"Jennie! Over here!" Jisoo says, raising and waving her hand to grab Jennie's attention who just came out from an alley heading in and out of the backstage.
All officers and staffs are already in their respective positions because the program is about to start in less than 20 minutes.
Jennie did a quick check to every individual in the dance crew to see if they needed adjustments — she was kind of late because of one particular reason so instead of 5 o'clock call time, she arrived an hour late.
"That's one quick run you just did from the parking lot to the backstage earlier." Chaeyoung says, Jennie sits in between her and Jisoo.
Jennie takes one deep breath to relax herself before finally speaking. "Well, I was late so had to hurry up. Good thing everything is all set and ready from the program then to the dance crew."
"I think I saw one of your major professors in the backstage earlier." Chaeyoung says.
"Ah, Miss Tiffany? Yes, she's still there so the crew is in good hands."
Jisoo looks around as if trying to locate somebody before the lights are switched to dim mode. "Where is he?"
"He?"
"Oppa? Didn't you guys arrive together?"
Jennie hums. "Ah yes, he's in the alumni area."
"Oh."
Jennie's eyes travelaround to look for the dark haired woman whom she was not able to find in the backstage. She purposefully stayed there for almost 20 minutes just in case Lisa was in one of the private dressing rooms but Joohyun called for assistance so she couldn't stay longer.
Jongin was there though, busy getting his attire adjusted like the others. She wanted to ask him but he was too occupied with everything that was going on around him and he was also wearing his earphones.
"Did you see Lisa earlier?" She asks to the other two.
Jisoo frowns while letting her eyes slowly go left and right, a habit of hers when she's trying to remember something. "No. Which reminds me that I did not see her earlier, at all. How about you, Chaeng?"
Chaeyoung nods. "I did but just for a short time though. Seulgi dragged her somewhere, probably getting their fits adjusted more privately. Let me tell you.." Chaeyoung leans her upper body closer to them. ".. her attire is very very sexy. Like hot damn sexy."
Jisoo blinks for a second before laughing. "Someone is simping!"
Chaeyoung groans. "Hey! I am not! I was just saying, you'll see later."
"You're clearly simping!"
"I'm not!"
"About to."
"No!"
With the duo bickering in her background, Jennie's body heat suddenly fluctuates and so is the beating of her heart. Weirdly enough, it made her feel super intrigued and excited.
Joohyun sit right beside Chaeyoung this time because the program is now about to officially start. The three emcees — two females and one male, they're three of their senior officers but positions lower than Joohyun and Jennie of course — all went in the middle of the stage and the entire gymnasium uproars with cheers, whistles and claps.
The program started by the Chancellor who then welcomed every single person in the gym including the alumni and the faculty of teachers before officially starting the night.
To start the series of performances, the university's choir took the stage and followed by university's acoustic band. Intermission performances in between are magic tricks, random games that the crowd could participate and individual talents such as instruments, singing and dancing.
Then, the main event of the night, the performances of the dance club. Seulgi started it with a mind blowing performance, showcasing her abilities in hip-hop and pop and lock. The gym was filled with screams and ahhs from mostly Seulgi's own dedicated fans — no matter how weird that is.
Other solo and duo performances by the other dancers are all well received too, after all, the members of the dance club are all incredibly talented and they won't pass the audition if they don't seem fit for it.
And finally, one of the most if not the most anticipated performance of the night — Lisa and Jongin's collaboration stage.
"Oh my God! Finally!" Chaeyoung chirps while clasping her hands all together.
"See? Simping!" Jisoo remarks with a smirk.
Chaeyoung put her hand right in front of Jisoo's face without even sparing a glance. "Shut up and just watch."
Jisoo giggles. "Fine, mother."
Chaeyoung moves her hands back together again while waiting for Jongin to show up like most of the people are.
Jennie swallows a lump in her throat, the pieces those two performed during the practice were already beyond mesmerizing but as if it wasn't enough, they leveled it up by changing some parts of the choreography which effectively keeps everyone right on the edge.
Jongin is the first one to be on stage. He's wearing a white slightly oversized long sleeve polo shirt — unbuttoned half way through — tucked under a black trouser, a pair of black suspenders and finished it off with black shoes.
