Hinata and Kageyama were on the couch watching Tv. Kageyama was lying behind Hinata with his arm around his waist. Both of them had fallen asleep. Hinata's phone started to ring, causing them to wake up. Hinata reached down to pick up, breaking away from Kageyama's arm. Kageyama sat up when he realized that it was Hinata's mom.
(phone call)
Hinata: Mom?
Hinata's mom: hello shōyō... Your dad wants you to go see him, too, while he's in jail.
Hinata: what?
Hinata's mom: apparently, he wants to apologize to you before they take him to prison.
Hinata: I'll think about it...
Hinata's mom: Okay... I have to go now.
(end phone call)
Hinata was quiet; he wasn't sure what he should do or say. Kageyama put his arm around his waist and pulled him onto his lap.
"So what do you want to do?" he asked softly.
Hinata shrugged.
"I want to ask him why he did what he did. Because of him, I was scared of being paired with an alpha; I was afraid of being marked; my mom hated you at first all because of him."
Kageyama kissed his forehead.
"I think I want to do it... Maybe it will help me not have another nightmare about when I was little if he apologizes." Hinata said.
Kageyama nodded; just then, Suga and Daichi came in with everyone else from practice.
Suga sat next to them on the couch.
"What's wrong?" he asked, sensing something was wrong.
Hinata explained to him about his mom calling him and him deciding to go see his dad.
"Okay, there is no practice tomorrow because the third years have an Assembly after school, " Suga said.
"You'll need someone to go with you, " Daichi said, not wanting to risk Kageyama and Hinata running into the group of Alpha's that we're targeting Omega's.
"We can go with them, " Eennoshita offered.
"Yeah, I won't let anyone mess with them!" Tanaka said confidently.
Daichi nodded.
"Okay, it's settled then; Tanaka and Eennoshita will go with you after school while the third year's go to the Assembly."
Kageyama and Hinata nodded.

Hinata and Kageyama were in their class.
Hinata was starting to feel anxious.
He raised his hand.
"Yes, Hinata?" His teacher questioned.
"May I use the bathroom?" Hinata asked.
His teacher nodded, and Hinata got up and walked out of the classroom. Kageyama wanted to follow him, but the teacher wouldn't let him.
Hinata walked to the bathroom and put his hands on the sink, and looked in the mirror, and took a breath. He didn't know exactly why he felt this way. His heart was racing, and he felt a bit dizzy, almost like when he had that panic attack from the nightmares he had.
He turned on the water and splashed some on his face. It was cold and seemed to help snap him back to reality. He was starting to think that maybe it wasn't a good idea to go see his dad, but at the same time... He wanted some form Of closure. He thought maybe it would help him if he did.
He took another breath and felt better, so he went back to class. When he got back, he went to his desk and quietly sat down; then, he noticed that Kageyama was gone.
The empty desk next to him filling him with anxiety. His teacher looked at him and noticed his distress.
"He got called to the office; he'll be back in a minute, " his teacher said and gave him a light smile.
This, however did not make him feel better. His Alpha wasn't there, and he felt like he had a few minutes before. Without thinking, he got up ran out of the classroom. His teacher called after him.
He made his way towards the office but stopped when he got halfway there, seeing Kageyama coming towards him accompanied

Hinata ran up to him and hugged him, almost knocking him over. Kageyama felt a wet spot forming on his shirt as Hinata started to cry.
"I..."
"It's okay, " Kageyama said, rubbing the top of Hinata's head.
"You two can go to the club room; we'll tell your teacher and bring you your stuff, " Kiyoko said. Kageyama nodded, and he and Hinata headed to the club room.
When they got there, they sat on a mat on the floor; Hinata laid down with his head in Kageyama's lap.
"Are you sure you should see your dad?" Kageyama asked as he gently rand his fingers through his hair.
"Yeah..." Hinata said, a bit unsure sounding.
Kiyoko and Yachi came and brought them their stuff.
"So why did you have to go to the office?" Hinata asked.
"They needed me to sign some stuff so we can be in the same class next year, " Kageyama said.
Hinata sat up a little and sat in Kageyama's lap.
"Can I ask you something?" Hinata asked, and Kageyama could pick up on the slight fear in his voice.
"Yeah, " Kageyama replied, a bit nervous.
"If you hadn't been paired with me... if the omega Program didn't exist. Would you still love me?"
The question completely threw Kageyama off guard. That hadn't been something he ever thought he'd be asked.
He buried his head in the crook of Hinata's neck and was quiet for a moment before speaking.
"I think so, yeah. Your the only Omega I've ever been able actually to smell their scent."
Hinta had already known that, but for some reason, he had started to have an uneasy feeling.
Kageyama tightened his arms around Hinata, pulling him closer to him. He felt Hinata relax against him.
Finally, it was the end of the day. Kageyama and Hinata walked to the front gates of the school to meet Tanaka and Ennoshita.
They walked with them to the bus station. Kageyama and Hinata trailed behind Tanaka and Eennoshita. Hinata was quiet, trying to stay calm while Tanaka and Eennoshita Talked, and Tanaka occasionally playfully pushed his omega off the sidewalk.
They got to the bus station and waited around 20 minutes for it to show up. They got on, and Hinata started to tense up. Kageyama put his arm around him and pulled him closer to him on the seat. Hinata rested his head on Kageyama's shoulder and calmed down a bit.
Ten minutes later, the bus pulled up in front of the Jail. The surroundings were bleak and unsettling. There was dead brown grass and a big building with hardly any windows. Kageyama felt Hinata's hand tighten around his own as they headed inside. He stopped walking.
