You woke up rather early. Or rather you didn't sleep at all. You kept tossing and turning through the night. The decaying of your organs caused you much discomfort.

You threw up quite a bit a blood through the night. By the time you knew it, it was already 5:19 in the morning.

You had done your morning routine. You picked out clothes for the day. A simple shirt and sweats. What caught your eye was when you were taking off your shirt you noticed black on the right side of your back.

It was the size of a tennis ball and it looked quite nasty. You knew it was the decay eating away at you.

By 5:37 you were outside waiting for the sun to rise. You didn't feel like eating just yet.

"Y/n! There you are!" You faced the direction the shouting was coming from.

"Kaminari? Is something wrong?" You asked as the boy grabbed onto your shirt. When he looked up at you he was crying.

He was crying so much snot started to come from his nose. He kept trying to calm himself but he just couldn't.

"Kaminari, what's wrong?" You spoke softly.

"You were there and I was there. We were all there. A-And you said that it, it was terrifying I-I couldn't sleep. When I woke-"

"Denki!" You yelled as you grabbed him.

"Calm down and tell me what happened."

"I had a-a dream where you told us it got bad and, and we got all sad. Y-you said you were going to die so we spent all the time we could together and when the time came... we,we." Was all Denki managed to say before he broke down in tears.

"Please y/n. Tell me it was all just a dream and you're not going to die." He begged. You hugged him.

You took a deep breath before speaking the following words...

"It was just a dream, Denki. I'm still here."

You hugged Denki even tighter. He hugged you just as tight. He was leaving all his snot and tears on your shirt.

You lied again.

Though it wasn't necessarily a lie. You just told him it was just a dream which was true. You didn't tell him that you weren't going to die. You just said you were still there.

"Tell me you aren't going to die, please."

or so you thought. You were going to have to lie again. You didn't want too but you had too.

"I'm not going to die." You lied.

You wanted to cry. You wanted to cry so badly. You wanted it to be the truth so bad. You didn't want to die just yet.

You wanted to live a long life.

You wanted to live until you were old telling stories to your grandchildren or kids who wanted to hear your stories.

You wanted to be one of those old people who baked desserts for their grandchildren.

You wanted to be one of those old people who sat on the bench feeding pigeons or just reading a newspaper.

You wanted to be one of those old people who'd complain to the youth about their ways.

You wanted to be one of those old people who lived their lives.

You wanted to be one of those old people who grew old with a smile on their face.

You wanted to be one of those old people who were happy being old.

You just wanted to grow old with your friends.

You just wanted to grow old.

It didn't matter what you wanted. The universe didn't care what you wanted. It only wanted you in pain and suffering. You'd never get what you wanted.

Truth was you were going to die and there was nothing you could do stop it. It was what fate decided for you. This fate was absolute. You couldn't change a thing no matter how hard you tried.

You could keep wishing, keep believing that some how you'd live. The world was cruel that way. You'd suffer till your last breath.

"Denki you don't have to cry anymore. I'm not going to die." You said putting your hands on his face.

He lifted his face just as the sun started rising. You smiled at him. You wiped his tears.

"It's okay." You lied once more. It was not okay.

"Yeah, your right. It is okay." He said wiping his boogers on his sleeve.

He smiled at you. He gave that goofy smile he always had on but except this one looked more child like. The sun hit just right across his face.

His golden eyes turned into a much more golden color like gold it's self. He looked so full of life. The sun made him glow. Brighter than he usually was. Quite enchanting.
He looked beautiful.

"I got to change. I have your boogers all over my shirt." You laughed.

"Sorry." He laughed. You patted his head before walking away to your dorm. You could hear a few students of 1-A waking up. Once you walked in you get the need to cough.

You allowed your self to cough and once again you spat up blood. You washed it off. You got out a new shirt to replace your snot filled one.

As you looked in the mirror where the black spot was. It had gotten slightly bigger. When you touched it, it burned. You didn't touch it anymore. Once you put on your shirt you went back downstairs.

