3rd Person POV
"I didn't get a proper answer from you the last time... I think we both were not in a healthy state of mind then... I'm just asking you a simple question. I'll go away with either a yes or a no. I won't bug you any longer if the answer is no, though. So I'm asking you one time. I like you. Will you go out with me?"
It was the morning after the talk. Tamura and Yaguchi both took their time to calm down a little. And Yaguchi mentally prepared himself for the question and the possibility of answers. Of course he wasn't sure, he never really knew that Tamu had liked him from the start. How could he? Tamura had done everything he could to make Yaguchi think he hates him from the very start of everything. But the truth was different; Tamura was in love with Yaguchi. He loved him so much to the point he couldn't hide it in any other way than bullying and being rude to Yaguchi.
"No. Sorry, but I don't want to go out with you."
The response Tamura gave was expected for Yaguchi. But it wasn't expected for the other people that knew very well that Tamura was in love with Yaguchi
"Understandable. Have a great day then. Sorry to bug you."

And just like that, Yaguchi walked away, rejected once again. But like I said; he did prepare himself for any negative outcome. So it was okay. He was okay.
Except he wasn't okay at all.
It now has been a few days since the talk between Tamura and Yaguchi and for some reason, Tamura was oddly fine
He was back to his default mode which made everyone relieved and confused at the same time. Whatever Yaguchi told Tamura somehow worked apparently and they just enjoyed having their Tamu back. But they also knew the two stopped seeing each other and talking to each other altogether which was really... Unexpected
But just as if the past few weeks hasn't happened it was just back to normal. And that was fine.... Right?
Though unlike Tamura; Yaguchi was not okay AT ALL. He didn't really talk much and everyone. Literally everyone were worried about him. His teachers, his soccer club members.... Including Toono and Kashima, of course. And they also knew he was this down because of Tamura.They decided not to question Yaguchi about it though. They went straight to Tamura.
"Tamu-senpai!"
Toono kicked the clubroom door open, rushing in with the expression he always made when the club made a very sexual comment about him. Which meant he was angry. Really angry
Kadına followed behind him, trying to calm him down "Toono, please don't lose your temper."
But who the fuck was Toono to listen? "You! what did you do to Yacchan?"
The clubroom was empty, well except for Tamura of course. Tamu looked at Toono and crossed his arms "Me? I didn't do anything to him. Why are you asking me? You're his best friend you're more likely to know." He rolled his eyes
Of course, that wasn't how Tamura really felt. But he didn't want to come off as weak and really didn't want to have to deal with the consequences of rejecting his own crush. But you know; dodging your responsibilities™
"Do you know how Yacchan is feeling right now? He looks sad ALL the time! How can you be so careless, he is YOUR CRUSH so why don't you care about his feelings a little more!? I don't know what you said to him but at least tell me what happened so I can try and find a way to make him feel b-"

"I rejected him, okay? He confessed to me, and I said no."
"You WHAT"
Toono was worried about his friend. He really wanted to help him because he hated seeing Yaguchi like that, sad all the time. Tamura's words obviously surprised him a lot.
"He is your goddamn crush, why would you reject him and hurt his feelings like that!?"
"You wouldn't give a fuck about me if I was the one being rejected, Toono. So stop with this shit already and let me have my own emotions and thoughts. If he's hurt, that's his problem, not mine."
"You-"
"Calm down Toono. Someone will get hurt if you keep on like this." Kashima held Toono's arm and pulled him back when he tried to follow Tamura who was now leaving the uncomfortable athmosphere. He decided to listen to Kashima after all.
After Tamura left, the two started talking.
"I don't understand, why would he want to hurt Yacchan like that? Doesn't he like him?"
Toono walked back and forth in the clubroom as he thought out loud. Kashima was sitting on the couch, still trying to relax Toono
"Maybe he just wasn't ready? Whatever the reason is; we shouldn't stick our nose in it. It's their business."
"But Yacchan looks horrible all the time! I'm worried about him."
"I know Toono. And we can try to cheer up Kyosuke a little. But don't get mad at Tamu-senpai for this. Maybe it was just bound to happen, right? We can't blame Tamu-senpai for his emotions and decisions. And we can't blame him for rejecting Kyosuke. What did you expect him to do anyways; did he have to go out with him even though he didn't want to just so Kyosuke wouldn't be sad?"
Kashima stood up when he saw Toono was just looking down instead of responding. He pulled the shorter male into a hug while continuening "You are an amazing friend Toono. You know that, right? Let's just give them both time. I'm sure Kyosuke will get over it. He was always like that when we were children. He would always get grumpy and sad over something for a while and after a few days he would just get back to his original state."
Toono looked at Kashima as he hugged back "You sure?"
Kashima smiled "I hope so."

