Getting Back Together

William, after a while, started to do some background research on your new boyfriend. He wanted to know everything about him. It was a good thing that William had looked deeper into that man's history, because he had found out that your new boyfriend was an ex-noble who used women to his pleasure, and he treated them like objects.

So to put it simply, William wasted no time, and killed him. Obviously, he planned everything out, and without shame, he ended his life.

After you found out your new boyfriend died, his secrets were exposed, and you were relieved that you were able to be out of that relationship before anything dangerous happened to you. You didn't feel any pity for people like that.

You were at the university that day. It was the afternoon meaning there were no classes going on, and you received a note that William called you to his office. You were nervous facing him, because of your old feelings. But you went anyway.

You knocked on the door weakly. You heard his calm voice from the other side. "Come in." You opened the door slowly and made your way over to his desk. He didn't seem surprised that you were coming. He looked away, avoiding your gaze. "Good afternoon, Miss (y/n)." He said calmly.

You looked away. "Good afternoon, professor. Please tell me what you needed to inform me of, so I can be on my way."

He still wasn't looking you straight in the eye when he approached you. "Wait, (y/n)... I... miss you." He said with a deep breath. The sadness in his eyes was evident.

Your eyes widened. You hadn't expected this to be the important matter he needed to discuss with you. "Why are you telling me this, William?" You asked quietly, holding back tears. You didn't want him to see you cry.

"Is it so wrong of me to want you back? I used to think of these feelings as a weakness, I thought it was such love that made one weak and vulnerable." He said smiling sadly. "I loved you, (y/n). And despite everything I've said, I still love you. It was wrong of me to let you go..."

William's sentence trailed off, and there was silence. He looking down. "I am selfish to say all this. Yes, it might have been a mistake calling you here, but-"

"William... I never stopped loving you either." You walked closer to him, closing the distance between your faces. William embraced you in a deep and meaningful kiss. How he had missed this. And now that you were his again, he promised that he would never let you go.

Louis was busy cooking lunch in the kitchen when he heard William come in. He instantly turned around and greeted his older brother. "Brother William, why are you here in the kitchen? The food is not fully ready yet." He explained.

William shook his head. "I'm not here to check up on the food, Louis. I just wanted to see how you're doing. You rarely talk to me anymore, and I just want to look after my younger brother."

Louis smiled a little, but his smile quickly disappeared. He turned around to tend to the food he was cooking. "I'm fine brother, please don't worry about me."

William smiled sadly. "Louis, you know that there is no point in lying to me."

Louis kept silent, not knowing what to say. William continued. "Why did you and (y/n) separate? I have noticed that the two of you are no longer together."

Louis didn't say anything and just looked down. "These feelings scare me, William. I'm not sure what to do. I'm not as smart or confident as you, and I'm not as charming as Albert. I think it's meant to be like this."

William wanted to say something to his younger brother, but before William continued, he stepped aside and you shyly entered the kitchen. You were passing by the kitchen while William and Louis were having that conversation and you couldn't help but come in to see him again. It had been a few weeks since you and Louis had even said a word to each other.

William smiled at you. "(y/n), me and Louis were just having a quick conversation. I supposed leave the two of you alone for now." He nodded and left the room. William hoped that you would be able to help Louis with how he was feeling, and he knew that you would be the one who would be best to talk to him. He also knew that you and Louis would be able to sort things out on your own.

Louis was about to walk out of the room quickly, but you stood in his way. "Louis, please talk to me? Just for a little while?" You asked hopefully. Louis stepped back, ashamed.

"I'm sorry." He said quietly. "Is there something you want to say?"

You sighed. "I heard everything you said with William. How can you say that about yourself, Louis?" Tears of frustration ran down your face. "Don't realize how much you mean to me? It hurts me that you can't even realise your own worth. You're the one who saved me, remember? You're the one who brought me into this new life, and without you I wouldn't be here, I wouldn't be enjoying my life, and I wouldn't be happy."

Louis had tears in his eyes from all he had heard from you. Hearing all that made him happy, and he smiled sadly. "(y/n), I told you that I wanted to stop our relationship, not because I stopped loving you, but because I was scared. I was scared of having these feelings... but I'm scared of losing you too..."

You unexpectedly went and kissed him. He was surprised at the action. He thought you had hated him after he had broken things off with you. When the two of you pulled back, you looked Louis in the eye, placing a hand gently on his face.

