried to kill you at least 3 times and you think I'm bitchier now?" She laughs.
"Well after your homicidal attempts I got to fuck you, so I guess I didn't have much of a problem with it" I joke.
"Asshole" she laughs even more.
"Bitch" I reply.
We both stood there laughing and I finally saw a genuine smile on her face. Has her smile always been so pretty or am I just now noticing it?
After a minute there was an awkward silence and we both just stood still looking at each other.
"I like the new look" I say, trying to get rid of the weird moment between us.
"Yeah?"
"Yeah" I say
Well so much for my effort because it was still silent and uncomfortable.
"Ok well there's a room down the hall you can um stay in there, you know until this whole Malekith thing is over" she clears her throat.
"Ok, thank you" I give a half smile before leaving the room.
It was easier to talk to her when I had her locked in a cell rather than now.
