Axarii's POV
After Christina and I finished our chat. With Xavier still in our conversation, giving me no personal space, we went to go look for the kids.
It didn't take that long for us to find them, they were running around outside with Delilah chasing after them, Ivory watching while she sat on the bench. She didn't seem to notice us until I sat next to her.
"Oh my goodness! You're back!" She exclaimed excitingly. I smiled at her in response, her soon pulling me towards her for a brief hug.
"How are you?" She asked, the tone of her voice telling me that she already knew what went down the other night. I bet Xavier had something to do with that. Or he told Christina who then told her.
"I've been better." Was all I could say at the moment.
Ivory nodded her head in response, sadness written all over her face. Christina excused herself before she went over to check up on her grandchildren.
"So... you don't have to but if you don't mind, could you tell me everything that went down?" She asked me. Although I didn't feel like explaining what happened at that club again I told her anyway.
After I finished telling her just about everything I could tell she was beginning to get upset. "I just don't understand... even if he did all of that because of his hatred towards my stupid brother, that still doesn't give him the right to do that to you. He knew how much you guys loved each other yet that still didn't stop him, how cruel!" She said, ignoring the fact that Xavier was right behind her.
"Ouch! Why did you do that?" She hissed out when he smacked the back of her head.
"Don't start calling me stupid as if you the smartest person in the world." He replied back.
Ivory then snorted before saying, "Well at least I'm smart enough to ask questions before going off and divorcing people for shit that's obviously fake."
I ended up choking on my spit as I tried stopping myself from laughing but it was too late. I honestly was not expecting that from her but how can I be so surprised? This is Ivory that we're talking about.
"Too bad we're still married." Of course he had to bring that up.
"Wait what?" Ivory asked, looking between the two of us in confusion.
"That's exactly what I said... apparently the divorce papers got shredded up by that dear best friend of his." I told her.
A small laugh escaped from me when she groaned out loudly. "That fucking bastard.. I swear I'm gonna kill him the next time I see him."
"Oh yeah, and guess what else she did?" Xavier asked all of a sudden, motioning towards me. What is he going on about now?
"Axarii thought it'd be nice to make out with her boss. Who's also Grayson fucking Santiago." He said, causing me to roll my eyes.
"Are you serious right now? Why does it even-" I began.
"Holy shit! You got to make out with him? Oh man you're one lucky bitch. Grayson is fine as hell." I stared at her in shock. What happened to the sweet little Ivory before I left?
"Ivory-" before Xavier could finish what he was about to say she held up a hand, stopping him.
"Don't even start. I don't care about the rivalry between his and our family. That shit was between his and our dad, we're not about to pass this down the family line as if it's some winning award!" She told him, him sighing out in annoyance.
After a few moments of silence I couldn't help but feel the thick tension the two siblings so I quickly excused myself before I walked over to where Christina and the kids were.
I couldn't help but smile when I saw both of my babies rushing towards me with huge smiles on their faces as I neared them. I then crouched down to where I was about their height, the two of them nearly tackling me to the ground.. luckily I managed to catch myself.
"Mommy!" Cole was the first to yell out, Reyna then running off behind me probably to go see Xavier. At times I feel like she doesn't even need me anymore.
I picked up Cole, him wrapping his arms around my neck. I ended up tickling him when I saw him trying to look so serious, him now laughing loudly. "M-mommy!" He squealed out while trying to get out of my grasp.
"Have you learned your lesson young man?" I teased, a serious expression plastered on my face. I watched in amusement how he tried hiding the smile, attempting to look sad.
"Yes.."
After a few seconds he calmed down before speaking out, "Mommy? Why didn't you come back home? Daddy was worried and I thought you were going to leave me." Cole muttered out, burying his face in the crook of my neck.
"Why did you do that? What would I have told Rey and Cole if their mother didn't come back home?"
Xavier's words from earlier replayed in my mind after Cole told me that. At first I didn't want to listen to Xavier because he's always trying to be so manipulative but hearing it from my own son who thought I left them.. I can't help but feel so guilty.
