Both teens blink at each other as they stand on opposite sides of the table. The surrounding volleyball players look between them in confusion.

"( Y/N ) !" The boy wails as he sprints around the table.

"AKIRA!" She shouts back, a bright smile on her face as the two of them collided into each other's arms. The other athletes watch the two jump around giddily while smiling brightly.

Atsumu and Osamu watched them in each other's arms, feeling in the dark as they saw her smile for the first time since she came back. Just who are you? Will I ever be able to make you smile like that? They both asked as they watch them with dead eyes.

Pulling away, ( Y/n ) looks up at her Tokyo friend with wide eyes.

"What the hell are you doing here?" She asks him with the most emotion she's felt since being in Tokyo.

"I could be asking you the same!" The so called Akira exclaims back with a grin.

As they continued to stare at each other, ( Y/n ) witnesses his eyes narrow, causing her to feel anxious.

"What? Do I have something on my face?" She asks, touching her cheeks with her fingertips only for Akira to chuckle at her, his hands on her shoulders.

"Nah, it's just odd seeing you with your hair down and with your glasses on in public." He reassured her, combing a hand through her hair. She sighs with relief before hearing someone clear their throat.

Looking to her side she's met with Osamu and Atsumu looking at them. Well the whole table was but that doesn't matter.

"Ya two know each other?" The fake blonde asks, arms crossed over his chest as everyone glances at the pair, asking the same thing.

The white haired boy wraps an arm over the girls shoulder, pulling her closer to him. Glancing at him, she wraps her own around his too.

"Well ( N/n )-chan here actually used to coa-" He began before having a hand slapped over his mouth. Looking at his female hand he raises an eyebrow in confusion.

"Don't tell them, I'm tryna keep a low profile remember?" She whispers in his ear, he nods in reply causing the girl to retract her hand to his shoulder as everyone glanced at her in confusion.

"As I was saying, ( N/n )-chan went to the same middle school as me in Tokyo!" He exclaims, pulling her closer to him once again, she nods at his statement, used to his clingy self.

Eyebrows raise all around the table especially her two brother's eyebrows. Before ( Y/n ) could say anything, she felt her hand being held and herself being pulled behind her friend.

"Come sit next to me, ( N/n )-chan. We have a lot to catch up on." Akira says excitedly as he drags her down the table, stopping across from Suna and Ginjima.

"Yo." She nods at them, a small smile clung to her mouth as she sat down. She earned greetings back from them, causing Akira to look at them with wide eyes.

"Y-you're friends with Suna-senpai?" He dramatically stuttered as he looks between them, earning confused looks from his upperclassman.

"Yeah? Why do you ask?" His female friend asks as she pulls out her two bentos. Akira swings his head down to the end of the table.

"Osamu-senpai!" He shouts, catching the attention of the calm boy along with most of the table.

"Why would you let ( N/n )-chan and Suna-senpai be friends?" He asks him, eyes wide with fear as everyone looks between him and the two said teenagers in confusion. Osamu only raises an eyebrow, asking him to elaborate.

"You realise that now these two are friends nobody is safe! They're gonna blackmail the living shit outta us!" He shouts at Osamu, pointing at the two of them, causing his female friend grin at Suna, who grinned back. Everyone at the table looked at the two grinned teens with wide eyes.

( Y/n ) then turned to Akira to 'lightly' slap the back of his head.

"Ow~ ( N/n )-chaaan." He whines as he clutches his head. Looking down at his seated friend who was wearing a blank face, she gestures for him to sit down, which he immediately did.

"Please refrain from shouting across the table Serinuma-kun." Kita blankly orders with a slight glare, causing Akira to stiffen up and nod.

"Heh, you act like you're talking to Seijuro." The tall girl snickers at his actions. He turns to her, giving her a pathetic glare.

"Who isn't scared of Akashi-kun?" He protests, spreading his arms out dramatically, causing ( Y/n ) to deadpan at his stupid question.

