At dusk, the sun turns orange, and the light it emits paints the world with golden yellow and light pink shades. A few bunches of clouds were there , as if God had placed bumps in the sky to acknowledge its existence.
Yes, it is the one of eyes pleasuring the sunset of a random Saturday.
Sipping the green tea with eyes stuck on sunset, Priya was admiring nature standing at the balcony of their bedroom.
After their wedding anniversary everything is going just like how she dreamt. A peaceful and happy life with the love of her life.
Yet she has this feeling of missing something in between their peaceful life.
It's been three months since they celebrated their first wedding anniversary with joy and love. Arjun took her out for a date as he promised her. He even bought her gifts which she didn't expect at all.
He gave her a pair of diamond studs and a gold anklet which she loved.
Gulping the last sip of green tea priya walked inside only to find Arjun engrossed in his laptop.
He has been working since morning even though it's a holiday. He skipped his breakfast too. It was priya who forcefully fed him lunch while he was working.
" Arjun take a break , and have the coffee, it might get cold later " priya said while approaching him in slow steps and stood beside him folding her both hands till her chest.
Arjun nodes his head still his eyes glued to his laptop screen. It pissed her off.
It's a holiday and they are supposed to enjoy their quality time where Arjun is stuck with his laptop like it is his wife.
She really wants his attention, but here Arjun is being a dumb to get it.
Leaving a long sigh, she turned around to leave from there, but as soon as she turned Arjun grabbed her hands which led her to fall on his lap due to a lack of balance.
" Ouch " priya yelped due to his sudden act. Arjun circled his arms around her waist and pulled her more into him.
She looked for his laptop, it was placed on the table beside him. She breathed out of relief knowing she didn't damage his laptop.
" What was that ?" Priya asked him with a murderous glare.
" Nothing, I'm taking a break and gonna pamper my wife who is upset with me because she thinks I'm ignoring her in the morning, which isn't true at all. " Arjun spoke with a silly smile on his face. Taking off his right arm from her waist, he terraced her forehead to till her neck line with his thumb. Still maintaining eye contact with her.
Priya's anger flew away as soon as she came in contact with his warm breaths which were falling on her face due to their intimate position.
" What's wrong baby ? Arjun asked, sensing the discomfort in her eyes.
" I don't know, I'm feeling ignored , I'm feeling like you have lost your interest in me. I don't know why but I want to cry. I'm....... I'm...... having a mixture of emotions right now. '' Priya choked and hugged him, sliding her both hands around his neck.
" Owwww..........so my wife is having mood swings huh. Let me treat you baby I'll make your mood hundred times better trust me " Arjun mumbled near her ear while cherishing her hairs.
Indeed she has mood swings, Arjun stood up with her still in his arms and walked towards bed. Priya's hold on him got tightened as she didn't expect this from him.
Well, it's a different thing that his actions are totally unexpected when he's around her.
He made her lay down on bed and he himself laid beside her.
Priya hugged him as soon as he laid beside her, this brought a chuckle on Arjun's face.
Placing her face in the crook of his neck, Priya slides her one hand inside his t-shirt.
Roaming her hands on his bare skin, priya kissed on his neck. Arjun was having difficulty breathing because his wife was doing something unusual and unexpected.
He thought she wanted to cuddle with him, that's why he brought her to bed, but it looks like Priya have other plans.
Holding her hands Arjun brought out her hand which was roaming inside his t-shirt. Priya got annoyed at the way he was denying her.
Lifting her head up she looked at him in anticipation.
" Not now baby, I'm literally stinking due to sweat. Will continue this at night " Arjun said in a soft tone so that she won't feel rejected.
Nevertheless priya's eyes get glossy, she indeed felt rejected. Tears found their way through her cheeks.
She too knew he didn't do that intentionally yet something was so heavy Inside her that she couldn't control her emotions. Perhaps the guilt of hiding something important from him was too much for her.
Arjun gazed at her for a few seconds, her unusual behaviour was indicating something that he had experienced before too.
Suddenly something struck him, she has changed a lot. Her face is getting more glorious, her curves have become a little chubby. Not to forget her weird food habits, she has started to drink green tea instead of coffee. And her cravings for him were all strange.
" Priya, lastly when you had periods ? " Arjun asked without wasting a minute.
