Lexi's P.O.V
When we arrived home from dinner we went straight to Diego's office and told him we saw Marco and everything he said
"Shit....I didn't think he would do this" Diego mumbled
"What. What are you talking about" I asked Curiously
"People in the underground were talking about how the Spanish and Italian mafia are joining forces by marriage" Diego said
Carlos and I gasped
"WHAT" we screamed as we got up from the chairs we were sitting on
"Take a seat and I will explain" Diego said and we nodded and took a seat
"Ok. We are seated...tell us now" Carlos said
"Apparently Marco needs a wife to become a leader and he saw how you are about to be a leader of the mafia, so he asked your father for your hand in marriage. Your father agreed so you and Marco are arranged to get married" Diego said
When Diego said that my jaw was on the fucking floor
The fuck?
"I don't want to marry him. I can barely stand looking at him anymore" I said
"That Italian" Carlos said through gritted teeth
"Why now. I have been here with y'all in Russia for 7 month's already" I asked
"Apparently it is mafia rule that if a female mafia leader weds a male mafia leader, then the male gets her half and he is leader of his and her mafia. She has no say" Diego said
"So Marco is just marrying Lexi so he can get half of our mafia" Carlos asked
"Correct. If Lexi marries him he will be your new co-leader instead of Lexi" Diego said
"That's not fair. We are in 2020 women should be in power and not treated like they don't have a voice" Lexi said
"Amen to that sweetie" Amelia said as she walked in with Adriana
Amelia went over to Diego and gave him a kiss then walked to sit in the couch
"What are we talking about" Amelia asked
"Well. Apparently I am arranged to get married to Marco, so he can get the mafia. The usual stuff" I said and Amelias jaw dropped
"Woah. That can't happen Lexi and Carlos are just starting their relationship" Amelia said and I laughed
"What" Diego said staring at Carlos
"She's exaggerating. We aren't dating" Carlos said and I nodded
"Why does he need our mafia. Isn't his powerful enough" Amelia asked as she passed the baby to Carlos
"I dont want to hold this get it away" Carlos said as he held the baby far away
"Carlos she won't bite" amelia said and he scoffed
"So I am not the parent you or Diego can hold her" Carlos said annoyed
"Just hold her carlos don't be a wimp" Diego said and Carlos just rolled his eyes
"Fine." Carlos said
"Carlos. You don't hold a baby like that. She might fall" I said he just shrugged
"She fine" Carlos said
"Anyway, When Carlos combined the Russian and American mafia together as one we became the #1 mafia. We have the most money and people, plus all our allies" I said to Amelia
"So our mafia is basically unstoppable...right?" Amelia asked and I smiled
"Yes it is. Our mafia is the strongest because we train our people to be better than best, plus the top 2 assassin in the business are the leaders. We have billions to use and then some" I said confidently
"Apparently Marco isn't doing that good at being a leader and has cost the mafia a lot of money. He basically want to marry Lexi to have our money" Diego said
"He will ruin our mafia. Lexi will not marry him" Carlos said
"I agree. I broke up with him for this very reason. He cares more about his damn mafia than anyone else" I said
"I won't let him marry you Lexi. What they don't know is that you legally changed your last name from Garcia to Smirnov, so technically you are no longer mafia princess of the Spanish mafia. So that makes the arranged marriage void" Diego said
"Hopefully. Those damn Italian always find a way to ruin us" Carlos said and I nodded
I started pacing back and forth while my hands start to tremble
I can't go back
I will never marry Marco
"This is too much for me right now. I'm going to go shopping tomorrow to blow off some steam" I said
"Ok. I will assign some guards for you to take" Diego said and Carlos nodded which made me roll my eyes
"I don't need guards. If you don't know I am the #1 assassin I can protect myself" I said confidently
"Still. take the guards they can at least carry your bags" Diego said and I nodded
"Fine, but if they annoy me I will lose them" I said and he nodded
"Ok. Here take my card it's on me. Go crazy you need it" Diego said as he handed me a card
"No. I have my card and my money" I said but he didn't listen and placed the card in my hand
"The card has no limit so go blow off steam" Diego said
I sighed and nodded
"Fine. Just letting you know, I will go crazy" I said and he nodded
I left the office and went upstair to go to sleep
The next morning
I changed into a simple fit. I wanted to be comfortable since I will be shopping all day
I was about to leave my room when Carlos walked in.
"Hey" I said and Carlos didn't say anything he just kept walking towards me
"What are you doing" I asked backing away from him
"Well I just came to tell you that you have nothing to worry about I won't let Marco marry you even if it means I will have to kill him" Carlos said while twirling a piece of my hair which made me smile
"Don't worry about him. Marco is all bark no bite. He won't do anything stupid against us knowing we are stronger and can destroy his mafia" I said and he nodded
"Ok well im going to go shopping see you in a while" I said
"Bye see you soon" Carlos said and kissed my check which made me blush
I run downstairs and go to my car and head to the mall
At the mall
"Ok so let's start at the cheapest store and go up from there" I said to my bodyguards and started walking
"Ooooo let's go in there" I said pointing at Chanel
We went to everyone store in the mall. The guards had to make multiple trips to the car
7 hours later
I finally finished shopping. I got so many things.
Yay
Time to head home and face the music
I told the guards to take my bags and to go to the house and that I will be right behind them, after threatening them they finally agreed and left
I went to the bathroom and then I started to walk outside. I felt like someone was following me, but i shrugged it off
I'm just being paranoid I'm fine
I was walking to my car when I felt someone grabbed me, i tried to fight them off but they were too strong.
Next thing i know I felt a prick in my neck then darkness
