Lexi's P.O.V
I woke up to someone shaking me
"Whoever is shaking me you have 3 seconds before I kill you" I said which made the person laugh
"Princess. You couldn't kill me if you tried. GET UP. Time to work" Diego said
I instantly got out of bed really fast that I tripped and fell
As I get up I see Diego dying of laughter, so I throw a pillow at him which makes him fall.
I look over to the clock and it says 5am which causes me to groan
"So why did you wake me up at 5 in the morning" I asked
"I let you sleep in. Your day should've started at 4am but Carlos told me to let you sleep. You are in Russia now princess. Things are different now" Diego said and I just nodded
"Whatever. Leave so I can get ready. I will meet you in the kitchen" I said and he nodded and left
I walked to the bathroom and saw myself in the mirror...yikes. I look horrible. Nothing a shower can fix
I take a look in the shower and their is only Carlos shampoo.
"Great.I'm going to smell like Carlos" I mumbled as I rolled my eyes
I started taking off my clothes but stopped when I sensed someone near me
"I don't see how that is a bad thing" someone said which made me jump
"AHHH. What are you doing here. CREEP" I said while trying to catch my breath
"Diego told me to see what was taking so long" Carlos said
"It hasn't even been 5 minutes. He is so impatient" I said rolling my eyes
I looked over and saw Carlos just staring at me and I looked at him confused and he pointed to my chest. I looked down and saw I had no shirt on. I blushed and looked back at him and he was smirking
"OH MY GOD. TURN AROUND" I Screamed as I tried to find a shirt
"Calm down. It's not like I haven't seen you in a bra before" Carlos said as he rolled his eyes
"That doesn't mean you get a free show. Get out" I said as I pointed to the door
"Of course your majesty" Carlos said as he bowed and left
As soon as he left I locked the door and took a quick shower
After the shower
I got dressed in workout clothes and went to the kitchen
"Finally. I thought you died" Diego said and I scoffed
"Diego. You are so impatient. It took me like 30 minutes" I said
"Anyways time to go train" Diego said and I looked at him confused
"What about breakfast" I asked
"Breakfast is for people who are down here in 20 minutes or less" Diego said as he walked out of the kitchen
I grabbed a banana and started walking out of the kitchen when I bumped into someone and smushed my banana on them
"Oh my god. I'm so sorry" I said as I tried to clean the persons shirt
"No worries" the guy said in a deep Russian accent
"I'm Lexi" I said extending my arm to him
"William" he said as he shook my hand
"Ok then...William can you show me the gym?. I'm kind of lost" I asked nicely
"Of course. Follow me" he said as he grabbed my hand and lead me to the gym
As we walked towards the noisy gym, we made small talk. When we walked in it went quiet.
All of a sudden Carlos stood in front of me and pushed the dude away from me
"Carlos what are you doing" I asked him, but he ignored me
"Back away William...don't talk to her" Carlos growled at him
Ok. Mr.possessive I see you
"Dude chill. She asked me to bring her here. Is she your girlfriend" William asked wiggling his eyebrow which made me giggle
"No. She isn't and she is not going to be yours" Carlos said and lead me towards the opposite side of the gym
"Stay here" he whispered I'm my ear which made me get goosebumps, I shook it off and nodded
"Attention everyone. This is Lexi. She is the soon to be leader of the mafia also. Please treat her as your queen. If any of you disrespect her, I will not hesitate to kill you" Carlos said and I just placed a hand on his shoulder and he calmed down
"Hey guys I'm Lexi, as Carlos told you. I'm not yet leader, I have a couple months until my 18th, but right now I'm just trying to get the lay of the land. So just treat me like a friend" I said and smiled at them
"Ok. Back to training" Carlos said and everyone nodded and resumed training
"Lexi. Follow me please" Carlos said and I followed him to a separate gym
"This is our gym. As leaders we get our own gym away from the others. You will be training for 10 hours a day until you are 18" Carlos said and my jaw dropped
"Carlos. That's literally suicide" I said as I groaned
"Lexi. We are going to be leaders. These people will look up to us and we have to be an example of the best of the best. Which we are. I know in Italy you barely exercised, so you are out of practice" Carlos said which made me roll my eyes
"I'm not out of practice. I just took a small break" I mumbled which made Carlos laugh
"I have to go to a meeting, but Diego will be here to train you. Good luck. Don't die" Carlos said as he left and left me here by myself.