I lifted his head up, my heart aching even more when I saw the tears forming in his eyes. "Oh Cole.. I am so sorry I made you guys feel that way. I would never leave you I promise, you do believe me right?" I asked him, Cole quickly nodding his head before wiping the tears from his eyes.
There was a sudden tap on my shoulder. When I turned I saw Christina who smiled at the two of us. "I hate to interrupt but isn't there something you'd like to ask these two?" She asked.
We then walked over to Xavier and Reyna who were talking with Ivory, the two still fussing while Reyna stood there confused. After putting Cole down I crouched again so that I'd be closer to their height, Reyna walking towards us.
"I need you guys to listen to me for just a moment.. your uncle Winston and I got into a big fight and we may not see him for a while." I told them slowly.
"Or ever." I heard Xavier mutter out, earning a hard slap from Christina.
"Is uncle Winnie mad at us?" Reyna asked with a small frown on her face. I shook my head in response. "No, he's not mad at you guys sweetie.. there was just some things we didn't agree on."
From the looks of it Reyna wanted to cry but she was holding it back while Cole looked confused.
"So-" I began.
"Did he hurt mommy?" Cole asked, now looking at Xavier. I just don't understand how this boy always seems to know when I'm beating around the bush..
Xavier looked over at me before he turned back towards our son, walking closer. He then spoke as soon as he was crouched in front of him. "He said some things that hurt mommy's feelings." Was his response. Before I could say anything he continued.
"That doesn't mean you get mad at him. You two must learn how to be the bigger person, take control of the situation-"
"Xavier they're literally five-"
"You two are Knights. No matter the age you do not cry when it comes to the ones who betrayed you, who knew what they were doing, we stand up for ourselves and the people we love. I want my babies to be strong and live a happy life, don't let this bring you down. Your mommy and I don't know when or if you two will ever see him again." Xavier explained.
Wow.. he explained it so bluntly.
I looked over to Christina for help since he wasn't even listening to me at the moment but she looked amazed by something.
"It's okay if you two don't-" I began.
"Okay." Both Reyna and Cole said, cutting me off. Wait what?
A huge smiled formed onto Xavier's lips before he looked over at me. "So.. how do you guys feel about staying at my house?" He asked them, still looking at me.
I opened my mouth to say something but like always they had beaten me to it.
"YES!!"
A small sigh came from me.
Just greattt, this is why I didn't really want to do this. Christina already knew what their response was gonna be to that question, she practically pushed me in for a trap.
After I stood I made a move to move away from him but he was quick to catch on, wrapping his arms around me from behind, pulling me into his embrace. I could t help but roll my eyes when I heard him laughing silently.
"Looks like you stuck with me." He spoke out softly, causing me pushing him away.
"Stop touching me." I muttered out as I tried walking away again but failed.
"I love you." He suddenly spoke out, the tone of his voice telling me that he was serious. How can you go from being playful to serious that fast?
Although he couldn't see my face, I opened my mouth to say something but stopped myself.. I was lost for words.
What could I say to that?
I love you too?
It's too late for that.
I feel the same way?
Go to hell!
As I was stuck in my thoughts Xavier then turned me so that I was now facing him, making me even more nervous that he could see my face.
"I don't expect you to answer right now. Honestly, I would like it if you didn't say anything.. that way it'll be less of a chance where you'd say the words I'm not ready to hear." He explained.
He then cupped my face with his hands before he placed a small kiss on the temple of my forehead, staring at me with a look I couldn't really describe.
"I promise you.. I will not let anything happen to you or the kids, I'll protect you with my life and prove my worth of being their father and your husband." Was all he said.
...I guess now is not a good time to mention I wanted to actually get a divorce?

I finally decided to update (yayyy)
I'm finally out of school, so recently I've just been thinking about how I'm going to continue and end this story, all that stuff.
Pls let me know about grammar mistakes/ misspelling bc I be rushing at times