Priya was startled by his question.
" Priya , I'm waiting for your answer " Arjun sounded serious which terrored her.
" Arjun.......i......i was about to tell.....yo.....you.......i...uhmm " priya shuddered while stealing a glance at him.
" You what ? " Arjun got up from bed taking priya in his lap, Which made her straddling him.
Priya held his t-shirt colour for support, his demanding auor was difficult to handle for priya.
She is scared.
Taking a few long breaths Priya closed her eyes where Arjun's eyes were stuck on her.
" I'm five weeks pregnant, i knew it for the last two weeks " priya said in one go and opened her eyes only to meet Arjun's sharp gaze.
" Come again ? "
" I'm five weeks pregnant Arjun " this time priya didn't dare to look at him.
She has messed up.
" Five weeks ? And you know this for two weeks yet you didn't find it important to tell me. May I know why ? " Arjun tried his best not to yell at her and control his anger.
He didn't want to say or do something out of anger which he will regret later.
" I was scared Arjun, I thought what if ....... " Before she could say anything Arjun cut her off and spoke " You thought I'm going to hurt our own baby ?"
Priya was shocked to hear him, putting her palm over his mouth and she cried out loud.
" Noo..... that's not what i meant. I was scared of what would happen if something happened like last time. I don't want to lose our baby......... not again. " she cried out and crushed him with a tight hug.
At a point her fear is right though, Arjun's anger softened understanding her fear. Cherishing her back he smoothed sweet words in her ear.
After a few minutes of pampering, Priya stopped crying.
They both realised, it's good news for them. Why waste it by thinking in a negative way which is never gonna happen ?
" Priya I'm happy for us, but upset with you. How can you hide such a big news from me ?Where are you planning to hide this from me forever ? Arjun asked her with a fake anger.
" I'm sorry, I was confused and scared that i was totally clueless about what to do next " priya spoke against his chest playing with his fingers.
" How and when did you find out ? " Arjun questioned her to gather more details.
" Before two weeks ago, I threw up again and again at the office. Jackline suggested that I should visit gyno. I didn't want to bother you so I went by myself. There I came to know that I'm already three weeks pregnant. I was so happy and excited to tell you this. But again those past events occupied my mind and I ended up hiding it from you. " Priya told him everything.
Arjun laid down on bed, still priya over him. Their heart and soul was content with happiness. All these days they were happy, but a strange feeling of missing something was always bothering them. But now they are blessed with a bundle of joy.
This time no one can snatch their bundle of joy, not even god, after all he is the one who gave this joy to them. Then how can he snatch it back ? No he won't.
Few minutes none of them spoke anything, a comfortable silence surrounded them.
" Priya, as much as I remember , I have used protection every time....you know....... then how....see... don't overthink I'm just asking ok ? " Arjun voiced out his doubt, it was true. He didn't want to get himself. I'm something for which he or she isn't ready so he made sure every time he wears protection before doing something with her as pills were forbidden for priya.
Priya lifted her head up and gave him a glare " idiot, torned condoms can be a reason too " saying that she smacked him.
Arjun made an 'o' shaped mouth and agreed to her. Well, he's subconscious mind also said the same to him, still he wanted to hear it from her.
" So, what did the doctors say ? " Arjun asked her.
" I'm fit and fine, totally healthy to carry twins, " priya said, biting her lips.
" Hmm good " Arjun casually hummed for what she said. But after a few seconds his eyes widened in surprise, realising what she said.
" What ? Twins ? ? " His eyes were sparkling with joy and happiness.
Priya giggled and nodded at him with a shy smile.
" Omg.....omg.....omg.......we are going to be parents for twins ? " Arjun literally shouted in excitement.
God might snatch one thing from you, but be ready to get the double amount of whatever he took from you. Trust him, he knows what is better for you.
" Priya you made me so happy, no...you made me the happiest man. Thank you thank you soooo much. I'm really blessed to get a lover like you, to get a wife like you, and now the mother of my children. Love you so much " Arjun kissed her forehead which is his favourite place to kiss whenever he is really happy.
Priya smiled and mumbled " here I'm the lucky one Arjun, to get you as my man, as my lover, my husband and now the father of my children. " She spoke and placed a few kisses all over his face.
" Love you " both said at the same time and giggled at their act.