"I love you, Louis, more than you can imagine. It's okay to be scared, it's normal." You reassured. Louis smiled back at you, giving you a light kiss. "I love you too, (y/n)."

You were still stuck at the party that you were attending with your parents. After you were introduced to your new suitor, some rich noble who was probably older than your father, you were forced to talk to him for a while.

The old suitor spent the whole time talking on and on about his money. You were frustrated and you just wish you could leave, but for the sake of your family and reputation, you kept that fake smile on your face, and continued nodding at him to continue.

Once you got the opportunity, you quickly excused yourself and went to take a break outside. You were alone, and it was starting to get dark out. You slumped against the wall and started to cry. You didn't even care about your ruined makeup anymore.

You just wanted to escape somewhere, this expectation that you had to marry whoever your parents picked out for you. It was as if they didn't even care about your well-being.

Meanwhile, Albert, after conversing with many nobles here and there, also went outside for a small break. He thought about leaving the party for good until he noticed you were also outside. He heard that you were crying.

He walked over to you, wanting to make sure you were okay. "(y/n)? You're crying, what's the matter?" He asked gently, concern was clear in his eyes. You were surprised to see him here, and you ignored his question, wiping your tears away. "Albert!? What are you doing out here?"

He shrugged. "I could be asking you the same. Aside from that, how are you feeling? Clearly, you're not feeling well. You could talk to me about it?" Albert wanted to be able to comfort you like he used to do whenever you were stressed or upset about something.

You hesitated, but you ended up telling him what happened. About your parents and what they expected of you, and even about how you missed him and how you hated the thought of being with anyone else. He was there to listen, when no one else was. He listened to what you had to say, and somewhere along the way, you broke down and started crying again.

In the end, Albert helped you up and wiped your tears away. "I'm sorry you have to see me like this, Albert. I'm a mess aren't I?"

"No. You're not a mess. I think you're beautiful." After saying that, you looked away in embarrassment, but he just leaned down and kissed you. You weren't expecting that at all, but you didn't push him away, and you deepened the kiss further.

After the two of you pulled back to catch some breath, he looked ashamed of himself, but he looked you in the eyes. "I love you, (y/n). Like I always will..." He hesitated for a bit. "Will you accept me back?"

"You're the only one I want to spend the rest of my life with." You said. Albert gave you a sad smile, and offered you his hand. "I suggest we leave this god-forsaken party. I'll take you home, my carriage is waiting."

You gladly accepted the ride back, and you didn't even care about the reaction your parents would have when they found out you had left without them.

You had a day off, but even so, you headed to the bar again. You just wanted a good distraction and a few drinks sounded like a good idea. You ordered a few beers, and some of the other customers were surprised to see a lonely lady like you drinking so much so carelessly.

You didn't care though. You felt hopeless, and you lost all willingness to do anything. After a few drinks, you became a little dizzy, and you were about to head home when a burly man cornered you. They pushed you against the wall. "Hey, pretty lady. Why don't you come with us, we'll have a really nice night. It'll be fun."

You didn't even try to run or get away. You felt almost lifeless. You didn't care about what happened anymore. When the two men realized you weren't going to do anything to stop them, they tried to drag you upstairs to their room at the inn.

Moran happened to be at the same pub that night, and he caught on to everything that was happening. He was enraged. He walked over and without warning, punched the guy in the face. The stranger fell to the ground and held his nose, now broken and bleeding.

"Don't you f*cking touch her, you got that? Or I'll smash every f*cking bone in your body and make you wish you were dead." He leaned down, intimidatingly whispering the warning to him.

"It ain't my fault she's a sl*t." He sneered, trying to sound tough, though he was scared as hell. Moran gave him a final kick in the face, and he yelped in pain, scrambling away in fear.

Moran grabbed your arm and quickly brought you out of the bar. He gripped your shoulders, a worried look on his face. "(Y/n), what did that *sshole do to you?"

You started to cry, thankful that Moran had saved you, and thankful that you got to see him again. "I'm okay, Moran. Thank you." You felt weak for crying and as much as you hated him for what he did to you, you couldn't help but hug him.

"(Y/n), about what happened a few months back... I was drunk, really drunk. It meant nothing to me and ever since that I've never kissed another girl. I messed everything up..."

You interrupted him with a kiss. He was surprised, but quickly closed his eyes and kissed you back. You sighed, smiling for the first time in a while. "I'm an idiot for loving you."