Denki had gone back to his room after you lied to him. Though he didn't think it was a lie. He though you were telling the truth.

You decided to go for a walk to clear your mind.

"Oh good morning y/n!" You heard. You turned around and found Midoriya running towards you.

"Good morning Midoriya!" You said in a happy tone.

"I never thought I'd see you out this early in the morning." He said as stopped next to you.

"Couldn't sleep." You replied.

"Oh that's weird. Usually your the first to fall asleep and the last to wake up." He said.

"That was because of all the treatment and medication I was on." You explained.

"That makes sense. I was so happy when you told us that you were all better now and you're all healthy." Midoriya spoke softly.

The sun hit his face so perfectly. The way the sun hit his face was just...beautiful. His eyes looked so beautiful. They had a dark emerald color to them. His freckles appeared more.

"You know I was having a hard time with training my quirk and being worried about you. I kept getting so frustrated but when you said you no longer need treatment I got a moment of clarity. Like I could let myself relax." Midoriya spoke.

"I'm happy to see you all are at ease now that I'm okay."

"Yeah. Now we're all happy your okay." he said smiling.

Man did his smile hurt you. He had that same comforting smile he always had on. His smile was also child-like.

"Lets go inside Midoriya. I think you've trained enough for now."

He nodded. The two of you walked back to the dorms. You felt a sense of discomfort but pushed it away. As The two of you entered the rest of 1-A had already woken up.

When you checked your phone it was already 7:07. It had already been more than 2 hours since you woke up.

"Good Morning Everyone!" you called out, waving your hand in the air.

"Good Morning!" they exclaimed back. You walked into the kitchen.

"Have you guys eaten?" You asked. They all nodded.

"How about we play a little game." You said as you got the other half of a bagel that had already been toasted.

"Hey that was mine." Denki complained. You stuck your tongue out. He pouted.

"What game?" Momo asked.

"Hide-n-seek." You replied.

"Sounds fun!" Uraraka yelled.

"I can win at this game!" Hagakure yelled.

"No quirks. You have to wear clothes." You said to her.

"Aww." She said.

"What the hell are you losers talking about?" Bakugou grumbled as he walked in.

"We're gonna play hide n seek! You gotta play!" Denki said.

"That's sounds stupid." He said.

"I bet I'm a better seeker than you." You replied.

"Don't care. I'm not going to play some game." He replied. You walked over to him.

"I'll tell everyone you hugged me last night." You whispered to him in his ear.

"Fine I'm in. I'll be the best seeker. 5 minutes." He said. Everyone smiled before running out.

You ran and hid in the kitchen cabinet that had been vacant for the time being. You could see Tokoyami climbing into the cabinet across from you. He left it opened just a little bit for light to go in.

5 minutes went rather quickly. There was a faint giggle or laughed every minute or so. Everyone could here Bakugou yelling.

"Come out come out where ever you are!" Bakugou yelled loudly. Another laugh was heard. It sounded to be Denki.

It was 4 minutes when you all heard Denki scream.

"Found you!" Bakugou yelled. Snickers we're heard all through the dorms. It was only a few seconds before everyone heard Mineta scream.

"Found you small fry!" Bakugou yelled. You could hear the shuffling of footsteps that belonged to Mineta running away from Bakugou.

You could hear the girls snickering. He ended up getting caught up in matter of minutes because of his short legs.

"Raccoon eyes!" Bakugou yelled causing Mina to scream. A few of the boys snickered.

Time went on. Bakugou found mostly everyone. He was only missing you tokoyami hagurake and Jirou.

A minute later Jirou screamed. You could hear Bakugou walking your way. You covered your mouth. You could see from the small crack that he stopped just in front of the cabinet where Tokoyami was.

"Found you." He said. You watched as Tokoyami climbed out of the cabinet. He walked away. You could see Bakugou walking around the kitchen before he stopped just in front of the cabinet.

He squatted down before opening the cabinet.

