<Nightmares POV>
"You've gotten good, its been a while Night." A familliar voice says from behind me.
I instinstinctivly push Niki and Punz behind me putting my hand on the knife on my belt.
"Step out of the shaddows!" I say coldly but firmly into the dark corner.
James stepps out of the shaddows with his hands up and a cocky smirk on his lips, "You know after all this time i would have thought Dream would be first back here, looks like I was wrong. I wasnt wrong about your ability though you are good, your father would be proud. Been practicing?" I lower my gard slightly James is ok he doent sound like he going hurt us, but that doesnt mean im letting my gard down completely.
"Yeah I've been sparing with Dream. What is it to you, you here to try and get me back into that life because eventhough I apreciate everything you have done for me over the years im not coming back." I say slightly less coldly than before.
"I wasnt expecting you to you made it very clear your decision very clear the last time, infact i still have the scar." He laughs, "I'm not here to hurt you Night i was actually coming here to give you something your father wanted you to have. He always said that if he died on a mission then you should have something he made for you. He left something for Dream too but i dropped that rould your house earlier, the thing for you is here though hidden."
"You dont want to hurt us?" i ask relaxing.
"No, never you are like a daughter to me i could never."
I smile at that normaly people disslike me at sight and then even more when they get to know me so to be told that by him made me happy, and I walways looked up to James between him and Dad they brought me up and taught me everything I know.
I act before I even think running up to James pulling him into a hug and wispering thank you to him.
I pull away, "So um we aren't gunna die?" Punz askes to no one in particular.
"No you aren't," I laugh, "James isnt going to kill you dont worry."
"Thank god id rather not die today." Niki says in a small voice hiding behind Punz slightly.
"Anyway I'll leave you guys now but you remeber the vault that i never let you go into well what you are looking for is in there, with also some sweets that you three can share," he laughs, "I'm not joking like I put them there yesterday to keep them hidden from one of the other members but you guys can have them. The code for the safe is ********* open it and the thing is in a red box. I will probably see you again but it may not be for a while, I hope you all have a good night," He says shaking Punz's hand and hugging Niki, "Oh, last thing you three are really cute together have a good rest of your day." He finishes.
He waves a goodbye and walks out the door leaving us stood there shocked.
"What?" Niki asked after several moments of silence.
"I don't know maybe he heard us flirting or something, how long was he there?" Punz asks shouting the last bit.
"Sweetie calm its fine he wont tell anyone and if he does well ill break his neck." i say in a loving voice contradicting the threat I just made.
"I love how you make threats and sound so sweet." Niki giggles.
"Ok so where is this safe becasue ive been promised sweets." Punz asks causing me and Niki to start laughing.
I grab both of their hands pulling them towards a corner by the table i let go of their hands mementairly to pull up one of the flooring slabs reveling a secure looking safe. I enter in the pin opening up the door its gotta be 6 inches thick, the safe contains a red box and a bag of harribos. Its a tight fit for the box it looks as though the safe was made for the box.
I hand Niki and Punz the sweets before pulling out the box and setting it down on the floor. The box was about 5 foot long and really thin my imediate gess was something along the lines of a sword maybe a longblade like a Samurai sword style.
"Open it, open it!" Niki says practically bouncing up and sown with exitement.
I'm so nervous, I reach out feeling the engravings and indents on its surface. The box itself was black with intricate designs in red; there were flowers, leaves, vines and dragons spirling arond the box coverig it like some old story all conected and unique. I open the catches keeping it shut lifting the lid to reveal a beautiful, sleek, black reaper blade staff, there were two baled on either end that looked to be made out of a strong metal most likely steel but it could be some Aluminium alloy as it was really light.
I pick it up carefully weighing it up in my hands, its a beautiful weapon and i cant wait to learn how to use it. I didnt notice a tear rolling down my cheek untill Niki wiped it away giving me a quick kiss and pulling me into a hug.
"Baby dont cry we are here with you," she says into my ear pullimg me closer as Punz wraps his arms around the both of us, "I can only imigine how much this present means to you its from your dad and it shows that he was thinking of your future and knew you would go far even all those years ago. I just know he is up there somewhere even if you dont believe in all that but he is watching ypu keeping an eye on you and he would be so proud of you like me and Punz are."
"She's right honey we are both so proud of you, you've opened up so much over the past few months, you've groen so much as a perosn and you never cece to amaze me." Punz says placing a soft kiss on my cheek as he said the last couple words.
"I don't deserve you two you're both too perfect and I'm so happy that you chose me to give your affection to. So thank you I really appreciate you both." I say wiping away a few stray tears.
"Come on we should probably get going back to my house as its getting late." Punz says offering a hand to pull us up.
I nod in agreemet placing the staff back in the box and picking it upbefore taking Punz's outsreched hand to get up.
We walk together towards the door hand-in-hand in a comfortable silence, when Niki breks the silence just before we get out the door.
"Um as today is kind of a day where we are getting something off our chests like things we want to say, I have something I want to tell you two." She says nervously.
"What is it Niki?" I ask giving her a soft smile.
"I just wanted to tell you something but I realise it may be too early and you don't have to say it back, but i just wanted to let you know that I love you. I love both of you with everything I have and I want to make you as happy as I can for as long as you'll let me." she says looking downat the floor nervoulsy.
There is a few seconds of silence that followed Nikis proclemation of love where me and Punz try to process what she hsa just said. But we accidentally leave the silence for too long so I break it.
I tilt Nikis head up to look at me before placing a soft Kiss on her forehead, "I love you too Niki." I say lips still against her forehead. I then turn to Punz and kiss his cheek, "I love you too Punz." I say against his cheek.
He returns the kiss on my cheek, "I love you too Night." He then turning to Niki placing a kiss on her cheek wispering the same sweet words, "I love you too Niki."
I held out my arns for a hug which Niki crashed into almost knocking me over but luckikly Punz caught pus wrapping his arms around us. We stayed in that embrace for a couple of minuets all smiling like goofballs who were high on something, that something was eachother.
We eventually broke appart and walked back to Punz's car where I drove us home.
The evening was bliss, we messed around making tea me and Niki teasing Punz who would pick us up from behind and spin us around causing us to scream. It was alot of fun but dinner took longer than expected to make, we ate sat on the sofa watching an old si-fi comedy show called red-dwarf ( my favourite show ) Niki evetually fell asleep on my lap where she had layed sinec she finished her food.
I hated waking her up as she looked so cute sleeping, but she needed to get ready to go to sleep. We all got ready for bed Niki wears an oversized pastel blue hoodie that had "anti-social social club" writen on it and a pair of black shorts unerneath, Punz had a pair of black joggers and a fitted t shirt on whilst I had a black spagehetti strap cropped top on and black joggers.
Niki lay under the covers waiting for me and Punz to join her, I finish brushing my hair and make my way over to the bed to join her. I plug in my phone to charge placing it on the bed-side table giggling at the little grabby hands she is doing towards me.
"Aw someone wants cuddles." I giggle climbing into bed with her wraping my arms around her, as she cuddes into my chest.
"I love your cuddles." she says.
I let out a small chuckle in responce kissing her her hair.
"Aw no fair without me." Punz says sadly waling in from the bathroom.
"We were waitng but now you're here we get more cuddles." I giggle.
Punz smiles softly admiring me cradling a almost asleep Niki, before deciding to join us.
"Good night Night, love you. Good night Niki love you." He says getting ino bed on the otherside of Niki spooning her and wraping his arma round her and over mine. He places two kissed one in Nikis hair and one on my forehead before settling down to sleep.
I wisper a "Good night" and an "I love you" to them both before drifting off into a pleasent sleep.