Fred was walking past your house again, and he just stood there in front of your door. He wanted to knock. He had come planning to talk to you, but he started thinking he should head back home.

He was holding a few small flowers in the palm of his hand. They were your favourite. He wanted to give them to you and apologize to you, but he was too shy. He had come here planning to ask you if the two of you could at least be friends.

He wanted to leave, but he wanted to stay too. He knew that there was no way you would accept to be friends with a creep like him, but he still at least wanted to apologize to you, something he hadn't got the chance to do before.

He was about to leave when he heard the door open. He looked back and saw that you had opened the front door. Fred wanted to run off, but it was too late. You had already seen him.

"Fred? What are you doing here?" You asked quietly. Fred didn't look you in the eye when he handed you the flowers. You grabbed them, still wondering why he was here.

He started to speak. "I'm sorry, (y/n). Doing what I did was wrong, but I never wanted to hurt you. I thought I was keeping you safe, and making sure that nothing bad happened to you, but I wasn't considering how it would feel for you. I know what I did was wrong." He hesitated before continuing.

He looked at you with a small and nervous smile. "I was hoping we could still be friends? If you feel uncomfortable with that, then it's okay." He added quickly.

You took the flowers gently and smiled. He remembered your favorite flowers. It almost made you cry to think that he came all the way here to apologize to you in such a sincere way.

You remembered how gentle and kind Fred really was. You decided it was your turn to say sorry. "Fred, I'm so sorry for yelling at you like that. I shouldn't have said all those things to you without considering how you felt. I know you would never do anything to hurt me."

"So, we can be friends?" Fred asked hopefully.

You didn't want to be only friends with Fred, you wanted him back because you truly did still love him. "Fred, I don't think it's a good idea for us to be friends... it wouldn't work out, since I still have feelings for you."

Fred's eyes widened. "You still love me?" He wasn't expecting you to say that. You nodded and didn't say anything. He came forwards and held your hand. "Maybe instead of friends, we could get back together?" Fred suggested, blushing.

You smiled. "I'd love that."

"Go and talk to her, Sherlock!" Watson encouraged. Sherlock laid on the couch, running a hand through his hair in frustration. He was smoking his tenth cigarette and was reaching for a new one when Watson took them out of his reach.

Sherlock grumbled. "John, mind your own damn business for once! Stay out of my life and leave me alone!" He yelled.

Watson stood firmly. "Sherlock, you need to go and see (y/n) right now. Look at what happened to you! You clearly can't live without her! You're a mess for goodness sake!" Watson looked around. Sherlock's room was in chaos, and Sherlock himself wasn't doing too good either.

"I don't want to see her right now!" Sherlock yelled angrily standing up from the couch. John wouldn't budge on this though. "Sherlock, I know you're scared to see her, but I need to help you. I'm your friend, and that's what friends do."

"I'm not scared, I just don't want to," Sherlock muttered, scratching the back of his head.

"Please just come, Sherlock. Just talk to her a little. Just because you split up, doesn't mean you can't ever see her again." He consoled.

"Fine, fine. If I talk to her once, you have to leave me alone, and never bother me about this again. And you have to pay 70% of the rent."

"I already pay 70% of the rent," Watson muttered. But he just sighed. "Let's go then."

A little while later, Watson and Sherlock ended up at your mansion. It wasn't as big as the rest of the houses down the street, but it was big enough to make him feel a little intimidated. He was wearing Watson's hat, and was using his cane to seem a little more presentable. He was also holding a small bouquet of roses, which was John's idea.

He knocked on the door, and soon enough, you came down to greet the guest. You opened the door with a smile to greet the stranger, but your smile vanished as soon as you saw Sherlock.

"Sherlock?" You questioned quietly. "What are you doing here?" You noticed the dark bags under his eyes, and that he had lost some weight. You wondered if it was because of you.

Sherlock sighed. He handed the flowers to you. "This was John's idea by the way." He stood there awkwardly, not knowing what to say.

Watson sighed and started talking. "Basically, Sherlock came all the way here to say that he's sorry and that he still loves you very much!"

The shock was clear on Sherlock's face, he was about to deny it and punch Watson in the gut, but you spoke up. "Is... is this true, Sherlock?" Your eyes were starting to tear up.

Sherlock rubbed the back of his head. He just nodded. "Yes, it- it was all true. I'm sorry for everything I said, (y/n). Please, can we start over? Give us another chance?" He looked down in embarrassment, but you went up and hugged him.

"You don't even have to ask."