"Do you want my real answer, or do you want to feel better about yourself?" She asks with a blank face before pointing at herself. Serinuma gapes at her, no matter how many times she tells him she isn't scared of his cousins old friend, he's always in shock.

"You're just built different." He sighs, pulling out his bento box. She sassily nods in reply.

Saying their thanks, the two friends immediately dig into their food before the girl was interrupted by her friend beside her.

"So how's it going with you and Akaashi-senpai?" The white-haired boy asks, wiggling his eyebrows at her. The question causes her to stiffen up and turn to him with a harsh glare.

"Shut up." She blankly says, causing the surrounding boys to shiver and gape at her sudden mood swing. Akira only laughed.

"Cmon, everyone knows you two have something going on!" He exclaims, grinning at her. His statement catches many of the boys off guard.

Who the hell is Akaashi? Most of them aggressively ask themselves.

( Y/n ) facepalms before dragging that hand down her face. Gritting her teeth in frustration, she turns to glare at Akira.

"How many times do I have to tell you lot? We aren't a thing!" She yells at him, her head in her hands as she leans her elbows against the table.

"Are you sure? 'Cause you guys were looking awfully comfy in that photo from last time you and Bokuto-senpai had a sleepover." He provokes her once more. A hobby of his was getting under her skin, although he found it entertaining to piss her off, he still knew where the line not to cross was.

They had a sleepover?! Most boys around the table ask themselves in jealousy

"Where the hell did you get that photo?" ( Y/n ) asks with a strained smile, her eye twitching. Akira flinches when he felt her cold hand grip his jaw, slightly squeezing it. Many of the surrounding teenagers flinched and Aran even launched up out of seat, ready to hold ( Y/n ) back like the good old times.

"Would be a shame if I were to send half of your file to Suna-kun if you don't tell me who sent it to you." She threatens him, her grip on his jaw tightens as she smiles up at him with her eyes closed. If she wasn't gripping his chin, people from across the room would've thought she was being nice.

"IT WAS KONOHA-SENPAI!" He yelps out, hearing that it was one of her friends from her old high school made her eye twitch at an inhumanly speed as she released her grip on his jaw, rubbing it softly. How the hell did Konoha even get the photo? Whatever the answer was, He's so dead.

She passed the poor first year an onigiri in apology before they both went back to their food, shocking the volleyball players how casual they were about the whole situation.

"WAIT!" He shouts out loud, putting down his chopsticks. His yelling causes his female friend to give him a side glare. He turns to her, stars in his eyes and a beaming smile.

"If you attend Inarizaki, then that means your two new students you told us about are here too!" He exclaims with excitement, him not saying something stupid took ( Y/n ) by surprise.

"Yeah, we're having our first training after school, you can come meet them after practise if you want." She says, turning back to her food. Akira enthusiastically nodded before turning back to his own food.

Students? The surrounding boys couldn't help but eavesdrop on the pairs' conversation. They were such an odd duo, and clearly got on each other's nerves, yet they still managed to get along.

The volleyball team thought of Akira as some type of mystery. Although he was awfully whiny and childish, he was serious and an absolute beast on the court. Definitely ace material. He also had the ability to get along with everyone, no matter who they were.

"What do you mean by students?" They hear someone ask. Turning their heads, they're met with a now seated Ojiro.

( Y/n ) glances at Serinuma from the corner of her eye, he does the same, making eye contact. She sighs before deciding to just tell him.

"Basketball." She blankly replies, stuffing rice in her mouth. All the boys in front of her tilt their head in sync while Akira facepalms.

"I'm coaching two friends of mine." She slightly elaborates. It's just as well that Ojiro asked, or she most likely wouldn't have replied. After receiving nods from most players, she returns to her food.

"What do you think about Kuroko-kun's new light?" Akira asks after moment of silently eating. ( Y/n ) stops eating before turning to him, clear confusion painted on her face.

"Since when did Kuroko have a new light?" She asks, tilting her head. She felt a slight pang in her chest at the thought of being left in the dark.