Jongin effectively grabs the attention of the audience, every movement his body is doing garnered him female fans after female fans plus it didn't help that the song is downright sensual.
Before his stage is done and over, Lisa finally made an entrance. Jennie could hear Chaeyoung's gasps, Jisoo and Joohyun's Woahs and the gym's Wows.
Just like in the practice, Lisa demanded attention and she almost instantly got it. Jennie also noticed how Lisa's aura had really changed compared to what it was few days ago, Lisa is definitely in her zone and Jennie finds herself unable to breath properly — so are the others though.
She's that captivating and breathtaking.
She's downright sexy.
Lisa's wearing an black cropped top with silver outline and customized belts in the under boob portion that showcased her toned abdominal area, black fingerless glove on her left hand, black high waisted shorts, several small leg purses that covered portions of her exposed legs, shiny straps dangling along her legs that are attached against the shorts and a black high boots to finish the look.
Lisa's mastery in tracking the active camera benefits the people that are sitting further from the stage. Her eyes are staring straight at the camera and the audience felt like she's staring at them personally.
Her new choreography left everyone speechless, some had their jaws agape, and others just failed to record the performance. Every movement that her body does lures people to not look away from her, and that's one of the things that makes her unique as a performer.
A lot can perform but only few are born with it.
And Lisa belongs to both.
Jongin joins her moments after and kept everyone captivated. As soon as they ended their performance, the entire gymnasium erupted with loud cheers and claps, even the faculty of teachers were stunned by it and took few seconds to react, the alumni section cheered very loudly too — definitely a memorable moment for the freshmen that turned to immediate college stars.
Taemin performs next and Jennie's consciousness is nowhere near where her body is. It wanders around especially after she accidentally shared a split second of eye contact with Lisa before her solo stage ended. It snatched all her oxygen away from her lungs.
Lisa was pretty far from where she was sitting but just that split second, it was as if Lisa sucked her entire being.
What the fuck was that?! Shit shit. Oh no. No. This is not happening. No!
The dance club ended their performances with the group and every stage were all well accepted by the audience. It's definitely a night to remember especially to the Seniors and the Freshmen.
The dance crew were cheering their hearts out for their successful short show. Everyone congratulated each other, all days of staying late and practicing hard were worth it.
Lisa went to their club room alongside Seulgi and Jongin to take a shower and change. They want to watch the remaining parts of the program but wanted to get cleaned up first.
Several minutes after, all three of them came out from different dressing rooms and had to laugh at their choice of outfits, they are all wearing different kinds of sweat shirt, totally the opposite of what they just wore on stage.
"We are no longer dancing. Why are we still somehow uniformed?" Seulgi says that made all of them laugh.
All three of them sat at a designated rows to finish the entire program.
About less than an hour after, people started leaving the gym as the event finally ended in a huge success. The staffs cleared and cleaned out the area while most of the student council officers assisted everyone and the higher officials thanked the Chancellor and alumni for attending.
Lisa is already on her way to the parking space, alone, because Jongin had to go first to meet up with his girlfriend when her phone went off for an upcoming text message, it's from Nayeon.
"Lisa! I saw your performances earlier and daaaaang girl! Sorry I didn't wait til the event is done to personally greet you. Had an important errand to finish BUT if you're available right now let's meet in café? I know it's almost 10 o'clock but I am still out here."
Lisa had to chuckle and types in her reply without looking at where she is walking. "How did you get the ticket pass though? And yeah sure, I'm famished anyway. Let me know the place and I'll drive there."
"Jane, who else? I'll send you the location and I'll see you there shortly."
Should've known that it's from Jennie. I really need food, my brain isn't functioning well.
After receiving the text of the exact location, Lisa pocketed her phone and went straight to her car. She was about to slide in after throwing her duffle bag on the shotgun seat when she heard a familiar voice and it automatically made her spin around.
And she wishes she didn't because what she saw made a huge crack in her fragile heart.
Jennie is in a different car — with a window rolled down — kissing a man she recognized as one of the alumni that was introduced to the crowd earlier.
She grips onto the window frame of the car a little bit too hard before she finally gets inside, Jongin warns her about this but she let her guard down and look at her right now, slamming the car door and drives off the parking area while trying not to crash it.
