"Tonight's top story is that a strange, almost out of nowhere fire started in Brookfield Heights today was stopped not by the National City Fire Department, but by something even better. Or I suppose I should say someone. Looks like Superman might have some competition as today a mysterious blonde woman appeared out of nowhere bearing the same symbol on her chest as him and also displaying very similar powers as him. Our exclusive amatuer footage clearly shows this mystery woman displaying the powers of the man of steel putting out the fire and saving countless innocent lives." a news reporter said on TV as Kara and Mon-El sat on the couch of their loft drinking champagne to celebrate Kara's return as Supergirl.

"So, how did it feel to suit up again today?" Mon-El asked his girlfriend as they drank.

"Very overdue. Being out there again, helping people, I feel complete again." Kara said.

"I know that look. What's going through that head of your's?" Mon-El asked.

"I don't know, but my gut is telling me that the fire was not an accident. Someone set it on purpose, I just don't know why." Kara said.

"Tell you what. I will see if I can get my hands on the forensic reports regarding the fire tomorrow when I get to the precinct and get a copy of them to you, since if there is something suspicious about those fires, we'll find out what they are before anything else happens." Mon-El said and Kara nodded as they continued watching the news report.

"I don't know who she is or where she came from, but I do hope that it's the same place he came from. But regardless, I am very thankful that she decided to make an appearance today, since without her, things would've gone very differently for everyone." the fire chief said as the interview switched back to the main screen.

"A sentiment I'm sure a lot of people in this city, myself included, share, since honestly, I think that if this new woman, whoever she is is here to stay, then we are in much safer hands. Of course, that leaves a ton of questions, most prominent being who is she, where has she been and why did she decide to reveal herself now." the anchor asked.

"I'm guessing you'll be answering that question in your article tomorrow? Still can't believe that you and your cousin write stories based on your exploits as Supergirl and Superman." Mon-El said, now giving his girlfriend a hard time.

"Hey, superheroes sell, which means that being the sole provider of Supergirl information will make me a lot of money. I'm not just a reporter in this universe, I'm also a business woman." Kara said.

"I know. And I find it all incredibly sexy." Mon-El said with a smile, which Kara returned before setting down her glass, climbing on top of him and kissing him.

Across town in a storage locker, another person was watching the same broadcast.

"It appears that the theatrics I used to cover my actions had an unexpected result." the man said as he looked over at the laser guillotine that he'd used to behead the alien he'd pulled from that building before setting the fire to cover his tracks and make it impossible for them to determine who the victim was.

"I'll definitely need to keep an eye on her. Especially if she is who I think she is. Alura's daughter could be a very valuable ally to the Master Jailer." Carl Draper said as he turned to his armor, thinking that it was time to go hunting again.

"Does this development worry you?" Non asked Astra as they observed the footage of what had to be Kara debuting as a hero.

"Why would it?" Astra asked, trying to keep the joy at the prospect of her niece surviving from showing.

"This is clearly your niece we are talking about. I want to make sure that you won't be conflicted about fighting her." Non said.

"Kara is not her mother. She can be made to see reason. She will support us." Astra said confidently.

"And if she can't? You would allow her to live and pose a threat to Myriad?" Non asked.

"If she shares her mother's flaws, then I will handle it myself. If anyone else should lay a finger on her without my permission, even you Non, then they will face my wrath." Astra said, making it clear that this was not a threat, but a promise and Non knew his wife better than to try to talk her out of it.

"I just want to make sure that she won't shake your commitment to our cause." Non said.

"I would rather die than let this planet share Krypton's fate knowing that I could save it." Astra said and Non nodded, accepting that answer before walking away.

"Oh little one, why couldn't you just stay hidden." Astra said as she watched her niece in action, her heart aching at the thought of having to actually fight Kara, since honestly, her niece was the only person on this planet that she genuinely cared about and loved. And if she was honest with herself and she'd never admit this to Non, but if Kara asked her too, Astra may even be willing to reconsider Myriad. Though she hoped that would not be the case and that she could get her niece to see that her way was the only way to ensure the survival of Earth and its people.