Akira's eyes widen when he realised she didn't know, guilt began to settle into him. ( Y/n ) pulls out her phone when she's met with silence, her eye once more twitching in fury.

"That little shit, just wait till I get my hands around his pretty little neck." She mutters under her breath as she furiously types up his contact name in her phone.

May you, my dear friend, Kuroko Tetsuya, Kuroko-kun, please forgive me. It was nice knowing you, may you rest in peace. The younger boy prays, hands clasped together as the sun shines on him through the window.

Now calling: Violet Parr👨‍🦯👻

Her grip tightens on her phone as she glares harshly at her bento box. Suna and Ginjima felt sorry for the uneaten food. If they were being honest, it looked like her food would melt from how hard she was staring at it.

( N/n ), hi.

Heya Tetsuya

Akira flinches before scooting away from the girl. The only time she ever says their full names is if she's extremely happy, or angry.

Is everything ok?

When were you going to tell me about
this new light of yours?

Both teens on the call were somehow keeping their cool, well that's what it looked and sounded like.

But the black haired girl was fuming while the quiet boy on the other side of the phone was bracing for impact.

I- I didn't want to tell you.

It was barely a whisper, but ( Y/n ) heard it. Her frown deepened, not with anger but with confusion and slight sadness.

Why not?

A sigh was heard on the other side before her blue-haired friend spoke once more.

Sorry ( N/n ), I didn't want you knowing
because I thought you'd come
over to Tokyo to challenge him.

His reason causes ( Y/n ) 's eyes to slightly widen, before she brought the phone away from her ear, slightly looking at it in confusion.

She feels her glare cease, and a small smile takes over her mouth.

Ehhhhh
I wouldn't do that!

She tries to reason with the boy, only to be immediately shut down.

Yes you would.

You're all the way in Tokyo Tetsu-chan.
Besides I trust that you know what you're doing

She informs him, causing Akira and Kuroko's eyebrows to slightly raise. The boy on the other side of the phone softly smiles.

Thanks ( N/n ), sorry for not
telling you.

He simply apologises causing his female upperclassman to chuckle quietly.

No worries Tetsu-chan.
But remember you can tell me anything yeah?
Even though Riko's your current coach, I'm still someone you can ask for advice from.

Both teens on the phone softly smile, causing those around them to stare in shock or just simply admire them. However, the boy began to question his friends' relationship with his current coach.

A faint shout could be heard on his side of the phone causing Kuroko to quickly reply back.

Okay ( N/n ).
I've got to get going, I'll text you later.

Right. Take care, love you.

Love you too.

Both teens smile as they say the last lines before hanging up the call and turning off their cell phones. ( Y/n ) returns to her food with a flowery aura while Kuroko walks down the corridor to his classroom, following his tall red-haired friend.

Her soft smile causes the boys around her to question who was on the phone just now but they all decided to shrug it off as she turned to converse with the only first year at the table.

- ☹︎ -

Lunch went by smoothly with small conversations appearing between ( Y/n ) and the volleyball boys while she and Akira caught up. It was now the end of school and she was standing in the middle of the second gym, still in her school uniform while she waited for Kurihara and Nakamura to get changed.

As she was setting out the cones on the court, the squeak of the door causes her to put a halt to her actions. Turning around she's met with her two fellow basketball lovers.

Their eyes shone with determination as they made their way towards her.

"Bring it on coach!" They both shout, slightly bowing. ( Y/n ) felt a wave of nostalgia hit by being called coach again after so many years.

"Don't call me coach, we're the same year." She blankly says, despite enjoying being called coach, it sounded wrong coming from them.

After receiving an "okay" from both of the boys, she slips on a whistle and pulls out the stopwatch from her pocket.

"First activity today will be five laps around the school." She says, tying her hair into a low ponytail, being careful not to expose her neck.

Both boys feel the colour slightly drain from their faces upon hearing those words.

"F-five?" Kurihara yelps out, a sweat drop forming on the back of his head. ( Y/n ) looks dead into his eyes before turning away to make her way to the door.