"You don't have to do this, " he said, giving Hinata a stern but concerned look.
Eennoshita looked at Hinata and sighed.
"Hinata, if you don't feel-"
"No, I need to do this, " Hinata said, cutting him off.
Kageyama sighed and nodded, and the four of them headed in. They were met by two guards who searched them and sent them to a reception desk. Hinata told the lady at the desk his father's information, and she sent them to a visitor's area.
Another guard checked them and said that only Hinata and Kageyama could go; Tanaka and Eennoshita would have to wait for them out in a waiting area.
The guard sent Hinata and Kageyama into a different room with bright fluorescent lights that stung Hinata's eyes with a single metal table with two chairs on one side and one chair on the other. They sat down and waited for Ten minutes until two guards brought Hinata's dad in and cuffed him to the chair.
Staring at his dad, Hinata realized that he didn't look all that different from when he was little. His hair was still a mess of strangly dark brown hair that fell in his face, and his ice-blue eyes that always made him feel a shiver run down his spine. Then he smelled the scent of tobacco, the same scent he had hoped he'd never have to smell again.
"Hello, son, " The voice of his dad made his entire body tremble.
Kageyama tightened his hand around Hinata's.
"Are you going to introduce me to your Alpha?" His Dad asked with a smirk that made Kageyama want to punch him.
"This is-"
"I'm Kageyama, " Kageyama said, cutting Hinata off while trying to conceal the growl in his chest.
"Looks like his mom raised yet another weak Omega, " Hinata's dad said.
Kageyama couldn't stop the growl from escaping him.
"Stop, " Hinata said, taking Kageyama and his dad by surprise.
"Mom wasn't weak... I'm not weak either... Is that what you think? That we were just weak Omega's? Is that why you did what you did to us?" Hinata said, sounding angry.
Suddenly his dad began to laugh.
"That's all Omega's are, weak. They are good for breeding, and that's it."
Kageyama growled, then he smelled it... The unmistakable scent of an omega that's about to drop. He looked at Hinata and saw he was starting to go pale. He quickly got up and picked Hinata up and rushed out of the room past the guard and into a hallway where he gently sat down and put Hinata on his lap and rocked him.
"Please don't drop, it's okay... Just, please... Not here it's not safe." Kageyama quietly begged.
He felt Hinata nuzzle his head against him and whimper.
"Shh, it's okay, your safe. I'm right here, " Kageyama said softly and rubbed his back.
Just then, at the worst time, a few guards came with a line of inmates following them.
One of the guards stopped.
"You not supposed to be here, " he said. Then he noticed the state that Hinata was in. He motioned for the other guard to take the inmates out of there and stayed with Kageyama.
"Our friends are in the waiting area, " Kageyama said anxiously.
The guard nodded.
"Once he is able to stand, I'll take you there and get you a ride home."
Kageyama nodded.
"Thank you."
After a few minutes, Hinata started to move a little.
"I feel better, " he said.
Kageyama stood up and helped Hinata walk as they followed the guard to where Tanaka and Eennoshita were. Eennoshita, whose Omega senses, kicked in when he saw Hinata and smelled the scent of dropping rushed over to them.
"What happened?!" he asked.
Kageyama explained the situation all while not letting go of Hinata, even though he knew Omega's were better at comforting other omega's.
The guard came back a few minutes later and told them he got them a ride. The four of them followed him outside, where an officer was waiting by an unmarked police car. They got in and he drove them home.
After they got back to the packhouse, Kageyama took Hinata upstairs to their room while Tanaka and Eennoshita waited in the kitchen for everyone else to get home.
Kageyama laid Hinata down on the bed and went to go run a bath for them, knowing that helped him feel better. He came back and laid next to him while the tub filled.
Hinata rolled over and buried his head in Kageyama's chest.
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have decided to go there."
"It's okay, " Kageyama said quietly.
"You're not mad?" Hinata asked.
"Not at you, " Kageyama said and kissed his head. "I- do have a question though, "
"What?" Hinata asked.
"Earlier, when you asked me if I'd still love you if we hadn't been paired together, was that because of your dad?"
"Yes, " Hinata answered quietly. "Sometimes, I get scared that you will do what he did to my mom, then leave me, " Hinata said and clung to Kageyama's shirt.
Kageyama held him closer.
"I'd never do that, " he said.
"I know... But I still get that thought sometimes, "
Kageyama sighed and got up.
"The bath is done," he said. Hinata got up and followed him into the bathroom; they got into the tub, and Hinata relaxed, sitting in between Kageyama's legs with his head resting against his chest.
~down stairs~
Eennoshita had decided that since it was late that he would make dinner since the Assembly had gone longer than expected. He decided to keep it simple and make pasta and garlic bread. As he cooked, he heard the sound of the third year's coming home. Daichi and suga went into the kitchen and sat at the table.
"How was the Assembly?" Tanaka asked.
Suga groaned and put his head down on the table.
"It was boring,"
Daichi laughed.
"Yeah it was just about us venturing out into the world."
"That sounds bad," Tanaka grimaced at the thought.
"You have no idea," Suga said.
Ennoshita got done making the pasta.
"Should we get everyone to come down and eat?"
"Yeah, " Daichi said and sent a text to the group chat. Pretty soon, everyone came down and sat at the table besides Hinata and Kageyama.
Eennoshita explained what happened at the jail, and Suga decided to make them each a plate and put them in the fridge for them to warm up when They were ready to eat.
