Rengoku shouted in anger, and Akaza tried throwing a punch to him, but it was caught by Rengoku. 'He stopped me! What an unbelievable strength! Despite the fact my right hand has pierced through his solar plexus!' Akaza said in his head.
'I can't pulled out my arm!' Akaza said in his head. "You're not getting away!" Rengoku shouted. Akaza was trying to run away but both his arms were stuck. "Theirs no way I'm ever going to let go!" Rengoku shouted. Then both him and Akaza started yelling out in anger. "This is our chance, we got to help him!" Tanjiro shouted as he ran over to them. Xenovia, Kiba, and Inosuke ran with him to finish off Akaza. Akaza was realizing that the sun was almost up, but he couldn't leave because of Rengoku. "C'mon! We have to cut his head off! Do it for Rengoku!" Tanjiro shouted at them. Before they can get to them, Akaza jump to the air having broken off Rengoku's sword that was still in his neck.
The sun was coming up and he started dashing to the forest. 'Now to head where the sun won't get me!?' Akaza said in his head. Tanjiro and Issei chased after him, and Tanjiro threw his sword at Akaza. 'That was troubling, I gotta get away from the sun-'
Akaza got stabbed through his chest. He turn around and saw that Tanjiro and Issei were chasing him. "Don't run away you coward!" Tanjiro shouted. "Don't run away!"
"You piece of shit! How dare you do that to Rengoku!" Issei shouted. 'What's with those two, don't they have some brains? I'm not running away from you guys, I'm running away from the damn sun! Besides, the match is probably done and that guy is gonna die.'
"The demon slayers always fight you in the darkness of the night when it's advantage for you! We're human in flesh and blood! Wounds don't just simply close us, and we got limbs that if we loose won't ever come back!" Tanjiro shouted. "Don't run! You damn dolt! You coward! Compared to the likes of you, Rengoku will always be more amazing! He's strong, he's not gonna lose, and he never let anyone die! He fought to the end! He protected to the end! You're the loser and Rengoku is the winner!"
Tanjiro then started crying with Issei by his side. "Theirs no point in shouting Tanjiro. The wound on my stomach is opening, and you don't have any minor injuries either" Rengoku said. They walked back to him and he kept on talking. "Tanjiro my boy, if anyone dies, it will be my loss" Rengoku said. "Everyone, get close to me. Let's have one final group conversation."
"Rengoku, theirs no need to act like you're going to die! Asia can heal you!" Issei said, holding back his tears. "She can't... My wound is very fatal and I have lost a lot of blood. I'm going to die soon, I'm gonna talk while I still can, so please all of you listen to me" Rengoku said. "I want you guys to tell my little brother, that he should proceed down the road that he thinks is right. As his heart tells him to."
"And then tell my father, to take care of his body. And also, I believe in all of you. I accept all of you as demon slayers. Inside the train, I saw all of you risking your life's and protecting the people in the train. Those who risk their life to fight demons and protect humans, are demon slayers, no matter what anyone else has to say."
"I want all of you to live with your chest high. If you get knocked down by your own weakness and cowardice, flame up your heart, grit your teeth, and move forward. Even if you stop in your tracks and cower, you're not gonna stop the flow of time. Don't be sadden by the fact that we're all reaching the end."
"Don't worry about me dying here, if you're a pillar it's natural for you to become the shield of your juniors. If you're a pillar, you do the same as everyone else, no matter who they are" Rengoku said. "My students, you all have to grow up and next time, you will all become pillars who will support the demon slayers. I believe in all of you, I truly do."
Rengoku then slowly turn to the others. "Issei, I know you're actually a strong warrior underneath that pervert that people call you. Let that warrior break free, and prove them wrong. I know you can." Issei started crying and said "I will." "Also, tell Gasper for him to not be afraid of his powers, that he shouldn't run away from them. Tell him that I believe in him, and I know he can succeed." He turn to Asia and said "Asia, don't blame yourself for not being able to heal me. Not all the time you will be able to save everyone, but always try to. Don't care on what people call you, because deep down your you and everyone here likes that you." Asia shook her head with tears coming down. He turn to Kiba and said "Kiba, what I said to my students also implies to you. You're a great swordsmen, and I think you can use your skills to join the demon slayers. I know you'll make a great demon slayer."
Kiba shook his head and he then turn to Akeno and said "I know we didn't get to talk to each other that much, but I only have one thing to say to you. Take care of Rias for me." Akeno nodded and he turn to Koneko. "Koneko, you're an odd one. I feel like you're hiding something because you're afraid of it, but don't be. Every strong warrior has something to hide but you can use that to increase your strength." Koneko nodded and Rengoku turn to Rias.
"Rias, you were such a good friend to me. I never hated any of those minutes I spend with you" Rengoku said. He turn to Xenovia and said "Xenovia, I do hope you find a new goal. Something that you can love and know that you would want to spend the rest of your life trying to reach. I'm sorry I couldn't be the father of your child, but it was an honor that you nominated me" Rengoku said.
"Rengoku, don't go" Xenovia said with tears coming down her eyes. She kissed him on the lips and said "I love you, and I hope you remember that." Rengoku nodded and said "I love you too." She then hugged him crying.
Behind all of them, stood his mother looking at him.
'Mother, did I do everything right? Was I able to fulfil everything I was supposed to carry out?' Rengoku said in his head. His mother smile and said "You did a wonderful job."
Rengoku was a little shock and then he smile.
With that, he gave out his last breath and he was alive no more. Xenovia began crying louder when she felt his heart stopped. "In the train, I saw him using a lot of breathing techniques to make sure none of the people's injuries would've gone worst" Zenitsu said. "For him to die like this, I can't believe it. Did an upper moon really showed up?"
"Yeah" Tanjiro said still crying. "Rias, can't you turn him into a devil! He can finally join your peerage" Issei said. "I gave up my knight piece to Xenovia, so I can't" Rias said. "I hate it, that I had a chance to do something but something else had to block it" Tanjiro said. "Even though I should've been able to help him out, I still couldn't get to them. Can I even become like Rengoku?"
Zenitsu started crying as well, but Inosuke shouted "Don't go spewing out timid ass words!! All that talk about where you can or can't be like him is pointless!! He said that he believe in all of us!! Don't think about anything else except living up to it!! Creatures that die just return to the earth!! He won't come back if you guys keep crying about it!!"
"Don't cry, even if you feel regret! No matter how miserable you are, how embarrassing you are, you just have to keep living!" Inosuke shouted with tears coming out of his mask. "But you're crying too, there are tears coming out of that headpiece" Zenitsu said.
"I ain't crying!" Inosuke shouted as he headbutted Zenitsu in the forehead. Inosuke was yelling, trying to hide his tears, so he look at Kiba and said "Hey Kimba, let's finally have that fight!!"
The others didn't react to him, as they were all still crying about loosing Rengoku. "The worst part is that Rengoku died a virgin" Issei said, as Rias smacked him.
News spread of Rengoku's death in the demon slayer society. The other Hashiras who were on missions found out from their crows. "Is that so? Rengoku has..." Shinobu said, looking down on the ground with a tear coming out her eye. Mitsuri gasp and put her hand over her mouth, and then started crying. Muichiro was walking in the woods, ignoring the crow. Tengen punch a wall with his fist and tears were coming out his eyes. "So even Rengoku lost to the upper moon demons" he said. Obanai was standing on a roof and he said "I don't believe this." Gyomei was crying and started praying for Rengoku. Sanemi was in his backyard, wiping a tear from his eyes, and he said "I will annihilate all unsightly demons!" Giyu was walking and he said "I see."