"Yes five. I'm giving you a similar training as I did with the Generation of Miracles when I first began coaching them." She tells them, switching to her outdoor shoes as she sat on the doorstep.

Both boys felt a sudden rush of adrenaline flow through their bodies upon hearing those words. Following behind her, they make their way to the front of the school where she explained where to go and that she'd be timing them. Clutching her clipboard to her chest, the tall female blows her whistle and sends them off.

- ☹︎ -

Their practice was soon over after around about two hours of laps, discussing what they need to work on, footwork exercises, and shooting techniques.

She was now handing them their daily schedules, filled with morning or evening jogs, when to go to sleep or wake up and even suggestions on what to eat.

After she had handed them their papers, she sent them off to get changed while she packed up the gym.

Slipping the blue hoodie back on again, she heard the main door slide open. Standing there was the basketball coach. Both of them awkwardly blink at each other before the older male's eyes widen with realisation.

Oh my fucking god. Just go away. I'm not in the mood. She curses in her head, swiftly making her way towards her bag on the bench.

"Can I help you?" She asks, managing to keep her cool.

Why do I have to be the one who gets angry quickly? She looks up at the ceiling, sighing.

"PLEASE HELP ME COACH THE TEAM!" That was all she heard behind her. Flinching at the loud shout, she turns around to face the bowing man. A deep frown takes place on her mouth.

"No." She blankly says, turning back around to sling her bag over her back. The brown-haired man in front of her shot up from his bowing position, face full of shock.

"Why not?" He asks, slight anger could be heard in his voice but the girl ignored it. She grips the strap of her bag.

Why can't you just take no for an answer old man? Gritting her teeth she slowly begins to glare at him. Opening her mouth she was about to politely tell him to fuck off until the door to the changing rooms swung open and two extra voices filled the gym.

"Yo ( Y/n ), let's go!" Kurihara says, hands in his pockets as he struts in, a tired-looking Nakamura by his side. Both males turn to see the two coaches in front of each other.

"I'll meet you guys out the gate. I need to deal with something." ( Y/n ) replies in a low tone, raising her chin slightly while looking down at the coach.

Oop- she's pissed. Rip coach. Both boys think, internally smirking. If they were being honest, they didn't like him one bit. Even though Kurihara was one of his favourites, his coach still left out his friend. It pissed him off.

"Ok cya out there." Nakamura says, nodding before grabbing Kurihara's forearm and dragging him out the main door. ( Y/n ) turns back to the male in front of her.

"What's your name?" She asks firmly, establishing dominance in the conversation as she towered over him.

"Coach Takahashi." He says, faking confidence under the tall girl's stare.

"Well coach Takahashi, I'm not interested in coaching your team." She says, more politely than expected, shocking both of them.

"Why not?" He asks, he was less aggressively than last time but still pissed ( Y/n ) off.

"Because I don't want to. Don't push me. Just take no for an answer." She states, turning to the door, a deep scowl on her face.

"I'LL KEEP TRYIN' TILL YA AGREE!" He shouts at her back, halfway out the door.

( Y/n ) clenches her fists, clicking her middle finger by using her thumb before turning back around. Just shut up old man.

"I don't want to work alongside a boy who only focuses on a few of his pupils." She states before walking out the door.

"Oh by the way." She starts, popping her head in through the door, a threatening glare decorated her cold grey eyes.

"I hate persistent people. So give it up before I catch a damn case." She threatened him before walking away, leaving the older man standing in the middle of the court in shock and fear.

MEANWHILE:

Both basketball players stood by the gate, leaning against the brick wall as they waited for their friend.

"What do ya think will happen?" Nakamura asks, clutching the straps of both his sports and school bag on his shoulders.

"I don't know, hope nothin' bad happens though." Kurihara replies as he throws a smooth stone up into the air before catching it again.

"Kurihara-senpai!"

Both boys turn to the side to see a white-haired first year, four other volleyball stars following him from behind.