The door suddenly opened and it was Diego
"Time to train" Diego said
10 hours later
I am drenched in sweat and blood. Diego is not playing around. For an old man he has a killer right hook.
It was now 4pm and I am starving.
"Go shower and then we can go eat at my new restaurant this evening. Dress fancy " Diego said and I nodded
"See you soon" I screamed as I ran to Carlos room leaving behind a laughing Diego
I entered Carlos room running towards the shower taking off my clothes. I opened the shower door and saw Carlos naked
"AHHHHHH" I screamed as I covered my eyes
"IM SO SORRY OH MY GOD" I screamed as I tried to leave the shower with my eyes closed
Carlos was just laughing at me.
"Lexi you can open your eyes now. I put on a towel" Carlos said and I peeked through my hands and saw him in a towel
"So. Do what do I owe the pleasure of you storming into my shower naked" Carlos said and that's when I realized I was also naked
"OH MY GOD" I ran towards the cabinet with the towels and grabbed one and covered up.
I was blushing like crazy, so I kept my head down. Carlos walked over and lifted my chin and he just stared at me
"Well I guess we are even now" Carlos said smirking
"Whatever. Last time you will see me naked" I said confidently
"We will see about that" Carlos mumbled quietly
"What did you say?" I asked
"Nothing. How are you. You ok" Carlos asked
This is one of the reasons I like Carlos, he is always checking up on me. He knows I look fine, but inside I'm a mess
"Just peachy" I said smiling
"Lexi" Carlos said sternly
"Fineeee. I feel ok..I think. Like I am sad about my family, but at the same time I am happy that I get to be here with you and Diego" I said truthfully
"Well. I'm glad you are here" Carlos said as he walked closer to me. I took a step back
"I'm happy to hear that Carlos. I was so sad, I could never congratulate you about meeting your parents and getting the American mafia. So I guess Congratulations are in order" I said
He walked closer to me. I tried to take a step back, but my back hit a wall
"Well. Lexi. Thank you for the congratulations. I felt bad I wasn't there for you when your family was ignoring you" Carlos said as he tucked a piece of hair behind my ear
"I'm happy we are co-leading this mafia" Carlos whispered in my ear and left
The fuck was that.
Holy fuck. That was hot
"Woah" I mumbled
I got in the shower and took a long shower 😏
That night
"Finally. Let's go. I'm starving" Diego said as he saw me at the top of the staircase
I was dressed in an all black dress. It was super fancy
I walked down the stairs and saw Carlos sitting in a chair and Amelia on the couch.
"Let's go" I said which made Carlos look up at me. He just stared at me then he stood up and walked towards me
"You look beautiful" he whispered in my ear
Two can play this game
I looked up at him and grabbed his shoulder for him to bend down and he did
"You look sexy" I whispered seductively in his ear which made him hold me by my waist
"Be careful Lexi" he whispered back and I just moved away and walked out the door unbothered
At the restaurant
We arrived at the restaurant and immediately got seated. Carlos and I sat on one side and Amelia and Diego on the other side
"Welcome to Smirnov's. What can I get for you" the waiter asked
"I don't know what to get" I whispered to Carlos
"Don't worry. I will order for you" he whispered back as he put a hand on my thigh
"Hi can I get......" Carlos said but I zoned him out because I saw someone out of the corner of my eye staring at me
"Ok that will be right out" the waiter said and left
"Of course you would name a restaurant after you" I said to Diego which made Amelia laugh
"What can I say. I'm the best so it's smart to name a restaurant after the best" Diego said confidently which made me laugh
"Then you should have named it Lexi" I said sarcastically which made Diego roll his eyes
"So how did you and Diego meet" I asked Amelia
"Well I was working in a small bakery in Moscow when Diego walked in all bloody asking me to help him. Obviously I said no, but he threatened me with a gun, so I helped him. After that he kept coming in every day to get a coffee and a muffin." Amelia said
"Wait. Isn't Moscow like 40 minutes from here" I questioned
"Yes it is" Carlos answered drawing circles on my thigh with his finger
"So you went 40 minutes away everyday for a coffee and a muffin?" I asked Diego
"Yes I did. And I would do it again" Diego said as he kissed Amelia on the cheek which made her giggle
"I never expected to see this side of you dad" I said to him which made him laugh
"I am a man with many faces" Diego replied
"Not really...you are just like a mean tiger everyday" I said which made everyone laugh
"Not funny. I am not a tiger, if I was an animal I would be a lion" Diego said confidently
"Sure you would honey. Ok. Back to the story. After a month of coming in he asked me out and I was hesitant, but said yes. 3 dates after that he asked me to move in and I found out I was pregnant. The rest is history" Amelia said which made me smile.