But that never happened. Yaguchi got worse and worse everyday as he got better at the same time. He seemed to be fine and started looking joyful and happy again. But Toono could see the darkening if his eyes whenever he asked him about it or told him to talk to Tamura. Took could see his friend still was really down about being rejected by Tamura.
But following Kashima's advice; Toono didn't really talk to Tamura about it after that one explosion of anger he experienced. Plus, he also could see the darkening in Tamura's eyes whenever Yaguchi was mentioned in any way. Toono decided not to dive way too deep into this though, still following Kashima's advice. And nothing really changed about the relationships he had with both of the guys.
One of these really weird days; Tamura and Toono were casually chatting on one of the stairs. Tamura saw Yaguchi
Now, they had seen each other a couple of times after the talk even though they legit avoided each other, sure; but he also noticed something weird.
Yaguchi looked weird. It took him a few seconds of staring to realise. He widened his eyes and turned to Toono
"Yagu- d- why did he- w-wha- did he really-?" He could not speak properly. He couldn't find the right words
"Oh, you're talking about his hair?" Toono's expression suddenly got serious "He stopped tying it up a few days ago, if that's what you're talking about. He said he wanted a style change although I highly doubt what is the actual reason."
Toono had have Tamura an obvious look. A look that said 'Why the fuck do you think he stopped tying it up? You fucking asshole.'
Tamura tensed up at the intense glare. Toono then stood up "Welp, I'm going now. I'll see you around Tamu-senpai"
Tamura nodded. Toono had seriously scared him to the bone "Whoa what the fuck" he mumbled as he watched Toono walk away
He then turned to where he saw Yaguchi. He wanted to talk to him but he was with his friends and honestly looked pretty happy. Except, he didn't? It was really confusing.
He didn't notice him there yet? Usually they would make eye contact for a split seconds and then try to get away from each other, both feeling bad.
Tamura sighed and looked down.

All Tamu did in the lunch break was looking for Yaguchi. Lucky for him, he found what he was looking for in the end
"Yaguchi." He called out the ginger's name as he walked towards him in the hallways. Yaguchi turned to him for a second but then gazed away "What is it?" Was all he could get out of his system. He didn't want to see Tamu at all
"Why did you not tie your hair up today?" Tamu asked oddly seriously
"hUh- oh- i... I thought about what you said about it and decided, it does make me look like a girl after all..." Yaguchi let out a muffled and forced chuckle
Tamura paused "You... Actually cared about my opinion and let it down?" He laughed for a second, then continued "You cared about the opinion my dumb ass made about something that was none of its fucking business to begin with?"
"I-" Yaguchi looked at Tamura. "I guess I did, yeah..."
Tamura reached for Yaguchi's hair. Yaguchi unsurprisingly jolted a little, expecting a harsh behavior from Tamura.
But to his surprise, Tamura gently took the side of Yaguchi's hair, holding it up like Yaguchi used to tie it.
"Plus.... Who said I meant it..?"
Yaguchi was dumbfounded "wh- uh..."
He then took a deep breath and pushed Tamura's hand away from his hair "Tamura. You rejected me... Remember?"