"What are you doing here? I thought you didn't have practice today?" The tanned boy asks Kurihara as he approaches him, now standing in front of them.

"Ah, we're waiting for a friend of ours." He says before Akira turns to Nakamura with a smile.

"Hi! My names Serinuma Akira. What's your name and pronouns?" Akira asks with a smile making the blonde instantly feel comfortable around him.

"N-nice to meet ya Serinuma-kun, I'm Nakamura H-haruki. I go by he/him." The blonde tells him softly, tracing circles on the ground with his foot before they start up a small conversation.

"Where's ( L/n )?" Ginjima asks Kurihara as he, Suna, Atsumu and Osamu take their place in front of them. Kurihara greets the four of them before answering Ginjima by telling them she's still in the gym.

"You know ( N/n )-chan?" Akira asks after the conversation between him and Nakamura had ended. Both boys stare at him in confusion.

Why is he calling her that? Are they close? Were two of the many questions flowing through their mind as they nodded. They saw the first years' face light up.

"You're her two new students aren't you!?" He asks, stars in his eyes as he brought his fists up to his face in excitement. Both boys nod in confusion, they thought she wanted to keep it on the low.

"Awesome!" The white-haired boy exclaims, it looked as if there were stars flying out of him.

"How d'ya know ( Y/n ) ?" Nakamura asks, tilting his head to the side as he stares up at the taller boy who turns to him.

"Oh. Me and ( N/n ) went to Teiko together!" He informed them with an unnecessary amount of energy. He was delighted to meet his idol's new students, and for one of them to be someone he already knew made him feel excited yet sorry for him.

"The two of ya's went to Teiko?!" Ginjima screeched as he stared at his junior in shock. His teammates looked at him in confusion for they hadn't heard of Teiko before. Pulling out his phone, Suna attempts to search up the famous middle school with terrible wifi, only for it to fail. Retracting his phone back into his pocket with a sigh he mentally notes to search it up later while Akira nods in reply to Ginjima's question, puffing his chest out with pride.

"Anyways, what's she even doin'? She's takin' a while." Osamu says, turning his head to look at their surroundings.

"Ah, she was talkin' to our teams' coach. She didn't look too happy though." Nakamura tells his fellow second years and his junior. He witnessed Akira's expression change, his eyes narrowed and his smile dropped into a small frown.

"Is he the persistent type?" He asks the blonde and ginger in front of him. All of the athletes around him were stunned to see the serious expression plastered to his face.

"Only if it's something he wants he'll get pushy." Kurihara finally spoke up, after thinking about it for a while. Akira's frown deepened once those words made contact with his ears.

He looks down at his feet, hand on his chin as he mutters under his breath, earning concerned glances from his seniors. He suddenly looks up and claps his hands once.

"I'm going to go check up on her." He blankly states, seriousness visible in his voice and eyes before he turned towards the gym. Only to sigh in relief when he sees a familiar figure approaching them from under the veranda.

"( N/n )-chan!" Akira sighs out, his shoulders relaxing and sagging forward. All the other boys turn her way, feeling relief wash over themselves as well upon seeing her. However, most of them tensed up again upon seeing a scowl presented on her facial features.

"Yo." She blankly replies, hands in the pockets of her as she marches towards them.

"Everything all good?" Ginjima asks, ignoring the bickering boys behind him. She gives him a nod before she walked around behind Akira, leaning her head against his back. He smiles back at her.

"Your coach's a pain in the ass Naka-chan, Kuri-chan." She grumbles, giving Kurihara a new nickname. The ginger felt his heart swell upon getting a promotion, Serinuma turned to him and gave him the thumbs up and along with a grin.

"Let's get goin' now yeah?" Osamu suggests with a yawn, all teenagers nod before walking out the gate.

- ☹︎ -

Small conversations flew around the group as they made their way down the street. Turns out Akira's bus stop is actually outside the convenience store, so they all made their way there. ( Y/n ) looks over at Atsumu and notices him sulking and complaining as he walked beside Ginjima.