"Found you dumbass." He said smiling. It was a genuine smile. Quite rare. You heart couldn't help but ache. While they were smiling you were dying.

He reached out his hand and you grabbed it. He pulled you out. It hurt when he pulled you out. Your back had brushed against inside of the cabinet. Your back burned when it hit the top of the cabinet. You couldn't wince or else Bakugou would be able to tell.

Once you got out of the Cabinet Bakugou walked away leaving you in the Kitchen by yourself.

You just looked around before walking to the doorway. You stood in the doorway between the kitchen and the common rooms to find Bakugou fuming while holding Hagakure.

"She cheated!" He yelled.

"I still have my clothes on so no I didn't!" She yelled back.

"That doesn't explain how your a good hider!"

"I've been playing hide-n-seek since I was 6 while wearing hot pink and a flashlight." She responded.

Laughter erupted from the students of 1-A. You smiled at the fun they were having. You didn't want to think of anything else. They were the only things you wanted to think of.

The rest of the morning was filled with laughter. Everyone took turns to finding each other. When it came down to who'd cook lunch and dinner was decided by a series of games concerning hide-n-seek.

It was who ever was the quickest to be found. Denki, Bakugou, and Uraraka were the quickest to be found after several games.

When lunch came around those three managed to work together and make good food.

"You know what this is actually pretty good." You said eating what they made.

"Yeah the ramen actually taste good!" Jirou spoke with food in her mouth.

"Don't speak with your mouth full." Bakugou spoke earning a shrug from Jirou. You finished your ramen before leaving the table.

"Where you going y/n?" Momo asked.

"I'm just going to my dorm. I'll be right back." You replied. You walked away from the class.

Once you entered the hall where your dorm was you started coughing. You tried keeping it in. You kept leaning against the wall to enter your dorm.

When you opened the door you fell to the ground coughing. Your throat was stinging and so was your chest. It hurt you so much to cough. You manage to close the door.

You tried holding your cough I'm but it only made it worse. When the coughing finally stopped you took deep breaths.

You had been on all fours breathing the best you could. When you looked down at your hand black was seen. You threw up the decay. There were a few red spots showing your blood.

You stood up as best as you could and made your way into the restroom. You leaned over the sink and stared at yourself in the mirror.

It looked as if all life had been drained from your face. Black with a mixture of red dripped from the side of your mouth.

You turned on the facet and let the water run. You out your hand under the water and let the decay wash off your hand. It looked disgusting.

de·cay
/dəˈkā/

noun
The state or process of rotting or decomposition.

To think that was the reason you were dying. To think that was the very thing that would take you away from your friends.

"This world is unbelievably cruel."

As you went back to your friends you found them laughing. They looked so happy. Something you wish would last forever for them.

"What's so funny?" You asked.

"Hagakure's telling us stories from playing hide-n-seek." Tsu spoke.

"Continue." You spoke finding a seat on the couch. She then continued to talk about her hide-n-seek games. Apparently they put lights on her and she still managed to hide.

Time flew a little two quickly because before you knew it Iida was yelling for everyone to go to sleep.

"Goodnight y/n!" They all called out before going to their dorms.

"Goodnight guys." You spoke. They didn't hear you for they had already left the common room leaving you alone.

You sat on the couch looking at the windows. You noticed the stars in the night sky. You left the couch slightly wincing. You walked outside.

You felt the cold breeze that came with the night. You looked up to find the stars out alongside the moon.

"I guess your not lonely tonight. We can't be lonely together huh?" You spoke to the moon.

You didn't know why but you just felt like talking to the moon. There was no one else you could talk to.

You sat down on the steps. Your breathing slowed a little bit. You were tired. You gazed lifted from the ground to the night sky.

"Weird. You used to go to sleep before everyone, now your the last one to sleep."

You didn't even have to turn around and see who it was. You already recognized who it was.

"I would've thought you would've been sleeping Todoroki." You replied. Your gaze didn't leave the night sky.

