Prologue to Bystander
I wake up on the same bed as him. Not remembering how did this happen. I look at him still asleep. I wrap my arms around myself, in disgust. What have I done?
𝙏𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙡𝙞𝙚𝙨𝙩 𝙢𝙚𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙨
It was another normal day for me killing curses, staying at Jujutsu high with my classmates Gojo Satoru, Shoko leiri,
Suguru Geto, Nanami Kento and Yu Haibara. Our teacher Masamichi Yaga was my legal guardian since my grandmother, my only remaining family member passed away.
I yawn sitting at the breakfast table.
Gojo looks at me and goes,
"Did you stay awake all night again Y/n? Who was the lucky man?"
"Your dad,"
I responded.
Shoko and Geto burst out laughing, Gojo pouts and chokeholds me messing up my hair. I elbow him in the stomach causing him to remove his hand and roll over on the ground.
"Good one Y/n."
Geto praises me.
Shoko chuckled.
We hear a knock on the door and stop messing around. Gojo sits down on the chair next to me with his head down. Shoko opens the door.
"Good morning Yaga sensei."
I greet him and all the others except Gojo do too.
"Good morning everyone, I'm sorry to disturb your breakfast but I have some bad news."
He sighs and sits down. We stop eating and look at him, paying him all our attention.
"What is it Yaga sensei?"
Even the prankster Gojo stops all his childish antics and asks him.
"An ex-member of the Zenin clan, Toji Zenin is now wanted for killing Jujutsu Sorcerers. He deserted his clan and now works as an assassin. I want you all to be even more cautious while going on your missions. And if you were to come across this man, run. Flee the scene I don't care how talented or powerful you are, I just want you to come back safely. Especially you Gojo and Y/n."
Shoko and Geto turn to me and Gojo. Did they think I was stupid enough to go against Yaga sensei?
"I'm not that worried about Y/n as I am about Gojo."
Go to scoffs.
"True. I second that."
Shoko agrees.
"What's with the biased treatment!?"
Gojo puffs his cheeks.
We all laugh except Gojo. We finish having our breakfast and head out for our next mission. It's not like we'll run into him right away anyways right?
We head to the busy streets of Akihabara. There were reports of curse sightings nearby. We split up into two teams me and Gojo, Shoko and Geto. Kento and Yu were on a different mission since last night. I had previously seen Toji while I was working for the Zenin clan about half a year ago. He didn't seem that odd at first. He was a tall man with jet black hair. But there was something that existed within him that was frantic. Maybe it was the suffocating expectations of the Zenin clan. Maybe that's why he resorted to becoming an assassin, driven mad by those people. Nevertheless, I have nothing to say about it. Everyone has their ways of coping.
We arrive at the first place where the curse was sighted. I walk inside first, Gojo was searching on the first floor while I make my way up the stairs to the second one. I hear a loud thud. A body flew straight across the corridors coming straight at me. I dodge it and look ahead at what was the cause behind it a curse or..?
It was him Toji Fushiguro, beating a man to death. He stops in his tracks because he recognised me too.
"Oh look what we have here. Y/n was it? Are you here to capture me?"
He takes out his weapon smiling at me.
"Depends. Will you leave me and this man alone if I choose not to apprehend you?"
He snickers.
"I can't leave him to breathe, you see. I'm under a contract with someone to bring in his dead body in a trash bag."
"Well, they do hate that man so much that they'd hire a rogue assassin like you. But I don't want to fight you if possible. It would be a shame for such a handsome man to pass away."
My hand reaches for my cursed weapon slung around my back. I had a feeling things were about to get messy and that Gojo was lazing off somewhere totally forgetting about the mission. So it was just me against this man.
"Your words please me."
In an instant he went right by me before I could withdraw my weapon, he lands right on the body dealing the final blow.
"But I'm not that big of a sleaze bag to have fun on a job. Until the next time, I see you Y/n."
He jumps out the window with the body in his hand and I try to follow him. I look out but he had already vanished. I slam my hand on the window shattering it in frustration.
"Damn it."
There was a note stuck on the belt of my skirt where his number was written. The note said,
"If you want to catch me you'll have to know me first."
"Cheeky bastard."
I mutter to myself and make my way up the stairs exterminating the curses. I finish the job and come out of the building then call Geto.
"Hello, Y/n?"
"Where is that useless sorcerer?"
"Oh you mean Gojo, he said that you already finished cleaning up so he's going shopping. So we all headed back since we finished our mission too. I guess he made you do all the job by yourself again?"
He laughs.
I groan.
"He's gonna wish he was dead when I find him."
I cut the call and make my way back to school in a cab. The question now was, do I tell them everything that happened?