She actually loves Diego....woah
"That's so cute. I hope you guys stay happy" I said sadly which made Amelia grab my hand and squeeze it
"It's ok hun. You will be happy in time" Amelia said which made Carlos squeeze my thigh
"Here is Your food" the waiter said as he placed plates in front of us and left
I took a bite and moaned
"This is delicious" I said which made everyone laugh
"Can I try yours" I whispered to Carlos
"Sure. Here" Carlos said as he brought food to my mouth and I ate it
"Oh my god. That's so good" I moaned which made Carlos eyes turn dark. I looked away and took a drink of water
"So Lexi are you single" Amelia asked which made me choke on my water
"Yes I am. I broke up with my boyfriend about 3 months ago" I said looking down
"I'm sorry. Can I ask what happened?" Amelia asked and I smiled and nodded
"Sure. We were dating for almost a year, I met him at school and we hit it off. He is the leader of the Italian mafia. We were so happy together" I said sadly while my eyes teared up
"I was In love with him as he was with me, but then my birthday happened and Diego announced Carlos and I would lead the Russian mafia he stopped talking to me. 2 weeks later I went to talk to him and he broke up with me because he didn't want to be associated with the Russian mafia. I thought he would be happy for me, Diego naming me leader of the mafia made me so happy and i thought he would've supported me, but he chose his mafia over me" I said silently crying
Carlos lifted my chin so that I looked at him and his eyes softened and he wiped my tears away with a napkin
I hugged him and cried in his arms
"It's ok Lexi. Are you ok?" Carlos whispered in my ear
"Im ok" I whispered back
"No your not, it's ok to not be ok lex" Carlos whispered
"Pinky Promise?" I whispered which made him laugh
"Pinky promise" he said as he hooked my pinky with his and I smiled
I looked over to see Diego and Amelia looking at us curiously. They snapped out of it and just stared at us
"I'm sorry that happened to you sweetie. You deserve someone who would support you through everything" Amelia said as she smiled softly at me
"You know that wasn't even the worst part of those weeks. The worst part was my family. I got home after my birthday and my father yelled at me saying to turn down the position and he was mad at me for calling Diego dad, so he cut up all my cards and said if I wanted money to ask "my dad" and that I didn't deserve the Garcia name. My brothers agreed with him and they all ignored me for 2 weeks. They treated me like a business transaction...they all did. What hurt the most was that they didn't even let me explain my side of it. I finally had it the day Marco broke up with me, and I ran away. I wrote them a letter explaining everything and I haven't looked back ever since" I said sadly and looked up and saw Amelia silently crying
"Oh my god don't cry. I'm sorry" I said panicked
"Oh sweetie. You didn't do anything when I hear a sad story my pregnancy hormones make me cry" Amelia said smiling
"Oh. So you are ok?" I asked which made her laugh
"Yes I am. Don't worry about me" Amelia said
"Well this was eventful" Diego said which made all of us laugh
"I'm sorry princess that all that happened because of me" Diego said
"Don't be sorry. What you did made me realize they were never actually my family. You and Carlos are. You guys were there for me through everything and I'm grateful for that" I said smiling at him
"Still. I was the one who stirred the pot" Diego said which made me roll my eyes
"Dad. It's ok. Seriously. It made me see that I wasn't actually in love Marco, I just loved the idea of being with him and having a semi-normal life" I said smiling sadly
"Lexi. You can still have a normal life" Amelia said
"Maybe....one day" I said
"Ok then let's head home. I need sleep" Diego said and we all nodded
Back at the house
We arrive home and I walk inside and everyone followed behind me
"Hey dad. Is my room ready yet?" I asked him
"No princess. All the other rooms are taken so you will have to bunk with Carlos for the next week." Diego said
"Ok. That's fine right?" I asked Carlos
"Yeah. I don't mind" Carlos said smirking
"Ok then time for bed" I said as I grabbed Carlos hand and ran upstairs
