Chapter 10
I'm inside the busy studio watching everyone do their jobs—some might say that I'm enjoying the view dahil kung saan ako lumingon, it's like a buffet here. Male models and celebrities only on their underwear while the female ladies and celebrities are on their brassiere and underwear. They are campaigning an underwear brand so it's valid to see them walking around almost naked.
Nasa tabi ko lamang ang kit bag ko kung nasaan nakasilid ang mga kakailanganin ni BJH if he asked for it. Bottle of water, gums, towel, medicines, and banana milk which his comfort drink aside from energy drink. Chini even slide some condom in it kasi hindi raw namin masisigurado kung kailan din kakailanganin ni BJH 'yon.
And thinking of Chini, she's still not around and I couldn't reach out thru call kaya hindi ko alam kung saan siya nagpunta ngayon. Wala naman akong ginagawa at nag-aabang lamang ng mga ganap sa paligid.
Jin-Hyeong, Dong-Yoon, and Cashel Corprew are one of the main subjects of this campaign. They are all very good-looking. They possess their own charisma which people perceived from them. Dong-Yoon's give so much masculinity, Cashel's gentle-looking, and BJH's timid expression which highly like him. They all give different auras, and the way they communicate defines them more.
"So, ano nang ganap?" I startled when Chini suddenly popped out beside me. Salubong ang kilay kong tiningnan siya at natuon ang atensyon ko sa chikinini sa gilid ng leeg niya—it's pale, but enough to be visible. Hindi ko naman siya kinuwestiyon do'n. Baka pasa lang? "Hoy?!" She nudged me on my side making me get back to my consciousness.
"Nasobrahan ka na sa siguro sa mga naka-brief na lalaking 'to, lumilipad na ata sa heaven 'yang utak mo," pamumuna pa nito sa akin. Hindi man lang niya sinabi sa akin kung saan siya nanggaling at nagpunta.
Habang sinasabi ko naman sa kanya ang nangyari, dahan-dahang lumipat ang atensyon niya sa isang lalaking nasa six-foot tall ang tangkad at ito'y isang local din. I think he's in his thirties, but he looks so young with his stance and posture. And he seemed to have lipstick all over his mouth and he wasn't able to wipe it properly and it looked like Chini's lipstick shade.
Patuloy lang ako sa pagsasalita at kinu-kwento sa kanya 'yong mga naganap habang ang atensyon niya ay nasa lalaking 'yon. Napakunot ang noo nang magtama ang tingin nila at kumindat itong lalaki. She eyed him taking her attention back to me catching her at the exact moment. I squinted my eyes as if I'm already judging her with it, but she didn't mind.
"Good to know that there hasn't been a problem," she said, felt relieved. Feeling ko umiiwas siya tumingin sa akin since I caught her looking at that man.
"Sino 'yon?" pag-usisa ko.
She looked at me, raising a brow. "Sinong sino 'yon?" balik na tanong nito sa akin. "Maraming tao ngayon dito sa studio, Jelay. I wouldn't get to know everyone else."
I scrunched my eyes. "It doesn't look like you didn't know him..." Pagturo ko sa lalaking nakatinginan niya kanina.
She heaved out a sigh. "That's Park Seung-Gi... he's a brand manager and he's the one who also coordinated with the brand to make it happen as well. He's just... pretty gorgeous, right? I mean... it's a good thing, his project would be resulting in a pretty successful campaign.
"I see..." Tango-tango ko pa sa kanya. "Pero bakit hindi mo sinasagot 'yong tawag ko kanina?"
"Oh, shit!" Kinapa niya ang bulsa niya at hinanap niya sa bag niya ang phone ko niya. Naging aligaga naman ito dahil hindi niya makita. "Ah!" she gasped as if para bang naatauhan siya nang maalala niya kung saan niya naiwan iyon. "Excuse me," pagpapaalam nito at saka lumapit ito sa direksyon ni Park Seung-Gi.
