Weeks: thirty

"Will your parents be there?"

"No, they are at work," Namjoon answered, his eyes fixed on the road.

"Okay, then," Jin breathed out and looked out of the window.

"Don't worry, I won't try anything."

"Well, you better not," the older looked at him.

"I just wanted us to have some privacy to talk, you know?"

The gate opened and Namjoon parked his car in the garage. Jin got up and opened the door as his mind flooded with both nice and not so nice memories.

Namjoon walked into the house, taking his shoes off.

"Need help?" he asked, looking at Jin, who was struggling with his own. The older breathed out.

"Yes, please, thank you."

Namjoon squatted down and untied Jin's laces and took his shoes off. He then also helped him with his jacket and placed it onto the hanger.

But apart from this, he didn't try to do anything. He didn't want to push the latter; he was afraid that he could scare him away.

That was why he reduced physical contact at the necessary minimum. He hadn't tried to hold his hand in the car nor kiss him when he had picked him up. He knew that their relationship wasn't ready for it, that Jin wasn't ready for it.

If it were up to Namjoon, he would cuddle the heck out of that boy. He would kiss him, hold him and touch him, maybe even step a little further. But Jin was healing slowly and he was grateful that he at least got the second chance. They needed time.

"So... what are we going to do?" the shorter asked.

"I got us lunch," Namjoon said, walking into the kitchen. Jin followed the taller, looking around.

"What restaurant did you order from?"

Namjoon turned to the latter.

"I cooked."

Jin looked at the pots on the stove with meat and other ingredients on it, already cooked, ready to be warmed up. His mouth fell slightly open as the latter stirred the vegetables in the pan.

"Namjoon. You could've hurt yourself."

"Yeah, I could've but I didn't," he smiled at the other, who was still watching him with worry in his eyes, "you know, you should trust me more, Hyung."

"Trust you more?" he shook his head, "I saw how you were cutting an onion once. You hurt yourself multiple times. And what you do to the food is sometimes an abomination."

"B-but," Namjoon's voice slightly broke, "will you eat it? I cooked it just for you. Because you love food. And I wanted to make you happy."

Jin watched the boy, speechless.

"It probably won't be good; it definitely won't be as delicious as yours but... can you at least try it? Just a little bit. I really put a lot of effort and time into it," Namjoon continued.

"Of course, I will. I could never throw food out, you know me," the taller chuckled and Jin smiled, "I just got worried. Did you hurt yourself? Any burns, cuts?" the older examined his hands, while the latter was cooking.

"No!" Namjoon said proudly as he showed his hands to him and smiled like a small kid.

"Okay, good," Jin smiled.

"But now, go sit down. I'll serve it to you."

Namjoon moved one chair away and Jin sat on it, smiling. He moved it closer and came back to the stove. The older was watching the younger dancing around the kitchen and when the latter placed two bowls of kimchi fried rice on the table, he smiled.

"Thank you," he took his chopsticks, "enjoy your meal."

"You too, Hyung," Namjoon responded, gazing at Jin, who placed a little bit of rice in his mouth. The older raised his eyes and then his eyebrows.

"Why aren't you eating?" he asked, "Is there poison in this? Do you want to kill me? Is that the reason why you cooked today?"

"What? No," Namjoon shook his head, "I am nervous to hear your opinion, firstly. Secondly, I just realized how handsome you are today."

"Only today? Pf, I am handsome all the time," Jin rolled his eyes but smiled.

"Can't argue with that," the taller responded, placing a piece of meat in his mouth, "but what do you think?"

"Well, you definitely didn't get your stepfather's genes b-"

"Obviously. He's my STEPfather," Namjoon rose his eyebrows.

"Oh my god, can you stop being a smartass and let me finish? I know that. I am pregnant, not stupid, dumbass," Jin rolled his eyes, "but it's okay. It's edible."

"Do you like it?"

"Yes, I do like it. It's really good," Jin smiled supportively and continued to eat.

"Well, I'm glad to hear that."

They both ate quietly from there but that day, the atmosphere was much more relaxed and warmer than at their café date the week before. Jin had to say that although it was cooked by Namjoon, it wasn't that bad. It was slightly overcooked and there could be more seasoning but overall, his (boy)friend had done a great job.

When they finished, Namjoon broke the silence.

"You know, I got you something."

Jin rose his eyebrows. "Like a present?"

Namjoon nodded and gave him a big bag.

"Oh god, what is that?" Jin took the box out of it. "A pregnancy pillow?"

"You said you can't sleep well, so this might help you," Namjoon got up and placed the dishes into their dishwasher.

"No, I can't take it. That must've been so expensive," Jin shook his head.

"Please, Hyung. I know we aren't dating, but the baby kinda happened because of me, so..."

"Kinda?"

"Okay, it did happen because of me. And also, I already looked like a freak in that store. I don't wanna go there again. Please," Namjoon rubbed his hands together in a begging manner.

Jin sighed but smiled and looked at it again.

"Okay then. Thank you."

Namjoon smiled. "How's Jungkook?"

"He's well. He has Jimin over like every night."

The younger turned the dishwasher on and turned around to face him. "Every night?"

Jin nodded. "You don't wanna hear the things I heard. They are so loud," he rubbed the bridge of his nose.

"Oh no," Namjoon pouted. Deep down he wanted to offer him to stay here and he had to remind himself to shut his mouth. He didn't want to scare him off.

"Well, they are two young teenagers in love. What do you expect?" Namjoon said sitting down.

"To have some human decency, goddammit," Jin responded.

"Maybe with the pillow, you'll sleep better and then you won't hear them," the taller smiled supportively.

"Well, let's hope so."

And when the time came, after a whole afternoon spent together, Namjoon drove Jin home, like that true gentleman he was. He parked in the driveway of Jungkook's house and turned the engine off. Jin unbuckled his seat belt and smiled at Namjoon.

"Thank you for inviting me over. It was nice."

Namjoon turned his whole body and smiled as he nodded, "yes, it was."

He fought the urge to lean closer and connect their lips. He was tempted all afternoon to maybe slightly touch his hand or tug his hair behind his ear when it falling in his eyes but he could hold himself back. But right now, being so close to him, made his head spin and his legs weak.

He had to scream at himself in his mind to gain control but still - the urge, the need was there. Jin looked like an angel, as the street lamp was lighting up one part of his face, Namjoon couldn't help but drool. He fiddled with his fingers in his lap nervously.

And then everything happened too quickly. Namjoon wasn't sure if it really happened, so he only rubbed his cheek and smiled like an idiot.

Did Jin just kiss his cheek?