"Iida said I couldn't drink his juice boxes anymore so I went to get one." You let an airy laugh out. He sat next to you.

"I have an extra." He said handing it to you. You smiled before taking it.

"Thank you." You thanked him before putting the straw in the hole.

"Why are you up?" He asked.

"Now that I'm taking any medication or treatment I'm not as tired as before."

"Is that bad?"

"No, not all. I get to experience the night more now." You replied.

"Y/n what would've happened if you didn't meet us?"

"Well Todoroki, I would've died long time ago."

He was quiet. As if processing your words.

"Is that true?" He asked.

"Yes it is. I was planning on letting myself die a week after school started."

"Oh..."

"Yeah..."

To think you were actually going to let yourself after high school started. You were dead set on dying after the first week of school. You wanted to experience high school for a couple days before giving up.

Doctors tried convincing you along with other patients. There was also a few strangers who believed you shouldn't let yourself die.

But then you met them.
Like the heroes they are, they saved you.

Quite cheesy but if it weren't for them you would've been gone long ago. You wouldn't be talking Todoroki right now.

Nor would you be going through the pain of leaving them behind.

"Would you really have died?" He asked quietly.

"I had already stopped taking my treatments and medication a month before so it got bad. I was in pain with every step I took." Sort of how you were now.

"Can you describe what it was like?" Todoroki asked.

"Why do you want to know? It'll just be describing what it's like to slowly die." You spoke.

"Because when you know more about a person the more you can understand them." He said. You smiled before facing him.

"At first it was my skin that started to decay. It would eat away at my skin then at my muscle. It was slow so when I stopped doing the treatments it never got bad to the point where it would kill me. It would just hurt every time I moved. "

He looked at you for a moment. He started thinking about it.

"I remember there were days it got so bad I didn't want to move at all and I was crying the entire time." You'd spoke recalling the memories of those days.

"I'm just glad you don't have to go through that anymore y/n." He said thankfully. You saw him smile as he faced the moon.

His eyes had the reflection of the moon. It went well with his grey right eye. All though from what you could tell from his left it had the reflection of the stars.

Sort of matching the dual tones of the boy. The stars reflecting in his turquoise left eye. While the moon reflected in his right dark grey eye. The moonlight shined across his face complimenting his features. He looked quite beautiful.

You wanted to smile him but didn't have the heart to. Not anymore. You were just tired. Tired of lying to them. You hated the thought of them thinking you were okay when you weren't. But you still smiled at him.

"yeah..."

Todoroki finished his juice box. After he got up he started walking away. He stopped before facing you.

"Goodnight. Sleep well y/n." He said before walking inside.

"Goodnight Todoroki." You said barely above a whispered. He wouldn't have heard you as he had already walking inside.

"Sleep well huh." You said repeating his wounds as you looked at the sky. As if telling the moon and the stars of what he said.

"I'll try, Shoto. I'll try my best to sleep well tonight." You'd said solemnly giving a sad smile to the night sky.

Sleep no longer came easily to you.

Plagued by the decay forcing you stay awake in constant pain. You could no longer sleep peacefully knowing you were fated to die in a few days.

Truth was you didn't want to sleep. You were afraid that once you fell asleep you'd never wake up again leaving your friends you find you there lifeless. Only to think you were sleeping peacefully.

You started crying. How could you not?

All you could think about was how you were going to die. You would take away there happiness that you were so lucky to witness.

As you returned to your dorm from outside you continued to cry. Tears silently flowing down your face. You didn't do you nightly routine finding it irrelevant now with current events.

You just laid in your bed and faced the ceiling. There was no point in trying to sleep. It just would not come to you anymore.

"I don't want to die. I don't want to. I can't. Please just a little more time. I want to spend a little more time with them."

You voice was barely a whisper. Hoping someone would hear your prayers. You faced the clock that stood on the nightstand next to your bed.

11:59.

"Just one more minute then it's official."

12:00

You faced the ceiling wincing at pain in your back. You closed your eyes in hopes of sleeping.

It was official.