Hinarap naman ni Seung-Gi si Chini at natawa pa ito nang may sinabi si Chini. He then scoop out something from his pocket and then he's holding Chini's phone. Agad namang hinablot iyon ni Chini saka niya hinatak palabas ng studio si PSG. Minatahan niya lang ako kaya hindi na ako kumibo at nanatili na lang din naman ako sa kinauupuan ko.
Everyone is at their best pose, aura, and they all flaunt their fit body. Even the ladies have abs which I really admired dahil tamad na tamad din akong mag-exercise which I felt very time consuming kasi sa umpisa ko lang naman ginagawa at hindi na nasusundan pa. Parang binubog ang katawan ko tuwing gigising ako sa umaga after my exercise from the other day. But I might do it if I aspire to get that body again at baka maging model pa ako in no time.
When the management announced that they could have a break for fifteen minutes, most of them spends their time on their phone and then taking some selfies para pang tease sa kani-kanilang mga followers. Some talked to the others and they just took pictures with each other. Feeling ko 'yong iba r'yan ay nagpa-plastikan na lang din. Lalapitan ko sana si BJH para asikasuhin nang biglang lumapit sa kanya si Dong-Yoon na may hawak na phone at nag-usap silang dalawa.
Kahit walang gana ay pinansin pa rin ni BJH si Dong-Yoon kaya naman bumalik ako sa pwesto ko kanina. I was about to give him some gum o kung ano man ang kailangan niya, but it seems like he's occupied right now. Hawak ko rin naman ang phone niya so all of his stuff ay nasa akin din.
"Hey..." Napatingin naman ako sa nagsalita sa tabi ko. Si Cashel iyon at mukhang may hinahanap siya. "Have you seen my bottle of water here?" tanong nito sa akin.
Umiling naman ako. "No, I'm sorry, I haven't. Do you need something to drink because I can give you some?"
"Sure, if you have, please," he said.
Agad ko namang kinuha ang bottle of water sa kit bag ko at inabot ko sa kanya 'yon. He then accepted it, opened the cap, and immediately drink the water. Nakatingin lamang ako sa kanya habang umiiinom at napapatitig pa ako sa adams apple niyang taas-baba sa tuloy-tuloy na pag-inom niya ng tubig. He felt so relieved when he drinks all of it.
"Thanks for that," he said, smiling. "I was so thirsty this whole time."
"No worries, Cashel." Ngiti ko pa. "Correct me if I'm wrong, half-pinoy ka, 'di ba?"
His face lit up. "Oh! So, you're Filipina?" tanong nito sa akin na agad ko naman tinanguan. "That's so great! I thought you're a local here as well. You look like a Korean though..." He chuckled. "Anyway, I've been noticing you kept looking at me earlier? Do you want to take some pictures with me?"
Nanlaki naman ang mata ko sa tanong niya. "Pwede ba?"
He smirked, nodding his head. "Of course! Let's just make it quick so they wouldn't catch us." Agad ko namang kinuha ang phone ko at kinuha iyon ni Cashel so he'll be the one who's going to take the picture for us. He did a few shots and then handed it back to me. "Sorry, I wasn't able to speak Tagalog so much with you... I only know a little, but Cosette teaches me so well so I'm trying my best."
"Oh! Cosette? You're with her?"
He scratched the side of his head, slightly embarrassed. "Uh... yeah. She's in the Philippines as of this moment and I'll be heading there as soon as I finished everything here in South Korea. I've missed her birthday last December 4th so I'm making it up to her now. What are you here for?"
"Oh... I'm Baek Jin-Hyeong's personal assistant."
He nodded his head. "Oh... yeah, I see. He just came back from the military, right?" Tumango naman ako sa kanya at may itatanong pa sana ito sa akin pero naagaw naman ang atensyon namin nang makita naming tinulak ni Dong-Yoon si BJH sa dibdib dahilan para mapaatras ito.
Pupuntahan ko sana si BJH para awatin pero hinawakan ako ni Cashel at pinigilang pumunta ro'n.
