My dislike of Fitz is very clear in this chapter...
What? Keefe already asked her? Shiitake mushrooms.
"You can always cancel on him" he suggested.
"WHAT?!?!?!"
"Did I say something wrong?"
"Yes. You did."
"What?"
"Why would I ever cancel on Keefe?"
"To go with me?"
Sophie's flutters she had felt when he asked her to go out disappeared, and her smile faded. Fitz seemed like he would do anything to have her.
"Of course it's not that" she said sarcastically "Of course I want to go with you, Mr Perfect"
"Well then why not cancel on Keefe then?" asked Fitz, not getting the sarcasm dripping from Sophie's voice so clearly.
"Because I want to go with him"
"But, but, but... Sophie! You said you wanted to go with me!"
"That, Mr Dumbo, was sarcasm"
Fitz was mad. Very mad. Why wouldn't Sophie go out with him?! Why wouldn't she want to be his girlfriend, when so many girls would happily take her place in a heartbeat? Anger clouded his mind, and he couldn't reason anymore. Couldn't see that Sophie truly loved Keefe.
"Why would you ever choose him rather than me?!" he shouted "Why That Boy who ran off to the Neverseen, blew up Foxfire, created the Great Gulon incident, when you could have the coolest guy ever?!"
Sophie felt like she had been slapped in the face.
"So what if I like Keefe?! It's not like YOU never made any mistakes!"
"You go to the ball with Keefe, you're a disgrace!"
"Why can't I go with Keefe?!"
"Because you can only go with me!"
"Why the hell do I have to go with you?!"
"Because you just do!"
"Why should I go with you when I can go with Keefe?!"
"Because he's terrible!"
"You're worse!"
"You're a monster!"
"Why are you acting like this?! Why can't you go with anyone else?!"
"Linh's going with Wylie, Biana's with Tam, and Marella's going with Dex!"
"So?! Fleur's been crushing on you since ever!"

And with that, Sophie turned on her heel and stormed away, barely holding back her tears.

Back at the girl's treehouse, Sophie was crying, and being comforted by Linh, Marella, and Biana.
"Hey Sophie, it's alright." said Linh.
"Linh's right. Keefe is such a better match for you." added Marella.
"Can we please not talk about matchmaking?" asked Sophie, still crying.
"Sure. All we're trying to say is-" Marella was interrupted by Biana.
"MY BROTHER IS A TOTAL IDIOT!!!!!!!!!!" she shrieked.
"Well, yeah"
"Hey Sophie, want to go shopping later?"
Sophie groaned. "If it's not shopping for clothes"
"Of course not, we can go to Hogsmeade!"
Sophie brightened up. "Sure thing!"
"Can we go to Honeydukes?"
"What's Honeydukes?"
"Only the best ever candy shop!"
"Okay, if we can go for some of that cheesy beer thing afterwards" said Linh.
"It's butterbeer. And we can definitely go!" cried Biana.
"Let's go!"
