Theo screamed as he sat upright, waking up. Riya's eyes snapped open as she looked up at the boy next to her. His chest was rising up and down quickly as his hands gripped the sheets beneath him.
"Theo," Riya whispered softly. Theo looked towards her as he grabbed the left side of his chest, squeezing it like he was scared it would slip away. Riya slid her hand into his, her eyebrows knitted together in worry.
"She's coming! She's coming!" he yelled, tears streaming down his face, "Don't let her take it! Don't let her take my heart! It keeps happening and she won't stop!"
"It was just a dream," Riya stated, cupping his face. Theo shook his head furiously, his sweaty hair flopping down onto his forehead. "Theo!" Riya exclaimed, searching his eyes. Getting no response from him, she pressed her lips to his, hoping to shock him back into reality.
She let go of his face, pulling back from him. "Are you okay?" she asked quietly.
Theo nodded carefully, his breathing slowly returning back to normal. He took off his sweat-stained shirt, throwing it off to the side. He laid back down next to Riya, wrapping an arm around her. She sighed, resting her cheek on his shirtless toned chest.
"I love you, Theo."
"I love you too."