"Alaga ko 'yon..." aniko
Ang sunod na lamang na nangyari ay biglang binawian ni BJH ng suntok itong si Dong-Yoon dahilan para mabitawan ang phone at lugapak ito sa sahig at muntik pang mawalan ng balanse sa lakas ng pagkakasuntok ni BJH. Jin-Hyeong's jaw clenched together with his fist. Hindi lang do'n natapos ang ganap dahil biglang gumanti si Dong-Yoon at tumama ang kamao nito sa ilong ni Jin-Hyeong dahilan para mapabagsak ito sa sahig at magdugo ang ilong. It caught everyone's attention and people are just watching—some even have the nerve to record the fight.
I shoved Cashel's hand off of me so I can attend BJH there and help him stand up and sit on the chair. Naghuhumakahos namang pumasok pabalik ng studio si Chini at dinaluhan kaagad si BJH at bakas ang pag-aalala nito sa kanyang mukha. NIlingon ko naman si Dong-Yoon at inilayo na siya ng security sa amin at inanunsyo naman ni PSG na 'wag alalahanin ang nangyari at bumalik na lamang sa kani-kanilang mga ginawa.
"Give him the bottle of water," utos ni Chini sa akin. Nagmadali naman akong kunin iyon sa kit bag ko pero bigla kong naalala na binigay ko pala kay Cashel kanina kaya ang banana milk na lang ang inabot ko. "Ano 'to? Tubig, 'di ba?"
"Naibigay ko kasi kay Cashel kanina..." Ngiwi ko pa.
"Hay, naku, Jelay," banas nitong tugon sa akin at umalis para kumuha ng tubig. Pagbalik din nito ay may kasama na itong medical staff at chineck si BJH at mukhang wala naman itong ibang problema bukod sa nosebleed kaya naman binigyan lang ito ng yelo at inilapat sa kanyang ilong. "Mag-uusap tayong lahat mamaya," ani Chini.
Napabuntonghininga na lang din naman ako.
"Don't put Raijine in this. She has nothing to do with this. It was Dong-Yoon's fault. He keeps saying a lot of things and it got into my head and that's how it turned out. It's my fault, not her," pagpapaliwanag pa nito.
Chini grunted, rolling her eyes. She knew that what happened was so stupid and somehow it's my negligence that made that trouble happen. Hindi ko naman maialis sa isipan ko 'yon. He knew that it's not my fault, but I also didn't do anything to stop them. Hindi ko naman trabaho ang maging referee, but I have to look after him and I failed to do that. Pakiramdam ko... sobrang laki ng pagkakamali ko ro'n.
BJH take a rest for a while as everyone went back shooting.
"Can I have the banana milk?" he asked. Naiwan kaming dalawa sa gilid. Kinuha ko naman iyon at nilagay ko na ang straw so he can just sip it. "Thanks..." he said and started drinking his comfort drink. "Don't mind Chini. I'll handle her later."
I let out a deep breath. "I hope so..."
He just patted my shoulder as if that should make me feel fine. When he feels better and had to go back with the others, he left me so he could participate in the shooting once again. Hindi na sila ipinagsama ni BJH at Dong-Yoon. Minabuti na lang nilang ihiwalay sila dahil baka mag-ugat muli iyon ng away. I just watched him intently so Chini wouldn't be mad at me. May kausap ulit siya ngayon and I think she's discussing it around with the management.
I just felt so bad that it had to go through this situation and people had to see that. The shooting ended just around six in the evening and some of the models and celebrities invited each other to have some dinner and BJH had to go with them as well. Dahil personal assistant niya ako, I had to be with him—but then Chini won't let go out with them kaya ang ending ay lahat kami ay pabalik na ng condo kasama ang nag-aalab sa inis na manager.
Napahugot na lamang muli ako ng malalim na hininga dahil ramdam na ramdam ko ang tensyon sa loob ng sasakyan. Pakiramdam ko ay nanganganib ang trabaho ko ngayon. Sana nga hindi ako mapauwi sa Pinas dahil gagawin ko pa rin ang best ko na hindi na maulit 'yon.
Kababalik ko pa nga lang dito sa SoKor, binungaran na kaagad ako ng ganitong sitwasyon... at may takas ba ako? Wala... but I'm here to face whatever the consequences are.
