"Ma...Ma...Ma" Dayjah said shaking me
"Huh" I mumbled
"Tay spilled his juice"
"It's 7:00am how did he get some juice"
"He was thirsty so I poured him some"
I sighed and sat up
"Y'all got caprisuns, why did you have to pour him juice"
"He said he wanted juice in a cup, so I put it in a cup for him... and he spilled it"
I walked in the kitchen and seen my step son I guess you can say sitting on the floor next to the puddle of juice
"Boy now you know you gotta drink outta sippie cup" I said wetting a rag and wiping up the juice
I cleaned him off, then took him back in his room
By this time it was 7:30 so I just figured I'd get ready for my day
I had a client at 9:30am and today I had to take the kids to daycare and school
It had been 3 years since me and Von broke up
And life's been good asf
I'm 21 now, Dayjah 4 and grown as hell
A few months after me and Von broke up, I met this boy Treyvion
At the time I wasn't saying fuck niggas but at the same time I wasn't looking for no relationship
But he stuck around and waited until I was ready
He got a 3 year old son named Taylin
The mom thought having Trey baby would keep him, but once she found out he wanted to be with me
She dropped the baby off on his door step and disappeared basically
He didn't know shit about raising a child at first, so I stepped up and became that baby mom
That's one of the biggest reasons we got together
Von use to practically take care of me, so when he left I needed money
I honestly didn't know what I wanted to do, job wise
Trey somehow convinced me to really started taking hair more seriously
At first people was only coming because I was "king Von baby mama/ Ex"
But after mothafuckas stopped sleeping on me and realized I could really do hair
I built my clientele up, I wasn't no Arrogant Tae
But I had my name out there a little
Von old ass was now 30 and ended up getting engaged and having a kid
When I heard he engaged I damn near fell out
Where tf was this energy with me
But after he moved out to LA I hadn't seen him
I talked to him on Dayjah birthdays and whenever he'll fly her out there with his mom but that was about it
It wasn't any beef or nothing like that, we just ain't talk
"TREY 5 MINUTES OR YOU DROPPING THEM OFF!" I yelled from downstairs
As I waited for them I peeped how cute I looked And felt like taking pictures today
I never use to take pictures, the only pictures that use to be on my Instagram were of Dayjah
I'd post like a boomerang on my story every once and a while but always deleted it in a few hours
Now, I wouldn't say I was always posting myself on there
But I was doing it a lot more

After i dropped Taylin off to daycare and Dayjah off at preschool I headed to the shop
I had 1 client coming in at 9:30 and all she wanted was 4 feed in braids
The rest were scheduled for later
So I already know Ima get a 2 hour nap in
Once I got to the shop, my best friend Nyla came in soon after
She did nails right next door, so whenever she wasn't doing nails she was bothering my ass
I know I had a horrible history with having friends
But we had a lot in common so we kind of automatically connected
The first time we went out to eat with each other, I let it be known I'm to old to be dealing with fake friends, Yes king Von is my baby daddy, and yes I will beat yo ass if you try some snake shit
After she let me know she understood, 3 years later we still the best of friends
"Who hair you doing" she asked sitting down and handing me a water
"Some girl, she said she needed it early as possible"
She just nodded
I pre paired the hair, and a few moments later the client walked in
She look familiar, I just couldn't put my finger on where I knew her from though
"Hey girl thanks for getting me in so early, my boyfriend got a event out here tonight and I needed my hair done asap"
"Girl you welcome"
Me and Nyla just looked at each other and smiled
Being a hairstylist, you find out all the tea
Who fucking who, who broke, who dead, everything
I know shit about people who stay in Detroit and I ain't never even been
After I was finished she handed me $100
"My man paying, do you have change?"

I looked at Nyla and she just shook her head no
"I think I got money in my car"
I went outside and as I unlocked the door somebody yelled out my name
I turned around and seen a hellcat
I ain't have no rich friends, so they couldn't he talking to this Jayla
I continued looking for the money when I heard it again
I looked up this time seeing Von getting out the car
My heart dropped, and I got nervous as hell
As I said before I barely even talked to this man, let alone physically see him in like 2 years
I was damn near speechless
"Damn Wassup Jayla" he said pulling me into a hug
