"Y/n wake up"
"Heh" your eyes fluttered open as you turned around to be faced with shirou
You roughly whipped yourself back around "ugh leave me alone it's too early for your nagging" you said trying to fight off the morning voice so you could form actual words
"It's 3:00 in the afternoon y/n get up" he said ripping the blankets from you
You groaned and sat up hunched over on the bed you looked up at shirou with your half lidded eyes and tear stained cheeks he seemed to notice your cheeks
"Was last night ok" he asked
You rubbed your eyes like a toddler and looked around the room on his desk your headphones and phone were there
You could've swore you fell asleep with them
"Yea it was fine thanks" you said standing up with the help of shirous shoulder
You walked downstairs shirou followed close behind as you approached the clanking of junk they were pulling out of a storage closet but it was a bit bigger than a closet you walked over to the closet now almost fully awake
You peeked inside there was a bunch of cool stuff like mask and and old pictures of beastman
"Hey Melissa if it's ok I wanna keep some of these things I think there really cool" you said holding up one of the mask to your face
"Oh that's fine dear we were gonna throw it all out anyways"
you wandered inside digging through the piles of junk shirou was no longer following you he was already out of the door that was a shame you wanted to show him all the cool stuff you found
~~30 min later
You were sweating like crazy, although it was inside it was so hot
You dug deeper into the small closet after looking around you found three boxes all labeled drums in messy writing
"Hey Melissa do you know what's actually in these boxes" you said carrying them out of the closet
"Oh those are gems old drums when we were younger he was crazy about starting a little band with his friends
"Oh is it okay if I set them up I hope you don't mind the noise" you said with a tired smile
"Oh I don't mind at all dear I would love to hear you play and I'm sure gem would too he'd love to hear that old set play again"
You nodded with a smile carrying the old set upstairs along with the box filled with the stuff you wanted to keep including some old clothes you could try on when you got upstairs you pulled out all the parts of the drum and began piece of them together

You were already almost done putting the set together twisting in the last of the screws you had your hair some kind of pulled back it was mostly just a clump of hair in a hair tie with you bangs still hanging down
You looked through the box of stuff you collected pulling out a couple of outfits
You put the other two outfits away going into shirous room and changing
It was a little big but you liked it that way it looked cooler you snickered to yourself before you left
you grabbed your phone and headphones planning to play the song you were playing on your phone as a guide you sat at the drum seat and plugged the headphones into your ears

You waited for the first part with a sudden adrenaline rush excitement seethed through your bones
As you hit that first note the house boomed with the sound of the drums
Each tap of the drum stick on the drums sent a shiver up your spine
Until it finally hit that point we're you could go off on the drums
You whispered the lyrics under your breath you couldn't help yourself
you hit each passionate note perfectly each time only a few slip ups
Once you were done you were sweating a lot more than before your hair was now all down and in your face you were breathing heavily
You got down from the seat and sloppily hummed the words while tapping the air with the sticks
You shook your head to get the hair out of your face and that's when you noticed shirou at the top of the stairs he was leaning on the railing
You jumped back a little in shock but let out a heavy sigh soon after
"Since when did you play the drums"
"Why? did you like it you seemed to be enjoying watching me play" you teased spinning and maneuvering the stick around each of your fingers
"I..I was just wandering when you learned to play that's all" he stated with a light blush forming
"Well hm it was about 7 years ago my foster dad taught me but I only stayed there for a year until the barons figured out were I was so I left the foster family a note and ran away and then-
"Barons?"
"Oh it's like this mafia group with shitty workers who are dedicated to catching me the moment they found out I existed"
"You could of told me this before I let you roam around alone that day"
"Well I'm fine now" you said with a bit of attitude
"Still it's my job to protect yo-
"I'm not a little kid! I'm tired of you treating me like one!" you exclaimed slamming the sticks on the drum
Shirou sat there with the same expression but once you realized what you did you covered your mouth "I-I'm sorry" your voice cracked with anger
You weren't angry at shirou though you were angry at yourself you turned around and ran into the room slamming the door
"Y/n I-"
Melissa came trotting up the stairs with some fruit on a plate
"I've got some snacks for you dears o-oh" she heard the door slam
Shirou took the plate and gave Melissa a sad smile "thank you Melissa" he said walking over to the room and knocking
"Y/n...it's ok you didn't hurt my feelings"
"..."
"Hello? Y/n" he opened the door and your weren't there but the window was open and the book and your phone were gone
"Dammit!"..