"Okay J'onn, why did you want us to meet you here this morning before we all got to work?" Kara asked as she, Alex, Mon-El, Lena and Winn met J'onn outside an abandoned building.

"Because I know that while you have Lena and Winn working on a more permanent base for you above your office Kara, but considering everything you'll need, that will take time. Especially considering all the variables that you need to take into consideration." J'onn said.

"That's true. We're still in the design phase and you haven't even begun to weigh in yet." Winn said and J'onn nodded.

"So, I thought in the meantime, the Superfriends could use a temporary place to operate out of and since you won't operate out of the DEO, for good reason." J'onn said.

"Plus, the DEO isn't exactly equipped to be a vigilante base." Alex pointed out.

"Anyways, I thought that you could use an off the books and defunct DEO base for the time being. It's still usable, just no longer in operation due to the new headquarters we built in National City." J'onn said.

"Let's see it." Kara said as J'onn nodded before unlocking the door to reveal a relatively well stocked DEO base.

"Not exactly a dream come true scenario." Winn said as he blew some dust off a table.

"It'll serve its purpose until you and Lena finish the Tower." Kara said.

"The what?" Lena asked.

"That's what I decided to call the base you two are building. The Tower." Kara said.

"I like it." Winn said.

"So do I." Mon-El said.

"I think we all do. But I agree with Kara that while this place may not be ideal, it'll serve the purpose we need it too until the Tower is ready." Alex agreed.

"It's got everything you need. A lab, training area, armory. Honestly you could use this place as your permanent base." J'onn said.

"Except it would draw unneeded attention. We should be good for a few weeks, but for anymore than that will draw unwanted suspicion on us." Kara said.

"Anyways, onto new business, I got those files you asked me for." Mon-El said as he reached into his jacket pocket and handed Kara the files.

"What is that?" Alex asked.

"The Fire Marshal's reports regarding the fire yesterday. My gut is telling me that it wasn't an accident, so, one of the perks of having a boyfriend in the police is that he got me the reports regarding it." Kara said as she pecked Mon-El's cheek real quickly before looking through the report.

"Any particular reason?" Winn asked.

"Because this reminds me a lot of how I revealed myself to the world the first time around. An accident that wasn't really an accident. Alex's plane was sabotaged." Kara said.

"By your aunt's army who wanted to take me and a few other DEO agents out." Alex said.

"I know, but still, if there's one thing I've learned over the years it's to trust my gut and my gut is telling me that there's more to this fire than we think. I want to rule everything out." Kara said.

"And are you seeing anything?" Alex asked.

"Nothing out of the ordinary, or at least, nothing that points to anything alien, but I still don't think that this is the end of it." Kara said as she placed the file on the table for the rest of them read.

"I think that Kara might be onto something here." Lena said.

"Yeah, I agree. The pieces are all fitting into place a little too perfectly for my liking." Alex said.

"We're of the same mind." Kara said.

"So, looks like you've got your first non Supergirl story." Winn said.

"Yeah. Now I just need to figure out how all the pieces really fit together." Kara said.

"You'll figure it out. You always do." Alex said.

"I know. But I really wish Nia was here, since I could use another set of reporter's eyes on this." Kara said.

"She'll be along soon enough. I did restore her memories when I found her Parthas, but she had a few things she needed to take care of first before she could move to National City." J'onn said.

"Good." Kara said.

"Did you find anyone else?" Alex asked and J'onn smiled, knowing who she was talking about, especially as they heard someone else enter the building.

"Why don't you turn around and find out." Kelly Olsen said with a grin as Alex whirled around and rushed up to her and quickly engaged Kelly in a kiss that could only described as them getting back together.

"When did you get in town?" Alex asked.

"This morning and the reason why I wasn't here is because I was unloading my stuff into your place, since I figured you wouldn't mind." Kelly said.

"You thought right." Alex said and Kara smiled, since now Alex knew how she felt when she discovered that she and Mon-El were reunited as well.

"Okay guys, this has been nice, but let's get to work." Kara said and they all nodded as they all headed out to their respective jobs.
