'EFFORTS ARE BETTER THAN WORDS.'

┊͙˚. Day / Thursday — Time / 4 : 45 pm (In Russia)

"Hmm?~ is that so?" [Y/N] nodded, hugging her knees as she sat down on the steps, gazing at the ocean in front of her and her cousin.

[C/N] glanced at their younger cousin before back at the continuous waves. A sigh leaving their lips, breaking the silence.

"I called it." [Y/N]'s eyes widened in shock, did she look that uneasy living here in Russia? She thought.

It's been two months since she moved to the current country and sad to say that she still feels like an alien.

She breathed out a chuckle, "Was it that obvious?" She asked. "Mhm." [C/N] nodded, a smile climbing up their lips.

"When are you planning to tell your mother?" The older [L/N] queried. She stiffened at the thought, "I don't know. I'm afraid to do so."

She couldn't help it. Every time she walked up to her mother regarding that matter, her heart starts pounding immensely and her body starts to shake, to the point [C/N] mistook her for having a panic attack.

"Why?"
"What if she gets mad?" [C/N] rose a brow, "What if she gets mad?" They repeated shrugging.

"[Y/N] you turned eighteen a week ago, your friends got together and had a video call party with you to celebrate it. Plus, you're an adult now. You need to be independent." [C/N] spoke in a serious manner.

"Your mother is happy here, but are you? By the looks of it, you're not. Your true happiness is not here, it's in Japan." They added, gazing down at the sitting female.

"If your mother won't take you there, I will." A soft gasp left her lips, she inclined her head upwards to look at her cousin.

"Re-Really?"
"Yes really."[C/N] nodded, sitting down beside the younger one. "I've seen your friends. They miss you, a lot. I can't say the same, ever since I left Japan.. none of my friends talked to me, because according to them—leaving Japan is like leaving our friendship?— if that made sense."

[Y/N] gazed at her cousin with sadness in her eyes, "I-I'm sorry about that-" "I'm not important now. You are."

[C/N] rotated their body to face [Y/N], a warm smile on their lips. "If you can't talk to your mother about it, I can do it with you." They placed their hand on their chest.

"Even if your mother disagrees, I'll take you there. You're a legal adult now. Remember that, okay?" [Y/N] smiled at her cousin's words.

"Understood." She wrapped her arms around their body, embracing them as a gratitude. [C/N] hugged her in return, patting her back.

"I'll talk to her today." [C/N]'s smile grew, "I'll be there to help you."

"What!?" Her mother shrieked in shock, startled by her daughter's words. [C/N] stood beside [Y/N], rubbing her shoulders for comfort.

"What do you mean you're going back to Japan!?" [M/N] repeated her daughter's statement in a confused tone.

[Y/N] shakily inhaled before restating her words, "I'm going back to Japan after New Years." The [L/N] cousins chose to leave after New Years, thinking it was the best decision to avoid large crowds of people.

"Yo-You can't!" Her mother stuttered, still surprised by the sudden announcement. [Y/N] glanced at her older cousin, who gave her a nod in return.

She took a deep breath before starting, "I actually can. I became a legal adult and I'm allowed to make my own decisions."

"I realized that I'm not happy with the idea of living in Russia for the rest of my life, Japan is a better choice." [Y/N] voice became shaky at the end, allowing [C/N] to pat her back for comfort.

[M/N] clenched her fist, she has wrath filling her up after realizing how equitable her daughter's words were.

"Fine. Do whatever you want!" With that, her mother bursted out of the kitchen.

[C/N] was startled by the breath [Y/N] let out that she herself didn't know was holding in. They side hugged her, "Don't worry, you did the right thing for yourself."

[Y/N] hummed, allowing a small smile to curl up her lips. "You're right.." she hugged them back.

"Great! It's nice talking to you [Y/N], goodbye!" The advisor hung up the phone call with the 17-year old as he walked up to the gymnasium.

'[Y/N] is coming back and I'm sure the boys will be thrilled!' Takeda thought, his smile brightening up. "Hello!"

He greeted after entering the gym, "Hello!" The boys replied before going back to practice. Takeda stalked towards the coach, silently and carefully.

"EK- what the heck!?" Coach ukai whisper-yelled after his mini yelp. "I apologize for abruptly scaring you, but I have something important to say."

Coach ukai rose a brow, "Should tell the boys to huddle up here or..?" The advisor immediately shook his head in denial.

"No. Absolutely not. The boys should not be aware of this." Takeda rapidly spoke, confusing the male. "Okay what's going on, advisor?"

Takeda pushed his glasses upwards, a smile curling up on his face. "[Y/N] is coming back."

The blonde male almost choked on his saliva by the sudden announcement. "Really? How? When? Didn't she say she'll be living there?"

Takeda sighed before explaining, "[Y/N]'s happiness in Russia isn't identical to the one in Japan. The only happiness she felt there was when she watched boys play volleyball, making her remember the boys here. So she talked to her mother yesterday and.. she didn't handle it well, but her cousin is old enough to drive her to the airport after New Years. She'll be staying at her old house."

Coach ukai nodded at his words, "Is she coming before nationals?" Takeda scratched the back of his head at his question.

"That.. she didn't talk about." The dark haired male shrugged.

A smile climbed up ukai's lips as he gazed back at the boys who played.

"Tanaka nice kill!!"

"YOSHAA!!!!"

Soon that smile turned into a smirk. "I wonder how the boys would react."