"What's up with him?" She asks Suna, nodding her head at her younger brother. Suna turns around to the fake blonde, internally grinning before he turns back around to his female friend.

"He's just annoyed because Osamu got more points than him during practice." He informs ( Y/n ) before turning back to his phone and receiving a nod in reply.

That was when her phone began to ring. Pulling it out with an arched brow, ( Y/n )'s eyes widen at the contact name.

Incoming call: Copy cat😼🥵

Arching an eyebrow she stares at her screen as the phone continued to vibrate in her hand before pressing the answer button. Bringing the phone up to her ear she's met with a loud shouting of her name.

( Y/N )-CCHI!

She immediately brought the phone away from her ear as she stared at it with wide eyes, earning confused looks from her friends who were suddenly intrigued by her conversation.

Yo Ryo-chan
What's up?

Akira's eyebrows raise and a smile takes over his own mouth after seeing one on ( Y/n )'s.

I've got good news!

C'mon then

I've got a photo shoot in
(insert your town name)!
We can finally hang out!

( Y/n ) felt herself stop in her tracks upon hearing those words. Her actions cause Suna and Akira, who were walking beside her to look back at her with confused faces. The usually stone faced girl felt a bright smile begin to stretch across her mouth.

Seriously?! You better not be fucking around with me!

Her excited shouts catch the entire group of boys off guard, now staring at her happy self they begin to question who was on the phone, and what type of god they were.

I'm being serious!
I finally get to see you again!

The girls smile falters for a second.

Wait...
Where are you staying?

She asks, beginning to walk again, the other boys following her lead.

Ahh, that's the thing
I was wondering if I could
stay at yours for a few days.

( Y/n ) thinks about it for a bit before replying.

When is it?

She was met with a short silence and the slight ruffling of paper in the background.

In two weeks

That should be fine, hold on a sec

Resting the phone against her chest, she turns her head around to face her two brothers behind her. Snatching their biceps, she pulls them a few meters behind the group.

"Keep going! I just need to say something to these morons." ( Y/n ) tells the group who was blinking at them. After gaining a few nods, she returns her gaze to the males beside her.

"A friend of mine from Tokyo is planning to come visit. Is it ok with you two if they stay over?" She asks, a hopeful smile on her face as she purposely left out the fact that it was a male.

Both boys blink in surprise before glancing at each other.

"Why're ya askin' us ( Y/n )? Shouldn't cha be askin' Mom and Dad?" Atsumu whispers, careful to not let the people around them hear. He was clearly confused as to why their opinion was valid. Their sister simply shrugs.

"Dad would be fine with it, and I don't care what ( M/n ) wants. Just wanted to know that you's would be comfortable with it." She bluntly answers him, earning two understanding shrugs.

Both boys felt their hearts swell upon hearing that she actually cared about how they felt about her friend staying over.

"Sure thing then, I don't mind." Osamu says, Atsumu nodding in agreement earning a small thanks and a smile.

It's fine for you to
come over Ryo-chan!

YAAAY!

Her friend's celebration causes her to chuckle. They have a short conversation about the blonde-haired model coming over until the convenience store came into view and the female hung up the phone.

After bidding a farewell to her friends, and dragging a sulking Atsumu and a giddy Osamu out of the convenience store, the three triplets made their way home.

The walk was silent. However, it wasn't awkward nor was it uncomfortable for any of them, it was peaceful. The warm glow of the disappearing sun kissed their skin as they walked in a row, once more taking up the entire footpath. All three of them wanted this moment to last forever, especially the taller female.

So many good things have happened today. She burrows her mouth into the collar of 'her' hoodie as she softly smiles.

"Last one home's a rotten egg!" Atsumu suddenly exclaims, breaking the silence, no longer sulking as he began sprinting off towards their house, leaving the other two standing there blinking at him.

Both felt competitive smirks take over their mouths as they give each other a quick side glance.

"Get yer ass back here 'Tsumu!" Was all that was heard before the sound of footsteps echoed down the streets at abnormal speed.
